Apologies for the terrible title but I wanted to encapsulate the boss and how supportive everyone is.

@MrsJonesAndMe potty training toddlers is enough to drive anyone to chocolate Grin

Brilliant job on the running @SunshineCake and well done on your weight loss @fallfallfall

I have a friend in Leicester too @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 and she's finding it tough, she works in retail too so will be stuck on furlough. Sending you Flowers, I can imagine it's a very hard time for you all.

Well, what a day here... DTS2 bumped his head this morning whilst the boys were play fighting, lots of blood Shock dropped DTS1 at school, went to Minor Injuries, waited a couple of hours for DTS2's head to be glued back together (only a small cut luckily!). Rushed back to school to collect DTS1, took him for his eye check, came back just in time for an (early) delivery of my online food shop. Don't think I had time to stop and breathe till after the hell that is DC's bedtime...

fallfallfall · 01/07/2020 00:04

oh ruby that does sound exhausting. should be a good calorie burn though. stay strong, find some quiet time in the shower :).

MrsJonesAndMe · 01/07/2020 06:05

Oh no @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 that must feel like a big step backwards Sad I agree, just do what gets you through.

Crikey @RubySlippers77 I've had days like that when it's just one thing after another. Hope his head is OK and that today you have a few minutes to just sit down and be. Lack of headspace really is a killer.

Well, day 1 started at about 5:15. So light out - guess the positive is that it looks like a sunny day.

Are you running today @SunshineCake? And you @RubySlippers77?

SunshineCake · 01/07/2020 07:51

Tomorrow is day one of starting 5K to 10K, maybe *@MrsJonesAndMe. I need to have a look at the new app but otherwise I will run every other day and will run for 30 minutes and hope I make 5K each time.

I weighed as it is WOW and was pretty upset to be up 0.8lb since yesterday but then I told myself I still have a period so I am hoping it is because of that??

DD has further maths A level mock today so I will take her to school then walk the dog. I probably won't run but I will try and remember to walk a bit faster in the hope I can get this extra bit off but I am reminding myself I have gone up five times and down six since I started running and that is where the loss comes from .

Looks like no rain for me today so I will be able to peg out and dinner is an easy one so I might get a bit of free time today.

Hope everyone is well and has a good day. Remember to take some time for yourselves even if just twenty minutes while someone else looks after the children or the tv helps out.

@SunshineCake it would well be period! It’s very common for women to retain water which will show on the scales.

I was good food wise yesterday. Gf made a fish pie for dinner as I have a massive aversion to fish (I like if, I just refuse to eat it Hmm) going back from childhood. I was very apprehensive but it was actually lovely.

Doctor signed me off for two more weeks. It’s gf’s last day here and we’re going to go to longleat which will be nice.

SunshineCake · 01/07/2020 08:19

Thank you *@Foreverlexicon. I have never got to grips with the science behind weight loss and gain during a period but I believe you and will try and drink more water today as think I might have been a bit low yesterday. It did mean I slept all night though which was needed.

Hurray for fish pie. I love it and always make it differently depending on what fish and veg I have and whether I can be bothered to make a white sauce.

Enjoy Longleat. I am so envious as would love to go. We were once driving relatively near on the way home from holiday but dh said no to us going as we had a long drive home already and the kids were still fairly small. At least two were still at primary school anyway. Wave to the elephants, giraffes and lions for me, if there are any!

MrsJonesAndMe · 01/07/2020 12:52

Hope you had a great day out @Foreverlexicon. DS loves watching the Animal park programs that are made there.

Ah, tomorrow for jogging then @SunshineCake I've been firmly planted on my bum for the last half hour, just reading on here. Sorry to hear you've gained again.

As for me, I weighed at 71.5kg so about 9lbs to loose Hmm FFS!

Had berries, pecans, plain yogurt and home made granola. Then a coconut macaroon for snack and lunch was jacket with ham and cheese, some cucumber and coleslaw. This afternoon I will have some pop corn and then tea is steak, onion, mushroom, peppers and sweet potato wedges. I can do this!

