Starting again! 4 stone to lose!!! Friday weigh in

Katiemaggie · 28/08/2020 09:27

So yet again I have let my weight get out of control and am determined to lose it. In 2013 I lost over 8 stone and reached my goal weight of 10 stone. I felt happy and confident. However, 2 children and a lot of unhealthy habits have led to 4 stone of that going back on 😢 I have signed back up to myfitnesspal and am going back to the gym. Did my first tums and bums class on Wed and my muscles are still burning 😩😂. Going to do a weekly Friday weigh in to try and keep myself on track. Anyone who would like to join me to keep each other motivated is very welcome 😊

Starting weight: 14st 5lbs
Current weight: 13st 12.5lbs
Goal weight: 10st

Start on 31/8 13.11 but had probably been higher a few months ago!
11/9 13.4
18/9 13.1

Total loss 10lbs

Curry tomorrow, but ready meal with cauliflower rice

Fruitinator · 18/09/2020 15:54

Well done Aurorie11 that is a brill loss, enjoy your curry.

helenb706 Good result, I find hormones can cause water retention, gain for no reason then woosh it comes off- no rhyme or reason.

Sarahp2308 · 19/09/2020 08:53

Morning!!

I am another 2lb lighter this week! Yay!

Start weight: 11.12
Current Weight: 11.1
Goal weight: 9.7

11 pounds down altogether....Hoping to be down into the 10’s next week.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Aurorie11 · 19/09/2020 09:48

Congrats @Sarahp2308

I've also lost 11lbs but 2 stone heavier than you and the same target weigh Sad

How's your lockdown?

Sarahp2308 · 19/09/2020 09:57

Well done @Aurorie11 its so easy to put on though isn’t it, since calorie counting and actually taking notice of serving sizes I am shocked at how much I was eating!

It’s not too bad although alot of people don’t seem to be sticking to it so I think we will get tougher measures here soon!

Katiemaggie · 19/09/2020 10:55

Well done everyone 😊 I have not had a good week and in typical fashion avoided the scales yesterday! (even though I know I need to face the truth!). I have however managed to keep up my "move for mind" challenge and have exercised everyday in September 👍 I am really motivated by all of your losses and ready to get myself back on track! (again!!!)

Hi all, weighed myself this morning and I'm 13 stone 4.5lb, completely forgot to take a pic though.
Start weight on 1/09= 13.8
Weight now on 19/09=13.4
Just under 4lb loss in just under 3 weeks!! I think I've found a really good balance now. I hope your all feeling well and finding the pounds easy to shift :)

Asda12 · 21/09/2020 00:25

I’m being the devils avdicat here opp
You won’t loose weight because you make so many excuses to yourself

Asda12 · 21/09/2020 00:33

Stop being a child you don’t need treats you don’t need to treat yourself grow up and get slimmer

Asda12 · 21/09/2020 01:01

Statistics say that you are only going to loose 20% with exercise so you are wasting your time ,just eat less .

Loseastonein21years · 21/09/2020 04:49

@Asda12 I see Splendid Sunrise or whatever you were before has name changed and come back to troll. Same illiterate style (probably as a result of drink). Why don’t you get lost and leave people alone.

Katiemaggie · 21/09/2020 06:40

I knew I would get some backlash this week 😕 and to be honest I have fallen off the wagon. However this is why I started this thread. I struggle with my eating habits and I need support. These are not excuses, it's me being honest. I could have come on here and say I've eaten nothing but lettuce and lost 5 stone but I haven't! I am struggling. Today is a new day and the start of a new week

@Asda12 please if you can’t say something nice leave the chat

helenb706 · 21/09/2020 08:26

Katiemaggie... we are all struggling and trying to do something positive in all the world's chaos so you should be commended. I believe in you because you, like me, recognise what has to change in our behaviour to get there. This isn't a sprint it is a marathon and we would never criticise someone whose training isn't always going well.
Asda12... I don't go on social media, this is a first for me and I am dismayed by you. I don't know what you are trying to achieve by being so horrible to someone you don't even know... one day, perhaps even now, you will need someone to help you and you will accept it...I only hope you reflect on your unacceptable behaviour and come back to apologise, but I very much doubt you will as you have bigger problems than just a bit of weight to get rid of.

