Lunch: Veggie omelette (no cheese) w/ toast, water
Afternoon snack: 1 rice cake w/ honey, decaf tea
About to have...Dinner: Salmon, new potatoes, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower; fat free vanilla yog w/ fruit salad, lots of water

Could have murdered a proper pudding tonight though! It's so wintery all of a sudden

spottyshoes · 05/11/2007 19:49

Evening all! Feeling all positive today. Ate pretty well, had a lovely day out shopping with hubs & bubs - dh has been working for ages but is off all week!

Brekkie: Toast with marmite
Lunch: Peppered Mackerel, tbsp l/f cottage cheese, salad leaves, cucumber, tomato, onions
Dinner: Jacket potato with tuna, salad leaves, cucumber, tomato, peppers, onions

Just made some cheese straws and a lentil pate so had to have a quick taste. Will try to stop at 2 straws but they are a bit more-ish.....

mylittlefreya · 05/11/2007 20:13

Hi everyone! The 4lb was only after 4 nights.... so 7lbs for a week away spottyshoes, we are even there!

Today:
breakfast - bagel and flora - shared with dd, so abt 2/3 or it?!
lunch - brown pitta breads with low fat cram cheese and tomatoes
tea - small serving of sausage casserole - DP was pleading with me to make it - I couldn't say no!

Not too bad tho.
Good to have some new faces to give us some motivation/ a kick up the bottom (delete as appropriate)

pollywollydoodle · 05/11/2007 21:09

well, a funny old day today, still feeling a bit off colour..

brekkie...tea

lunch...a toast and marmite,decaff cappuccino

mid pm 2 roses chocs (both the purple ones with the whole nut in...in case you want a virtual taste) decaff cappuccino

eve...a toast and marmite, decaff cappuccino

tomorrow, i must eat fruit and veg!!

spottyshoes · 05/11/2007 21:20

Why is it we can put on a pound a day and keep it on but not lose a pound a day and keep it off???

Sausage casserole is quite healthy mlf! I make it with onions, peppers etc. Bit of mash - yummy. Nice hearty winter meal!

Tbh I make loads of stew/casserole/shepherds pie type meals in winter so if any of you are the same I think we'll be doing well just to maintain our weight over the Christmas period!!!!

Polly! Chocolates and cappuccinos when poorly - do you have manflu???? (sorry) I turn to toast and marmite too!!! Must be in the top ten of comfort foods (with marj/butter on white bread of course!?) Hope you're feeling better soon. x

pollywollydoodle · 05/11/2007 21:36

spottyshoes i have man-dysentry (or an upset tum as we know it...)

....my dd seems to get everything going and shake it off quickly then i get it and it goes on for yonks...then hubby gets it and it just seems to go on for yonks

i had the healthy option of marmite on brown toast...

....right now i'm going to cuddle under a blankie, deliberate over whether or not to take a tablet and if so what sort for what seems like hours and then call out for grapes and hot drinks and adjustments to the central heating settings....might as well get it in before man-dysentry really hits the house!

Elloeise · 05/11/2007 21:37

Hope everyones doing o.k!
Well i fell off the wagon BIG style over the past few days! first ds was ill and as i was up most of the night for a fare few nights all my meals/snacks/chochlate biscus blended into one then a family 18th birthday sooo it would have been rude to say no to the pizza, dubble choch fudge cake and birthday cake they brought round for me as i couldn't get to the party coz ds ill (wouldn't it!?!...would it!?!...please say it would! ) But anyway back on track from 2marra and some how please don't ask me how but when i got weighed today i've lost 2lb (personaly i think the scales have broken but going with it anyway, i'll replace the when the little red numbers start to go up again!)

spottyshoes · 05/11/2007 22:21

healthy option smelthy option - pah am disappointed You can NOT diet whilst ill - it hampers recovery! Man dysentry sounds very serious - Dr shoes prescribes lots of carbs, coffee sachets & mother hen type bustling. (make sure those grapes are peeled )

btw - Family birthdays dont count Elloeise - you get them for free!

pollywollydoodle · 05/11/2007 22:44

at Dr Shoes....am i allowed to (gasp) prefer brown toast or is that not allowed?

going to bed now...g'night all

pollywollydoodle · 05/11/2007 22:45

ooh those pillows are comfy..can i hire you as my special man-dysentry nurse SShoes

Elloeise · 05/11/2007 23:23

lol thanks spottyshoes!

mylittlefreya · 06/11/2007 12:15

I definitely get male colds, and tummy bugs give me pregnancy hyperemesis flashbacks, so I have lots of sympathy. You sound very well looked after there, polly!

