Does anyone want to lose half a stone with me?

I had success with weight loss via a thread in January, but things have slipped a bit and I want to get down half a stone. Anyone in!?
I’ll be calorie counting.

If not I’ll just talk into the void; helps me to feel accountable..!

Sonmi451 (love the name btw). Tell everyone how delicious the cake is, so they eat it quickly.

Sonmi451 · 13/07/2020 13:20

@Teacher12345 Cake? Bloody awful stuff.

@SecularPanic Thanks - awesome book, one of my favourites ever. There's only two of us here. The other guy is working on the cake, to save me, bless him.

I've just had lunch - supposedly "bistro salad" but basically spinach, with slices of chorizo, and then some protein-y yoghurt thing. The weight will be gone by tomorrow, right? Right?

This is my problem too, quick results! Not quick enough. I get fed up quickly.

throws hat into ring

I’ve lost a stone during lockdown. But still got half a stone let for go. Currently weighing in at 10st 4.

Really struggling to shift the last half stone.

FancyARoot · 13/07/2020 19:48

Hi!! I’m so pleased there’s a few of us!! I really had success on the last thread but seriously slipped in lockdown..!

I weighed in this morning at 8st11. But I’m sure my scales are weighing light as I know I’m more than that. I am very small and petite and I have definite rolls at this weight! I was 8st7 before down from 9st7 and I’d like to get back there.

I’ve had success today, 1289 calories. I don’t expect it to last though, my willpower has nosedived lately 😭

@Sonmi451

Damn it, I've got into work and there's cake. How long do you reckon I can hold out? Place your bets.
I usually work in a role where cake is plentiful. I developed the (very wasteful) strategy of cutting a small piece of cake, having one bite, then getting rid of the rest into the bin etc. Upshot is - minimal cake intake, colleagues stop hassling me to have cake, and I can’t go back for more cake as I’ve already ‘had’ cake 😂

I’m not insane, I promise!

@Fancyaroot good strategy, not crazy at all. Stopping when I've eaten enough, rather than keeping going until I'm full, is one of mine.

It did look like the kind of cake you'd want a good wedge of though, and ordinarily I'd have had a good crack at it. Glad I resisted though.

MellowBird85 · 13/07/2020 20:25

Well done @FancyARoot, we can do this! I’ve tracked cals on MFP today (1250) and have even measured salad cream out 😭 but I accept it’s a loose estimate cos I refuse to track milk in my tea and coffee 😅 (only have about 3 cups a day). I also forced myself to do a fitness DVD this morning so feeling good about that but I know what I’m like - as the week goes on my resolve will wane. I also hate the light-headed, weak feeling I get on a low cal diet...my worst time is around 4-5pm when I feel absolutely ravenous and fatigued. Just had tea so feel better now but very tired!

Milly90 · 13/07/2020 20:32

Hi can i join. I have put on around 10lb over the last 12-18months not just lockdown

I am currently 11 7
Ideally want to be 10.13

Thinking of getting a PT session booked in for a 4 week course.... until then ill be calorie counting with MFP and walking alot

Whats everyones go to low cal lunch and breakfast?

Teacher12345 · 13/07/2020 20:38

I have done okay today.
Ate around 1300 calories, did a Joe Wicks and went for a short jog this evening.

@Milly90 - I am rubbish with breakfast and usually have a slice of toast and fruit. Lunch has been soup.

Flynn999 · 13/07/2020 20:51

Cals today - 1273 and then an hour run this evening.

My Fitbit broke a few weeks ago and i miss it, my phone definitely doesn’t track steps/exercise anywhere near as well as my Fitbit did 😭.

@Milly90 always have porridge on the morning, Quaker Oats do sachets you add milk to, that and a cup of coffee is just under 300 and keeps me going. Lunch is normally a salad. So lettuce, cucumber, peppers, red onion, beetroot, chicken, boiled egg and then salad dressing.

Sonmi451 · 13/07/2020 21:15

I don't usually have breakfast as such, but I have a cup of tea, and whilst I'm making the kids' packed lunches I might eat a slice of cheese and a piece of ham - fat and protein, but no carbs. Occasionally I'll have a boiled egg, if I'm especially hungry.

FizzyPink · 13/07/2020 21:26

I’ll join as well. We’re off to Barcelona in 4 weeks (fingers crossed) and I’ve gained so much weight around my stomach I need to lose before then.

Doing a bit of Intermittent fasting with a LCHF diet which has worked brilliantly for me in the past. Hoping to lose a stone before we go and weighed in at 133lb this morning. Really need to up my water intake tomorrow, today was nowhere near enough

Bonkersblond · 13/07/2020 21:37

Can confirm I have 9lbs to lose, currently weigh 10st 2lbs, had a good day today, MFP shows 1190, feeling quite positive for the week ahead.

Milly90 · 13/07/2020 21:53

@Flynn999 i usef to have them all the time will tfy and get out and get some...anyone ever had them with oat or almond milk?

73kittycat73 · 13/07/2020 22:14

Did someone mention cake? I knew I was drawn to here for a reason...Wink Grin
Mind if I join in? I lost 2.5ibs earlier this year. Came off the diet and went a bit mad...Knew I had put weight on but didn't realise how much until I put on a non-elasticated (That I had been living in. Grin ) pair of trousers and the waist is very snug! I need to lose at least 7lbs. I'll weigh myself tomorrow, though I did start yesterday.
@Milly90 I have a high protien yogurt with 3g of flax seed, comes to about 116cals, and keeps me full till dinner. Hang on, I'll just get the name for you...Lindahls Kvarg Vanilla 150g. They do about 3-4 different flavours. I get them in Sainsburys and Asda.

73kittycat73 · 13/07/2020 22:14

2.5 stone, not pounds! lol Grin

Sonmi451 · 13/07/2020 22:41

Ah yes, Kvarg, I like the vanilla one, not tried the others yet.

73kittycat73 · 13/07/2020 22:45

The white chocolate one is nice, but my favourite is the vanilla.

Milly90 · 14/07/2020 07:44

Oh nice! Ok thanks for the recommendation guys. Mo snacks after tea last night and I was even dreaming that I am hungry!

Sonmi451 · 14/07/2020 08:15

My shop doesn't have a white chocolate one! OMG so unfair!

Horseshoe5 · 14/07/2020 08:35

I started yesterday. I weighed 11 stone 2 so would love to get to 10 4 or 10 5. Using mfp- 1200 calories per day. All my clothes are right but l am going to give it my best shot.

LadyMuck111 · 14/07/2020 08:45

Can I join?
Started a mega diet yesterday.
Weighing in at 10'13. I want to lose a stone if possible. I've piled on weight and blame peri menopause. I've always been a 6-8 (and probably underweight) but now I'm a 10-12 and most of my weight gain is around my middle. I hate how I look.

Yesterday I managed to drink 2ltrs water and I had
Scrambled eggs and black beans for breakfast. I was busy and missed lunch but had a banana and a handful of cherry toms. Dinner was chicken breast marinated in lemon and garlic, Mediterranean veg and rice. I snacked on frozen fruit afterwards and had a bit of cheese later in the evening. According to MFP I was at around 1100 kcals and I can have 1400 daily.

stoptheride · 14/07/2020 10:30

Weighed in at 10.10!!! What the heck.. I'm floored by this. In Feb I was 9.4 😳 god help me!!

LadyMuck111 · 14/07/2020 10:55
