I'm starting a new thread here as nobody has been posting on our old one(s) for a couple of days. Just wondering how everyone is doing (and if there are any new MNers out there who are also SW members--welcome!)
I've been a member since 15 June and am now just one teensy weensy pound away from my very first stone award. But at times it has been an uphill struggle so it's been great to share my journey with everyone here. Would love to hear from everyone else.

There was a singer in the pub acting the part of Tom Jones with a curly wig and singing Delilah and such...my dh went to the loo and took off his underpants and stuffed them in his pocket. Then he came back to the front and threw his boxer shorts at the singer. Everyone in the pub was ROFL

cool - sounds fun. Good job dm wasn't there - she is madly in love with Tom Jones, what with herbeing a welsh woman and all that - not me though I am a Bournemouth born girl through and through!

Arabica · 20/12/2004 11:18

I was born in Bournemouth! Haven't been for ages though, I hear it's well trendy now.

TBH I don't tend to go into Bournemouth town centre very much now if I can help it. Think I'm getting a bit old for it all now. I really can't be bothered with all the pushing and shoving, queuing to get in to bars and expensive drinks. Just tend to go to restaurants now or the local pub where I can have a conversation with someone and actually get a drink at the bar with ease. Boring old fart aren't I?

SPARKLER1clausiscomingtotown · 20/12/2004 21:53

Weighed in tonight. Stayed the same. I can't believe it. I am so lucky. Have eaten loads and loads of bad stuff this week including big bars of chocolate, lots of wine and a kebab last night.
We had a mini christmas party tonight. We all had to take some low syn party food with us. I made the Slimming World Fererro Rocher's. They are really really yummy and not far off from the real thing. Have you seen them on the SW website? 2 syns each whereas a real one is 3 1/2. yum yum yum. Thing is though I have eaten about 10 of them already - they are too moreish

TheHollyAndTheTwiglett · 20/12/2004 22:52

I needed to buy a new pair of jeans today .. size 14

SPARKLER1clausiscomingtotown · 20/12/2004 22:53

Yeh!! Fantastic. Hey if we all keep going we'll be able to lend each other our stuff!!!!!

Arabica · 20/12/2004 23:07

I've just realised I can't go to my weigh-in tomorrow night as it's DH's birthday and we have to leave for celebrations before class starts. There's no meetings for the next 2 weeks so I won't be weighed again until 4 Jan--eek!

lost another pound and a half

Arabica · 22/12/2004 22:42

Well done H&T! I've found it v difficult to get back on course today, knowing I won't get a weigh-in for 2 weeks, and knowing how many more kids' parties there are to get through. At least I don't like Xmas pud (or mince pies)

SPARKLER1clausiscomingtotown · 27/12/2004 22:36

Two and a half pounds on tonight - not to bad for xmas??????????? maybe??????

SPARKLER1clausiscomingtotown · 27/12/2004 23:06

Consultant told us about the new food optimising plan tonight. After just getting into the swing of green and red days they have added in some new stuff. Mix2Max and Success Express. Have been given a new booklet about it all. Sounds a bit confusing but am sure after a few weeks of it it will be okay. Won't say too much about it - don't want to spoil the surprise for you before you go to your weigh ins!!!!! (I don't mind telling you really except I don't really know properly what it's all about myself!!)

TBH - didn't have the best christmas - lots of things happening in the family - (on another thread) so felt quite sad and exhausted most of the time. We too have all the wrong food stuff sitting around the house and I can't bring myself to waste it. TBH - although a little annoyed with myself- my mind is still switched to starting again on Jan 1st. Have nothing to aim for to motivate me to lose weight at the moment. Summer is gonna be the one. I want to try and lose a couple of stone by then!

Twiglett · 30/12/2004 09:46

pound and a half on on their scales last night

but a pound off on mine this morning

there's a difference of 5.5 pounds in the scales too .. mine weigh lighter (but they're the ones I've always gone by so reckon I should take more notice of them ) .. if I do I'm 2 lbs off pre-last pregnancy weight (but still 2 stone off target)

I find that a day of eating quorn mince makes me really smelly / farty and weighing more .. I should stop but it seems to be one of my mainstays

picked up the new diet plans .. not sure what that's about .. will have to read properly .. doesn't seem right though so may just stick to green and red till I'm bored

good luck all

Twiglett · 30/12/2004 09:47

I think you should pack up all the crappy food that no-one will eat and put it in the bin .. go on .. be strong
