Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?

So I have approx. 15lbs to lose to get back to my comfortable weight and for my clothes to fit! Thanks to lockdown and a toddler that still doesn't sleep meaning I rely on sugar to get me through the day...

I'm aiming to break it up into 3 5lb mini goals so I don't feel like it's unmanageable before I ever start Grin

Nothing faddy, just planning to make better choices with my food, plan more, and move more too. I have some short-ish term goals that I'm hoping will be enough motivation for me to shift the weight 👶🏻

Anyone want to join? I'd be happy to keep a list going (if there's not too many of us!) to record our weights and losses if anyone would want that too.

I made pumpkin bread. I hadn't snacked or eaten a sweet for days but I fear what it will have done to my weight!

swampytiggaa · 25/10/2020 17:58

No one has failed. Today is just a day. This bloody weight didn’t pile on overnight so it won’t disappear overnight.

As we say at parkrun it’s a run not a race meaning it takes as long as it takes 🙂

PurpleDaisies · 25/10/2020 18:11

It’s DH’s birthday so we’re away. There been a walk in the country including big hill. Eating has been very relaxed. There has been cake and there will be wine.

Totally agree with it not being a race, and aiming for overall good rather than every meal “good” is sensible and sustainable.

momo3w · 25/10/2020 19:06

Some really good positive things happening for lots of people on this thread - it’s good to be a part of! 😊

My weight is the same this morning so still 73.6. Our older boys ended up have a sleepover with mates so we got takeaway curry for dinner and I didn’t hold back. Not fussed about the weight, I know I’ve had all in all a good week and am on the right track. It’s day 2 of my period which will account for a bit so I’m not beating myself up!

momo3w · 25/10/2020 19:10

Oh actually not the same up .2 but still ok.

Frustratedmummy79 · 25/10/2020 19:11

I'm not confident about weigh in tomorrow at all - I lost my mojo this week and although I haven't been stupid I have definitely let it go a bit 😩

BrimfulOfBaba · 25/10/2020 19:29

It's really lovely to see people enjoying their weekends and taking it easy. In previous weight loss journeys I've been so fatalistic about 'failures' and it's not been healthy. I'm really appreciating this group for a more realistic and practical outlook.

That said, instead of my workout this evening, I peer pressured DP into getting a Chinese with me.

My weigh in will not be great tomorrow!! But I do also know next week will be balanced. Because my wedding is approaching and I really do need to rein myself in!

Happyface120 · 25/10/2020 19:40

Yep, having been all or nothing in the past and then hating myself for failing, I'm really trying to embrace a more gentle approach this time.
I have a few days off with kids now, also in Wales, so nowhere open. Planning a run early tomorrow then another long walk later on. Will be strict during the day, then healthy evening meal again.
I have DDs birthday this week, and then halloween 🎃 , so will likely be fairly relaxed with food, as have promised kids a bit of a party (and DD has requested home made pasties for her birthday lunch Grin).
Will even out over the week though

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 25/10/2020 20:45

Had a good day:
Small amount of granola, Greek yog and blueberries

Slice of toast (no butter) with half an avocado and some tomatoes

2 oatcake biscuits with a Tbsp of cottage cheese

Stir fry veg, some noodles (200 cals worth) and a small piece of cod

1 alcohol free beer.

A session at the gym.

Ups and downs are no problem, I am pleased with how I have done and am doing overall. But if I had kept a graph of my weight loss it has been a zig zag line of ups and downs, but the whole zigzag trending downwards.

We shouldn’t be discouraged by an afternoon enjoying cake, and especially not by ice cream Grin

DownUdderer · 26/10/2020 02:25

It's Monday for me, I'm in Australia.

Start weight 10st
Today's weight 9st 11

Happyface120 · 26/10/2020 06:46

Well done DownUdderer
Start weight 11st 7lb.
Today's weight 11st 4lb.

Hollyhead · 26/10/2020 06:57

Hello, can I join? I only need to lose 4lb, to make my clothes looser/comfortable, but I’m struggling to muster up the motivation! I only need to be sensible and active for 3-4 weeks, so it’s ridiculous really!

swampytiggaa · 26/10/2020 06:58

Morning! Average weight for last week was 9st 12lb 🙂

kwaziseyepatch · 26/10/2020 06:59

1lb off - 9st 9
God bless breastfeeding!
This week I'm hoping to eat lots of fresh veggies as I'm getting a taste for them. I had 1/2 a yum yum yesterday and actually got a headache

PrincessConsuelaBH · 26/10/2020 07:09

Well done to all of you on your losses Grin really that's great! Hopefully we'll have some more from the others. 🤞🏻

My scales are still at my DP's, I'll weigh this morning when I drop DC off, but I will have had some breakfast. My healthy eating went to pot both Sat/Sun nights, BUT I'm going to try not to be disheartened by the number as I think it's highly unlikely I'll have lost. Will report back! And also update the list tonight Smile

73 Kg , Lost 0.5 Kg

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 26/10/2020 07:34

Go for it, Hollyhead!

dudsville · 26/10/2020 08:00

Welcome Holly!

Congratulations to those with losses and the rest who haven't gained big amounts - slight increases don't count in my book as bodies are weird things.

I've weighed in this morning at a 2.8 lb loss. I'm thrilled but not excited as I weigh daily and could see it happening - it's a real motivator. To celebrate I am wearing a pair of jeans that are thick and without stretch, that have a two inch wide nipped in waist, hard to explain but they are the "Addison" from Lucy & Yak, I haven't been able to wear them comfortably for months.

I'm going to be eating a massive 4 cheese pizza this Saturday. I've been looking forward to it for weeks. At the moment I feel I don't want to do it sensibly, i.e. eat a reasonable portion... neither can I really reduce my intake loads further to accommodate the huge number of calories. I'll have to think about that one.

PrincessConsuelaBH · 26/10/2020 08:12

@dudsville well done! Enjoy wearing those jeans Smile

Also hi! 👋🏻 to the new joiners! Welcome to the group, I will include you on the updated list later.

Gordonsgrin · 26/10/2020 08:19

Last week 10st 5.25
This week 10st 4.0
Total lost 17lbs

Not sure why it is only a loss of .75, especially as the last few days I have been weighing at 10st 3.5. But this is why I weigh every day because if I didn’t know that this is a weird blip i would be disheartened. Especially As I have eaten well and exercised this week.
Well done to everyone else, and keep the faith to those who’s weigh in is like mine Confused

BrimfulOfBaba · 26/10/2020 08:35

Welcome @Hollyhead!

I am the same as last week - 9st 11. I'm not surprised but am a little annoyed at myself, when I weighed myself on Thursday I was 9st8.8. If anyone is lurking this thread, this is why the 'restrict all week, go mad on the weekend' route doesn't look like it works!

I am going to have another good week of workouts and appropriate calorie intake, and this week's challenge/experiment will be to stick to plan on the weekend, too. Will ask DP to be more supportive. The challenge will be that my period is due!

HaggisBurger · 26/10/2020 08:51

I’m 10st9. So I think down a pound 😬

Frustratedmummy79 · 26/10/2020 08:58

Today I'm 10st 5lb so I've gained a pound Angry although I'm not surprised

swampytiggaa · 26/10/2020 09:59

I weigh daily and then take the average weight for the week. So for my weigh in I’ve given 9:12 but my actual weight this morning was 9:10. I’d rather do that as I’m not relying on one day for make or break iyswim.

BrimfulOfBaba · 26/10/2020 10:09

I may copy your approach @swampytiggaa, I weigh myself every day too and the number is always much lower than it is on monday at the moment!
