I'm the fattest I have ever been and need to take drastic action for the sake of my health and sanity. I am 15st8 🤦‍♀️ was a stone lighter at nine months pregnant!!

Going to weigh in every Monday and hoping some of you lovely ladies will join me so we can keep each other motivated.

And I’m back- not quite 4K and I feel like I’m going to throw up, but I got up and did it.

For breakfast I’m going to have fluffy berry pancakes. I did this healthy eating/walking/running plan last year and actually managed to have my very own before and after pictures! Then lockdown happened, I lost my dad and I’ve eaten and drunk my sadness.

Time for a change before I don’t recognise myself in the mirror.

Thanks for the inspiration- I would never have started had I not read this post this morning.

Well done on the run! I need to order new trainers and then will try to get back into running. My issue with running is that I really hate it!! Need to just grit my teeth and get on with it if I want to lose the weight!

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 30/12/2020 10:37

Thanks for the breakfast suggestions. I had an egg sandwich this morning. Not the healthiest thing but better than nothing (followed by a mammoth lunch.) Bread is my vice! I also didn't have sugar in my coffee. Baby steps Grin
I don't really like porridge, but probably could manage it occasionally. I got used to the texture before so could do again. I prefer readybrek, but its probably full of sugar.

HenslowesDiary · 30/12/2020 10:41

Weighed myself at 17 st 4.8lbs Blush.

I need to make some lifestyle changes to tackle this and break it down into manageable chunks as looking at the big picture is too overwhelming.

My body is stiff & aching through being in the house and sitting around for too long. I can go out tomorrow (have been self isolating) but need to do done stretches today.

Goals for today:
Clear out remnants of Christmas food
Find something in freezer for dinner tonight to avoid takeaway
Meal plan for rest of week
Do some yoga stretches

Musmerian · 30/12/2020 11:00

Me too please. I’m 5 ft 3 and 11 stone. I find it really hard to lose weight and progress is always v slow so I tend to lose heart. I got down to 9 stone 10 a few years ago and felt great so am aiming for that again. I used calorie counting but find I’m always hungry! It’s my birthday in a week so I’m going to start gently in the next week and then start properly after the 6th Jan.

Bobbiepin · 30/12/2020 12:08

For those delaying a start, can I introduce you to the 80/20 idea. If you are consistent for 80% of the time (e.g. 80% of your meals) you can relax a little on the remaining 20%. Have a day off for your birthday but make better choices. Slightly smaller slice of cake, vodka diet coke instead of wine etc. No reason why you can't start now and incorporate your birthday in. Be consistent the rest of the time and one day won't ruin your progress.

YourWurstNightmare · 30/12/2020 12:22

@WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo

Can anyone suggest some nice, filling breakfasts please? I ate lots of overnight oats when I did SW before, but I don't really like them Grin. However I was working and they were easy to take to work and eat during hand over. I'm not working anymore so have more time (but less money) to make something.
If you can get a taste for egg whites they are brilliantly low calorie. I top them with salsa, add some cottage cheese and have with those 100 calorie sandwich thins.
SendHelp30 · 30/12/2020 12:23

@Musmerian we are the same measurements!

Musmerian · 30/12/2020 14:45

@SendHelp30 - nice to have a twin on here. So many of the weight loss threads have people our height who are 9 stone and want to be 8! I have huge boobs and stomach but skinny legs and hips and no bum so can still fit in size 12 jeans but feel very blobby at the moment.

Bobbiepin · 30/12/2020 17:36

I batch cooked some thai curry today to use as a base for some meals. I added some fried aubergine and a portion of rice and came in under 400kcal.

Fry off a red onion and garlic paste in a couple of sprays of fry light
Add chopped peppers and sugar snap peas and toss lightly
2 tbsp of thai red curry paste, cook down a little
1 tin of kidney beans in, cook for a few mins
Add a tin of coconut milk (I used full fat because asda didnt have any low fat but low fat can bring cals down even more)
Stir and leave to reduce, salt and pepper to taste and a squeeze of lemon.

Planning on adding aubergine/butternut squash and maybe chicken for the rest of the week. Enjoy!

sobsanta · 30/12/2020 19:04

Checking in. I did my first run on Couch to 5k this afternoon. It was hard but manageable. I've eaten well and a large dinner coming in under 1400 calories all day. Day one off to a good start.

Tomorrow I'll eat well, take the dog for a walk and add in some yoga at home. Friday is the next run. Hope my knees and legs allow for it!

applesandpears33 · 30/12/2020 19:10

Can I join you ladies? I am the fattest I've ever been and I'm too nervous to stand on the scales. I estimate I'm just under 15 stones. I am now so fat my rings are jammed on my fingers and I can't get them off. My goal for this year is to lose enough weight to get my rings off. I think I'd need to lose two stones to do that. We got a Nintendo Ringfit for Christmas and it is actually quite good fun so I'll do some of that tonight.

katand2kits · 30/12/2020 19:16

Just checking in. Fairly good day here, I had three sensible meals, one low calorie sweet snack and I've eaten 5 portions of fruit and veg. Only managed a short walk but better than driving to the local shop and back.

