Apologies for the terrible title but I wanted to encapsulate the boss and how supportive everyone is.

Picnic by the river sounds great!

I’ve lost 3lb since my restart last week which I’m pleased with. Overall haven’t lost anything since start of May though which is frustrating. I just need to start being more consistent. But I’ve explained this to my gf and she’s super supportive so when she’s here later in the week, I’ll be sticking to it.

Just having some coffee before I go for a run. Will ride later and do some more decorating.

SunshineCake · 23/06/2020 07:16

I feel like my sense of smell has lessened, *@RubySlippers77 as I can still smell a bit. I think my ability to taste has changed.

*@MrsJonesAndMe haven't seen DS yet and probably won't until I get back from walking my dog. He took calpol last night. My chest is heavy but then I have been upset this morning so could be that. DS1 is doing his chicken dish with wedges tonight and I'll either have salad or make mushroom soup for lunch. I made the stock yesterday from the left over roast chicken.

Well done *@Foreverlexicon on your weight loss. I haven't lost anything since I started Cto5k on May 9th and are 8lb up on my low on March 18th. Sad. Having said that I was two pounds higher later so I have lost five and kept two off.

SunshineCake · 23/06/2020 07:36

I am 0.8 lb down!! Hurray! Hopefully the deadlock has been broken. I got off pretty quick as some times it starts off down then settles up so I was off quick today but I think it is right.

fallfallfall · 23/06/2020 17:39

I braved the scale...as expected up 2 lbs...
But the graph shows water and muscle mass increases which are good.
I’ve been exercising daily and the food choices apart from salt are good.
I love a good scale dance sunshine (up down up down shuffle the scale a bit up down up down, sigh).

SunshineCake · 23/06/2020 18:34

I just ate too much dinner, DS1 made it and it was so nice. I did have salad with it too and won't have anything else today apart from fruit. Tomorrow I have to run again.

DS2 still saying his chest hurts with trouble breathing occasionally. Won't let me ring doctor. Said he filled in the online questionnaire and it said go to hospital as he had shoulder pain but he didn't tell us.
Just heard dh coughing. I coughed earlier. Grrrrrr.

OP posts:
SunshineCake · 23/06/2020 18:35

DH said just a tickle in his throat.

Oh no @SunshineCake guessing you have to give them a bit of autonomy when they're a teen. Well done on your scales!

Well done to you too @Foreverlexicon

Boo hiss @fallfallfall but you were expecting it.

My scales also up, but I cannot moan as I'm really not eating well. Things are still stressful/busy, but not horrendous and we're nearly at the "summer holidays" as much as there'll be one...that should take pressure off.

I'm sloping off to bed soon as it was a disturbed night and early start. Catch up with you all tomorrow x

RubySlippers77 · 24/06/2020 09:34

Well done on your loss @Foreverlexicon! Hope you enjoyed your ride and run - I am far too hot and even walking to school (admittedly uphill with small grumpy children!) was hard work...

And well done on increasing your fitness @fallfallfall, sounds like you are well on the road to recovery Smile

How is everyone in your house feeling today @SunshineCake? The coughing is so worrying at the moment. My sense of taste hasn't gone back to normal yet, I wonder if it will - I used to prefer bitter chocolate but now it's sweet stuff all the way, things like that. The government guidelines on the antibody test seem to say that because it's still a bit pointless knowing if people have antibodies (as we don't know if you can be immune to coronavirus) then it's more useful just to have the test to see if you have the virus now. But if I tested positive then presumably I'd have to self isolate and couldn't take the DC to school, so I'd prefer not to know Shock

@MrsJonesAndMe it's tough to make good choices when things are as up and down as they currently are... your picnic sounded lovely though! I'd like to do more stuff like that with the DC, but food is a big trigger for DS1, he can have an absolute meltdown if things aren't just as he likes them. I might get a tent (sun tent or buy an actual proper one!) and see if they'd like to eat in the shade in the garden at some point Smile

Oh and my knee still isn't great. Better than it was, and annoyingly I have to keep moving or it seizes up, but sometimes gives me a lot of pain... just trying to take it easy for now!

SunshineCake · 24/06/2020 12:44

Hi everyone

Can't get the tv to work so having to suffer Loose Women at the moment while I try and find the news.

Weight back up. Blinking DS' cooking! I hereby state here that I am going 100% cold turkey as it is disheartening when I am running and not getting any weight loss benefit. I ran 28 minutes and saw it was 4.99km so ran a bit more to make the 5km target then realised the total included the five minute warm up walk so my total in the end was 4.5 km. I haven't had evening crisps for two nights so maybe posting it is the will power I need as then you can all tell me off if I fail!

Talking off failing the school attendance officer rang earlier as DC2 did not register. They laughed, the child that is, but I was not impressed. I woke them up as well!

DS2 says he feel fine. Phew!

I know what you mean about not wanting to know but in all seriousness you have a duty to find out if you have symptoms as for some people it isn't a mild illness. I didn't leave my bed for over two weeks and seriously thought I might not make it home.

I am making mushroom soup and at the moment the mushrooms are in the pan with garlic, celery and sherry and they smell amazing. I forgot how long it all takes though and I am getting hungry!

Hello all.
I’ve been struggling emotionally the last few days but got up early today to ride before it got hot and I feel a little better. A bit stressed over what to do as meant to be back at work in 9 days time but based on the last couple of days I’m not really getting much better. I don’t want to go back and go off again so I’m worried about going back but equally, sitting at home doesn’t really help either. Sigh.

Food and exercise has been good though so that’s something I guess.

SunshineCake · 24/06/2020 15:51

*@Foreverlexicon. Exercise is such a great mood lifter so could you have an evening ride? Regarding work I suppose it depends on the consequences for you if you don't go and those for if you do.

