NEW SLIMMING WORLD THREAD - IT'S NEARLY CHRISTMAS - HOW ARE WE DOING????

Sparkler · 24/11/2007 20:49

Had to start a new thread peeps as the old one was too long to accept any new messages. How's it going?
I'm sad to say after my positive note on starting the previous thread, I'm having a terrible time of things. I've really slipped. So, I need you to all shout at me and get me back on track. I don't mind what you say or how you say it. I can handle it.

OP posts:
Misdee · 26/11/2007 13:47

no, not all ruined. i once had well over 100 syns in a weekiend and still pu.llled it back to a 1lb loss.

bohemianbint · 26/11/2007 13:59

oh, that's good to hear. I dunno if I should have no syns and really limit rice/pasta etc, or whether to go on a bit of a soup diet til Thurs (really don't fancy that), or try to work to WW rules til Thurs. Any thoughts?

Misdee · 26/11/2007 14:05

just really fill up on free foods and keep your syns to 5 or so. that should work.

hazel158882 · 26/11/2007 14:06

Hi Everyone.
I'm hoping I can come and join you.

I am 11weeks preggo with my 3rd child and need to lose at least 5 stone (hense the doc doesn't want me gaining much this time round )

I used to live in Newcastle in the UK but 2 years ago we moved to Donegal in Ireland (My DH is originally from here and he wanted to come back home)
Well, slimming world has absolutley nothing to do with the ROI at all so I have no choice but to do this on my own and I have had to order the books from Ebay (bloomin rip off I tell ye!)
But I'm ready to give it my all (God knows I don't need to gain any more weight!)

Anyway I just thought that I would come and say hi to you all, you seem such a supportve bunch!
I will try to get online most days (depending how tired I am lol)
So I hope to get to know you all soon!

Hazel

Misdee · 26/11/2007 14:10

you know you can do SW as an online member as well?

hazel158882 · 26/11/2007 14:16

Hi Misdee.
Yes I tried to join online but they don'e accept Irish debit cards (typical eh)

Still I wont let that stop me, I'm determined to do this!

Thanks for the suggestion though!

lurcherlass · 26/11/2007 18:39

home made cherry streusel cake....ooh MamaG where do you live, I'm coming round for tea
I met some freinds last night who hadn't seen me since July and they were suprised at "how trim" I looked. Seeing as I was having a real bloaty day, I was chuffed. Anyone else get bloaty? any remedies?

fireflyfairy2 · 26/11/2007 22:08

Hi Hazel Welcome

I'm not blaoty, just fat

Had a shit week [see student parent threads]

But will try my best.. haven't eaten much apart from crap tbh.

kid · 26/11/2007 23:30

I weighed in today, and I lost a big fat 0. Nevermind, I suppose its always better than gaining.
I always start the week telling myself that I am going to be really good, then by Friday, thats out the window!

MamaG · 27/11/2007 08:41

Tips for getting rid of bloating - fart, a lot

hazel158882 · 27/11/2007 09:35

Hi Girls.
Thanks for the welcome fireflyfairy I really appreciate it!

Had a good enough day yesterday and hoping for the same again today.

Kid - your right a zero loss is ALWAYS better than gaining, but weekends can be so tricky at times!

lol at your solution MamaG!

lurcherlass · 27/11/2007 13:18

Hee hee, Mamma, I already do that!! It's real maddening tho, to wake up with a flattish tummy, to find by the evening, you're like a balloon (and I hadn't eaten much that day).
Who was it that said they eat those activia yoghurts to help with bloating? Is it worth a try? are they free? vrrrp!

missiesparkles · 27/11/2007 16:50

had my weigh in today, lost 1.5lbs which brings me to my magical first stone!!

lurcherlass · 27/11/2007 18:21

Well done Missie!

missiesparkles · 27/11/2007 18:39

thank you kindly lucherlass
bloody proud of myself - I've got a really long way to go but I'm now an 1/8th of the way there so I'm pleased!!