Agree that sausage casserole is not that bad - I think stews etc are pretty well balanced meals, lots of veg, etc. It's just portion size control, I guess - and I am winning for now!

Elloeise - sleep deprivation is THE worse for controlling what you eat (we have all agreed on this before, the other ladies will back me/ you up). You feel like a zombie, and if chocolate makes you feel better... sometimes you just have to do it. I hope your lo is better soon.

Elloeise · 06/11/2007 13:04

Thanks mylittlefreya! i did try haarrrd not to give in but...sometimes as you said it was easyer just to grab anything to keep me going, espically the chocolate biscuts

D.s is on the mend again now though, thanks (hes had a bad chest infection, goodness knows where it came from but i will soon stop being a wicked mummy by giving him his antibiotics {{lots of crying about this, however he likes the ''pink one mummy'' }}) and iv'e also had a better day food wise (so far at least)...

breackfast : 2 weetabix with s/s milk
dinner : 1 pice of cheese on toast with cerry tomatoes and beetroot. Banana and yogurt for pudding
water : 4 glasses
just need to keep it up now!

hope everyone is having a good day!

pollywollydoodle · 06/11/2007 13:07

feeling better but hungrier today [blast!]

dd is wandering around in a pair of wellies, a footie shirt, a scarf with a poodle head on it, a hat in the shape of a fish and a bag on her bag for wings.....she tells me she is going on a picnic and it is all "vital mummy".......who am i to disagree?

still it gives me time to MN do my finger excercises....

just fruit and fibre, water and a cappuccino so far

pollywollydoodle · 06/11/2007 13:10

well done elle.....it is hard to control your appetite when you are knackered.....

i remember the yellow liquid antibiotic fights...we still have marks on the carpet...they are still luminous

pollywollydoodle · 06/11/2007 13:11

mylittle freya.....stews are great! My fave eve meal in the winter....veggie ones must be good for you

mylittlefreya · 06/11/2007 13:18

Can you hide the medicine? Your los are bigger than mine - but she has two lots of medicines twice a day and they go in porridge in the morning and yoghurt at night. Or will they refuse to eat it?

No starving yourself, polly, that's just as bad for the metabolism

pollywollydoodle · 06/11/2007 13:21

not a chance of starving myself unfortunately...just a late lunch today...

katybump · 06/11/2007 14:44

i'm back and staying this time!
sorry once again for vanishing, have been at casualty twice in two days!!! ds2 rode his bike into the side of a house and mangled his face(nothing broken though) and dh has broken his arm!!! the chocolate has beaten me the last few days so i'm back on track and here all the time now xx

really looking forward to concentrating on me again i feel horrible

we will be thin for christmas , we can do this

pollywollydoodle · 06/11/2007 14:49

katybump, what a horrible few days!

now, put the chocolate in a cupboard (yes, ALL of it),
shut the door
say "ha, you vill not beat me you evil purple wrappered demons, for i am katy of the katybumpers and i will be slim!!!!!"

any help?

katybump · 06/11/2007 16:16

yep great help pollywollydoodle thank you xx

i'm having a new year party so i'm aiming to knock everyone for 6 when they see me all slinky i need a big kick up the arse though

mylittlefreya · 06/11/2007 16:31

Oh, katy, that sounds awful. How did dh break his arm? Is ds now very proud of his war wounds? Do you go to the MRI or Tameside?

I am so cross with a little old lady on the bus who a) woke dd up to see if she would smile at her and b) asked me 'don't you think she looks like a boy?'. Um, no, I'm her mother, I get to think she is a beautiful girl however far it is from the truth. She was wearing yellow and orange, so I understand not knowing, that's fine, but... grrr. And then I just ate a mince pie without hardly noticing while I was being all cross about it. What an essay, sorry.

katybump · 06/11/2007 16:54

i go to tameside mylittlefreya.hes not very impressed with his wounds as they stop him eating alot! dh had a fight with the garage door and it won lol
horrible woman waking your dd upon the plus side i luuurve mince pies
i get people asking me all the time "how old is he?" even when shes dressed head to toe in pink lol x

LoveAngel · 06/11/2007 19:28
