I'm the fattest I have ever been and need to take drastic action for the sake of my health and sanity. I am 15st8 🤦‍♀️ was a stone lighter at nine months pregnant!!

Going to weigh in every Monday and hoping some of you lovely ladies will join me so we can keep each other motivated.

@TinySongstress definitely do take it to the food bank, it will provide some really nice cheering up for some families after Christmas. I donated a lot to food banks in the run up to Christmas and they said ‘treat’ type food was really welcome, amongst other healthier options.

AlohaMolly · 28/12/2020 19:38

I had a really good day, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks for under 1,400 calories. My garmin step target was 6,480 and I’m on just over 6,500 now, with 50 active minutes from our walk...

...then DP made us sundaes for dessert Blush cream, salted caramel ice cream, meringue and bits of Maltese chocolate bar. Probably 7/800 calories?

Bobbiepin · 28/12/2020 20:04

@Hangnailing thanks, I'm having brisket, mash, peas and broccoli for dinner. A bit carb heavy but it'll keep me full and is within my limit. I think you gave some really good advice there too, too drastic a change is hard to maintain, especially once we go back to working. Small, manageable changes are key.

Autumnnightsaredrawingin · 28/12/2020 20:07

Is anyone on this thread doing WW online? I have done it in the past and it has been good, day 1 today done ✅ and all fine, I really need to stick with it this time!

willingtolearn · 28/12/2020 20:17

Hello, I'd like to join. Also the heaviest I have ever been bar late pregnancy at 203lbs (14,6). Every time I manage to lose weight, I gain it back with friends.

I really miss my gym and zumba classes - working out at home surrounded by people who interrupt me/ask me what I'm doing/ when's lunch/dinner is not the same - I go to the gym to escape!

I've bought myself a fitness tracker and am aiming for 15,000 per day. I'm also logging my food on MFP. Have planned the next few days - I find this helps me as I don't have to think 'what am I making'

I'm aiming for a lb a week (500kcal deficit a day) for the next year - so 52lb in all- I'm hoping going slowly might help my yo-yoing.

TheMostHappy · 28/12/2020 20:22

Yeah I guess I better join. I'm the biggest I've ever been, and I've always been really quite big. Looking at some pics taken Xmas day, I hardly recognised myself.

tea69 · 28/12/2020 20:37

I've started today. I'm on 1800 calories and I've done 10,000 steps 😁

Lauraa7 · 28/12/2020 20:55

93kg here, I was 99kg at the heaviest. I got a new job and the weight fell off me from reduced stress 🤷‍♀️ This has now stopped and I need to loose another 23kg.
My daughter got a running machine for Christmas and I’ve downloaded couch to 5km.
Also planning to do some meal planning as we’ve been supporting the local economy a little too much with the number of takeaways we’ve had recently.

politics31 · 28/12/2020 22:08

I'm in bed before 10.30 for the second night in a row. Like someone up thread I'm trying to avoid sugar and bread, I haven't totally avoided it today but definitely eaten less of them. I like the idea of avoiding rather than banning, it feels more achieveable to me. Also hit my 10k steps which is the first time for ages.

Same goal again tomorrow!

WutheringShites86 · 28/12/2020 22:09

I'm in. Not the heaviest I've ever been but I don't want end up back there!

5.4 and 16st2lb today. I have a 4 month old who is not a great sleeper and ebf so have struggled with binging on crap when I'm tired.

I did so well throughout my pregnancy and right after the birth I was 15st 7lbs meaning I actually lost weight as I was 15st 10lbs at my booking appointment so I'm annoyed I've taken such a step backwards.

I was losing weight with mfp when I fell pregnant and used it to aim to maintain during pregnancy but it all fell by the wayside with a newborn to deal with so I'm picking that up again.

Easing in slowly this week to get used to logging and being more mindful again and will start in earnest from the 1st Jan.

Ultimately want to get down to 10st but it will be slow and steady given I'm breastfeeding and can't go too much into a calorie deficit.

bluebluezoo · 28/12/2020 22:12

I’ve been going to bed early because it stops me doing the late night picking!

I’m on late shift tomorrow though which is when it gets hard. Wfh is worse- i’m always self conscious about people seeing me eat, so it was easier to control at work as that fear meant I only ate on a proper break away from my desk, whereas now I’m at home and the fridge is 10 steps away, I’m tired, and my self control goes..

Ashleighz88 · 28/12/2020 22:18

Hi can I join.

Also the biggest I've been. 5'3 and 10stone.