I made the all bran/chocolate cake thats the featured recipe this month - its not too bad. a lot better than the cous cous ones. I may have to start fiddling with the recipe to make a mince pie type affair

lurcherlass · 27/11/2007 19:42

ooh you are spooky Missie, I was looking at that earlier and wondering what it'd be like. I was gonna post a "Has anyone tried it" posting [spooky emoticon]...
I haven't weighed for a while, but today I had a pair of size 16 trousers on and spent the whole day hitching them up

missiesparkles · 27/11/2007 19:50

ooooh... how odd..!
let me know what you think of it... it def wins point for being so easy to make + not tasting of cous cous LOL

bet you felt fab hitching your size 16s up

I haven't really noticed any massive change in my clothes, the only places that seem to be any smaller are my waist + my back rather randomly???

lurcherlass · 27/11/2007 19:58

Isn't it funny how your body decides where to let the flab go first? In the past, my tits always shrank and me bum stayed huge. On SW, this time, my boobs have gone UP a cup size and my thighs are a lot smaller. Maybe it's my age Other girls (in previous posts) have found their boobs have got bigger. Now that IS spooky

missiesparkles · 27/11/2007 20:26

indeed, it is odd.
my bum will never loose weight lol (cheers bajun mum ) however rather skillfully, my boobs have not lost any weight AT ALL. glory be!!

andyrobo237 · 27/11/2007 20:26

missiesparkles - I have joined the same club as you!!! Got my lovely blue sparkly stone sticker today - wooppeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Am I happy - oh yes you bet I am! For those who have seen my posts before, I am on the 'scenic route' - half a pound or maintain most weeks - lose on average 2 - 3 lbs a month! Well this week I lost 2.5lbs! That is the most ever!

The only thing I did different was to snack less and have mostly green days - I went back to basics and planned two days at a time - loads of jacket potatoes and free veg - will be trying the same this week - we are off to Center Parcs on Friday - back Sunday night

Sparkler - get your lovely bum back on track - lets have a race! See who can lose consistantly each week between now and christmas - doesnt matter how much each week - just a case of getting back to basics and starting as if you are a newbie! Also have you tried changing what you eat - try a new brekkie or lunch or snack? All the big weight loosers this week in our class had done something different this week.

Glad to see everyone else is fit and well!!!!

missiesparkles · 27/11/2007 21:29

yay for the sparkly blue sticker club, whoop whoop!!

if anyone knows the 'peter's spicy sauce' from the list that aimsmum so kindly forwarded to us, make it. its good. I put a sweet ramiro pepper in it and an entire jar of jalpenos in it though. its dammed hot, but I really liked it.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 27/11/2007 23:17

Hi, I just started with SW yesterday, can I join your thread? I lost the slimming world books today under a big pile of washing and didn't find them til this evening so had to wing it and hope I didn't break any rules.

I had cornlakes and an apple for breakfast, a mushroom/tomato omlette for lunch, homemade veg stew with added spaghetti for dinner, with jaffa cakes, raw carrot and four french toasts with two extra light laughing cow cheese triangles for snacks. Does that sound ok?

Sparkler · 28/11/2007 14:17

Hi all. And welcome to the new people. It's been an okayish week. Have done loads of excercise this week - 1.5 hours at gym on Monday, 1 hour Total Tone class last night and, for the first ever time, I did yoga for an hour this morning. It was really good although my tum needs to shrink more so I can do some of the moves a little more elegantly than I did .

OP posts:
lurcherlass · 28/11/2007 15:51

ooh I like the sound of 'peter's spicy sauce' but then I like a bit of flavour in my food. Can anyone tell me how to make it

lurcherlass · 28/11/2007 15:57

just re-reading your post Hazel, can you subscribe to SW magazine and get it sent by post to ROI? If not, do you want me to buy it for you and send it over?
My DH ir Irish, but his clan live near Cork. A freind of mine lived in Gartahork and said it was the windy-est place on the planet!!
