2022 has GOT to be the year I get on track and stop yo-yoing! Who's with me

Started 2021 at 15st 1lb! Lost weight, put some on, lost some, put some back on. Weighed myself today and I'm 15st 2 again!!!! Back to square one! In 5"2 and now back up to a size 16. I feel unhealthy and unattractive but really struggle with the impulse to binge eat, especially when I am stressed or tired. Before having children I lost 8 stone, weighed 10 stone and wore a size 10 so I know I can do it. Just need to stay motivated. I am going to restart with my fitness Pal and try and walk 10000 everyday. Really don't want to be writing the same thing this time next year!

Congrats on passing Dumpydump. Star Wine And well done for still losing even after choc and takeaway. I hope you enjoy your day off. Smile
I 'only' lost 2lbs this week. A bit gutted as I started exercising last week and thought that would help shift the pounds. I was hoping to be 12st something. ATM I'm 13st 0.8lbs. Just need to pick myself up, dust myself off and get back on it! (I had some chocolate M & M's in protest. Blush Grin I was also stopped from eating the Easter eggs in the cupboard.)

73kittycat73 · 07/03/2022 19:52

Wow WitchDancer! Good going! Well done you! Star

WitchDancer · 07/03/2022 21:51

2lb is a great amount to loose Kitty, so please don't be disappointed! Any amount of weight off is fantastic and don't forget it.

I succumbed to birthday cake tonight, curtsey of my niece. It's also DH birthday tomorrow so there's going to be cake tomorrow too Blush

73kittycat73 · 08/03/2022 11:27

Thank you. Smile
Ooh, too much cake? Never!! Lol, I understand what you mean. I have a relative with a birthday at the end of the month, then one early-mid April, then Easter! (Do you do Easter Eggs?). For my nieces birthday (She doesn't like cake. Strange child! lol) we're getting her a giant cookie.

WitchDancer · 14/03/2022 11:11

Weigh in day today and I've maintained. I'm pleased with that as I haven't been as careful as last week.

How's everyone else doing?

73kittycat73 · 14/03/2022 11:18

Well done on staying the same WitchDancer. Smile Only 1lb loss for me this week.

WitchDancer · 14/03/2022 22:18

That's brilliant Kitty, well done!

OokSaidTheLibrarian · 15/03/2022 08:06

Morning everyone, may I join you?
I got on the scales today and at 14st 9.6 I'm the heaviest I have ever been, need to loose at least 4 stone. I need to work out a sensible calorie deficit and start moving more. I just need some accountability from others in the same boat!

I'll go back and read the rest of the thread later.

WitchDancer · 15/03/2022 08:49

Morning Ook, of course - the more the merrier. I'm a Disc World fan too, so love your username!

73kittycat73 · 15/03/2022 19:20

Thank you WitchDancer. Smile I must admit, I was feeling rather impatient earlier and wondered why I'm not seeing any difference yet (Too much watching Super Size V Super Skinny where they lose a stone, and about 6inches of their tum!). I've been at it 5 weeks now and lost 17lbs so far...Where it's coming off though I don't know! lol
Hi OokSaidTheLibrarian I started out similarly to you, at 14st 2lb (My heaviest was 16st 8lbs!) I want to get down to 10st 7lbs. I haven't been that weight in over a decade! Shock My only other try was last year, I started at 15st 8lbs and my lowest was 11st 3lbs. I really hope I can do it! (Yes, I put about 3st back on. Grin )

WitchDancer · 15/03/2022 22:00

17lb is a massive loss in 5 weeks Kitty!

I'm still in the 17 stone range and aiming for 12 stone. How did I gain 5 stone???? Shocking to say the least Blush

73kittycat73 · 16/03/2022 20:05

It just creeps on before you realise doesn't it? I have no full length mirrors at home but I saw a photo of me from the side...Shock My belly! It's where I store all my fat. I look like humpty dumpty. Grin How are you doing today? I've done OK so far, was watching QVC earlier and they had the Easter Food Fair on. So much chocolate...drools
Can you tell I have a sweet tooth? lol

WitchDancer · 16/03/2022 22:14

My weight is on my belly too Sad I tend not to wear jeans as I just loose them and am constantly hitching them back up again Blush

I'm with you on the chocolate cravings - there's a jar of chocolate spread with cookie bits in calling my name. I've resisted so far and have been munching on grapes instead. I crave crisps and cheese and toast too though. Basically anything I shouldn't have!

I'm trying to keep my hands occupied though and am desperately trying not to stray away from the diet path. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it and then I remember what my consultant has said and persevere.

Dumpydump · 16/03/2022 22:45

Well done everyone 😊 I'm not going to lie, I'm really struggling 😢 just can't get my head back in the game.

OP posts:
WitchDancer · 17/03/2022 08:15

You can do it Dumpy, just one meal at a time.

73kittycat73 · 17/03/2022 11:15

I fell of the wagon last night. Sad I had a Milky Bar Easter egg, and a Thorntons one (The one I bought for my brother. Blush ). The most chocolate I've had in five weeks!

Dumpydump · 17/03/2022 16:51

Thank you. I'm just so stressed and tired which isn't an excuse but is definitely a trigger 😢 comfort eating to make myself feel better which in turn actually makes me feel worse!

OP posts:
73kittycat73 · 17/03/2022 20:14

Oh Dumpydump. Flowers Go easy on yourself. Tiredness makes everything seem worse. I'm sorry you are so stressed. Is there anything that can be done about what's making you stressed?

Dumpydump · 18/03/2022 06:53

Just too much on my plate (figuratively and literally!!!) Working full time in 2 roles in a challenging environment, training as a counsellor alongside work which includes working as a volunteer an evening a week plus a shed load of paperwork and assignments and somehow 2 young children to try and fit in.

OP posts:
73kittycat73 · 18/03/2022 19:36

Wow, that does sound a lot. Is there no way to delegate any of the full time work? Remember, you can't pour from an empty vessel. Something needs to give, make sure it's not your mental health.

WitchDancer · 18/03/2022 21:38

That is a huge amount to deal with Dump. I hope you're taking a little time for yourself - as Kitty says, you can't pour from an empty cup. I know the feeling of trying to get your energy up with food only too well, and it just doesn't work in the long term.

How are you getting on today Kitty? Having chocolate in the house is sooooo tempting!

73kittycat73 · 18/03/2022 22:05

Not good today. Just want to EAT. Have been eating. lol Starting again tomorrow.
Just looking at fitness trackers on Amazon. Might go for the Fitbit Inspire 2.

WitchDancer · 19/03/2022 08:52

I had a 'just want to eat' day yesterday too. I hadn't got any chocolate in the house so ended up munching my way through the fruit bowl instead. I swear I'm going to look like an orange, the amount I'm eating 😂

Dumpydump · 19/03/2022 17:06

Thanks both. I know I'm running on empty at the moment but it's so hard when there's nothing that can be dropped. Luckily my husband is being very supportive and taking on much more of the childcare and household chores which does help a bit. But just mentally, physically and emotionally drained 😢
