Starting again! 4 stone to lose!!! Friday weigh in

Katiemaggie · 28/08/2020 09:27

So yet again I have let my weight get out of control and am determined to lose it. In 2013 I lost over 8 stone and reached my goal weight of 10 stone. I felt happy and confident. However, 2 children and a lot of unhealthy habits have led to 4 stone of that going back on 😢 I have signed back up to myfitnesspal and am going back to the gym. Did my first tums and bums class on Wed and my muscles are still burning 😩😂. Going to do a weekly Friday weigh in to try and keep myself on track. Anyone who would like to join me to keep each other motivated is very welcome 😊

Starting weight: 14st 5lbs
Current weight: 13st 12.5lbs
Goal weight: 10st

I think you have to allow yourself a treat here and there otherwise you go crazy. I tend to binge on the weekend...I re-eat all my good work from the week 😂

I also snack out of boredom I should really do something productive instead of eating biscuits...i like the idea of changing one thing a week maybe that will be my one thing for next week.

How good is a massive roast on a sunday though 😋 no pudding is definitely a victory!

ColouringPencils · 30/08/2020 18:01

Please can I join you. I started dieting in May and was doing okay until a few weeks ago - holidays, having people visit, returning to restaurants etc - I have been eating so indulgently. I haven't weighed myself yet, really hope I have not put it all back on.

Katiemaggie · 30/08/2020 18:43

Of course 😊 welcome @ColouringPencils x

Whats everyone having for tea? I'm having sausage casserole with pasta, corn on the cob and carrots. Had a good afternoon, only snacked on one strawberry 😂

rainbowsssss · 30/08/2020 18:59

@Katiemaggie I'm doing the same with my exercise calories, keeping them as a buffer for if I go over. I'm not deliberately eating them but also not not eating them if I need them.

Aurorie11 · 30/08/2020 19:25

I'm in, was on another board but had a wobble and will restart tomorrow. I need to loose at least 4 stone, will report back in the morning

KatherineParr4 · 30/08/2020 19:28

I’m in! I started a few weeks ago and lost about five pounds then fell off the wagging due to a celebration. I think I’ve put it all back again.
I’m four stone overweight as well and intend to use MFP.

KarenMacdonald · 30/08/2020 19:42

@Katiemaggie

That's brilliant *@rainbowssss*, well done 😊 I definitely do better when "allowed" to have treats. When I originally lost weight in 2013 I did it through ww. But back then it was pro points and was basically just tracking and calorie counting. When I tried there again it had changed and was much more restrictive (especially with carbs!!) and I just couldn't get along with it. I'm tracking everything on myfitnesspal which is great. All free and tracks food and exercise.
There need for u to lose weight u already fat
KatherineParr4 · 30/08/2020 19:43

I can’t start properly for another ten days though.

Katiemaggie · 30/08/2020 19:50

@KatherineParr4 i did exaclty the same had a really good few weeks, felt much better then one reward turned into weeks of naughty food 🤣

Crunchymum · 30/08/2020 21:03

I would like to join. I am ashamed that it may well be a bit more than 4st I need to lose.

Lockdown was not kind to my mental health and I am a classic comfort eater (and drinker Sad)

We go away tomorrow but once we get back (6th Sept) then I want to detox. 30 days alcohol free, 1300 cals a day, walking as much as my arthritis will allow [can do 10k on a good day but have had a flare recently] and just taking some bloody responsibility for my shit.

I am at the stage I am avoiding "life" due to my weight and it needs to stop. I had all those weeks of lockdown to sort myself out and I didn't. I'm demoralised and sad and ashamed.

Katiemaggie · 30/08/2020 21:10

Welcome @Crunchymum 😊 please don't feel sad and ashamed 😢 I too could easily have used lockdown to sort myself but instead spent it binge eating! We are all here to support each other and doesn't matter how much or little we have to lose. Small positive steps. You can do it xxx

Hi, I love to join you ladies!! I'm in desperate need of a bit of support with weight loss and dieting..I've got a 9 month old I'm currently BF and I feel huge!! I've been dieting..not loosing as much as I should, then feeling sorry for myself and start eating things I shouldn't again :( I need a few tips about the best food to eat and exercises that are flexible considering I don't get much time to myself with my little one..and it would help a lot from other people going through it x

KatherineParr4 · 30/08/2020 21:36
@KatherineParr4 i did exaclty the same had a really good few weeks, felt much better then one reward turned into weeks of naughty food 🤣
I’m glad I’m not the only one! I feel so crap about myself and feel so much worse physically as well.

Sarahp2308 · 30/08/2020 21:41

@Crunchymum please don’t feel ashamed, it doesn’t matter how much you have to lose it’s all about how you feel, I have also been hiding from life, anytime somebody mentions going out anywhere I panic thinking what am I going to wear?!?! and for seeing anyone I haven’t seen for a while I couldn’t think of anything worse!

@MUM2019MARVEL I wouldn’t rule out any foods in particular, just try tracking what you eating I started doing this today and OMG i was definitely eating way too much! As for exercise there are lots of home workout videos on youtube that dont need much or any equipment this is what I’m going to start with i think!

Sarahp2308 · 30/08/2020 21:43

@KatherineParr4 so do I, awful isn’t it? I’m so physically unfit now I’m out of breath walking the dog 😳 I thought I must of had COVID at one point but no just overweight 🤣🤣

rainbowsssss · 30/08/2020 23:16

Anyone looking for a dieting support APP, I switched to this one today on this offer. Seems pretty good so far.

Aurorie11 · 31/08/2020 08:16

13.11 starting point, the only way is down!

Sarahp2308 · 31/08/2020 11:02

How are we all feeling this morning? Motivated or not very?

I’ve woken up full of motivation, not sure how long that will last 😂 almost 8000 steps done already, dog walk and walking to the shop rather than driving 💪🏼

Hope you’re all having a fab bank holiday

Katiemaggie · 31/08/2020 12:28

I woke up feeling motivated but now on the way to a pub Bbq! 😂 Will have to get down the gym this evening!!!

Thanks @Katiemaggie I don’t blame you on the BBQ may aswell enjoy the rest of the summer while you can!

Katiemaggie · 31/08/2020 23:00

Does anyone else find that during the week they are absolutely fine but at weekends they go to pot? Everyday this bank holiday weekend has been spent socialising. Which has of course meant food and drink! Next weekend is my FIL's 70th birthday and the weekend after that I am away for the weekend for my birthday. I am trying to stay on track but find it so hard when the temptation is right there. I'm hoping that eating well and exercising during the week will balance any breaks in my will power!
