Do you go to class ?
How long have you been doing it & how much have you lost ?

I am on my second week (weigh-in tomorrow). I go to a weigh and go class in the city in my lunch hour and have lost 8lbs so far. I miss going to an actual class though so am looking for some support on here.

Fairycakes - don't eat nothing all day, otherwise you'll be starving, and pick all the wrong things to eat. Make a point-free soup and use that all day to keep you going. Surely you can spare 5 points or so to have some bread with your soup too?

OhComeLetUsADiorHim · 16/12/2004 19:20

Oh yes, KittyPickle, what is this nocount thingummy? Am dying to know more, as it worries me to change things when I have been doing so well on points.

Kittypickle · 16/12/2004 20:22

There's a list of foods that you can eat without weighing from which you have three meals a day. You're supposed to eat until you're full, not overfull and uncomfortable. I think if you need food inbetween you're supposed to have fruit. In addition you have 21 points a week to spend on what you want or for ingrediants in your meals that are not on the NoCount list. The old points system is now called Full Choice and there's a questionnaire that you do in the beginning that works out your points for you, so if you're in a more active job you get more than someone who is less active. You can switch between both plans but only after doing one for a full week. I think that's the main bits, it's not 100% clear from the site.

emkana · 17/12/2004 19:21

Oh nooooooooo, I don't want to change! I love the points way of losing weight, and I will stick with it unless the new diet sounds very convincing!

OhComeLetUsADiorHim · 17/12/2004 19:26

Me too Emkana - I'm really worried that change makes melose control. That happened to me last year, and I put all my weight back on. I'm not good with change! In case I haven't made it clear yet, I like to be in control

fairycakes · 18/12/2004 00:14

oh my god, how complex does that sound? sounds a bt like slimming world to me? how can that possible work if you can eat loads of something? i dont get it! think i will stick to what i know..........!!

OhComeLetUsADiorHim - your right, perhaps i was being a bit stupid, i will probably pass out if i dont eat anything all day anyway! good idea about the soup - although i have to say, i was naughty tonight and had a strawberry and cream tart and also some brie on crackers after i had eaten my daily points allowance.... i have no self control!!

fairycakes · 18/12/2004 00:15

quick question - are their any points in Robinsons No added sugar Orange Cordial?

OhComeLetUsADiorHim · 18/12/2004 18:28

Any calories in it? If not, I would say no points, but that would be an educated guess IYKWIM.

fairycakes · 20/12/2004 10:02

oh no, have had such a bad weekedn diet-wise - started off with such good intentions when went out for meal on sat night, but ended up having far too much wine and picking probably the most fattening things on the menu - washed down with even more wine! then had huge row with dp when i got home and ended up going for a chinese to "talk" on sunday night! dont even want to go anywwhere near those scales...........

SecondhandRose · 20/12/2004 11:14

I had my second weigh-in on Friday and had lost 3lb, that's 7.5lb in two weeks. Really pleased with myself and can feel the difference too. Had a pig out yesterday so trying not to eat until this afternoon. Have had 2 Starburst but I'm sure they don't count - far too small.

Kaysleighbells · 20/12/2004 11:20

SecondhandRose well done Great loss.
I had a good day saturday but a pretty bad one yesterday. We had friends over for lunch and I was reasonably restrained but then ended up picking on all the leftovers in the evening. Ate two bagels with various toppings and then enough mini chocolate bars to feed a small army. Bad.
It's hard at the moment with all the socialising and Xmas stuff. But I figure if i'm good half the time then it's loads better than I would have been if I hadn't been doing w/w at all IYKWIM !

linnyNollaig · 20/12/2004 22:00

HI all.
have also fallen off "the wagon"
weighed in last wed and had pound up
and since then ive completely lost control!!
I've no "weigh in" until jan 5th which is so
not helping.
dh thinks i should just forget about it for xmas and live it up, and start afresh in the new year?
sound advice or not so sound... that my dears is the question
well done secondhandrose on your loss..
Keep it up girl!!

OhComeLetUsADiorHim · 21/12/2004 19:36

Sound advice? Is it bollcks! Try not to go too mad each day. My best piece of advice ever received is to ask yourself if you really* want whatever is calling to you from the fridge. If have a glass of water and wait 20 minutes and still want it, then have it and enjoy it. If not, don't eat it. Christmas is two days, not three weeks!

Smug, moi? I am determined to lose over Xmas, so feel free to well and truly rub my nose in it if I gain!

Ooh, yes, second piece of advice...never listen to your dh where dieting is concerned. He'll be the first one grabbing any love handles in the New Year!

fairycakes · 21/12/2004 21:01

well done secondhandrose - thats a really good loss!

kaysleighbells, good theory - i like it, and it makes me feel better for that muffin i ended up having for breakfast (went xmas shopping v early, felt very sick with hunger and the only place open at that time only solf muffins) and the pasty i had for lunch (no excuse for that, just pure greed)

OhComeLetUsADiorHim · 21/12/2004 21:03

Fairycakes - change your name to 'IAteAllTheCakes' right now!

I give up on the lot of you...bah humbug. I'm only having a bowl of gruel for Christmas lunch you know

IAteAllTheCakes · 22/12/2004 21:22

your certainly right to give up on me - im terrible - but as soon as all this christmas palava is over, i will defnitely be back on track again - on a positive note, i have just done a 2 hour aerobic session and practically killed myself doing it, so hopefully thats burnt off at least a third of that muffin i had the other day!!

well, good luck over christmas everyone, dont think i will be back on here til after then as got so much to do!!

and enjoy your gruel OhComeLetUsADiorHim!!

merry christmas!! xxxxxxx

OhComeLetUsADiorHim · 22/12/2004 21:24

Bless you I can't believe you changed your name...hee hee. Made my day. Have a good Christmas, and may Santa fill your stocking

Kaysleighbells · 26/12/2004 15:02

Very quiet on here

fairycakes · 27/12/2004 18:06

so did everyone have a nice xmas? anyone else terrified of going anywhere near any scales, or is it just me? hope you didnt all fall off track like me and were good?!

stabilo · 27/12/2004 18:06

anyone heard of the new plan SWITCH? after a little info

OhComeLetUsADiorHim · 27/12/2004 19:01

I ate what I wanted on both Xmas and Boxing Day. Felt full both nights, but I know that I didn't eat as much as I would have done on previous years. Hope you all had a great time.

Have gone back on the diet today, and I am finding it a little hard! Keep eanting ds' selection boxes, but have managed to put temptation behind me, and cooked Thai Beef Curry from the Time To Eat cookbook. It was lovely.

OhComeLetUsADiorHim · 27/12/2004 19:02

That should have been 'keep wanting'

fairycakes · 28/12/2004 13:10

I wish I had as much will power as you OhComeLetUsADiorHim - i tried to go back on it yesterday but by about midday i thought, oh another day wont make a difference (which of course im sure it will) but have stuck to it so far today...........

Stabilo - havent heard anything about it other than whats written on the weight watchers website about it im afraid, it sounds a bit like slimming world to me, i think you can either do the new program where you have a list of free foods that you can eat as much as you like of, or you can stick to the points program, or there is a way in which you can combine the 2 - dont quote me on this though as it was a few weeks ago i read it and thats just from what i think it said....?!

Dizzylizzy · 28/12/2004 13:49

I hope to be joining you all in new year if thats ok, I have 10st to lose i am DREADING getting weighed next week as I could need to lose more.

OhComeLetUsADiorHim · 28/12/2004 18:26
