I think I spied one of my vintage books dev, I'll have a dig when I get to my office. Yeah, things like a chicken breast were 2 points (4 on propoints) I did that program around 1999-2000 I think?
Poor DS life, that must be horrible for a child. House steps for you?

Hello, can I join? I am 14st up from an adult average weight of 9st and need to do something urgently. But even thinking about dieting makes me Eat All The Food. I’m going to have to use pounds though, as I’m in Canada and can’t be doing with switching the scales back and forth! So current weight is 190lb and my first target is 180lb. I need to be able to do my winter coat up without it unzipping itself from the bottom Blush

Not2bObvious · 12/01/2021 08:09

You're very welcome three, a few of us use pounds as well so you're in good company. What method do you think you'll follow?

threeitchyfeet · 12/01/2021 08:12

Thank you not. I’m not sure, calorie counting or a points system. It’s tricky because DH cooks dinner several nights a week. Probably starting with rules like not drinking calories, no junky snacks and no seconds/thirds is the easiest.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/01/2021 08:34

Welcome three.

Yes house steps unless I can get for a walk. Later

Not2bObvious · 12/01/2021 09:02

Sound like good ideas three, eating off a smaller plate too is a good calorie reducing strategy when dealing with the unknown.

both up and down today. up from the last time i posted, but down from the last time i weighed in.

i keep getting annoyed with MFP so haven't been tracking.

blueberry porridge for breakfast here. then lots of water.

having a bigger lunch and smaller dinners so i can work it off during the day. this has worked for me previously.

devildeepbluesea · 12/01/2021 09:07

Hiya three I'm fairly new too!

Agree about the smaller plate. I inherited a 60s Pyrex dinner service from my grandparents, plates are much smaller. Really helps to control portion size.

Gensola · 12/01/2021 12:53

Hello all! Another small loss today taking me to 2lbs total. I know it’s probably all water but I’m taking it!
Just need to keep at it now, I’ve mentally said to myself I’m in this til the end of March and we will see where the scales are then. I’ve never stuck to a diet/change of lifestyle for longer than 3 weeks, except when I tried Team RH during lockdown one when I was on 1700 cals and working out loads and didn’t shift a single pound. At least I didn’t gain, I guess!

Now aiming for 1200ish a day but I will admit I’m not tracking properly. I think I’ll see if I continue to lose and if not I’ll start weighing food.

threeitchyfeet · 12/01/2021 13:47

Great work gen!

Smaller plates are a good tip. Also putting the food on the plate all in one go and not having extras while cooking or cleaning up.

Not2bObvious · 12/01/2021 16:57

I found my 123 Success 2000 book dev!! It was 20 points up to 12 stone. And 22 after that, what a blast from the past. I think you could count a point as roughly 50 cals, so around 1000-1100 plus some fruit/veg free.
Well one thing about trying my pro points experiment, you get very precious about your points pretty quickly. I'm having a chicken breast for 4, rather than the breaded breast the rest are having for 8, having stirfry veg for just the oils points, rather than 6 points for pasta. It's something to distract me, be interesting to see what cals/points I get through today. I'm sure y'all are on the edge of your seats😂

😂 brilliant! I'll have a look for mine tomorrow!

Gensola · 12/01/2021 17:51

not I remember my mum making a massive pot of zero point soup with tomatoes, courgettes and orange zest Grin

Not2bObvious · 12/01/2021 17:57

Oh stop, I remember the courgette love - I tried so hard to like it! Ahhh zero points, the holy grail😂

OP posts:
Gensola · 12/01/2021 18:05

This particular soup tasted of air freshener 😂

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/01/2021 18:28

Having never done ww or sw I'm actually fascinated.

Not2bObvious · 12/01/2021 18:59

I think I first went to WW 23 years ago? I remember I went with a friend. I did WW on/off for probably 13 years. I only did SW once, it wasn't big in Ireland when I did it, didn't really get on with it. I did unislim, I think happier ran or did a class if I remember her saying before? A bit similar to WW but I could be wrong, that wasn't fantastically successful for me either.
Watching how I'm eating the last 2 days, if I stuck to it, I'd lose. That's a mighty big if with wine at 3 points a 125ml glass😂

Evening everyone , hope everyone is alright Flowers
Very sad news for me tonight, my Cousins Dh has died very suddenly this afternoon , he was in hospital with Covid over Christmas , came home and seemed as if he was over it , he became very ill over the last week and was readmitted Sunday. He was 76 had COPD . He wasn't admitted to ITU , l think they were hoping he was going to come home, when the phone call came to my Cousin she thought it was to collect him Sad. So sad . It really hits home when this happens in your own family on your doorstep. So take care everyone, stay safe , love and hugs to everyone Flowers

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/01/2021 19:19

devildeepbluesea · 13/01/2021 09:39

Started the day with Bodypump and DD'S couch to 5k run. Now to sit on my arse for 8 hours!

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/01/2021 10:16

I walked to the office today and out to do a couple of jobs. Will walk home too. Currently on 7k steps. Had a Gregg bacon role too
