Sparkler · 24/11/2007 20:49

Had to start a new thread peeps as the old one was too long to accept any new messages. How's it going?
I'm sad to say after my positive note on starting the previous thread, I'm having a terrible time of things. I've really slipped. So, I need you to all shout at me and get me back on track. I don't mind what you say or how you say it. I can handle it.

Ok so far today I've had (whilst suffering with a hangover!):

Original Day

Free Foods
Grilled bacon
Scrambled Egg
Banana
Apple
Gallons of orange squash
Coffee

Healthy A
250ml Semi skimmed milk

Healthy B
Hi-Fi Bar

Syns
Tomato Ketchup - 1 syn

Think I'm going to have tuna salad for tea followed by another Mullerlite Yog. Going to drink diet coke tonight as well - no more wine for me tonight, had enough to last me the week last night. Bleeuuurgh.

I don't use butter to make scrambled egg. Just use beaten eggs with a little milk taken from my healthy a choice and mix. Stick in microwave for a couple of mins - stirring halfway through to break up and cook right through.

Thanks Christie, I think I'll try some then . We made the SW passanda today, using chicken. It was very tasty for a SW recipe, but beware! I forgot to allow a HEB for the almonds, as well as a HEB for the chicken, so had to syn the almonds. But if you fancy a curry, it's worth the faff of blitzing the almonds in the food-processor to make the sauce. We're making lamb Dopiaza tomorrow, so I'll report back. As you can tell, I'm on a curry fest right now

Sparkler · 01/12/2007 22:58

I didn't have the tuna salad in the end. Just picked at a packet of ham and had another hi fi bar and another banana followed by a few more gallons of orange squash. Slightly dehyrdated today. Feeling peckish now but am going to bed so I don't slip up.

Sparkler · 02/12/2007 08:37

Darn it, I didn't get to bed without giving in. I was still within my syn allowance - making yesterdays syn total 10. I ended up eating a Rocky chocolate bar - 5 syns and and two cadbury snack shortcake bisuits 2 syns each. I really had to have a chocolate fix, especially after I'd been hungover all day.
Right a new day, a nice new clean food diary to fill up!!! Think it's going to another original for me today as we are having a roast dinner later.

That's you and me in the same boat then Sparkler! I managed to gorge 28 1/2 syns yesterday, so I'm aiming to reduce my syns to less than 10 for the next few days. Sods law says, today I am craving chocolate

kid · 02/12/2007 19:05

I managed really well today, Sundays usually go terribly wrong for me!
I had a healthy dinner which consisted of
grilled chicken
boiled bacon
2 x 227g jacket potato (both HE b's)
carrots
cauliflower
I had a very small amount of gravy, but nothing was roasted swimming in fat and it was very tasty.

I've also filled up on fruit and will have a mullerlight in a minute.

My meals are planned up until Thursday so I think I will have a good week.
Tomorrow will reveal how this week has been. In a way, I don't want to weigh myself incase the scales don't show a loss. I wasn't very good on Monday or Tuesday but the rest of the week I have been very good. The only problem I've had is, I haven't been using both of my HE b's each day. I don't know how or why I didn't use them. But I am hoping I will still have lost weight.

Horsiemummy · 02/12/2007 20:36

hi all - im new here, hope you dont mind me joining in. ive been a SW member for 11 weeks and lost 1 1/2 stone. but seem to have just stopped lately - i went from losing 1-2 pound a week to maintnining then i gained 1/2 pound - and id been GOOD!!!. any one else had this - im scared to weigh in tomorrow cos if i dont have a good loss (i have been sainlty this week and done a food diary) im afraid ill give up completely.

Any tips?

kid · 02/12/2007 21:25

I think its advisable to look at your loss over a month rather than a week. You have done really well so far, maybe you need to lower your sins or take up some more exercise? I don't currently do any exercise so for me to increase it would be easy!

