2022 has GOT to be the year I get on track and stop yo-yoing! Who's with me

Started 2021 at 15st 1lb! Lost weight, put some on, lost some, put some back on. Weighed myself today and I'm 15st 2 again!!!! Back to square one! In 5"2 and now back up to a size 16. I feel unhealthy and unattractive but really struggle with the impulse to binge eat, especially when I am stressed or tired. Before having children I lost 8 stone, weighed 10 stone and wore a size 10 so I know I can do it. Just need to stay motivated. I am going to restart with my fitness Pal and try and walk 10000 everyday. Really don't want to be writing the same thing this time next year!

Hi Dumpydump. Smile I read a piece a few days ago about downward graphs are never in a straight line. You're a human being with wants and needs, and can goof off on occasion! Forgive yourself and if you want, dust yourself off and start again. Take it one day/afternoon/hour (I've done that when wanting to binge/eat chocolate!) at a time. You've got this. Smile

MrsWobbit · 17/02/2022 09:24

I've ordered a tape measure now!

Dumpydump · 17/02/2022 20:08

Thanks for your support everyone 😊 14st 3.5 today 🙄 my own fault! Anyway back to it. Half term next week so that will be a challenge but hopefully I can get back in the mindset.

OP posts:
WitchDancer · 17/02/2022 22:15

You can drop that in a couple of weeks Dumpy, you've got this x

turnaroundtouchtheground · 18/02/2022 08:41

Hello please can I join you?
I have gained lost and gained again the same 1stone about 3 times in as many years. Big life changes, wine addiction (no other way to describe that sadly) and mid life issues which make everything much harder including weight management.
I started a low ish carb, high veg and protein and healthy fats plan a few weeks ago. Wine had to go out the window although it has started creeping back in… need to elbow it back out sharpish
I have lost 8cm from my waist which is now not in the high risk category anymore. I have no scales at the moment but estimate around 6-8lb off, with 1 stone to go
Dumpy I have done similar with the minstrels, last night it was wine crisps and quality street. I think there is some benefit in throwing a load of calories in every so often during weight loss so you don’t drop your metabolism. Honestly as long as you get back on track all it will do is make the weight loss slower but that’s ok, too quick is no good anyway. It’s a mental as much as physical challenge isn’t it. I’m going on holiday at the weekend and will no doubt eat and drink and be merry but get right back to it afterwards. I’m feeling better in my clothes and more energy etc

I had to change my evening routine and avoid the tv trigger for booze and snacks. I go to bed earlier and read a lot more. Lots of time prepping food which is a pain but I think unavoidable.

I’m doing it by myself so could really do with check in support on here!

MrsWobbit · 18/02/2022 10:13

Dumpy we are the same weight, I would say that's a bit of healthy competition but I'm sat drinking hot chocolate and having a pj day! Grin

73kittycat73 · 18/02/2022 20:01

I have lost 8cm from my waist
That's amazing! Well done. Star I'm hoping I can lose weight from my middle as that is where I carry it.

WitchDancer · 18/02/2022 21:05

Welcome Turnaround! 8cm is brilliant, well done.

Tonight is pizza night, so I've compromised with a thin crust spinach and ricotta instead of the stuffed crust I usually have. I did cave in to trifle rather than the 10 calorie jelly I have been having, but I didn't have the penguins and mini rolls that we order weekly for the DS's. It isn't brilliant but it's better than I would normally be so I'll take it.

looklikeanelephant · 19/02/2022 07:38

I must have lost a big amount of water weight because I'm now 15st, so 7lbs lost, I'll take it! Everyone is doing so well, I love how encouraging everyone is on here! Hope no one was too badly affected by the storm Thanks

WitchDancer · 19/02/2022 09:07

7lb? That's brilliant Elephant, well done!

