Apologies for the terrible title but I wanted to encapsulate the boss and how supportive everyone is.

Glad your DS enjoyed his birthday @MrsJonesAndMe!

Hope the DIY went well @Foreverlexicon? Our kitchen was put in 5 years ago but never properly finished, as DP said his mate would do a better job than any professional kitchen fitter Angry guess what, we are still waiting for the worktop tiling to be done... I could have learned to do it myself many times over by now!

No exciting news here, I've had a tummy bug the past couple of days. I did ring the NHS coronavirus test helpline to ask about a test @SunshineCake but they said you have to have it within 5 days of developing symptoms. I was first ill back in March (as MrsJones thought!) and as my sense of taste still hasn't come back, the test wouldn't be accurate Sad if it had come back and gone away again, that would count as a new symptom and I could have the test, but not at the moment.

An old friend from WW many years ago has been in touch to say she's thinking of becoming a Coach!! If she does I will probably join her group to support her!

RubySlippers77 · 27/06/2020 23:39

PS massive congratulations on your 5K run @SunshineCake!! 👏

fallfallfall · 28/06/2020 04:46

i need to read up. but believe me all is well and on track over here. not sure what the scales will read in 60 hours but i have put in a good months effort. decent food choices (which does include desert in the evenings) and loads of activity by day. and cards...lots of fun with those.
i'll try to read up and post tomorrow :)

SunshineCake · 28/06/2020 13:17

FGS I was looking forward to my run. Auto correct grrr.

Great to hear all well, *@fallfallfall.

*@RubySlippers77 DH does a lot around the house as I don't like men in the house I don't know and he is pretty good. He's painted the utility room today and has just gone for more paint as not quite enough, always the way! Then we will eat.

I ran today. 5.1km. One more to do as part of the plan then I will have a look at the 5K to 10K that dh has told me about.

Didn't weigh today. Looks like I have got a bit of a period so would appreciate any tips for what it will do to my weight etc as I haven't had one for so long I can't remember.

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 28/06/2020 16:31

Just a quick check in. Glad you're all OK...bar the period @SunshineCake what a pain. Well done on getting past the 5K. I'm sure there's no stopping you now.

waves @fallfallfall

Oh I'd be fuming at that @RubySlippers77 5 years????

We've been for a walk inbetween rain showers, got a few days worth of food, ironing, hoovering and steam mopping. DH making tea while I sit down a bit.

fallfallfall · 28/06/2020 20:01

So lots of little things happening over there, it all sounds positive (except for sunshine’s TOM), it will be over eventually.
My U.K. son in law is into covid antibody testing, although directed at an industry level not individual.

fallfallfall · 28/06/2020 20:05

DYI, dh started a fireplace reno that’s still not finished...because he’s not 100% happy with it. Part of me doesn’t care BUT with youngest ds, bringing his gf (must be significant) to introduce her to us I might need to dress it up.

SunshineCake · 28/06/2020 22:27

I did post but it hasn't shown up.

Forgot what I said now.

Don't worry about the fireplace for the GF, *@fallfallfall.

RubySlippers77 · 28/06/2020 22:57

Glad everything is on track @fallfallfall!

Yep, five loooong years, @MrsJonesAndMe. To be fair for a while I didn't want him back in the house again when I had tiny babies, but then when they got older and/ or we were away on holiday, I suggested he could come back and finish off... nope. I've even suggested that we get some of those sticky tiles and do it ourselves - DP says no no no, his mate will definitely be back at some point! I'm not holding my breath Confused

Same for us with the weather by the way, sunshiney spells mixed with very heavy showers. Went for a walk in the woods this morning and one along the canal path later so the DC could go duck spotting Smile

I did another run this morning @SunshineCake but it was a week 3 one, I had DS1 with me and he'd never have done 5 minutes of running! But, we did get it all done and my knee has been ok, which was a relief. Really impressed with your 10K plans!! About the period, mine tend to be very heavy now - I have a day or two when I can't go out due to flooding Sad - if yours are similar then I'd say you may end up tired and possibly reaching for chocolate by a few days in! I take some iron tablets which do help.

SunshineCake · 29/06/2020 07:18

Why does he get to dictate, *@RubySlippers77. The job needs doing, I assume he can't come to the house now but a tradesman maybe could and you all go into another room.

I can't envisage running 10k but will do the last plan run tomorrow and then see how I am doing.

Thankfully it appears light at the moment plus I am down just over a pound so I will have to watch myself. My treat bag is running low anyway which will help and I won't be going shopping until tomorrow at the earliest and hopefully later but I do need a prescription picking up so we will see. Thanks for the tip about getting tired.

OP posts:
Foreverlexicon · 29/06/2020 08:12

Well done on the running!

I was hoping to wake up early today (keep waking up mega early) to run before gf wakes up but no such luck. Not complaining though as I have not been sleeping enough the last couple of days. It’s also super windy and I hate running in wind so will try again tomorrow.

DIY went surprisingly well! We still need to grout the kitchen and do a few bits which is the plan for today plus go jump the horse.

I’m really pleased with how I ate over the weekend. I think I probably went SLIGHTLY over but not much. This is the kind of occasion I would usually say fuck it and would’ve had loads of ciders at 300 cal a bottle and a big pudding and some other bits so I’m pleased with myself.

