2022 has GOT to be the year I get on track and stop yo-yoing! Who's with me

Started 2021 at 15st 1lb! Lost weight, put some on, lost some, put some back on. Weighed myself today and I'm 15st 2 again!!!! Back to square one! In 5"2 and now back up to a size 16. I feel unhealthy and unattractive but really struggle with the impulse to binge eat, especially when I am stressed or tired. Before having children I lost 8 stone, weighed 10 stone and wore a size 10 so I know I can do it. Just need to stay motivated. I am going to restart with my fitness Pal and try and walk 10000 everyday. Really don't want to be writing the same thing this time next year!

It's good your husband is helping out more Dumpydump. Maybe you can look ahead, to when you've qualified and how happy you will be? Do you have long left to go?
I swear I'm going to look like an orange, the amount I'm eating 😂

Lol! I did end up eating a lot, two Oat So Simples, and loads of low calories chocolate bars I bought from Amazon, it was all I had in. Not going to beat myself up with it though, like I usually would. I've just accepted that this will take time and I'm OK with that.
Speaking of Amazon...Angry I'm with Prime and bought a Fitbit yesterday, due to be delivered today. I've had the front door open all day. I get a message at 4.22pm saying my parcels had been delivered. Go to look, no sign of parcels anywhere. Check Amazon, no photo (They usually just leave them at the door and take a photo.), contact customer support, who is in fact a bot. Says I can't do anything until March 22nd...Angry Never had a problem with Amazon before. They weren't pinched as you have to come into the garden to get to my door. Really frustrating.

WitchDancer · 20/03/2022 08:37

I wonder if they'll be delivered later today Kitty - I've had parcels marked as delivered turn up later that day or the next. Apparently it's the drivers way of not getting penalised for not keeping to their schedule. Fingers crossed!

I don't know what to suggest Dumpy. In your situation I would do the minimum that is required to survive and try to rest to recover. Is that a possibility?

73kittycat73 · 20/03/2022 19:45

I was wondering about that WitchDancer, I thought maybe they were under time constraints and put my delivery down to fit, but will actually deliver on Monday? I hope so!
Weigh in day tomorrow. I've been OK today, but had my two bad days. If I haven't gained, I will be happy. Smile

WitchDancer · 21/03/2022 10:15

Weigh in and I've gained 1lb. I guess it's too much fruit. I haven't tracked what I've done so I'm guessing rather than knowing what's occurring. Guess what I'll be changing this week

73kittycat73 · 21/03/2022 11:08

Sorry to hear that WitchDancer, you must be so disappointed. Good luck for this week. You've got a plan so that's a good start. I lost this week (2lbs) and I think I've found the culprit as to why my weight loss slowed down before. I was eating Slimming World chips. Although I counted the calories and carbs, I didn't lose much weight on them. I hope pasta doesn't have the same effect, bought a bag with my shopping yesterday!

WitchDancer · 21/03/2022 18:35

Well done Kitty, 2lb is great. I treated myself to some Slimming World chips the other day so I hope they won't sabotage me.

73kittycat73 · 21/03/2022 19:13

Hi WitchDancer, and thanks. Smile I shouldn't really be eating chips as I'm a type 2 diabetic. I did do my blood sugar readings before, 20 mins later, then 2 hours later and there was no spike, so I thought I'd be OK. We shall see come next Monday...
Went for a walk today. As well as being a type 2, I'm agoraphobic, haven't been out for a proper walk since last year (The cold weather put me off!). I go with my mum, just round the estate. The sun was lovely but the wind was cold! I realized I only thought about being away from home once. I'm quite cuffed with that! Smile Hopefully it'll be a bit warmer tomorrow as we are going to go for another little walk.

WitchDancer · 21/03/2022 21:38

That's brilliant Kitty, well done for taking that walk.

I've made Skimming World Mac n Cheese tonight. I struggle with standing to cook and concentrating long enough not to burn things so that's a massive thing for me. I'm planning on a sweet potato recipe on Wednesday, body willing.

73kittycat73 · 22/03/2022 19:45

Thanks. Smile Went for another walk today and only worried once. That's really good for me!
Well done on the cooking! Star I hope it tasted nice? (Sounds lovely) Good luck for Wednesday. I don't usually cook from scratch, I'm not a very good cook. Grin lol I also panic if I can smell burning...
My Fitbit turned up today too!
Do you have any plans for tomorrow? I'm waiting on a Drs call. Asking if I can go on HRT. I'll be surprised if it happens, been waiting for a DR to call since the end of February! (Cancellations, wrong Dr, etc.)

WitchDancer · 22/03/2022 22:23

Well done on your second walk! Fingers crossed the doctor comes good this time.

It wasn't bad at all - even the husband and children ate it, so it must have been ok. I had the last portion for my tea tonight.

Tomorrow is a work day, plus I'm trying to get on top of our washing. Normally the children do their own but the youngest hasn't done any for 2 weeks so there's mounds of it, plus mine, DH and my other son to do too. I'm working from home so I'll get on top of it quicker than leaving them to it. I'm looking forward to the peace and quiet of just me and the cat.