Check in later x

SunshineCake · 01/07/2020 14:09

Just sitting down for the first time today and having my first meal. I forgot I had gone up! It's fine. I feel better and stronger emotionally and that is half the battle.

I've walked the dog, done loads in the garden, legged out two wash loads and then after my meal I will sit with the dog for a bit and then prepare dinner.

Happy afternoon everyone.

I saw a baby giraffe run, it was great Grin
I went a couple of hundred over my allowance mainly due to gf getting nice food and me having a bite here and there. She goes home today and I’m pretty proud of how I’ve done food wise whilst she’s been here.

I’ve not done any exercise apart from ride but that’s largely been a time thing as want to make the most of the time we have and we were already pretty busy with the decorating and stuff. I’m okay with that. Might not of been totally on track but I won’t be playing catch up to lose a gain so I’m happy with that.

Plan to do a Jillian Michaels dvd later and I have a riding lesson this evening.

MrsJonesAndMe · 02/07/2020 09:21

Gosh, I couldn't wait to eat till that late @SunshineCake especially with all the walking. Hope your next run goes well today.

Sounds like a lovely day and a good balance @foreverlexicon Sending you a (((hug))) for later. goodbyes are always hard.

Hope you're coping @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 and no further injuries or tears your side @RubySlippers77. How are things over the water @fallfallfall?

Well I did OK yesterday. A multi pack Twix did fall into my mouth, but otherwise I stuck to the plan.

Today:
Just had plain yogurt, berries, nuts and granola
S: dark choc, macadamia and coconut bar
L: jacket, ham, cheese, mayo and salad
S: macaroon, pineapple
T: nandos chicken and rice (home made cheat style)

I hurt after doing a HIIT and pretty fiery yoga (all done in half an hour, but boy they were intense) so will to a gentle yoga video tonight.

SunshineCake · 02/07/2020 14:02

Hurray for baby 🦒. I miss the zoo Sad. I had an urge to go when I was pregnant with DC1 and we used to go a fair bit but now only my youngest would go with me.

I hope the good bye isn't too horrible *@Foreverlexicon and I know you won't fall into a tub of ice cream to cheer you up. When dh and I were fairly long distance it helped if we had a rough plan of when we could see each other again and we would talk on the phone every night.

It was pretty late, *@MrsJonesAndMe, and I had been hungry at 11.45 but I was busy and the time just ran away with me and I was past being hungry. No loss this morning though which was disappointing especially as I took 3 minutes off my time for 5K and then as I felt like keeping going I ran nearly 6k in 33 minutes.

I have had crackers and hummus for lunch and one square of chocolate and then dinner is duck, breasts and legs, with wedges and wraps but I will have salad with mine. I have bought three tubs of strawberries and a tub of raspberries as enjoying a few in the evening. I was hoping to garden but it is raining to I am sat on the bed watching vintage Wimbledon. It is a bit of a squeeze with a giant teddy, a giant soft toy dog and a real dog Grin.

All’s well over here, July 1 weigh in 155 on the dot. I like round numbers. It was a very wet Canada Day, but I did my bike ride in the rain anyway plus over an hour of the fitness walking videos I’m enjoying.
The guest bedroom/bath has been tidied up only a toddler bed to tuck away.
And I’ve been making cards.
Supper was special Canadian fare so no scale this morning. An amazing 6 oz if not 8 thick tenderloin steak done on the bbq. Baked spud and salad.

MrsJonesAndMe · 02/07/2020 20:32

Hi to you both. Today didn't go as planned, but in fact better (I think)

B: yog, granola and berries
L: jacket as planned with cucumber slices on the side
Coconut macaroon
T: chicken and rice Nandos style.

7 different fruit and veg and no real snacking. Did 2 little walks - park and shop but both at a quick pace and with uphill for half of it. Half hour of yoga.

