I'm the fattest I have ever been and need to take drastic action for the sake of my health and sanity. I am 15st8 🤦‍♀️ was a stone lighter at nine months pregnant!!

Going to weigh in every Monday and hoping some of you lovely ladies will join me so we can keep each other motivated.

Wow what a brilliant response. Thank you all for replying. WE CAN DO THIS!! I've done my knee in but I am planning to walk every day and workout if and when I can as well as following a low cal low carb diet. Thanks for your support everyone I know this is going to be easier being able to call on you all for support

Me too! I'm 17 stone 3 and it needs to go. I do a bit of running but I need to sort out the diet, going to start by going to bed by 10.30 each night and not taking my phone. I know I eat more because I'm tired so I'm hoping this works....

clpsmum · 27/12/2020 20:18

@politics31 good idea. I am going to try and drink nothing but water too

I’m in!

I was doing really well but Christmas really threw me off track!

CoffeeRequiredNow · 27/12/2020 20:25

I'll join you from Jan 1st. I managed to lose 3 stone since lockdown 1, relaxed over Christmas and have put some of that back on again, but am starting back into 5:2 again from January until I hit my target weight. Good luck everyone!

Hangnailing · 27/12/2020 20:26

Oh yes please!
Weighed myself this morning and am the heaviest I’ve been when not pregnant. Nothing fits and I feel wobbly and just don’t recognise myself.

62.5kg and it has to stop right now

So far today I did really well until after dinner when I started on the Xmas cake and home made honeycomb so have decide to walk the dog and hopefully come home and go for a bath this bypassing the kitchen!

It’s the evening that is my absolutely downfall.

We can do this!
Will weigh in every Sunday.
Hoping for a short sharp start and 61kg this time next week.

flamingo40 · 27/12/2020 20:36

I'm in...
I started so well last year then lockdown hit,
I'm the biggest I've ever been.
40 and fat.
None of my clothes fit nicely.
I feel I look a mess. But I can't afford new.
So I need to do this

CheezerGoode · 27/12/2020 20:43

I'm not sure how much I weigh but nothing fits. What's the best way to lose weight (apart from not eating)?

lofthouse · 27/12/2020 20:47

I'm in. 15st5 here, 5.5. Aim is to loose six stone by the summer. Thinking of following one of Michael Moslems plans as I know I am flirting with type 2 diabetes.

CoffeeRequiredNow · 27/12/2020 20:53

I think it's about finding a way that works for you Cheezer. Some people calorie count, some people need accountability and having a weekly weigh-in works, some people can do it by cutting out snacks. For me the 5:2 fast has worked as it means I don't have to painstakingly count every single calorie I eat and it has really opened my eyes to the fact that I will not keel over and die if I miss a meal (genuinely surprised at how little food I NEED as compared to how much I WANT).

The key thing is sustainability though. It needs to be a lifestyle change rather than a 'diet' so has to be something you can maintain long-term.

CoffeeRequiredNow · 27/12/2020 20:56

I'm not that knowledgeable, but I have lost weight in the past by counting calories and through weight watchers, but put it back on again once I got bored of having to keep track of everything I ate. I found doing 5:2 was much easier in terms of tracking as I didn't have to monitor every calorie. I'm optimistic that I can do it long-term and lose the Christmas pounds I've put on and maintain my reduced weight for the foreseeable.

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 27/12/2020 21:02

I’ll join in definitely the biggest I’ve ever been and am eating like a maniac! Had second baby in September and really need to do something I’m feeling gross. Don’t have scales but I could measure with a tape ! I’ve joined the fiit app - anyone else have that? It’s really good !!

clpsmum · 27/12/2020 21:15

@lofthouse not hear of Michael Moslem I'm off to google x

I'm in too. I lost a bit in lockdown 1 but then home office life got in the way, I sat down to much and gained it all back then Xmas gained more. Starting online exercises tomorrow and will do official starting weigh in. Just hoping its in the 13s.
No specific goal weight just want to feel happy but I've 3 aims.

  1. Fit back into my office wear by the end of whf. Or even need new cos it's too big. Whenever that may be.
  2. Feel good for my 40th in late 2021.
  3. Don't look fatter than Santa ever again.
SourMilkGhyll · 27/12/2020 22:08

I'm in. Need to exercise more and eat less.
Have started c25k, but the eating less bit is harder.

SendHelp30 · 27/12/2020 22:12

Oh please could I join? I have 2 stone to loose and am the heaviest I’ve ever been when not pregnant. I weighed less the day after having DC3 which is rather depressing!

Plan on starting tomorrow eating healthier meals, cutting out sugar in my tea and not grazing on the kids Christmas chocolate throughout the day!
Going to aim for 10k steps a day and setting my alarm earlier to do a HIIT workout before the kids wake up.
I used to be so active and have turned super lazy this year- thanks lockdown!

Member869894 · 27/12/2020 22:33

I'm in. I was 14 stone 2 before Christmas and wouldn't be surprised if I was over 14 stone 7 now. I'm a terrible late night snacker!! Going to cut our junk and stop drinking those little shots of cappuccino tat I have become addicted to - they are full of sugar and like heroin. I work form home and must find a way to get more exercise into my day and drink more water!

I'm trying to find motivation. I live in trousers and baggy tops and and heavy duty bras which are deeply unsexy - a lot my weight is on my boobs It would be lovely to wear summer dresses in the summer and not feel bovine

NovemberR · 27/12/2020 22:37

If it helps, I decided this at 15 stone 10lb last New Year. I'm 12stone 5 now, so much better...but still really need to lose another couple of stone next year. I'm post menopause so it's doable if that encourages anyone.

I basically tried to avoid sugar and bread.

AThousandTimesYes · 27/12/2020 22:42

Well day one for me went well, I went over calories but logged every single morsel and then did an hour on the exercise bike so that covered it, also only 200 steps away from 10k so feeling positive and glad I didn't fail miserably like I normally do!

Good luck to everyone

Mammyloveswine · 27/12/2020 22:48

Yes! I'm in! Had nothing at all to wear on Xmas day and just felt like a frump!

I want to lose around 3 stone in total!

Want 2 off by Easter then another half off by my birthday in may.

aleC4 · 27/12/2020 22:49

I would like to join you if that's ok?
I'm the heaviest I've ever been, although I don't know my exact weight yet.
I think I've said I'll do this every new year for about 5 years but this year I am totally determined.
I am going to join SW online and have crazily signed up for RED January. I'm not saying I'm going to run every day as I'm not a runner AT ALL but I'm pledging to do some sort of exercise every day in January.
I'm hoping it will be habit forming and give me the kick start I need.

Tormundsbeard · 27/12/2020 22:59

Another one who is the heaviest I have ever been - more than being nine months pregnant with a 10lb baby. The menopause has changed how my body reacts to food and I find it hard to motivate myself. I bought an exercise bike on eBay, but apparently you have to use it...:). Weigh in on Monday and new attitude.

Hangnailing · 27/12/2020 23:08

@AThousandTimesYes well done you!
I would declare a moderate success on that I avoided eating after dog walk, haven’t had any bread but I did crack and have some cereal about an hour before tea as I just didn’t think I’d last - but then wasn’t that hungry at tea time (still ate it though as we eat as a family)

So I need to maybe allow myself a better afternoon snack (had lentil rice cake things today) so I can last until teatime.
But good I’ve avoided too much evening kitchen surfing.

To be fair my appetite has been really minimal today probably as a result of so much food the last week so perhaps I haven’t really faced the challenge yet.