Weigh day tomorrow so fingers crossed!

fallfallfall · 29/06/2020 13:53

Well done Forever! Positive vibes coming your way Ruby so the kitchen gets finished soon. DH has agreed to get help with one task (dog grooming) and one home improvement :)! I much much prefer it when he contracts out rather than tackles big jobs himself.

SunshineCake · 29/06/2020 14:04

The kitchen and utility is all painted and we just need to sand down and paint the garage door inside and the door frames. Then on to the next job..

I am slightly down so happy with that. Walked my dog for almost two hours and I may go out this afternoon with her but she's currently asleep on my bed as I potter in my bedroom and watch an old Wimbledon match. Blinking typical I make it through the ticket ballot and then it is all cancelled Sad.

Does anyone have a stubborn 16 year old girl or experience of one as I am upset today and she is not willing to compromise but I feel she is cutting her nose odd to spite her face and dh will not give in to her. I see both sides. She is more wrong than him, both have a point.

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 29/06/2020 21:24

No advice @SunshineCake DD seems to have the hump today so hoping tomorrow is better all round.

I did a HIIT workout and now I hurt Blush Food order all done and being delivered tomorrow evening so I'm ready for my kick start on Wednesday.

I hope you and GF are having a good time @Foreverlexicon and glad you got some sleep even if that meant missing a run. What have you decided about work?

When is the GF and DS coming over @fallfallfall the thought of the dog being groomed for the event made me smile!

fallfallfall · 29/06/2020 21:36

poor rusty is a lovely airedale who my dh always dreamed of self grooming BUT it's been 7 years of him claiming to know how to strip him and the poor dog is a huge mess at this point. and our temps are rising. i've suggested the grooming at appropriate (think carefully chosen times) and was always met with "clipping an airedale will ruin his coat" and "it will ruin his skin and cause problems with the oil glands". now honestly the man is very smart and knows that hair grows from the base and NOT the ends sooooo how he can believe bullshit that cutting hair will lead to problems with the oil is beyond me (but of course some books/breeders spout that shit as well).
so this time when i suggested it he agreed!! a bit surprised AND he agreed to some landscaping professional help....small miracles.

MrsJonesAndMe · 30/06/2020 07:18

Long may it continue @fallfallfall

Have a good day everyone. Looking a bit grey here!

Foreverlexicon · 30/06/2020 08:15

Weigh day today and I’m down 1.4lb which I’m very pleased with especially considering I had the very sociable weekend and 2 bbqs.

I’m just about to arrange a doctors appointment. I got ridiculously anxious over the weekend to the degree that I had to ask my gf to drive my car to b&q because I couldn’t face it. I’ve never ever been like this. I need a review anyway so I will see what they say.

Hope everyone is doing well

SunshineCake · 30/06/2020 12:55

Hurray for dogs getting the grooming they need but I can pet help wondering why you let him promise and not deliver, *@fallfallfall.

Well done on the scales win *@Foreverlexicon! Good luck at the GP. Anxiety is a new thing for me after a second traumatic event in six months. I hope you get all the support you want.

Well, I only went and did it. I completed week nine, 27 runs, and I ran 5.38 km in thirty minutes this morning. My weight has been up 5 times and down six times since May 22nd (I started running on May 9th and from then I have lost three pounds. I'm happy. More happy I did the run tbh than the weight loss. I have downloaded a 5K to 10k app so we'll see what happens on Thursday.

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 30/06/2020 15:19

Anxiety isn't something new for me. Shame for both of you suffering too.

Well done @SunshineCake on completing C25K and @Foreverlexicon on your loss. Hope the GP can help.

I feel very stressed today - something about 2 toddlers potty training while home schooling and trying to do some chores. Not sure how I'm going to get with clean eating from tomorrow Hmm

So my list to aim for is:

  • no coke
  • no (or as low as humanly possible) gluten
  • do my yoga/HIIT
  • take my vitamins
  • lots of water
  • 16:8
  • dry body brushing
SunshineCake · 30/06/2020 16:43

Maybe make a job list and rope in everyone *@MrsJonesAndMe? Even little ones can do something and your partner needs to be doing stuff too once he has finished work.

OP posts:
fallfallfall · 30/06/2020 16:53

You can do it mrsjones, even if it means taking your multivits in the shower 😉.
Sunshine, dh was doing a reasonable attempt up until this year when the beekeeping and his courses picked up. Believe me the dogs lead a very pampered life.
155.3, down 2+ lbs this month. I need to keep this up.

SunshineCake · 30/06/2020 18:18

I was worried I seemed a bit harsh, *@fallfallfall and I apologise if I have annoyed you and it is lovely to hear your pooches are pampered.

Well done on your weight loss.

I think it looks like we are all doing well in different ways.

Still miss you though @TheRealHousewife @BustedDreams

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 30/06/2020 21:05

Well I've closed my eating window on my normal time of 5PM, the food order arrived with all my healthy stuff and everyone did pull their weight so it all got done.

Will let you know how I get on to keep me on the straight and narrow.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 30/06/2020 21:52

Hi all, sorry for the long absence. I've absolutely given up on dieting, lockdown has been a snack fest and as I'm in Leicester and our lockdown has gone back a step while everyone else gets to start enjoying stuff a bit more, I don't see any likelihood of my snacking reducing anytime soon.

Hope you're all well, I'll be reading back and catching up.

SunshineCake · 30/06/2020 22:21

Whatever gets you through *@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50. Take care.
