Would anyone like to join me ?

Lottieskeeper · 30/06/2021 19:21

I would love to join you, I could do with some accountability to keep me on track. My husband keeps trying to give me treats and says I look lovely as I am, but it's no good for my health.

I'm calorie counting using MFP. Sticking to 1375 cals.
Been really sticking to it for a week and lost half an inch around my waist.

I'm 5 ft 2 & a shocking 16.5 stone.

My DD (5) is self isolating this week so absolutely no exercise at all. I usually manage a brisk 20 min walk that gets me nice and sweaty.

WhoUsedMyName · 30/06/2021 20:02

@Lottieskeeper hello! Thanks for joining me :)
My dh is my worst nightmare he's exactly the same he's a feeder, I have no will power when it comes to chocolate. I feel disgusting I've ballooned I'm 16.1 5ft 6 have been isolating for over a week now as our whole household got covid. I've put on about 3.5 stone In 2 years Blush since lock down happened really.
Is that my fitness pal?

WhoUsedMyName · 30/06/2021 20:07

Do you weigh all your food out ? I find it so hard cooking for a big family. Also I'm a huge snacker

OP posts:
Lottieskeeper · 30/06/2021 22:53

Yes I mean my fitness pal.
I do weight pretty much everything at the moment. I find if I don't I really underestimate how much I'm having. I got some digital scales and it doesn't take long to scan the barcode of something then weight how much I'm having.

It helps that my 2 kids eat there tea separately to me and DH so if I'm making something like chilli I just weigh everything I put in and count exactly half as mine. It would be harder to work out if i was splitting it between 2 adult portions and 2 kids portions.

I've always been big but my weight has crept up and crept up. I'd like to be a size 14 for my 40th birthday next April. I'm a 22 now. I've never been less than a 16 my whole adult life.

Snacking in the evening is my biggest downfall.

Lottieskeeper · 01/07/2021 01:12

So calories came in at 1420 today, not on target but close enough for a fatty like me.

Wednesday is my start/end of the week day as I'm taking part in a NHS 12 week challenge and the scales are at 16st 3 and my waist is 49.5".

I don't tend to weigh more than once maybe twice a week because I find it disheartening how slow the scales go down.

WhoUsedMyName · 01/07/2021 06:48

Amazing well done!
Sounds good I've just downloaded it.
We eat so many take aways it's actually disgusting. Also my dh can be a pain he likes what he likes & i can end up cooking 3 different meals. If I want somthing different. I've always been big but never this big . I'd be happy at a 14 too and current am a 22 so I think we have the same journey really.
I never drink enough water either I'm lazy with that I drink a lot of coffee which isn't good

OP posts:
Lottieskeeper · 01/07/2021 08:59

I drink loads of tea and coffee too. I used to have it with whole fat cows milk but I've swapped to Alpro unsweetened soya milk which is around half the calories and I actually love the taste! I measure out 200ml in to a jug and put that in my fitness pal. And use it throughout the day. When it's gone I drink coffee black.

I've been trying to drink more water as I hear it can really help. I have a 500ml bottle that I fill up and drink at least 2 sometimes 3 of. I have to have a little no added sugar squash because I'm not keen on water.

Takeaways can be really hard to know how much calories are in them, we've mainly swapped to the supermarket ready meal version because they have the calories on them.
Some times you just need a takeaway though, and I google 'calories in' whatever I have and do an estimate from that. Shish kebabs aren't too bad for calories.

WhoUsedMyName · 01/07/2021 09:30

Oh well done you! Yes I love soya milk so I could easily swap that, doing the jug is such a great idea as I'm sure I use more than I realise. My latest trick is weaning the baby like making him toast which I know he will eat one stick of and I eat the other 3/4! So that can bloody stop

SpacePug · 01/07/2021 09:49

Can I join you both? I too have 6st to lose. I'm 31, 5"4. I'm using Nutracheck as I prefer it to MFP as it's UK based so easier to find the right item to log.
I've lost 4lb so far in 2.5weeks. I worked out my calorie allowance using the TDEE calculator, it gives me a higher amount than MFP/Nutracheck which is more sustainable. I've lost weight in the past on WW, that was about 7 years ago though. Currently the heaviest I've ever been 😭
This morning I've had cup of tea and 1.5 bagel thins with flora light and cheese - 367 calories so far

WhoUsedMyName · 01/07/2021 10:21

Of course @SpacePug welcome 🤗
Im sure lack of sleep plays a huge part of my picking and sweet tooth or maybe that's an easy excuse. This morning I've had two coffees & overnight oats

OP posts:
Lottieskeeper · 01/07/2021 10:32

Hi @SpacePug let's do this!

