Do you go to class ?
How long have you been doing it & how much have you lost ?

I am on my second week (weigh-in tomorrow). I go to a weigh and go class in the city in my lunch hour and have lost 8lbs so far. I miss going to an actual class though so am looking for some support on here.

hi all.. happy new year to everyone!!
im afraid i ate my way thro the festive season as i always do! no self control at all
was supposed to weigh in on 5th but just couldnt face it and as a result am still in xmas mode diet wise!!
HELP HELP HELP HELP!!!!!!!
just cant seem to get back into it..
have gained a whopping 7lbs!
Such a huge set back and feel sssoooo
fat!

Kayleigh · 11/01/2005 10:32

linnyNollaig, I gained 5 and a half in total through late december and over xmas but my weigh in last week was a turning point and I have gone back on it.
I very nearly chickened out, but as I was meeting Marina I felt I had to go. I wanted to loose the weight first and then go back - really daft idea as I know I would have carried on being bad. I don't think you'll get yourself on track again until you go and get weighed. You need to bite the bullet and get weighed. Then put it behind you and start again. Good luck X

I am trying to do ww myself for a few weeks before I get weighed. I am a gold member so will only get free weigh-ins if I don't go 5lbs over my final weight. I am about 7lbs over !! Too much choc at Christmas

eidsvold · 12/01/2005 01:54

first weigh in tonight!! interested tos ee how I go - am doing points and have not really been tracking as closely as I could and struggling to eat as much as they say I should!! Am buying the journal tonight so I can track more easily.

fairycakes · 12/01/2005 11:26

you all prob know this already, but (i eat a lot of ready meals) after comparing various supermanrekts "healthy" meals, i have found that marks and spencers count on us range are generally speaking quite low in points, and really tasty.
E.G prawns with noodles and sweet chilli sauce - 4 1/2 points.
Also, i only just found out that tesco healthy living have the points totals written on the back of the packet - genius!

eidsvold · 12/01/2005 11:41

ohhh jsut back from first weigh in - lost 1.7kg - tha tis without any exercise this week and not really closely tracking my food... quite pleased with that result.

lunavix · 12/01/2005 11:42

I just got in from todays weigh in - lost 1 and a half pounds! Haven't tracked this week or nothing ( being lazy )

Does anyone else think the new switch thing is a bit stupid?

yes, well done you two.

I'm with Dior on the switch thing. Couldn't trust myself not to eat 3 chickens and 87 tomatoes. I have a huge appetite so I am really better sticking to points. If I ate three meals till I was "comfortably full" I'd never leave the table

weighed in today and lost 1 and a half pounds. Still another 4 to lose till I'm back at what I was before xmas though. So with myself now.

well done everyone else

fairycakes · 13/01/2005 23:41

p.s can someone who has a recent shhopping guide/access to online database please answer this q for me?

is 64g of king prawns only 1/2 point? it says that in my 2003 shopping guide, so I had 2 points worth, 256g, and it was 2 whole packets of them, loads.....and i wondered whether it was another misprint in my book, otherwise i think i will just eat prawns from now on!!

emkana · 14/01/2005 10:15

Hello everybody,
I'm still doing WW, too. Was very pleased to have lost 1.5 pounds over Christmas - didn't expect that! Have lost 54 pounds altogether now, only 19 pounds to go! I'm going to stick with the Points diet because any diet that forbids me to eat anything makes me feel deprived - I need to feel that I can have everything, if only in moderation.
Which brings me to a question: I am addicted to Parma Violets - love the stuff - but have no idea how to point them! Anybody any ideas? Also I love eating honeycake, which is virtually fat free - again I haven't got a clue how to point it. TIA for any ideas.

lunavix · 14/01/2005 10:32

fairycakes - I have the new shopping guide and it does say half a point

Although if you look in the fish section, at all the different supermarkets and fresh/frozen, they all seem to say more...

bran · 14/01/2005 10:48

Hello everyone - I haven't been here for absolutely ages, mostly because I've been holidaying instead of dieting. I must have picked up some good habits though because I had my first weigh-in since Christmas on Wednesday and I lost 4.5 lbs which was a great surprise.

Fairycakes - I checked on-line about king prawns and they are indeed 0.5 points for 64g, but they are 3 points for 256g. I guess it's because of rounding - eg if the exact point value was 0.7 for 64g, that would be rounded down to 0.5 points, but the exact valued for 256g (2.8) would be rounded up to 3 points. Still very good value point-wise though, and yummy too.

Emkana - while I was on the site anyway I looked up honeycake and they list a brand called Osem which is 3.5 points per slice. They also listed Swizzels Matlow Ltd Parma Violets which was 0.5 points for a mini-tube, or 3 points for 50g.

emkana · 14/01/2005 19:08

Thank you, bran!

FineFigureFio · 14/01/2005 19:12

hello, I am doing weightwatchers. i have my first weigh in on tuesday, hopefully it wont be as shocking as last tuesday

eidsvold · 15/01/2005 05:06

hope it all goes well on Tues Fio... had a bit of a splurge day today so far but I get 32 points and still think I am well within those!!! I thought it would be easy doing 32 points - well if you have an indian worth 25 1/2 I guess but we are going low fat etc now - even dh wants to do that and I find 32 points a lot to use!!

btw 32 is because I am breastfeeding..

fairycakes · 15/01/2005 13:53

well, thanks for the advice about the king prawns - however, after eating all of those prawns the other day, i now have food poisoning and my doctor thinks it is the prawns as they were the only thing i ate that it could have been, so great find - but dont think i'll be eating any for a long time!!!!!