I haven't been having much luck on SW, do you attend the group or are you doing it at home? I have been looking at their website for support, have you used that?

I did weigh myself this morning, and I have lost 3lb. I am so pleased with that loss, its a good start. Just another X amount to go now!

lurcherlass · 03/12/2007 18:28

Well done Kid, that's a brilliant loss, you must be so chuffed

Misdee · 03/12/2007 18:34

i have been ill since thursday, and have been living on toast as dont have the energy to cook. fortunatly my family have been good with quick easy cook meals and dh has helped out.

i did just have SW chips and tesco chicken kiev. no idea on syn value. really not worried.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 03/12/2007 21:50

Just finished my first week at SW, lost 7lb, really chuffed. I have 11 or so stone to lose though, so it's a drop in the ocean just yet! Hoping to lose a stone by christmas, fingers crossed.

Is anyone going to be sticking to the plan on christmas day? I don't think the dinner will be a problem, it's more the chocolates and puddings which will bring me down!

Misdee · 03/12/2007 21:53

i will be usiong flexiable syns over xmas

I intend to have a few days off over Christmas. I am hoping to have lost a decent amount by then so that I can afford to put a little bit back on and not lose any sleep over it.

Whatever happens over Christmas, I know I will be going back to SW (as I always tend to do)

hansnava · 04/12/2007 10:21

hi all,
just wondering has anyone been successful doing sw at home insted of going weekly weigh in. i know the temptation is there to eat what u want but if ur determined to keep doing it, then can u do it at home??

lurcherlass · 04/12/2007 12:54

Hello Hansnava, i have lost nearly 2 stone doing SW at home. MY mate lost 4 stone going to classes and she gave me all the info I neeeded to get started. I don't have scales at home, so I weigh myself approx every 2 weeks at the vets where my mate works.
Any soup lovers will like Morrisons Vegetable & Pasta Mix. I made soup with it today, with loads of veggies, all free on green. It has pearl barley red lentils, split peas etc..yummee!

porkycamper · 04/12/2007 17:03

Hi there, just as I was about to weigh in for my 1 stone award, I only got carted off to hospital with a bloodclot in my leg
I've spent the last 2 weeks sticking to the diet but haven't been very active and can't seem to get any weight off, I'm blaming the lack of exercise.
Just wondered if anyone could tell me if on my return to the class will I have to pay for the 2 weeks I couldn't go due to hospital appointments? I did phone my consultant to let her know I wouldn't be able to attend for a few weeks. She's quite new and sticks to the rules.

nikkid21 · 04/12/2007 18:16

Hi Porky
Sorry to hear about your illness, hope you feeling better now.
As you phoned your consultant your should be OK. You are allowed to take 6 weeks holiday per year (from the session that you start). So she should just count the two missed meetings as holiday and you won't have to pay.

Chloe55 · 04/12/2007 18:41

Hiya can I join in please? I want to lose 2stone (1stone13lbs to be exact ) and joined slimmingworld last night. The leader thought I was mad as she wasn't expecting anyone to start before christmas! My thinking is though, I can attempt to lose/maintain over christmas as appose to have to try and get 3 stone off after! Gonna read this thread through now to know who's on here, read your stories and see if I an pick up any tips.

porkycamper · 04/12/2007 21:25

nikkid21, Thanks for the info.
Chloe55, every pound you lose before xmas is well worth it. Last year I started 4 weeks before going on holiday I lost 12lbs, put on 7lbs while on holiday so I came back home at least 5lbs lighter than I would have had I not started it until after my hols.

loobysmum · 04/12/2007 21:43

Hi everyone

Haven't been on for ages and have stopped going to class - I shudder to think what I'm up to weight-wise as a result .....December probably isn't a great time to think about going back on the plan, but I thought I'd get some inspiration from your posts and I'm already considering making Peter's sauce - sounds yummy!

Hello to the names I recognise - and to the ones I don't. Hope you lovely people can help me find my motivation again ....
