Welcome to the new thread!

OP posts:
Elloeise · 31/10/2007 11:51

Thanks well i started out o.k .....

Breakfast: weetabix with s/s milk and fruit juice,
but then my mum came with some poorly pressies for ds (jaffa cakes, smarties, grapes and in the night garden dvd) so of course i had to try the smarties (slack hand full and couldn't resist a jaffa cake ) So im now going to drag skipping rope from back of cupboard and hope confessing my diet sins will motervate me while ds sleeps and for the rest of the day, so next time i go for the grapes instead!

BrownSuga · 31/10/2007 12:20

how do you ladies break through a plateau. i've got about 6kgs to lose (don't know what that is in old money, but about a stone?) i weigh myself every friday, and seem to lose 1kg this week, put on 1kg next week. so stay the same, that's been happening for about 6weeks now.

any advice to kick start the last little bit coming off?

BrownSuga · 31/10/2007 17:14

i seem to have killed yet another thread.

i'll bugger off now

spottyshoes · 31/10/2007 18:48

BrownSuga - dont know what you mean about killing the thread? This one goes in fits and starts depending on how busy we all are so sometimes its quieter than others. I'm not sure about the plateau. I usually find that reintroducing some treats into my diet for a couple of days seems to work. It's as if my body hangs on to the fat if it's deprived and starts burning it again once it gets a bar of choccy

spottyshoes · 31/10/2007 18:50

Brekkie: Scrambled eggs on toast. Fruit juice
11'ses: Apple
Lunch: 1/2 tuna salad pitta
PM T: Cappuccino
Dinner: Savoury Mince, Potato, veg

LoveAngel · 31/10/2007 19:07

Hi all.

Brek: Just a cup of decaf tea with skimmed milk as felt sick
Lunch: Veggie sushi, red grapes
Afternoon: 2 rice cakes, 2 oatcakes with honey, 1 banana, 1 cup green tea
Dinner; 2 scrambled eggs, 2 slices wholewheat toast (no spread), 1/2 small can baked beans, then fat free vanilla yoghurt with 5 strawberries & 1 nectarine

Gonna have a cup of coffee now at my evening class and that's my lot for today. Feel proud that I got through one whole day without chocolate - and it wasn't too bad!

pollywollydooooooooodle · 31/10/2007 20:46

hi all
am intrigued by the idea of veggie sushi loveangel! Good luck on the choc withdrawal....i've switched from choc "proper" to nescafe chocca mocha drinks...really nice, 90 odd cals...keeps me off the snacs generally in the eve

Brownsuga...i don't think i've been going long enough to hit a proper plateau this time....but i would

1 write down everything i ate (including things eaten standing up!...i used to kid myself that they didn't count...

2 check whether my portion sizes have drifted up

3 maybe change/step up any excercise in cse my body had got used to whatever i did

4 take speed...no, not really!

Hi spottyshoes you are on a roll....

susiec where have you gone??

today
brekkie..muesli

lunch....carrot and lentil soup, 2 toast, small piece choc cake

eve...pasta with veggie sauce, a sprinkle of parmesan and half a pitta. Stewed apple and blackberry with a bit of low fat yoghurt

fireflyfairy2 · 31/10/2007 22:56

I need to lose another 2olb & I'll be happy, but am thrilled by 2lb off this week!!

I won't write what I have eaten this evening, as I have been very norty at a Halloween party

susiecutiebananas · 01/11/2007 01:15

hello all

just popping in to say hi! been in a bad bad way with back pain, not able to sit up to laptop even

Just up now trying to get it to go away again, not wanting to wake up DH and dd, who are sound asleep and snoring... both of them... in unison... loud.... rubbing it in that i cant sleep i think

SO, diet not bad, not great... not eating lots of naughty stuff, but not enough good either. TBH just eating as i can really and as long as i dont hve to sit up too much to eat.

DH took DD to IKEA today to get new cheat of drawers for her. turns out, she is now having our old one and we have a new one! Although, all new furniture now chosen by DD ( apparently) for her new room, if/when we actually move in!

Looks like tomorrow i'll be lying down relaxing giving moral support to DH putting up said chest of drawers and generally de-cluttering the place. He assures me i have to do nothing and has even arranged for DD to go to my mums for the day, so he can get on with with me lying downgiving moral support, topped up with tea i think he said. he really is a dream come true at the moment. MOST out of character. I keep wondering when he's going to give me some bad news, or tell me something I dont want to hear... is that far to cynical??