OP posts:
Foreverlexicon · 25/06/2020 05:05

There aren’t really any consequences - work have been EXTREMELY supportive (honestly, my team at work is more of a family to me than my own family) and I’m on full pay so there is no rush for me to go back. It would be worse to go back and go off again as I’ve already done that so with a virus I had in February, I’m on my third sick leave of the year. I’m never ever usually sick.

It just seems a double edged sword. Work feels like an awful lot to cope with; I’ll be go back on reduced hours to start but even so when I have a bad day I barely function. However, I get bored and sad sat at home which isn’t really making me better either. I don’t know. My gf is coming to stay tomorrow for about a week and she said we’ll try and come up with a plan but I don’t really know what. I’m going through all the motions but there’s no pleasure there anymore.

In dieting news; I’ve been sticking to it. Did a 40 min Jillian Michaels yest and up early to go for a run then ride before it gets hot. Been sticking to my calories. I’ve told GF I want to stick to my routine with food and exercise when she’s here as it does help give some structure and she’s being massively supportive which is great. I’m so lucky to have her.

SunshineCake · 25/06/2020 05:57

Sounds like a plan but don't be so hard on yourself.

I did okay yesterday as ran 4.5km, walked for an hour, had home made mushroom and celery soup with a sour dough bagel for lunch and salad with roast beef and an egg for dinner then ruined it all by eating a whole bar of rum and coconut dark chocolate plus cheese at 8.45pm. But then I was full so...

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 25/06/2020 21:06

Hi all

Maybe stay off till you feel ready to go back and just have a lovely week with GF then @Foreverlexicon

Well done for doing that in the heat @SunshineCake!

I think @RubySlippers77 thinks she had the virus back in March, but wondering if it's lingering too (unless I've missed something)

I've been hot and stressed with lack of sleep for everyone so eating everything in sight! Just done a menu plan and online food shop for 1/7 so I can get myself back on track for a fortnight or so before we hopefully can go away for a week (self contained and socially distanced as now really)

fallfallfall · 25/06/2020 21:57

Hello everyone, I’m still poking along. Trying to be really focused on the end of the month weigh in!! I made two batches of soup yesterday, tomato and hamburger. Exercising daily and about to get in my bike ride.
Hang in there everyone, so many good ideas and strategies. With warmer weather remember the water...that might be my note to self ;).

Snore

Yesterday was good. 7k run and stuck to my calories 😊

Going to ride and do a Jillian Michaels workout this morning before the gf arrived. Today and tomorrow will be tricky as I have 2 bbqs with friends and that’s when I usually go off the rails but I’ve planned it out and intend to stick to it.

Lack of consistency is why it’s taken me a year to lose 2 stone and I want this last one gone and social occasions aren’t going to go away so I need to learn how to make them work for me.

Have a good day everyone

SunshineCake · 26/06/2020 06:40

You can do it *@Foreverlexicon.

I'm running today, then walking the dog then either pottering about or going shopping. Actually even writing that makes me aargh so probably staying in then!

OP posts:
SunshineCake · 26/06/2020 14:05

I did it!!! I ran 5 k!!

My app let me down so I ran for 33 minutes instead of 30 and my total was 5.34km.

Yay!!

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 26/06/2020 16:24

Glad it was zapped - I reported it early this morning, but no time to post.

Hope you've all had a good day. We have, but utterly exhausted! Just waiting on birthday boy (DS)'s pizza delivery for tea Blush

Foreverlexicon · 27/06/2020 05:45

That’s fantastic @SunshineCake well done!

Glad you had a good day @MrsJonesAndMe. Happy birthday to your DS.

I’ve woken up stupidly early which isn’t ideal. Going for a ride this morning then spending the day tiling the kitchen and bathroom floors. Have no idea what I’m doing; what can go wrong?!

Came in a couple of hundred calories under yesterday which is good as friends are coming over for brunch and we’re having drinks and a bbq tonight. I’ve planned it all out though so I will be staying on track.

SunshineCake · 27/06/2020 16:30

Happy belated birthday to MrsJonesBoy.

Good luck with the DIY *@Foreverlexicon. DH and I have repainted the kitchen today and DS2 just said it didn't look any different Shock. I like it and I think we've done well.

We are having sun dried tomato nut roast for dinner and I have just seen it has wheat flour in Angry[fed up]. I feel there needs to be a campaign to stop putting wheat in things as unnecessary fillers. There is no nutritional value imo and causes me a lot of hassle and problems. Grrr.

MrsJonesAndMe · 27/06/2020 21:25

gluten and lactose is everywhere! Well done on painting @SunshineCake How are you feeling after your 5K achievement?

Sounds like a good plan @Foreverlexicon Hope you had a nice time with your friend.

Thanks for all the wishes, he had a great time today playing with a friend in the garden - probably better than the cake, presents, birthday pizza and everything else put together which is really sad... feel sad for both my kids missing out on "normal" life.

My stomach is absolutely huge! Meal plan done and shopping ordered to arrive on Tuesday night ready for a fresh start on the 1st. Nearly a year ago I joined these threads for the first time and I don't want to undo all the hard work.

Hope you are well @RubySlippers77 @fallfallfall @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 and @Galvantula and of course @TheRealHousewife too

SunshineCake · 27/06/2020 22:35

Feeling very proud of myself and looking fired to running tomorrow but also worrying in case I run less than 5K.

I'm making a chicken dish in the slow cooker for a change so that is a good choice.

TMI DHTR

I've started bleeding tonight, long clots, so wondering if I am getting a period after bout four months without. Hope not Sad.
