New You plan - aiming for 3 stone by Christmas

fallenover · 08/09/2021 15:59

I have stalled at this weight for ages and been on a permanent diet / watching what I eat / walking and keeping active. All to little effect. I feel like I need a boost and to give my metabolism a bit of a shock and get the scales moving downwards.

So I have decided to follow the New You plan and just placed my order.

Anybody want to join me on this journey with the aim of keeping motivated and sharing hints, tips and success stories.

Well done @HalfShrunkMoreToGo, that takes an Iron will!
@Campervan69 there are worse things that could have been binged on, especially with a fried chicken smell wafting around. DH has been strictly cooking for himself since I started and he really likes oven tray food so it hasn't been too bad.
Have either of you had a look at the free workbooks in the files section on the fb group? They are quite good to help you think about the relationship that we have with food and changing mindset.
You don't have to print them out, I look at them online and do the writing in a nice notebook.
I have also stuck in there some pictures of things I want to do or wear when I have lost the weight.
We can do this!

Hi everyone, great to hear you are all doing well and clementines are not the worst thing you could have chosen! My packs finally arrived late yesterday afternoon so today is day 1 - bring it on! I am positive but know the first week will be hard going x

Campervan69 · 07/01/2022 13:15

Weighed in this morning at 11 stone 11 lbs which is astounding tbh. That's 5 days of Cambridge. 9lbs off. Must be a lot of chocolate water going i think. This is my usual weight for starting a diet so the hard bit starts now

Campervan69 · 07/01/2022 13:17

My pack arrived today so am going to do the full week from today. Had the cottage pie which was fine, the salt and vinegar crisps which were very strong tasting and a bite of the peanut bar which I can take or leave tbh. Its sat on my desk now, will have it with a cup of tea later. Good luck to all. Let's see how this goes.

Hippywannabe · 08/01/2022 09:10

You are starting at where I might stop @Campervan69 I started at 18 stones 3 and haven't been under 13 stones since I was 30 (I am now 57).
My ideal weight would be mid 10s but I can't imagine being that weight, I haven't been there since having DS1 who will be 34 in May.
I hope to be in the 12s in February, can't wait to see that on the scales. I will keep going though.
@MrsBeefy how was day 1?

Campervan69 · 08/01/2022 10:03

Hippywannabe the way the weight falls off on these kind of diets is extremely motivating isn't it? I've made the jelly which saw me through a tricky moment last night. Very nice and easy to do.

11 stone 9lbs this morning. Its exciting. Am going to try to get to 10 stone although haven't been there since my wedding day in 1999 Smile

Hippywannabe · 08/01/2022 13:29

I am lighter than when I maarried DH2, 10 stones 2 would be the weight I married DH1. I look tiny in those pics lol. Can't imagine myself being there but maybe!

Campervan69 · 08/01/2022 14:08

Do you have the pineapple boost they are talking about on Facebook? What is it?

Hippywannabe · 08/01/2022 22:10

I do have some, I have it hot though . I do like it but I am not sure it really gives more of an energy boost compared to a cup of coffee. I also think they are quite pricy so only have them when they are free as part of a bundle.

Campervan69 · 09/01/2022 10:12

Qh ok great thanks. Might skip it for now. Am using up Cambridge products I already have like the water flavours to make jelly. Am sure they are all the same.

Hippywannabe · 09/01/2022 13:56

Good idea x

MrsBeefy · 10/01/2022 06:33

Morning @Hippywannabe @Campervan69 sorry for the radio silence it was my sons 9th birthday on Saturday so it was all about birthday parties :) I have found the first 3 days fine! Not been hungry although finding it a struggle to get 4 litres of water only managed 3l on day 1 and 2. Haven’t weighed yet going to wait til I’ve done 7 days
I have been having 2x boosts a day and think I’m going to order some water flavours to make jelly when I do my next bulk order x

Campervan69 · 10/01/2022 09:46

Morning MrsBeefy . My weight loss on The New You diet has been astounding tbh. Having said that I've never managed to stick to anything before so maybe that's had an effect. Weighed in last Monday at 12 stone 6lbs. This morning I am 11 stone 9lbs. So 11lbs off the first week. I know it will slow down now but so pleased and motivated. Hope others are feeling similarly motivated this rainy January morning.

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 10/01/2022 14:17

Wow @Campervan69, I've cheated a bit and had some ice latte drinks and still lost 6lb the first week, decided I need to drop the ice lattes 😭 which are basically an addiction so going cold turkey on those and have finally hit Ketosis today according to the pee dip tests I got on Amazon.

Campervan69 · 10/01/2022 15:08

What is ketosis and is there any other way if knowing you're there? I've been adding berries to my smoothies and having additional protein by way of eggs added to the pancake mix etc. Will this mess it up do you think?

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 10/01/2022 15:17

I'm rubbish at science explanations so hope this helps instead - www.webmd.com/diabetes/type-1-diabetes-guide/what-is-ketosis#1

My understanding is that eggs wouldn't stop ketosis, berries might depending on amount as they contain carbs.

Hippywannabe · 10/01/2022 16:08

What amazing losses! Well done everyone!
My normal weigh day was Tuesday but I switched to Friday because of Xmas.
Last Friday I weighed in at the same as before Xmas, I am tempted to weigh tomorrow.
I don't like weighing on Fridays as it tempts me to have blips over the weekend.

I do mine on Wednesday, a leftover from another group where we did WOW (weigh on wed) but it's worked out to be a good day, gives you a chance to make up for any weekend madness and a bit of a midweek lift if it goes well.

Super thanks 😊 I imagine I am messing myself up then with my endless cups of milky tea. So I never get the non hungry ketosis feeling. Time to crack down on myself maybe.
HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 12/01/2022 18:24

Week 2 and 2lb gone so 8lb loss so far, happy with that and hoping I can get close to 14 lb lost on the first month.

Paperyfish · 13/01/2022 10:19

Hi! I’m just staring on the new you, having switched from exante ( still got a few packs to use up- but they’re the least favourite ones so are for emergencies!).
Just had the peanut bar which I thought was delicious! Didn’t taste of peanuts though!
I’ve already got my 10,000 steps in for the days as walked the big kids to school then walked the baby to my mil so I can wfh for a bit. Legs are doing that twitchy after exercise thing. Just about to down my first 500ml water bottle. Had a bit of a blip yesterday. Had to make a birthday cake for mil. Ate
Some icing. Wasn’t even bloody hungry! So cross with self, but back on it today.

Hippywannabe · 14/01/2022 00:05

Well done, everyone. I am fully back in the swing of back to school, back on plan and on the homeward journey now. Only about 3 stones to go.
I weigh in tomorrow morning and am hoping, to have lost a couple of pounds . My aim is to be in the 12s for February.

MrsBeefy · 14/01/2022 07:42

Great to see everyone is doing well! First weigh in this morning and have lost 10lbs in my first week - really thrilled! Also have more products arriving today (got a 6 week bundle :))

hellsbells99 · 14/01/2022 09:58

This thread is very inspiring. Well done everyone. I have a lot of weight to lose. Does anyone have a referral code I can use? Thanks
