Anyone need to lose a stone or less and needs motivation?

Flippetydip · 18/05/2020 12:15

Not that I can provide the motivation but hey ho, I thought perhaps if there were more of us it might help!

I'm currently 10 stone 12 and 5 foot 7. My fighting weight is 10 stone and I would like to get back down to this.

Lockdown has seen me put on at least half a stone. A bad back has seen me stop running and lack of school runs means a distinct deduction in time on my feet.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Day 2 of fast800 and I’ve lost 1.5lbs - I know it’s probably water but I’m taking it as a win! I am trying to stick to a fast of 14:10 or 16:8 if I can, dinner was at 8pm last night so am around 14 hours now but not starving so am going to wait as long as poss before having breakfast.
Only 12.5llbs to go!

Drybird2020 · 29/06/2020 12:44

I've had an indulgent weekend of cake-eating. AF has arrived which explains the lack of control around the sweet stuff. I won't be weighing until later in the week!

overweightcat · 29/06/2020 13:14

We're at a very even keel @Plancina !

Im about 18lbs down form my starting weight and have another 12lbs to go. (Had to convert as I'm working in kgs)
Hope to hit it by August and my aim is to fit into some shorts that I bought a couple of years ago that I love so much and it was the last pair - I must've been clearly in denial about my weight as they never did fit Blush
I found them at the back of the wardrobe a few weeks ago and I have now gone from there being a 3inch gap between the button and hole so nowhere close to buttoning them up to being able to button and zip them up if I really suck in Grin so I'm hoping the extra lbs will enable me to wear them comfortably.

How's everyone today?
I'm on my second and last coffee of the day. Didn't have breakfast but had lunch and hoping to have nothing until dinner now, it'll be salmon, homemade air fryer chips and broccoli or wilted spinach.
Over 700cals left for today so might even end up with some dark chocolate at the end crosses fingers

Lurkingforawhile · 29/06/2020 13:37

I'm not doing well at all today! Mainly BBQ leftovers (veggie), and sweet food. I've been out for a short walk which helped and I'll aim for a healthy dinner of fish cake, poached eggs and salad

BorsetshireBlueBalls · 29/06/2020 14:54

Hello everyone. 18lbs is a lot of weight loss @overweightcat, congratulations. Get ready to rock those shorts! Just heard this morning that the house we hoped to get in September is available so, after getting on for two years here with barely a break (two nights in East Sussex), we will be going away. Dartmoor is hardly the French Riviera, I know, but it has given me a boost and another reason to stay out of the biscuit tin.
In the meantime...I walked 5k yesterday and did a nice workout and stretch; workout this morning followed by a big old catch up on admin and chores. I lack inspiration for dinner options tonight, and trying not to just cook the bacon, garlic and pasta that I have into a carb heavy meal. Don't think I can look at another chicken breast, frittata or anything with rice or lentils. Will have to mooch around the supermarket and see what I can come up with. Any ideas?

Plancina · 29/06/2020 15:54

We are having coconut baked salmon with roasted romanesco and cavolo Nero

BorsetshireBlueBalls · 29/06/2020 18:23

Went for salmon in the end as well. Will have it crusted with mustard and coriander seeds and some broccoli.

carrottopper · 29/06/2020 22:37

I really need to get back on it. I think it's a week tomorrow since I started on the downward slope of snacking and over indulging. Feel yuk tonight. Hoping my will power comes back. Think I've been feeling fed up because we more than likely won't be going abroad (still not deferred our holiday yet) and also because I was doing lots of exercise and not seeing much difference on the scales (although I know I was super fit and fat can turn to muscle etc). I'm feeling exhausted at the minute and going to leave the exercise and focus on eating healthier tomorrow

PowerslidePanda · 29/06/2020 22:55

I'm with you there, @carrottopper Sad I've not gone completely crazy - I've still managed a bit of a deficit, but even so - my weight has stayed steady for 9 days, when ordinarily I'd have lost nearly 2lb in that time.

carrottopper · 29/06/2020 23:08

@PowerslidePanda sending good thoughts to you for tomorrow. I'm feeling so wobbly eg why should I bother if it's not going to make much difference and I'll still have a mum tum and rubbing thighs etc. The little bit of weight I did lose, I felt it went off my boobs, bum and back. Nothing off my thoughts, tummy and face.

PowerslidePanda · 30/06/2020 08:11

@carrottopper - Thank you - yesterday was a bit better, fingers crossed for a good day today. Sorry that you're feeling so dejected about it Flowers In my experience, weight comes off of different body parts at different times - so just because you've not seen a change to your thighs and tummy yet, doesn't mean it's not going to happen! But also, have you actually taken your measurements? It might be that they are getting smaller - just at a slower rate than the parts you've noticed?