Great stuff @fallfallfall and I really like the card with the turtle
Well if you're not hungry, you're not hungry @SunshineCake probably best not to get on the scales daily! We got drenched on the way home from the park Hmm

RubySlippers77 · 02/07/2020 23:05

We got a real drenching yesterday but dodged the showers today Grin

Thankfully no more injuries, DS2 seems ok and is back at school - they only have two weeks left till the end of term Sad and what a strange school year it's been. The school can't tell us yet about any firm arrangements for next term - whether the breakfast and after school clubs will run, whether the DC will be full time every day, etc - which is fair enough given the general uncertainty, but doesn't help me make any plans! DP's working hours have been regular for the past few months but he's changing sites soon too, just to add to the mix.

In better news I've been tracking everything I've eaten for the past couple of days using my old WW stuff, it's been a useful reminder of eating more fruit & veg etc and not snacking on Nutella sandwiches so hopefully that will help shift a few pounds.

Which yoga video do you do @MrsJonesAndMe? I've never got into it but would like to try, I've heard it's quite addictive!

Productive time for you @fallfallfall, well done on the bike ride and walking Smile

I think you've done brilliantly to stick to your plan @Foreverlexicon, it sounds like you had a wonderful time with your gf and kept busy at home too.

Your running is going amazingly @SunshineCake! I was planning to run again tomorrow but AF has arrived and is incredibly heavy Sad I'm struggling to leave the house at all. Enjoy your strawberries and raspberries! I like them too but DS2 scoffs the lot as soon as we get any...

MrsJonesAndMe · 03/07/2020 07:13

Morning @RubySlippers77 I do Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube. She has lots of beginners stuff (and lots of stuff that is very hard).

Meant to be dry and it's Friday, so going to the park this morning.

B: that squashed musli bar in my bag + hot choc from Costa
L: GF crackers, ham, cheese, hummus, carrot and cucumber sticks
S: cut the damn pineapple woman!!! Blush
D chilli and rice

It's very disconcerting not knowing about schools. DD is starting a new one and apart from a look round last year October time, that'll be it till she starts Shock and DS is just moving a year so in theory OK, but his teachers are both leaving (job share) so new faces. Hoping he's assigned one of the ones that was there before who he at least knows the face of and their HT is going for maternity leave 3 in 3 years Confused Way to run a school - never there!

Check in with you all later. Thinking of you @Foreverlexicon

Galvantula · 03/07/2020 08:02

Hi all, sorry for being MIA again.

I've come back a little less grumpy. I've turned it around and lost one of the 3 kg I'd put on.

I totally need to catch up with what you've all been up to.

I've been away being a bit obsessed with the do I/do I not have ADHD question I mentioned a while back. Turns out I do. Shock

The wait for NHS assessment was feeling unbearable, so i booked a private one.

Still feels weird. I am going to try some medication though, everything I've researched strongly recommends trying it.

Catch up later!

MrsJonesAndMe · 03/07/2020 15:17

Well done @Galvantula I'm hoping I can do the same. Oh, interesting. What were the signs for you? nosy, feel free to ignore

Well, so far, I've eaten:
bar & medium hot choc
3 GF crackers, ham, cheese, cucumber and hummus
pineapple slices, pop corn and macaroon Blush struggling with the 3PM slump with not having Coke any more!
Tea: chilli and rice

Tonight, I will do a HIIT and then quick yoga stretch.

Take care all x

Galvantula · 03/07/2020 16:52

Well I didn't know they were signs, but here's what I had trouble with since I was at school really...

Talking, a lot, fast, have trouble stopping and can tend to blurt out/interrupt.also oversharing.

Distraction, aka daydreaming in school reports. Can't concentrate without hearing all the noises around, dc all chatting at me is maddening.

A bit emotional/ sensitive. React quickly without thinking sometimes.

Procrastinating. Hard to start doing stuff, hard to complete the job.