SendHelp30 · 30/12/2020 19:25

Well done all you ladies who’ve already made a good start. I started the day well but we’ve ended up ordering a bloody curry! 11k steps today though and going to do a HIIT on YouTube in the morning and a big walk in the afternoon. We’ve ordered a carrier for DS 16 months so it’ll be “weighted walking” 😂

I’ve made a batch of egg muffins - egg, lean low fat bacon medallions with no fat, mushrooms and peppers. Will have one for breakfast, a tuna salad for lunch and doing a stir fry for dinner

Autumnnightsaredrawingin · 30/12/2020 21:18

Day 3 on WW online ✅. Have been on decent walks two out of three days as well.

politics31 · 30/12/2020 21:44

I've not done perfectly but I've definitely eaten less bread and sugar than I usually would. I've eaten 6 after eights this evening but usually I would easily have had half a packet so that's an improvement! I know I can't go cold turkey so I'm not even trying. Had a lovely tea of h/m pork burgers with wedges and rocket salad. Next time I won't have the roll. Tomorrow night is enchiladas (bread again but wraps are lower calorie). Need to work out what I will have for breakfast, will probably do eggs I think. Also heading out for a walk tomorrow so should get to my 10k steps.

Keep it up everyone!

EsmeeMerlin · 30/12/2020 22:18

Glad with today. I woke up feeling tired, am on a period, have had a headache and my children have been driving me up the wall today. Usually I end up snacking on days like this but managed to have 1300 calories and over 15000 steps including a workout. I really wanted to push myself to stay on track today even though I did not feel like it so that tomorrow I can relax a little and enjoy a nice dinner and a drink over a zoom quiz.

Firstworlddilemma · 30/12/2020 23:15

Hi everyone. Can I join in? Only just discovered this thread but started yesterday. Planning on 16:8 eating (see if it helps with my PCOS insulin resistance) but also keeping an eye on calories overall. Weighed today for the first time in around 2 years. 15 st 6. More than a stone heavier than when 9 months pregnant with my twins 😱.

Really want 2021 to be the year I start looking after myself again.

sobsanta · 31/12/2020 00:55

When is everyone doing their weigh day and what time of day?

StormsDontLastForever · 31/12/2020 00:58

This is me and I really need motivation to do it. Good luck all

Ilovesausages · 31/12/2020 02:29

I don’t have a specific weigh in day. I weigh every morning post wee pre coffee and record it on the ‘happy scale’ app. That works best for me.

I’ve not been too bad today. Felt much calmer. We are having a Mexican buffet for new years eve and a roast dinner New Year’s Day and then on the 2nd it’s all systems go! I’m actually looking forward to getting back on track.

Aiming for slow and steady this year though. Going to up my daily calories and accept that slower is better for me.

HereIgoagainagain · 31/12/2020 09:09

I have weighed myself this morning and I am the fattest I have ever been !!
I am over 15 stone and feel like shit.

This is not where I want to be so I need to get my arse into gear.

My plan is all the usual stuff ,
Eat less crap
Start couch to 5k
10000 steps

My biggest issue is snacking , I am a definite emotional eater.

SnorkMaidensTummy · 31/12/2020 09:29

I'm in.

I have about 6 stone to lose and struggling to motivate myself or get into a routine. After a change in personal circumstances I moved in with my parents and here for the foreseeable. Its difficult as the eat differently to how I prefer to eat and my mum does most of the cooking. More traditional, lots of meat, pastry foods etc. I'm more into salads and lighter evening meals. I'm going to bite the bullet and do my own meals separately even though this will upset my mum.

I struggle with exercise as I like swimming and cycling and I haven't been able to do these with my daughter (4). I used to cycle to work pre daughter which was 18 miles round trip. The great news is she has just learnt to cycle without stabilisers. I'm contemplating getting a Weeride in 2021 so we can cycle further than if she's on her own bike.

Dottydoodoo · 31/12/2020 09:34

Can I join in please 🙋‍♀️ I too am the fattest that I have ever been ☹️ I’m working tonight and there is talk of a Chinese but come tomorrow when I wake up I will be fully on it. Really need to lose some pounds!

bluebluezoo · 31/12/2020 09:35

Day 4 and Scales not moving Confused. I know it’s early days but this tooth means I’m only having tea, toast and a few crackers. So a bit disappointed.

Really need the gym. Classes in particular. I do have things I can do at home but I find it almost impossible to motivate myself. That and I usually only get 10 minutes before the kids need refereeing, more toilet roll etc...