I'm going to try and do 10k steps a day. Drink water instead of fizzy coke and cut out the take always.

My aim is to get to 8 and half stone by April.

Good luck ladies WE CAN DO IT ❤️

donerwillbehere · 28/12/2020 22:23

Me me please.
Far too much weight in this year . Big birthday next year , really want to lose the fat suit Wink

sobsanta · 28/12/2020 22:46

I've bought a sports bra, leggings, running trainers and an outdoor warm running jacket. I don't intend to run but I want to try Couch to 5k to begin jogging and I want to walk at least 45 minutes every day.

I'm logging food through MyFitnessPal. The online calculator says my base metabolic rate is something like 2,400 calories so I'm aiming to eat 1800 a day and incorporate light exercise in with it.

I've gained two stone in three months. I'm now 22 stone at 5ft9 - as if 20 stone wasn't bad enough. It's becoming an actual health risk for me so I want to get down to 14 stone, even though BMI says I should be around 12 stone. 14 stone would be smaller than I've been since I was a teenager. I would kill for 14 stone. So that's the very end of the line goal weight for me.

For now, getting under 20 stone would be incredible. I'd like to do that before the spring.

GreyMary23 · 28/12/2020 23:25

Could anyone suggest any healthy and nutritious meal ideas? I love hearty carb based meals like pasta and potatoes with cheese. And I'm terrible for snacking. I need to plan meals in advance or I just grab whatever I fancy which is usually junk! Would love some simple but yummy recipes

SendHelp30 · 28/12/2020 23:57

@GreyMary23
Lunch - 30g dried pasta, 2 low fat bacon medallions with fat removed, half a tube of primula light, mushrooms. Makes a lovely lunch and very filling.

SendHelp30 · 28/12/2020 23:59

@GreyMary23 I also add half a Turkey breast if I’m really hungry.

2 egg omelette with veg and mushrooms and chopped tomatoes on the side

Tuna salad

Tuna & sweet potato

MrsSlocombesPussy · 29/12/2020 00:07

I'll join, am the heaviest I've ever been at 16 st and 5 ft 3.
Probably will start properly in the new year, although it's DD's 16 th birthday on 8th Jan, so will be having a takeaway and cake then.

PeggyMoo · 29/12/2020 03:59

@Autumnnightsaredrawingin I will do WW online as I find it helpful limiting my snacks - my meals are generally normal sized portions but I love snacking and drinking wine in the evening.

Not starting until second week of January because of birthdays and I do want to finish off the chocolate in the house Blush

EmmanuelleMakro · 29/12/2020 04:42

Could anyone suggest any healthy and nutritious meal ideas?
My go to is spinach (frozen) microwaved with an egg on top and a sprinkle of grated parmesan. Very quick and filling. Always buy spinach frozen as more nutritious and quick to cook.
For snacking I keep cooked beetroot in the fridge (bought in vacuum packs in Asda) a d eat them with a tiny amount of grated cheese. Very filling and calories only fro. The cheese but only needs a tiny bit of cheese to flavour.

relievedlady · 29/12/2020 05:43

I'm in.

Have gained over 2 stone over the course of two years.

Am now the same weight I was at 40 weeks pregnant with my now 15 year old Blush

Am just lowering some medication that is known for weight gain and have bought a wii fit and board ready

saiditbetterthanme · 29/12/2020 06:08

Up at the crack of dawn today with toddler and 2month old ds. So far, I've managed to dust the old fitbit off, a round of washing is on the go and we are sorting through Christmas presents ready to tidy away a bit later. We are going for a walk to the furthest away shop in an hour (about a 25min walk each way) and I will pop the baby in a carrier and wear him, whilst holding the toddlers hand.
Worse thing about mornings like today is the snacking. I've grabbed a flapjack and a black coffee as a quick go to. I never seem to have time to eat a proper breakfast!

Sonnet18 · 29/12/2020 07:50

Can I join? Heaviest I’ve ever been and it’s definitely baby weight (she says as the 4 and 5 year olds wander past...!) It’s simply down to my own laziness and greediness.
Going for a walk today, will cut out bread and do a workout later...starting slow and will begin properly in January.
Well done to everyone who has already started! We can do this!!

PeggyMoo · 29/12/2020 08:14

@saiditbetterthanme I’m so impressed! I also have a 2 month old and a toddler and move at a snails pace in the morning.

Looking at getting a Fitbit to encourage more activity - does anyone have any recommendations?
