Let me know if you are on this - there are a couple of threads but can't tell which is current.

(But please don't bother commenting if just to tell me not to do it - I am aware of the chances of regaining the weight at the end, but need something to motivate me in the early stages out of the current mess I've got myself into. I have tried many options, have had various forms of eating therapy and food coaching and understand what does/doesn't work for me)

I'm aware I need to drinks loads of water, any other tips? I have 35 kg to lose (!!) :-)

Hello,
I’m on day 3 of Cambridge! I’m glad you’ve posted as I was looking for someone to chat to and all the other posts have been running for a while.

Have you done Cambridge before? What step are following?

ramarama · 13/05/2021 12:49

Hi!
So i'm doing Step 1, and will be until end of July I believe. 3 products.

Sadly my food delivery went missing so hasn't yet arrived, and I haven't started. (Slightly annoying as a friend was inspired by me and bought a cheaper alternative product and is on her day 4 already, doing well!)

How have you found first few days? :-)

Have you considered getting some slim fast shakes or any other meal replacement shakes from supermarket? Just so you can get started, you’ll find Cambridge easier once you’ve cut out the carbs and started increasing your water? Just a thought?

I’m feeling better today now I’m on day 4, I always find the first few days a struggle as the temptation to start a different day is too real, but I feel in the right mindset this time.

Have you done Cambridge before?

ramarama · 13/05/2021 13:38

no never tried it before. tbh i'm flat out today (job interviews!) so it's easier to just wait for the delivery of the real stuff - don't have time to get to the shops anyway.

Hopefully you've made it through the tough days already

When will your products be arriving? Have they been sent to you from a consultant?

I’ve done the diet before I lost over 7 stone about 6 years ago .. however I had another baby and then a really difficult couple of years and i have gained some of the weight back, but I did maintain my loss for about 3-4 years! I even became a consultant myself - but that didn’t work out but I know it works, I don’t feel hungry at all now it’s the first 3 days which can be a bit challenging x

ramarama · 14/05/2021 10:54

that's really good to hear! Glad you managed to keep it off for so long, well done.

Yes, mine are from a consultant. it's not her fault, has been a major DHL mess up and she's trying to sort it.

OP posts:
Eliards2012 · 14/05/2021 12:24

Oh no what a nightmare! Fingers crossed they get it sorted soon so you can get started. What products have you chosen?

ramarama · 15/05/2021 22:51

A mix of shakes, bars, smoothies and some meals. THought I should try everything to see what works

OP posts:
Sideorderofchips · 16/05/2021 09:05

Yes I'm half way through week one and feeling okay!

My consultant recommended that I get a variety and one of each to see what I liked and didn't like

So far I love the smoothies, the salted caramel bites and some of the shakes. The porridge is nice. Not overly keen on the pasta sachets. The pesto pasta has a strong after taste!

I'm also drinking soda water as I find it makes me feel fuller.

I'm glad there's a thread for this!

Sideorderofchips · 16/05/2021 09:06

The bars are alright. I like the fact they are quite chunky so you feel like you are getting loads and they do hit the spot

ramarama · 16/05/2021 21:40

So my parcel is still missing and won't arrive until Tuesday. I've bought some slimfast Keto shake powder from Boots and have had mostly just that for the last two days, hoping it will at least help me ease into it more quickly when my proper stuff arrives

I did Cambridge to lose weight to help me get pregnant. It worked well for me. Obviously stopped as soon as I conceived. Haven't gone back to it as I've started running and that's changing my body so much!

Eliards2012 · 16/05/2021 23:38

@ramarama at least you have a date for your parcel! Good choice getting something so you could make a start in the meantime it will definitely make it easier for you once your products arrive!

@Sideorderofchips I’m not keen on the meals either, I pretty much live on the bakewell bars, cherry smoothie and the choc shake but I add coffee to that sometimes, especially flavoured coffee works well! How much have you got to lose? What step are you on?

@TheFutureIs good luck with your running Smile

Sideorderofchips · 17/05/2021 17:38

I've got a good 7 stone to lose over all and I'm stage 2 at the moment

Eliards2012 · 17/05/2021 18:05

About the same as me then! I’m doing step 2 aswell.

How has everyone’s day been?

Sideorderofchips · 17/05/2021 21:52

Alright here. Weigh in is Wednesday. Avoided the biscuits in the staffroom

rooarsome · 17/05/2021 21:53

Step 2 here and 6 weeks in, I've lost 23lbs Smile

tiredvommachine · 17/05/2021 22:00

Hi all, day 5 just finishing here on step 2. Not my first rodeo with this diet but lockdown just made my food choices all rubbish. I've owned it and am finally in the headspace to deal with it! Love the cherry bakewell bars and the banoffee 😋

Eliards2012 · 17/05/2021 23:03

@rooarsome - well done that’s a great loss so far! Do you have much more to lose?

@tiredvommachine - lockdown has been really tough with making good decisions food wise!! I agree I am finally in the right headspace to do this now - it’s half the battle! I haven’t tried the banoffee bars but I really love the bakewell bars they are so yummy n feel like a treat!

@Sideorderofchips - well done for avoiding the biscuits. Good luck for weigh in on Wednesday!

ramarama · 18/05/2021 11:18

So how come people are just starting but allowed to be on step 2?

Is it
a) if you don't have all that much weight to lose or

b) if you just think your lifestyle needs to allow you to add one meal of real food for you to stick to it? (eg cooking for family etc)

I feel I need real results in the early days to get motivated, so I will def stick to stage 1 for as long as i can - apparently until end of July. Just curious

OP posts:
tiredvommachine · 18/05/2021 13:54

My consultant is my best friend (literally!) and she has said anecdotally that there is minimal difference between step 1 and 2 weight wise so I choose to have a 200k meal in the evening to try and keep some semblance of normality, eating with the family. I have 3.5 stone to lose so I'm no pixie Wink

Sideorderofchips · 18/05/2021 17:45

Mine told me to start step two because I have kids as well to feed so can eat with them in the evening

ramarama · 19/05/2021 11:37

My missing parcel has finally appeared! Just started and so TODAY is Day 1. Feeling pumped! (not really ;-)

I think the major appeal for me is not having to think about/shop for other food, so i don't think i mind missing the actual own meal. Ask me in a week!

OP posts:
tiredvommachine · 19/05/2021 14:25

Yay @ramarama, good luck! The plan works, drink your water and take it day by day. First couple of days I find are the hardest but you'll soon feel better and not hungry any more. Keep posting and let us know how you're getting on Flowers

tiredvommachine · 20/05/2021 08:20

How is everyone getting on? Smile