It remains to be seen if the cooking goes to plan as I'm very tired. I might enlist child labour to help!

WitchDancer · 22/03/2022 22:37

How are you doing Dumpy?

73kittycat73 · 23/03/2022 19:46

Thanks. Smile Finally got to speak to a dr today and he practically flung the HRT at me! lol I couldn't believe it. Have just been Googling oestrogen and weight loss (Didn't want to Google, 'and gain.' lol) so I'm hoping taking it will help speed up my metabolism and maybe even shift some belly fat? (Hopes, begs etc...lol)
Two weeks of washing? Shock Your machine is going to be busy! Staying at home with just the cat sounds lovely. Smile I hope you get to enjoy it.

WitchDancer · 23/03/2022 22:13

Brilliant, I'm pleased your doctor played ball.

I'm down to 2 loads to wash, 1 in the drier and 1 in the washing machine. I can then start on mine and the cat's pillow.

I also cooked a sweet potato, potato and carrot tagine, which was lovely but maybe a little heavy on the chilli flakes. Much nicer than the takeout we usually have on a Wednesday night. Cheap to cook too!

73kittycat73 · 24/03/2022 20:47

Hi, Smile Aww, it's sweet the cat has a pillow. Did you get to enjoy your quiet day with him/her? Well done on getting through all that washing! And making a dinner from scratch! Glad you enjoyed it more than the take a way. I like spicy food but my tongue doesn't. I can't even handle chilli flavoured crisps! lol I like Katsu curry but again, my tongue doesn't. Sad

WitchDancer · 24/03/2022 22:29

She's spoiled to death bless her. She's 17 and arthritic but she's usually a happy soul. She has got used to us being around though so really sulks if I go out.

We've just done the online food shop and I've ordered ingredients for two meals next week too. I've enjoyed cooking and managed ok so want to carry on doing so if I can. I have got some frozen meals to fall back on if I have a bad week though.

73kittycat73 · 25/03/2022 19:13

Aww, she sounds lovely. I love older cats, they have just as much personality as kittens. We had one cat reach about 21 years old. He was so stubborn and funny. Always tried to run away with the bin men! lol
Good going with your meal planning. It's good that you enjoy cooking. I get impatient with the microwave! lol

73kittycat73 · 28/03/2022 12:11

I weighed today. Originally it said I had lost 1lb, but I moved the scales to a flatter piece of floor and it said I lost 2lb, so I'm going with that. lol Sorting out the garden sheds in a while. My mum wants her smaller mobility scooter out and it's right at the back! Oh well, it's all activity! Grin

WitchDancer · 28/03/2022 17:09

2lb is great, well done!

I haven't weighed yet. I ate my own body weight in sweets and chocolate yesterday though so I'm not hoping for anything good this week. Tomorrow I brave the scales lol

73kittycat73 · 28/03/2022 20:11

Ooh, good luck then. Hopefully the choc hasn't done too much damage. I'm sure you'll be fine. Smile
Did the shed. Thought it was going to take about two days but managed to do it all today in the end.

WitchDancer · 29/03/2022 10:55

I've maintained this week, so no loss but no gain either. I'll take that!

Dumpydump · 29/03/2022 11:51

Hi, sorry I've been a bit distant. Lots going on and just can't seem to get my focus on eating and exercise. I now have bloody covid too! Managed to avoid it for 2 years so very frustrating! I actually weighed myself today and back up to 14st 1lbs which isn't great but could have been worse. Going to try and make the most of 5 days at home to recoup and get back on track with healthy options. I seem to have lost my appetite a bit so maybe that will help with my weight loss!! Silver linings and all that! Sounds like you are both doing so well ☺️ I think what I need to accept is that I am always going to have blips and times where I fall off the wagon. But what I need to change is the blips turning into months and months of giving up. I feel like I've been making so many excuses over the last few weeks but I really do want to get back on track.

Courante · 29/03/2022 15:22

I'm a few months late but your thread was exactly what I was looking for @Dumpydump and snap regarding Covid (+ yesterday) - I feel fine (mild cold - hope you feel ok?) but the slight anxiety (I know there is no logic to this) over missing work has seen a definite dive in my appetite. I've decided to use this silver lining to get back on track too - my blip has lasted far too long now and I'm fed up of it (and the weight gain).

WitchDancer · 29/03/2022 22:19

DumpyDump! I was hoping you'd be back. I'm not doing that well, let's be honest, but I'm still plodding on.

The way I look at it is if someone gave you a bunch of 21 roses you'd put them on a vase to keep them nice. If one died you wouldn't throw all of them away, you'd just get rid of the one that was no good. The same with meals. If you stuff up one meal then don't throw the whole lot, just draw a line under it and do better at the next meal.

WitchDancer · 29/03/2022 22:21

Welcome Courante, the more the merrier!

Dumpydump · 30/03/2022 06:45

Thank you WitchDancer 😊 xx