Plancina · 30/06/2020 09:00

I have lost a full kilo, so pleased - 66.0 kg this morning. This F800 thing works! I haven’t felt too hungry either as the food is quite high in fibre and protein. Definitely feeling motivated to continue it.
Will try to hold off eating until 12 when I’ll break my fast with two poached eggs and some spinach.

The meal plan I was given today had a huge breakfast and a tiny lunch and dinner but my danger time is 3-7pm so I’ve moved it around a bit to have just eggs for breakfast and then have all the rest of the food from the plan for an early dinner.

Lurkingforawhile · 30/06/2020 09:32

Two days off plan (although I don't feel like I completely let go) and a pound and half back on Shock hoping it's just temporary and am back on it today. I was wondering how much fruit and veg most of you get a day? I think on a good day I probably only get three portions

clevername · 30/06/2020 10:03

I'm with you too, @carrottopper... I'm feeling frustrated today because the scales don't seem to be shifting in the right direction at all. I know in my heart of hearts that I have been a bit indulgent over the last few days but this stagnation has been going on for a couple of weeks. I feel like I'm starving myself most days but it's not having any effect. Maybe I need to start restricting to 1000 calories a day, plus two fast days?!

Feeling huffy Angry

clevername · 30/06/2020 10:08

@overweightcat - do you like your air fryer? Are things like chips lots less calories? I really do like chips! Grin

Well done @Plancina on your loss!

overweightcat · 30/06/2020 10:42

I do love the air fryer @clevername but not sure how accurately I can count the calories! Yesterday I had 63g of chips and according to MFP that's 54cals (I round it up to maybe 100 sometimes as I'm not sure MFP accounts for 1 - 2 tbsps of olive oil I add to a batch for 4 people) .

But they're definitely 100x better than deep frying. We used to have store bought chips from the oven but they have additives which I didn't want. Homemade chips would only taste nice if deep fried and were never nice from the oven. The air fryer was a really good solution for us and takes away the guilt of having chips because they're literally chopped up air fried potatoes with a little bit of olive oil.

overweightcat · 30/06/2020 10:45

But then again when I've not rounded it up the weight is still coming off so maybe MFP is right!

How is everyone today?
Managed a longish workout this morning before DC woke up. Was going to hold off with breakfast but was starving so had 1 small sausage and some baked beans and I'm better now.

Chicken and wholewheat pasta or rice for dinner with broccoli I think.
Not sure what's for lunch yet.

This morning scales staying consistent. Trying to convince myself to stay off them until Sunday.

PowerslidePanda · 01/07/2020 08:06

It's taken me twice as long as usual but I've finally shifted another pound, and it's a milestone one! Having started the year 3lb away from obesity, as of today, I'm officially a healthy weight again!

6lb to go to my target weight!

Lurkingforawhile · 01/07/2020 09:35

@PowerslidePanda that's an amazing achievement! Huge well done

overweightcat · 01/07/2020 12:23

Well done @PowerslidePanda ! That's amazing!

Yesterday was a fail. Had a huge lunch so wasn't hungry for dinner at all but had some crisps and a Galaxy Ripple which did keep me under my cals but they're not exactly the nutritious kind of calories I'm aiming for Blush
Gone off coffee for some reason too and keep leaving it.

The weight seems to be slowly creeping down this morning the scales were 65.3kg down from 65.5kg on Sunday. It would be fab if I hit it this week as I remember telling myself when I started that 65kg is my first target and I would be so happy if I got there - granted now looking at it realistically I do want to get down to the lower end of 60 but I need to remind myself how far I have come since I started.

Plancina · 02/07/2020 07:49

@PowerslidePanda that’s amazing, well done! Star

PowerslidePanda · 02/07/2020 08:04

Thanks all! Need to stay strong - every time I make good progress, the little devil on my shoulder says, "You've done well, so it's not that bad if you ease up now..."

@overweightcat - Good luck for your 65kg target this week - you can do it!

overweightcat · 02/07/2020 09:14

Thanks @PowerslidePanda ! I know the little devil very well he's regularly trying to convince me to not log everything I eat because according to him "if it's not logged on MFP you didn't eat it" Grin

Hope everyone is having a lovely (albeit very wet and rainy over here) morning.

GreyGardens88 · 02/07/2020 09:30

I need to lose about a stone of fat and go down a jeans size and then I will be happy

I don't drink during the week but I must get through over 30 units over Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights these days Shock I'm doing well with the dieting so the goal this week is to cut out all alcohol on Fridays and try to just drink Saturdays and a small amount on Sundays, so I should cut my weekly units in half

PhoneLock · 02/07/2020 09:39

The problem with alcohol isn't just the calories, it also reduces your inhibitions when it comes to stuffing your face.

A pint of beer is about the same calories as a slice of buttered toast. Add crisps, peanuts, a bag of chips and kebab to that and you need two weeks to undo the damage.
