@WheresMyTweezers hi! Welcome
I've gone quiet because I've been a big fat cheat on myself and I'm miserable and it's time of the month! I could carry on and make u miserable too 😂
Well done on your loss and amazing you are finding the triggers

I've had a good day for calories 1111! Will probably have an extra snack in a bit to bump it up a bit.

Tried making Pepsi max chicken from a pinch of nom website for tea tonight. I was very sceptical because it sounds pretty weird but it was so nice! Added loads of extra veg so well over my 5 a day ( for a change)

Tomorrow is a new day @WhoUsedMyName. start a fresh!

devuskums · 10/07/2021 00:33

@WhoUsedMyName don't give up! On my first visit my health coach at the leisure centre said move on, don't punish yourself with another bad day because you gorged like a pig on truffles yesterday 🤣🤣🤣 I think I am going to like her!!

WheresMyTweezers · 10/07/2021 08:58

Yes, completely agree, write the bad day(s) off and move on.

Another 1lb off for me which makes it 5 so far in July and 11 overall. I'm really happy with that although I appreciate it's reflective of the amount I have to lose (a lot!) and comes off the back of a week watching the same pound go on and off each day.

WhoUsedMyName · 10/07/2021 09:06

Thanks everyone yes your all right new day today I've just started with a coffee with soya milk always taste more exciting lol

Tomorrow is Monday and the start of another...this week I'll be good week..... I'm working from home this week which strangely enough means I'll get more exercise in as on normal work days I get a lift to/from the office and am very lazy when I get home....average steps.. 7.5k
I've just downloaded the Why we eat (too much) audiobook which will give me something to listen to while I walk and will start listening to my Paul McKenna audio before bed.
My fridge is full of healthy things, fruit, veg , smoked salmon, fish sticks etc so....fingers crossed.

Lottieskeeper · 11/07/2021 17:02

Well hope everyones day is going better than mine?
I've had a 1 finger twix, a packet of quavers and a bowl of cheerios today. So all just rubbish empty carbs.
Made me feel really hungry but I'm holding out until my roast gammon, new potatoes and broccoli tonight.

My DH is out watching the football with his friends tonight, I would usually have a big bar of chocolate when I get an evening to myself. Going to make do with a meringue nest and some berries.

WheresMyTweezers · 12/07/2021 07:31

@katscamel I'm reading it at the moment and although I've not finished there are some things which have blown my mind! The gist of me not really being hungry but hormone signals being blocked because I'm obese has actually been game changing, after a lifetime of thinking I had to counter my large appetite and "listen to my body".

@Lottieskeeper that doesn't actually sound too bad calorie wise? Anyway, today's a different day, write yesterday off square your shoulders and move on.

Scales today show 7lb off for me in July, but I'm going away this month and a bit worried I'll not be able to stick to healthy options but we'll see. I'm up to 13lb in total and hopefully will get another 1lb off by Wednesday which will be a stone in a month (which is loads, but I have loads to lose).

So are we having a weigh in today??

I'll go first
Start weight 16st 7lb
Today's weight 15st 12lb

Just a 1.5lbs down this week but I'm happy because I've eaten lots of junk (within calorie allowance) and done no exercise at all.

katscamel · 12/07/2021 19:15

I think my scales are broken or maybe the battery just needs replacing as there will be a difference of about 6lb from day to day....and as much as I'd like to say 6lbs have magically disappeared .....they haven't.
I'm managing without too much bread at the moment....but it's tough....and crisps are far too delicious to give up.... trouble is I can easily get through a big bag.
1st day of working from home again today as having some IT refit done. Actually it's been a good day....i was out the house at 5.30 and went for a walk (in the rain).... food intake has been OK ish...no crap...so maybe ....just maybe it might work (oh and may have a hot date in a couple of weeks so something for motivation).

WhoUsedMyName · 13/07/2021 17:23

Well done @Lottieskeeper been so busy with work and I've been awful really awful eating everything in sight!

@WhoUsedMyName that's great, well done.

Menora · 14/07/2021 06:55

I haven’t posted much because I am not losing anything. Nothing. Nope. I am drinking all the water and eating low fat diet with not too many calories and cut out sugar and walking a lot more steps. A month in and no idea what I am doing wrong

Lottieskeeper · 14/07/2021 14:13

@Menora have you measured your self before and then now? Sometimes you can see a difference on the tape measure that you don't see on the scales.

I was thinking I'd 'only' lost 1.5lbs this week but the nhs app wants you to record your waist measurements each week and I've actually lost a whole inch off my waist.

Or if you didn't measure before maybe you have some trousers that were a bit too small? You could try on and see if they fit better.

I'm so pleased to get back into a pair of size 18 skinny jeans; even if they are stretchy and I have the mother of all muffin tops its still a great way to show myself that all my hard work isn't for nothing Smile

Menora · 14/07/2021 14:39

Yes I’ve lost on my waist I think - it is noticeable
I am on the same app

Lottieskeeper · 14/07/2021 16:20

That's great news then.
I'm not sure about you but my weight seams to go down (or up Blush) in steps so maybe you'll notice a big jump down next week.

I'm finding the app helpful, are you? I'm logging on My fitness pal too because I like being able to scan barcodes and look up things. 1 improvement to either app would be the ability to log water consumption. Sometimes I loose track.

devuskums · 15/07/2021 08:01

I have lost 2lb this week! Very happy with that. Maybe the fibre capsules are the answer, they have certainly helped me avoid eating in the evening.

WhoUsedMyName · 15/07/2021 17:00

So I started slimming world hopefully it will stop me cheating myself

OP posts:
katscamel · 16/07/2021 02:47

Another night of no sleep....not because I've been doing anything exciting....too much bloody work that should have been done....before it was even set.
Anyway...problem with me, when I'm tired my body turns into a carb monster and anything carby needs to be demolished....veggie 'sausage' rolls, cakes, bread etc.
How on earth can I get myself out if this and what have you found as a replacement for the bread etc?

WhoUsedMyName · 16/07/2021 11:32

I'm the same @katscamel I'm always tired and that's the worst I reach for sugar though anything chocolate. I can't get my mind set out of it

OP posts:
Lottieskeeper · 18/07/2021 11:48

Hows everyone else coping in the heat?
Its making me not want proper meals but little snacks and that's not helping keep to the calories.

On the scales this morning I've not lost anything since last week. But I've lost another inch off my waist. And my bra is feeling very empty.
Anyone else loose there boobs before anything else?

WhoUsedMyName · 19/07/2021 20:09

I'm struggling too! Keep snacking little crap things at a time and ice cream. I always lose my boobs first always like spaniels ears now

OP posts:
WheresMyTweezers · 20/07/2021 07:47

@katscamel bread is my nemesis! I've cut out all white bread/rolls etc and have maybe 1-2 slices of seeded/rye bread. Calories wise it's about the same but I don't think it sets off cravings the way white bread does and I have to work harder to eat it as it's a bit chewier. I'm not sure there is a direct replacement though.

@Lottieskeeper you're right about the steps. My loss seems to have stalled this week (maybe even going the wrong way) but I'm doing all the right things. I'm being motivated by thought of seeing a nice fat loss show up when I'm not expecting it.

And yes to the sunshine snacking...overall I'm still keeping it pretty light but an ice cream and g&t yesterday...
