'It's laughable how much weight you've put on'

New Year New thread!
Still using this quote as motivation - 'It's laughable how much weight you've put on. You've always been ugly inside and out, but at least you had your enviable figure as leverage to get your own way. Now you don't even have that'
Started at 74kg, now at 68kg which I've managed to hold over the festive season. Next goal is 64kg, in 8 weeks.
Anyone want to join me?
I've set myself a few fitness goals and I'm going to try and not buy any new clothes over the 8 weeks so I can buy something fabulous for a weekend away I have planned at the end of the 8 weeks.
Anyone want to join me?
(I don't know how to like the old thread but I'll try)

I didn't gain anything on my week away. Back on it now.

And... my new jeans that I couldn't do up a few weeks ago when I bought them fit!

I am back up to 75.5. Have had a crap week with a close friend going into hospice and a family member refusing more chemo (only diagnosed in January). I am eating my feelings. 😢

Queenofthesky · 26/02/2022 07:39

Can I join in? Looking to lose a last stubborn 7 pounds to get to my optimum weight through exercise and diet. Going to run this morning and tomorrow morning and try not to overindulge on food and booze this weekend. Hoping to have lost the weight by 31st March.

Queenofthesky · 26/02/2022 07:40

@Weenurse sorry to read that - sounds awful.

Queenofthesky · 26/02/2022 07:44

@Hop27 can't believe someone said that you. Not surprised you feel motivated to exercise your weight off and hope the scales are moving down for you.

Sorry you are having such an awful time. How are you now?
Hop27 · 09/03/2022 21:10

65.7kg
Sorry I've been quiet! Got stuck on mid 66/67 and got really frustrated. How is everyone else going?

I got stuck on 82/83 for a while but 81.8 today.

I've been eating the same calories but I think it was my period so I'll have to test that theory next month. It'll be really frustrating just having 2 weeks a month where I actually lose weight then gain the first week of my period then back down the next week to what I was the week before my period

Hi OP. I just wanted to say I also have someones words rattling around my head from about 15 years ago.

Fucking hell you got fat said my "best friend" after not seeing me for a few years. She then walked off and never spoke to me again.

Those words hurt me more than I've ever liked to admit and led to me piling on more and more weight.

I know now they speak more about her than me.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 11/03/2022 18:16

A "friend" said to me yesterday as I was walking to the kitchen, oh my God your bottom is massive, it wobbles. You have to lose weight. I am distraught as I've been depressed and eating g too much but I've realised it is massive and I have to do something about it. But I am upset I feel I'm more than just a fat person. I. Kind and go out of my way to help people yet still get this kind of comment all the time. Nobody ever says you're kind Nd you've helped me so much. I cried.

Queenofthesky · 13/03/2022 18:59

@Shehasadiamondinthesky you sound absolutely lovely to me and kind people are my favourite sort of people. More fool them if they don't value you for it.

If you want to lose weight I really recommend giving up sugar. Sugar is an addiction and people eat it whether they are hungry or not as it works like any other drug in that the more you eat the more you crave. Cut down over a few days and you will see that your appetite soon stabilises and you don't have constant hunger. If you get sugar withdrawal headaches take a painkiller and eat some fruit like berries that don't impact your blood sugar. There is loads of info on the internet about this but it's a life changer!

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 14/03/2022 12:05

Thank you Queenofthesky.
I've gone on a diet and lost 4 pounds this week. Luckily I'm not keen on sweet stuff but do have a thing for carbs which of course turn to sugar so almost as bad.
I went and had hypnosis which has helped, I'm on a course of it.

Wow! That's awful! I had a friend years ago I didn't see very often, every few months or so but I realised that every time I met her the first thing she commented on was my weight, oh you've lost weight or that I'd put on weight then one time gave me a lecture on how she makes sure she never eats more than 500 calories in one meal. I let the friendship slide as it was making me miserable & was anxious of what she'd say next. She was a Dr as well so you'd think she'd have more sense of how these comments can affect people!
Hop27 · 27/03/2022 23:59

I've got to 65.6kg.
Gained 0.8kg in muscle
Dropped 5% body fat!
Just need to keep going Shock
