Hi, I’ve added my story, just in case it can help any of you.
My original BMI, about three years ago was 43.5 (19st 10lbs and 5.7”). I got it down to 30, but hovered between 30 and 35 (about two stones) for a couple of years, just going around in circles with my diet. Binge eating, then dieting, only to stay within the same couple of stones, it became soul destroying.
I decided to break the cycle and started afresh on 1st Jan, with a BMI of 35.4 (16st 2lbs) and a new determination to get healthy and get finally get to a healthy BMI. I’m now at 30.5 (13st 12lbs) and would like to get to a BMI of 21.3 (middle of the healthy range) and 9st 10lbs.
So, I’m almost 6 stones lighter than when I started and I’ve finally realised a few things. The main one is that eating empty processed carbs, sugar and artificial sweeteners just make me hungrier and lead to craving crap more than before. I’m trying to eat healthy whole foods and I’ve managed it since 1st Jan. I’m running 30 mins a few mornings a week and walking 10k most days. I’m feeling strong and positive and that I will achieve it this time.
I’ve been in the same cycle of despair that most of you have or are experiencing and if I can give any advice from looking through the thread, and please don’t take it as a criticism, I understand how hard it is, but it would be to just stop with stuff like this until you’ve achieved your goals (and probably beyond, apart from on VERY special occasions).....

THIS IS ALL FOOD THAT WILL KEEP YOU FAT! This sort of food is for people who only have a stone or two to lose, not people like us who are seriously, morbidly obese.
I hope no one is offended, it’s just an observation, I’ve been in denial many times too. I’ve had to stop kidding myself that I can just have this or that and wake up to the fact that I am seriously overweight and I need to stop playing around with this thing and become the healthy, slim person I should be. There’s a reason 98% of diets fail long-term. I wish you all the absolute very best of luck with getting into the 2% that succeed.
