'It's laughable how much weight you've put on'

New Year New thread!
Still using this quote as motivation - 'It's laughable how much weight you've put on. You've always been ugly inside and out, but at least you had your enviable figure as leverage to get your own way. Now you don't even have that'
Started at 74kg, now at 68kg which I've managed to hold over the festive season. Next goal is 64kg, in 8 weeks.
Anyone want to join me?
I've set myself a few fitness goals and I'm going to try and not buy any new clothes over the 8 weeks so I can buy something fabulous for a weekend away I have planned at the end of the 8 weeks.
Anyone want to join me?
(I don't know how to like the old thread but I'll try)

Hi, I’d like to join you please. I’ve put on quite a bit the last couple of years. I’d like to get down to 11 stone and think I’m around 13 stone 7. I was doing well but then Christmas hit and all good intentions went out the window. I’m trying to focus on protein but still having some carbs. Plenty of fruit and veg and very limited treats. Loads of water etc. Aiming for 10,000 steps a day and want to start the couch to 5 K. This might sound a bit basic but I think I need those baby steps to gently get me back to regular exercise if you know what I mean. It’s so hard though. Once the cravings kick in I really have to work not to give in. Wishing everyone all the best with their missions and let’s see where we can get to in 8 weeks!

Hop27 · 05/02/2022 10:25

Whoop @Barnesand2020 !!!
Doesn't sound basic at all!!! Sounds like a sensible measured approach Smile

75.9 kg today.
Not much progress, but not going backwards.
I have cut up fruit to snack on rather than reaching for chocolate

AutomaticMoon · 06/02/2022 03:13

@fluffiphlox

Good God, what a thing to say to anybody.
This 😞

How is everyone doing?
I've had a good week sticking to my meal plan, 7 workouts and walked 30km.
I started at 68.8kg - weighed in at 67.8kg this morning. One week down, seven to go! Meal prep tonight for the week ahead !

I have discovered sandwich thins.
Will be having cheese and tomato sandwich with fruit for lunch at work tomorrow.
DH has just made chicken noodle soup for dinner, going to avoid having bread with that.
I am planning on 1/4 a brownie after dinner with a hot drink, otherwise I will be looking for chocolate.
How was everyone else’s weigh in?

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 06/02/2022 07:38

Well it was DHs birthday yesterday so that was BBQ, cake and wine. But back on healthy eating today.

Total weight loss this year: 8lbs.

Juniper68 · 06/02/2022 09:54

I'm doing ok. I haven't done much exercise but have cut down on unhealthy food. I'll be doing a bit of walking today.

WouldBeGood · 06/02/2022 10:02

Hello! Well, yesterday was a bad day as away so lots of food and drink! But other than that, I’ve been really good, sticking to my food and exercise plan, and lost 11lbs in three weeks! Think it’s mainly down to quitting midweek wine 😳 I am also pretty fat so think it’s easier

@yearofthefat welcome !!! You've achieved so much already !
I have been painfully hungry this week Angry

I want to loose 7.5 kg.
I’ve never had to diet or really exercise before so following for ideas.

Hop27 · 09/02/2022 20:04

@TabithaTittlemouse welcome !!
My food this week has been good, but I've had to add a bit more protein to my food.
Todays food is
Iced coffee skim milk
LCM bar before training
2 eggs, spinach, halloumi 2 slices. 1 slice of bread.
Ginger protein Cookie
Thai chicken mince and slaw
Table spoon of hummus and veggies to dip
Chicken Greek salad
Handful of shredded chicken.
I'm training at F45 6 days a week and walking 3-5km a day with a 10km walk on the weekends.
I must admit I really didn't want to get up at 5am this morning to train but I dragged myself out of bed with the promise of an iced coffee.
(I live in the tropics)

10lbs gone since beginning of January.

I ran a mile yesterday.

WouldBeGood · 10/02/2022 10:37

Well done @Aroundtheworldin80moves!!

I’m just doing old fashioned calorie deficit, with high protein to fill me up. I’m never hungry: never eaten so much!

The Fitness Chef or James Smith PT are both good on this. No forbidden foods or weird diets.

sparklins · 10/02/2022 10:44

Is it too late to join?

I am currently 69kgs and have the first holiday in 3 years booked for May! I would love to get down to 60kg (and maybe then push it down another couple of kgs depending on how I feel) so 9kgs to go!

One of my main goals would also being toned rather than just slim as I have always suited a bit more of an athletic looking frame.

I have purchased a rebounder/trampoline which has just arrived and I am working on my diet as we speak - I managed a loss a couple of years ago by ott calorie counting and it wasn't very healthy for me so I am trying to work out the best way to go about it.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 10/02/2022 10:51

So currently around 103kg. DH next due home around the 26th Feb. Can I get to 100kg before then?
I'm lucky in that he's my biggest cheerleader (and claims I look slimmer each time he comes home. Not quite sure i believe him).

Hop27 · 10/02/2022 11:08

Welcome @sparklins !
@Aroundtheworldin80moves - amazing work ! You've got 2 weeks to drop 3 kg, just make sure your in enough of a deficit to drop 1.5kg per week!

NrlySp · 10/02/2022 11:17

Id like to join please.
Going down the high protein, low amounts of bread route.
Aiming for gym 3 - 4 times a week. And walking.
Off on holiday next week so plan to start with the walking. Fortunately it’s self catering.
Initially i want to lose 1 stone. I’m 16 at the moment. It’s slowly crept on.

Hop27 · 10/02/2022 11:20

Hello @NrlySp !!
Walking is amazing for well-being and weight loss!

Hey!

Anyone mind a late comer to the group?

Currently 90kg, want to be closer to 65kg, which seems like a huge huge amount right now!

I've been sucked into low carb high fat for about 6 months and it's just not for me, it was getting me nowhere. I've now spent two weeks going low fat and calorie counting and thankfully the weight is coming off again.

Joined the gym in November and I try to go swimming twice a week and do a workout (weights/resistance) 1-2 times a week too.

I don't drive so walk everywhere, currently getting in around 15,000 steps a day thanks to the school run!

Hop27 · 10/02/2022 11:26

Welcome @PaddleBoardingMomma ! The more the merrier 💕

Hop27 · 10/02/2022 11:27

Calorie deficit really works for me, paired with exercise!

OP posts:
PaddleBoardingMomma · 10/02/2022 11:29

Can I ask what sort of deficient you're currently working at? I'm trying to keep track and I estimate I'm at about 1200-1500 ish at the moment, but running out of meal ideas so feel free to share any!
