Hi all. May I join you?
I’ve just ordered Saxenda so will be starting when it arrives. I’m 5’7 and weigh 17st 5. It makes me want to cry writing that down.
I don’t eat piles of cake or takeaways but I do eat too much of everything and drink too much and don’t move enough. Tried everything in the past and have completely lost sight of normal eating without obsessing over it and I am totally fed up. So no more.

peachgreen · 15/07/2021 23:42

Thank you @andadietcoke. Did my first injection at about 5pm and am so far feeling fine. Not sure now long side effects could take to kick in. The idea of losing three stone is just blowing my mind though. That's amazing motivation for me, thank you for sharing and congratulations, that's amazing!

andadietcoke · 16/07/2021 00:24

I think I woke up with a headache the first morning and felt a bit nauseous for a few days. I lost my appetite on about day 2 I think. It does come back after a month or so, so enjoy it while it lasts - it helped retrain my brain into eating like a normal person.

WhenZoomWasJustAnIceLolly · 16/07/2021 07:48

I felt really awful the first few days, like I had flu. It wore off though. I felt awful within minutes of the first injection though.

peachgreen · 16/07/2021 11:23

I feel fine this morning though very tired. And hungry, annoyingly! But I didn't really expect only one jab to work, haha.

Twobecomingthreeplusthedog · 16/07/2021 19:57

My medication comes tomorrow and I’m bricking it!
I have an 8 week old baby but I hate needles despite managing labour!! I’m going to have to take it in the evening to start with so I don’t have a panic attack in the morning.

I’ve got at least 5 stone to lose and really want to have lost it by Christmas. I need to lose 2 stone by mid October to fit into a bridesmaid dress too. Absolutely dreading it if this doesn’t work!

CommanderdData · 16/07/2021 21:13

I haven't read the thread bc it's too long but I did try Saxenda for a few weeks. I didn't find it that effective and when I came off I WAS SO HUNGRY. so....still a chubster...

AlphabetAerobics · 17/07/2021 10:18

I've got my end of week 3 weigh-in on Monday and it looks like I'll be a stone and a half down! Shock

It's removed the focus of food from my life - I'm not constantly thinking about it and am often getting to 3pm until I eat because I'm busy doing other stuff.

I'm still eating chocolate/crisps etc. - but finding it very easy to stop iyswim.

I'm moving house next week so am spending all weekend packing, nipped out to the shop this morning and bought a packet of "Wispa bites" - got home and pulled a few out of the bag and they ANNOYED me by MELTING in my hand before I'd shoved them in my usually gannetous (yep, it's a word!) gob!

Imagine! Being annoyed by melted chocolate rather than licking the inside of the packet?

WhenZoomWasJustAnIceLolly · 17/07/2021 10:29

Twobecomingthreeplusthedog
I really wouldn’t take it in the evening. You won’t sleep. And it will also have worn off by mid morning.

jasminoide · 17/07/2021 10:54

I always take mine last thing at night and no sleep issues.
Congrats to all of the 'losers', amazing results!

Hello all, I started on Saxenda with Lloyds on Friday. Am very old and very fat so not expecting miracles 😂 Side effects not too bad, a little headachy and a little nauseous occasionally but hopefully that will go as I acclimatise. Am injecting late afternoon as that has always been my peak go monster on carbs and sugar time. Even 2 days in I can feel the cravings lessen so fingers crossed!

peachgreen · 19/07/2021 12:20

I'm injecting at 5pm and haven't had any trouble sleeping, but am definitely constipated! Today is Day 5. Have been sticking to 1000 cals a day with really no problems at all. Only 3lbs lost so far which I'm a bit annoyed about, given how low my intake has been, but I am on my period so that's probably contributing!

DIKateFleming · 19/07/2021 15:38

Can I join? I started this week with Lloyds. No side effects so far, but it’s definitely working. As someone said about I’m not thinking about food the whole time, I’ve got so much more time, because I’m thinking about what I want to eat next or resisting what I want to eat. Hopefully this will carry on. I’ve been doing it at 10am and it’s lasted all day

jasminoide · 19/07/2021 18:04

Did anyone find their period was any different since starting? I've had my first period since injecting and it's been so heavy. Might be completely coincidental though!

Joanna9494 · 19/07/2021 21:52

Hi guys just looking for advice. I'm interested in saxenda as I need to lose around 5 stone (currently 5'3 and 14st 6lb size 16-18 and extremely unhappy and self conscious about my weight/size)

I've always struggled to diet and don't tend to stick well to them. I also snack/binge in evening when kids are in bed. Is there anyone who's similar to me who has been taking this and been successful with weight loss?

Also for those who have lost 4-5 stone or more, how long have you been on it and what dose do you take daily? How long does 1 pen usually last?

Thanks in advance!

jasminoide · 20/07/2021 01:30

Joanna you and I could be twins. I never get on with diets as I can't stick to them so Saxenda has been great for me as I've more or less lost interest in food. Apart from one or two days when I was on my period I haven't had sugar cravings.
I have just stuck to the lowest dose (o. 6) and I estimate I will get at least 5 weeks with it.

DIKateFleming · 20/07/2021 17:08

Quick question - does anyone else have a bruise from the needle? Got a massive bruise where I’ve been doing it, not sure if I’ve been doing it wrong

linerforlife · 20/07/2021 18:26

Safe to say 0.6 is no longer working for me as I haven't lost any weight for two weeks and I feel hungry often. I went up 5 clicks this week and will go up to the new 1.2 dose tomorrow. I am tracking my calories religiously and fuck me why is there so many calories in food Sad I am allowed 2000 calories as I burn around 2500 a day and it still seems so little food... I honestly boggle at the amount I must have been eating before!!!

linerforlife · 20/07/2021 18:26

Yes it's normal to get a bruise sometimes.

Elflockbubble · 20/07/2021 22:46

Started to sting at 1.2… last day before I move up a dose tomorrow.
12lb in two weeks … wow ! How is everyone else doing ?

peachgreen · 20/07/2021 23:01

Well done @elflockbubble, that's great!

I'm on Day 5 and have lost 7lbs so far, but that's in combination with 1000cal a day which I'm not sure I can sustain as I'm feeling pretty tired. Might have to go up to 1200 cals. Definitely finding it easier to resist hunger than before.

Elflockbubble · 21/07/2021 12:55

@peachgreen

Well done *@elflockbubble*, that's great!

I'm on Day 5 and have lost 7lbs so far, but that's in combination with 1000cal a day which I'm not sure I can sustain as I'm feeling pretty tired. Might have to go up to 1200 cals. Definitely finding it easier to resist hunger than before.

I felt the same hun! In fact week one a couple of days I had 1600+ as I felt so tired and hungry towards the end of the week and thought maybe it wasn’t working for me.

I did have brief side effects (toilet) week 1
I kept thinking when will the hunger go away or is this just me 🤣 anyway the day after I upped to 1.2 I realised I had managed 1000 Cals with ease …. And every day since it’s getting more and more easy to ‘forget’ about food if that makes sense.

Today I have gone up to 1.8 as per third week advice but will stick with this one if it continues to work.

I weighed this morning and I’m down another pound.

So I have lost:

Week 1 - 9lb
Week 2 - 4lb

I know the big losses probably won’t continue (I have a lot to lose - ideally 5/6 stone minimum) but I have never had such a boost in the first couple of weeks… if I had lost 5/6lb first week at slimming world the next week I would have maintained etc.

Sorry for rambling just feel like this is really working for me and like I can finally, for the first time in my life, succeed at loosing weight.

QueenBee52 · 21/07/2021 13:16
