I'm the fattest I have ever been and need to take drastic action for the sake of my health and sanity. I am 15st8 🤦‍♀️ was a stone lighter at nine months pregnant!!

Going to weigh in every Monday and hoping some of you lovely ladies will join me so we can keep each other motivated.

Happy new year everyone!

I’ve had a bad few days so haven’t posted. I need to get back into W better bedtime routine as if I wake up tired, all motivation goes out the window!

YourWurstNightmare · 01/01/2021 09:33

@Barksmum12

Can I join? Starting Monday. I don’t really recognise myself, I’m not really sure what happened.
A very common feeling for many of us this year, I'm sure!

Welcome and good luck.

Bobbiepin · 01/01/2021 09:34

Happy new year everyone.

I've woken up hungry, was intentionally off track for dinner last night but ate more than I was intending. I'm craving a big bowl of sugary cereal, trying to be realistic and understand it's a sugar crash from last night.

muddledmidget · 01/01/2021 09:39

I've just weighed in, 12st7, which is 7lb more than I weighed this time last year, which I'm not completely horrified about after the horror that was 2020!

To make a change this year I've been open with my husband for the first time about how much I weigh and that my BMI is now just below 30, and that I want his support to get to a BMI of 24.5. His weight is just above where it should be so he's also aiming for a BMI of 24.5, which he will probably achieve by the end of Jan whereas I'm looking at the end of May.

We're just having a healthy breakfast and then we're going for a walk to the beach with a flask of coffee

Neverland2013 · 01/01/2021 09:47

I am in..

cactusisblooming · 01/01/2021 09:51

I'm in. Had COVID about 6 weeks ago and that jolted me into doing something about my 15 stone body that has crept up in the last 3-4 years. I'm losing a slow 1lb per week, but still having a slice of cake or chocolate bar per day, so I hope to have lost 3 stone by this date 2022.

Staringatthetiles · 01/01/2021 10:02

Can I join please?
I too weigh more now than when I was pregnant and I’m so embarrassed about it. I want to get back to running but I’m too fat at the moment, none of my running clothes fit.
I’m going to start today. My aims today are to drink more water, no eating after 6pm and make a start on 30 days of yoga with Adriene. Has anyone tried it?

schnubbins · 01/01/2021 10:02

I put on 10 kgs five years ago after foot surgery .I was non weight bearing for 3 months and on crutches for 6months.I got an awful fright when I was finally able to stand on the scales.I lost that weight then with WW but it is unfortunately now all back on again and it has to go.I have a big tummy which I never had plus menopausal and shifting weight has become so difficult.I want to fit into my clothes again when summer comes.

This thread is enlightening, baffling and concerning

So many plans and promises and future dates for starting. So much unhappiness.

Just start eating less, eating ether and moving more. There is NO big secret to not being overweight. There really isn’t.

Don’t makes enormous promises or changes. Small steps and gradually build up.

From... today!!!

If it was that easy, the diet industry wouldn’t be worth the millions of pounds it is. Delighted it’s so easy for you, it isn’t easy for everyone.

Now DFOD 👋🏻

Sup1979 · 01/01/2021 10:10

It’s worth the millions because it doesn’t work long term so people keep failing and returning.

Imagine starting your new year off by jumping on a weight loss thread and behaving like that.

Baffles the mind

Maybe because some people work better with that mindset. Not quite sure what you're wanting from the thread since you find it so easy.

Some people want to be rid of the temptation of Christmas food.
Some people work well with the mindset of a new year and a fresh start.
Some people prefer to wait until back at work/kids back at school for their usual daily routine.

Shock horror, some people don't find it as easy as you apparently do, for any one of a multitude of reasons.

Now, do toddle off to carry on your perfectly easy lifestyle where physical health, mental health, and any number of other circumstances don't seem to matter 🤷‍♀️

Cosyjimjamsforautumn · 01/01/2021 10:54

Can I join you? I think I'm the heaviest i've ever been, my knees hurt if i walk any distance and i get breathless as i'm carrying an extra 3 stone of lard. I got myself a salsa dvd for xmas so i can exercise inside when the weather is crap but intend to walk daily for 30-40mins as i dont get any exercise working from home and that's not helped my weight.
Just off to weigh myself now so i can officially set up my app 👍

Sideorderofchips · 01/01/2021 10:55

I'm. With you!

Shark2020 · 01/01/2021 11:08

I'm in. 18st 2 1/2 lb, disgusted with myself, just dug out my old sw book, this was from 17/18 and I've been back since then, so as you can see I'm not very successful I usually lose around 2-3 stone and then stop, not sure why, it's all in my head but I need to do it. So hoping some help will motivate me, happy new year and good luck everyone!!

ivyjoy · 01/01/2021 11:14

Weighed myself . 10 stone 12 so need to lose about a stone . Starting today Smile

Sideorderofchips · 01/01/2021 12:24

I'm at 17st 12.i had got down to 16st 7 but put it all back on 🙄 still I started at 19st 7 so thete is loss there

Aspiringmatriarch · 01/01/2021 13:44

@AIMD sorry, just seen your question. Mindful eating is basically me trying to slow down and enjoy what I eat instead of shovelling it in, whether it's snacks or meals. I'm also going to pay more attention to how I'm feeling generally, whether I really do want a certain thing to eat or if it's just habit/programming. I'm hoping by coming at it from that perspective and from a mental and physical health 'holistic' approach, I won't get myself into the cycle of self-denial followed by feeling like a failure. I think I'll try weighing myself tomorrow morning and then again in a month's time and see what effect it has without making rigid rules or calorie counting. I'm yet to see if it will be effective but I think January is a good time to try it out.

BearFoxBear · 01/01/2021 14:29

I'm in too.

I have about 3 stone to lose - I lost just under a stone over summer using noom (good psychology-wise, but the app is awful at tracking calories which kind of defeats the purpose) so I can definitely do it.

Unfortunately I'm now on antidepressants which are messing with my metabolism and making me crave carbs and sweet things when I don't normally have a sweet tooth!

Anyway, I got a fitbit for Christmas, have been hitting 10k steps a day, and will be back to swimming once the gym opens again.

IHateCoronavirus · 01/01/2021 16:25

Happy new year everyone good luck to us all in our weight loss journeys.

Musmerian · 01/01/2021 16:56

Happy New Year everyone. Last night I had a whole bottle of champagne, Pommes Anna, duck, cheese and lots of Mint Matchmakers! Today I reset my Lose It app, went for a walk and am counting calories again.

NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoBy · 01/01/2021 17:29

@NovemberR

If it helps, I decided this at 15 stone 10lb last New Year. I'm 12stone 5 now, so much better...but still really need to lose another couple of stone next year. I'm post menopause so it's doable if that encourages anyone.

I basically tried to avoid sugar and bread.

This is what I want to do @NovemberR I've read a few books on the toxicity of sugar / sweetnesses

Any tips?

Staringatthetiles · 01/01/2021 17:45

I’ve just weighed myself, 13st 9. How have I let myself get to this point?