@WhoUsedMyName I'm definitely suffering from a similar problem, mine isn't a baby anymore but a very fussy toddler who one day will gobble something down and the next won't touch it so there's lots of leftovers. So hard to resist leftovers!
This morning I've had quarter of a weetabix when I don't usually do breakfast. Made sure I logged it though.

WhoUsedMyName · 01/07/2021 10:39

Oh it never ends @Lottieskeeper my eldest is 13 and now but with all the other dc I still do it even make extra food knowing they won't eat it so I can eat more it's so disgusting

OP posts:
WhoUsedMyName · 01/07/2021 11:14

I've just cancels my graze subscription as apparently I have to eat the whole box as soon as it turns up Shock

Menora · 01/07/2021 11:33

I’m doing the NHS 12 week challenge too (on the app) and also set myself goals on Strava to walk 50k, walk for 30 hours in July.

I get Hello Fresh or Gousto healthy option meals for our dinners and then try really hard to eat well breakfast and lunch

I have 4 stone to lose really but going for 3 to start

WhoUsedMyName · 01/07/2021 15:28

Hi @Menora I do love hello fresh as you don't have to plan but were a family of 7 so works out pricey.
What's everyone having for dinner?
Everyone been good today?

OP posts:
Lottieskeeper · 01/07/2021 15:48

We're having chicken and vegetable kebabs done on the bbq with flatbreads, salad and a yogurt and mint dip. Its pretty calorific because I use thigh fillets because they are tastier. Might try it with breast next time or just cut down on the amount of meat but I do really enjoy this meal.
Had bacon medallions and tomato in warburton's sandwich thins for lunch.
Ive used all my calories up (1359) so no snacks for me this evening. I need to get some willpower from somewhere.

Menora · 01/07/2021 16:04

You know what I was spending a fortune on shopping and most of it went in the bin, I honestly find HF has changed all that nothing is thrown away and it’s worth the £ for the fact I just pick the food, arrived, cook and eat it! No shopping required or matching up food dates!

We have a chicken dish from Gousto tonight which is a healthy option I am looking forward to it

Menora · 01/07/2021 16:05

@Lottieskeeper
If you cut out the bread you will gain those back x

Lottieskeeper · 01/07/2021 16:32

@Menora I know bread is my biggest problem. I can't leave it alone. I've massively cut back. And I've managed to give up the white sliced type but it's just bread products. So many of my favourite meals revolve around bread.
I've found the warburton's sandwich thins helpful in that they're small and only 99 calories.
The flat breads are Sainsburys own and 97 calories. I'm having 1 so less than 200 of my allowance for today wasted on bread, not too bad.

katscamel · 01/07/2021 18:51

I'm biting the (low calorie, fat free, sugar free) buklet and asking to join.... I'd love to lose about 7st...(by tomorrow please weight loss fairies)... but in the short term...well ...as much as I can.
My biggest problem...food....I eat it... I enjoy it....arrrggghhhhhhh. Bread is definitely my downfall...especially sourdough but luckily quite expensive so don't buy it often....am also a bit of a crisp lover....yum.

WhoUsedMyName · 01/07/2021 19:07

@katscamel !!!!!! I want all of the above including devouring bread 🥖

OP posts:
Menora · 01/07/2021 19:13

I really love wine. I am missing it 😂

WhoUsedMyName · 01/07/2021 19:14

@Lottieskeeper dinner sounds amazing could eat that! I ate half a loaf of crusty bread and real butter the other day kept going back cutting slabs Blush
I've had stir fry tonight & made veg soup all very boring.
How have you worked out your calories?

OP posts:
WhoUsedMyName · 01/07/2021 19:14

@Menora I've never been a wine drinker but chocolate I could bath in!