Sarahp2308 · 21/09/2020 08:45

@Asda12 is that you, splendid sunrise 🤨 seriously get a grip!

Katiemaggie · 21/09/2020 10:50

Thanks everyone for your kind words 😊

@Katiemaggie Don't worry or feel bad-we all fall off the wagon, our relationships with food are so nuanced and emotional. I have struggled with BED for years, and it wasn't until after CBT that I have been able to get a handle on it. I also had a book which helped me called The Beck Diet Solution. We don't just eat for nutrition, we eat at all the emotional points in our life., no wonder people struggle- we set it up so! Flowers to you. fresh week, fresh start- think positively and don't let a biscuit beat you! Wink

Asda12 Wondering if you have ever thought of counselling as you seem to be struggling with your own self-esteem. Being rude to strangers on the internet will not make you feel any better.

Mimosa1 · 21/09/2020 13:10

Hello everyone,

May I join you? I'm on the low carb Bootcamp thread but it's very quiet as the next bootcamp doesn't start until mid October. DH and I are on a healthy eating plan (no sugar, low carb) until Christmas having both out on loads of weight in lockdown annoyingly it's falling off him much faster than me

Starting weight today : 74.5kgs

Hope everyone had a good week

Katiemaggie · 21/09/2020 13:42

Thank you @fruitinator 😘 I feel much more motivated again this week. Back on myfitnesspal today which I have avoided for a while. So far so good, just need to keep it up 😊 well done to everyone else and welcome to the new members xxx

Waves @Mimosa1 more the merrier, its annoying that men loose weight more quickly!

Sarahp2308 · 21/09/2020 19:52

Why does that happen, it seems to fall off men without them even trying 🤨

Aurorie11 · 21/09/2020 20:10

My stomach must be shrinking, I struggled to sleep last night as I still felt very full after dinner. I ate at 6pm - 2 slices of roast beef, 1 small yorkshire, 2 small roast potatoes, 2 tblsps of cauliflower cheese and loads of carrots & cabbage. I only had breakfast and dinner yesterday. Was still feeling stuffed at 11pm, so didn't eat until 11.30 this morning.

On the bright side it's a good prompt not to snack and feel over full at bed time

Mimosa1 · 22/09/2020 20:14

I know! Men...

Does anyone have some good go to recipes they recommend? I've been making this incredible tomato salad out of the Ottolenghi Simple book.

Peel and chop a 3/4cm piece of ginger, roughly chop and mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt to make a paste - ideally in a pestle and mortar though you could just chop the ginger finely then mix in a bowl.

Mix in 2/3 finely chopped salad onions and a glug of oil (sunflower or olive) and a glug of red wine or sherry vinegar

Finely slice beefsteak tomatoes onto a dish

Poor over the ginger "salsa" and finish off with lots of fresh coriander and another bit of vinegar and some olive oil.

It's delicious ! We've had it almost every night this week. It's very forgiving if you don't follow the recipe or get the quantities quite right.

Fruitinator · 23/09/2020 10:54

Mimosa1 Welcome to the thread- the recipe sounds lovely, I'm always after ways to jazz veg up. I've been eying up an Ottolenghi book.
Aurorie11 That sounds a really nice dinner. It is a horrible feeling at night when you feel really full.

I have started running/shuffling again after an 18mth hiatus- hoping upping the exercise will keep me on track, it really mentally helps me too. I don't count/eat the calories burned, though everything is on my tracker. Aiming to be able to do a regular 5k by the end of November. Putting it here makes it real.

I hope everyone is having a good week.

Katiemaggie · 23/09/2020 11:30

Sound like everyone is doing really positive things 😊 I am having a much better week. I am back to tracking mindfully and continuing my exercise. Today is a real challenge because for the first time in forever I have a day off at home with no children. Wednesday is my day off work but I am usually running around after my boys. Little one started school last week so now have a day to myself every Wednesday. Usually I would use this as a perfect excuse to sit and watch TV all day and snack. But have managed to overcome that urge and am doing my college work, cleaning the house and going for a walk. Thanks again for everyone's support it has got me back in the mindset 😊