I hope you are all well. I have to say, i've missed you girls! is that terribly sad?

sorry not been ble to get on here to say hi, and give you all motivation...

pollywollydooooooooodle · 01/11/2007 10:17

oh susiec you are in a bad way aren't you...have you been to a specialist pain clinic?....make the most of the lovely dh.....and stop being pessimistic! How's dd's crawling coming on?

well done FFF2 !

dd and i are off to a belated halloween party at playgroup this afternoon...am planning to take the remaining t or treat lollies with me...

need to add a handful of pretzels to last nights list....

LoveAngel · 01/11/2007 12:57

Firefly - well done! You must feel proud of yourself, eh?

Polly - I'm not even a vegatarian, they just looked nice (tasted oddly fishy, though!).

Susie - hope you feel better soon.

Going well again, today. Haven't even thought about cake

fireflyfairy2 · 01/11/2007 16:33

Aw thanks girls!

Today:

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs

Lunch: Apple & a banana (I had lectures all day so not much time)

Dinner: Not sure yet.. dh is sick & the kids want spaghetti & toast I might have pasta or rice or something easy.

Have spin cycle tonight but will have to wait & see if dh will be able to deal with the kids.. I don't know how sick he actually is or how much is related to the fact he has a penis!

spottyshoes · 01/11/2007 16:49

PMSL!!! You mean he might not actually be properly ill???

Big well done on the weight loss btw

fireflyfairy2 · 01/11/2007 17:17

yep!

He came in there now & stood like a bog lemon rubbing his eyes. Then he came up & said "Gimme a hug" so I obliged.

He then mumbled something I couldn't quite hear.... so I asked him to repeat it... which he did... "Will you come to bed & heat me up"

I doubt very much if getting warmed up was on his agenda!

He has now changed into a fleece & a pair of joggers & is laying moaning on the kitchen sofa............

susiecutiebananas · 01/11/2007 17:51

I think its lovely when my DH is not well.. he regresses so much, and gets so cuddly and needy.. brings out a huge maternal side in me. that and that i miss being a nurse, so he's looked after very efficiantly. Oh, and also, the main reason i like it is that he has to stay at HOME with us and not 200 miles away. not that i'm wishing him ill... i mean, he never actually IS that ill, he is just being a man...

polly ok, I'll stop being pessimistic poor chaps, cant win hey! if they bring flowers, they're usually asked what they are for, or what they've done...

today, we have had:
Breakfast: fruit, and farleys rusks
Lunch: chickpea soup and one slice bread.
water, water water....
Tea: roasted veg; sweet pots. peppers carrots, butternut squash, broccoli roasted chicken breast, and some sprouts.

keep going lovely lot, we can do this

waves pom poms in inspirational way

spottyshoes · 01/11/2007 20:31

I'm the opposite with my DH! I dont suffer fools. As someone who suffers from proper migranes, it really winds me up when he comes in from work with a " Ohh, owww got a migrane then proceeds to sit and watch sky sports news for the rest of the afternoon!! I'll give him bloody migrane

Brekkie: Optivia with Berries. Pear
Lunch: Half a tuna salad pitta, Apple
Dinner: Lamb, New Pots, Veg
Now: Glass of red wine

For some reason this evening I quite fancy a ciggie haven't smoked for 4 years. Feel like I've had a manic day and been on the go the whole time so just sat down with the laptop and a glass of wine and looked round for a packet of cigs!! Old habit die hard eh?

pollywollydoodle · 01/11/2007 20:57

strangely my hubby hasn't had any "bad throats coming on" since they banned smoking in pubs ....

am a bit under the weather and having to take it as easy as i can to get thru the days....my ms always flares up when i've had a viral thing and my energy is in my boots...not helpful having a preschooler in that regard...

anyway
brekkie...crumpets and marmite
lunch...crumpets marmite and a plum
eve...homemade veggie pizza. salad and a baked potato then grapes

will have to cut back more i think whilst i'm doing less....

menus look interesting and healthy ladies!
Ra!Ra!Ra!

Helloooooooooooooooooooo KatyB!!!!!! Welcome back. Hope the move and everything went ok. Have you dug out the pompoms or are they still in a box somewhere?

I think I need a bit of a kick. Hubby brought back a massive box of taster chocolate (his gran is in some kind of tester club)last night and I helped him 'test' some - purely in the interest of science/research you understand
I didnt actually have to test an entire slab though - that was just the piggy in me