The storm was a little scary wasn't it. No damage here at home that I know of, but the surrounding area has had quite a bit according to Facebook. We were in the amber zone, so it must have been really bad in the red

Dumpydump · 19/02/2022 10:59

Hi all, thank you so much for your kind and sensible words. Well done to everyone who is doing so well. I definitely need to get myself a tape measure! To be honest I'm really struggling to get myself back on track. I haven't been awful but haven't been anywhere near as mindful as I had been. I am going to York for the week from tomorrow so it's going to be really hard not having control over what I eat but I am determined to try and make sensible decisions. My mum is coming over from abroad in April. (Haven't seen her since 2019 due to covid) and I really want to be feeling confident in my own skin. Welcome to everyone who has joined us. More the merrier xxxx

Going away does have the advantage that you won't be snacking. The chances are you'll be pretty mobile too, so it's not all bad. I hope you have a fabulous time

Dumpydump · 19/02/2022 18:08

Thank you WitchDancer 😊

Well done looklikeanelephant ! Star
If I had treats in last night I would have totally blown it. I had a Muller yogurt instead. Grin Did have two Celebrations chocolates today. They were so good! Weigh in day on Monday.
The storm was bad here. We lost two canvas covers and the swing seat and patio table were broken. The fence is leaning somewhat too. We had more wind, plus rain today.

WitchDancer · 21/02/2022 19:30

Weigh in day - 1lb off. It's not brilliant but I'll take that Grin

73kittycat73 · 21/02/2022 19:41

Good going WitchDancer. Star
I lost 3lbs this week. That's 9lbs of in total.

WitchDancer · 21/02/2022 19:46

Wow Kitty, 3lb is fantastic! Well done Thanks

MrsWobbit · 21/02/2022 20:01

That's great well done!

I can't stop stress eating as I can't find a job, can't believe how unbelievably hard it is. I applied for one on indeed yday and it said 155-165 people had applied already!

Dumpydump · 22/02/2022 09:16

Congratulations on your losses this week 🌟😁👍 unfortunately my trip to York was cancelled because my friend got covid 😢 disappointed but at least it means I can get my head back in the game! Have continued to be a bit unfocussed but back to it properly today. Instead of using the rest of half term as an excuse to relax my diet and exercise I am going to use it as a time to really focus. No work means I can get back to doing my 10000 steps. Will weigh in as usual on Thurs 🤞

WitchDancer · 22/02/2022 10:44

Oh that's disappointing Dumpy. I love your positive spin though, and hope you can get your head straight.

73kittycat73 · 22/02/2022 11:45

Thank you all. Smile Good luck on the job hunt MrsWobbit. Sending positive vibes your way Dumpydump, I'm sure you've got this.
Thanks WitchDancer. Smile
It's so good I don't have sweet food in, my danger time is at night (I suffer from insomnia and used to get up, have a sweet treat and 95% of the time would be enough to get me back to sleep.) when I can't sleep. I was up late last night and if I had anything in, would have demolished it. Had one Alpro yogurt instead. Grin
(Just looking over the thread and notice I wrote almost the same there! lol)

Dumpydump · 24/02/2022 08:14

Thursday weigh in - 14st 1.5lbs 👍 2lbs down from last week and back on track. Thank you so much for the motivation everyone. I would usually have given up and sabotaged myself after a blip so definite progress. Hope everyone is well? xx

OP posts:
WitchDancer · 24/02/2022 08:56

That's brilliant Dumpy, well done! I had a bit of a blip yesterday but today is a new day.

73kittycat73 · 25/02/2022 11:13

Well done on the 2lb loss Dumpydump. Star Smile
How did yesterday go for you WitchDancer?
I'm doing OK after my binge the other night. Think I'm getting into the swing of it atm.

WitchDancer · 25/02/2022 15:58

Hi Kitty, thank you for asking - it wasn't brilliant to be honest. I tend to snack if I'm tired and hurting, which is what happened last night.

This weekend is going to be full on as I'm indoor camping with the Scouts, so no choice in menu but lots of movement so hopefully I'll make up for it.