Get obsessed with something new and exciting till I'm bored with it. Blush also impulse buying. BlushBlush All the books for me.

Forget stuff. All the time. Poor working memory essentially.

Hard to concentrate on someone talking to me. Tend to drift off in thought, look at phone, at someone passing etc. This one drives DH nuts.

Possibly more but that's the first things that came to mind. :) I had no clue until I googled for resources for DS1 struggling at school with focus. Everything came up about ADHD. I was Shock when I read it.

Tonight I will drink beer. 😂🍻

MrsJonesAndMe · 03/07/2020 20:58

Interesting. DD's memory is shocking and she's already identified as mild dyslexia. hmmmm

Enjoy the beer. I've finished eating at 5, brushed my teeth and now listening to a bunch of neighbours having a party - not even the rain has deterred them! Angry My kids haven't set foot inside school in months and the shielders ( multiple 70+ ers and at least one cancer survivor) are sat rubbing shoulders, handing round glasses and even having a sing along Shock

MrsJonesAndMe · 04/07/2020 16:16

hi all, hope you're all ok.

Just talking to myself really to keep track. I'm 1kg down but AF has shown up, so this may be short lived.

Food today:
Hot choc and GF brownie
Small portion of chilli and rice
Apple juice, few bits of cooked chicken and slices of pineapple
Tea: salmon, oven chips, peas and corn

Hurt after last night's HIIT and carrying two bags of shopping from shop to car (about a 10 minute walk), so tonight will be a gentler yoga session for half hour or so.

Galvantula · 04/07/2020 18:20

Oo you're inspiring me to try and fit in some exercise. I'm usually defeated by the effort of tidying enough room to do it in here 🙈

We've been busy trying to tidy the kids rooms/ house in general today so not made it out for a walk like I planned.

I ate a slightly calorific amount of treats last night, so I'm going to try and rein it in a bit tonight.

I'm going to try and get back to hitting my calorie goal (as near as possible) during the week and still having the wine and treats at the weekend. This was my old default mode.

Extra treats during the week have crept in, so I'll get rid of those first and then work on building lower calorie lunches back in.

Definitely feeling a bit more positive after starting to reverse the pattern of gain. Just need to keep it up, then maintain at the lower weight instead of wasting the effort again! It will probably take me months to get the last kg back off again, I know it annoyingly only takes a few weeks of excess to get it back on.

Onward and upward!

MrsJonesAndMe · 04/07/2020 21:39

Much easier to go on then come off! I don't calorie count as I think it's too much faff, but I find eating in a window works. I'm hungry now, but the window is long shut and teeth brushed!

I just do yoga on the bit between the telly and the sofa - don't need much space.

fallfallfall · 04/07/2020 22:52

i do a fitness walk video, streamed via youtube onto the tele. leslie sansone "walk" a 45 minute video has me sweating and it's takes up very little room. i've found time for my 30 minute bike ride each day as well.
i'm hoping for a good month. so far so good.
mrsjones if you can salvage a day that started with hot chocolate and brownies you deserve a medal!

Galvantula · 04/07/2020 23:21

I'll check that out, thanks @fallfallfall.

I get quite into the My Fitness Pal graphs Grin I struggle to stick to it all the time though. I can always tell when I subconsciously know I've been really eating too much crap, as I stop weighing regularly and then stop logging. Blush

fallfallfall · 05/07/2020 03:24

alright with jamie oliver's spicy beef and cauli rice recipe showing up on my fb page and an abundance of beef, coconut milk (from years ago), loads of spices and mint growing like crazy, i thought it a natural fit.
onto mixing up my own rendang powder...okay it's done along with possibly 50 squats refilling the spice jars. when going through my Indian stash, i found so many little (mostly unlabeled) baggies of powder...
just about ready for my son and his gf :), toddler bed tucked away out of sight. i wouldn't be surprised if she was still in her 20's judging by the t-shirt drama.
