Apologies for the terrible title but I wanted to encapsulate the boss and how supportive everyone is.

Hello!

It is odd having the kids around the house all the time. Mine are a bit younger bit I'm trying to use the time (not especially successfully 😅) to train them to at least put some toys away after they're finished. The 4yo especially makes a total mess all round the place.

We're going through some amount of food and the dishwasher seems to be on oven more than before with all the extra lunches.

I feel like losing too it sometimes with the chaos!

I can't complain as I'm still at work so I just see the aftermath when I get in most days...

SunshineCake · 07/05/2020 13:02

I get my chance and then messed up the title. Sorry BlushSad.

My kids are big so they are getting on with their studies, making their own breakfasts and lunches but the dishwasher is on a lot and I'm spending a lot of time in the kitchen. Mostly loving it though as lost my love for cooking. Today I've made dough in the bread maker for rolls for dinner and hand made fruit tea cake dough.

Hi, thanks @SunshineCake

My dishwasher has already run twice today and it's pretty full again!

Today was tough and I ate cake, a savoury home muffin, a toastie and a burger to name but a few things Blush but I did close the window now at 8hrs and I've had a walk and about to do a quick HIIT and then a quick yoga stretch.

Foreverlexicon · 07/05/2020 18:39

Hey guys, sorry for not checking in, it’s been a tough few days.

The return to work didn’t go too well with a minor mental breakdown and I’m now signed off for 2 weeks. Girlfriend’s mum passed away at lunchtime today. I’m hoping I will get to see my partner over the next few days so I can give her 7 weeks worth of hugs. I’ve honestly found it unbearable being so far away whilst she’s been struggling so much and it’s dragged up a lot of old personal memories for me. Absolutely not my style to sit on the sidelines twiddling my thumbs, I’m used to it either happening to me or being in the middle of it sorting it out and it’s been absolutely breaking my heart.

I’ve stayed relatively on track with food, found myself eating too little rather than too much which happens sometimes when I’m very stressed/emotional. Just trying to keep it in check really as if I start binging I certainly won’t feel any better and I’ve found exercise a helpful stress relief.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

MrsJonesAndMe · 07/05/2020 20:00

Condolences @Foreverlexicon Hope you can be together soon x

TheRealHousewife · 07/05/2020 20:11

Hi @SunshineCake ... I love it! Well done 👍. It would be great to carry these threads on.

Hello @Galvantula @Foreverlexicon @MrsJonesAndMe, nice and comforting to see familiar names! I hope you’re all ok!

Sorry I’ve been missing in action ... BRB ... just going out to clap ...

I’m @TheRealHousewife formally known as @BustedDreams.

Backstory. MN messed up my account and it’s reverted itself to an historic name as above. To be honest I’ve had a bit going on in RL then the beast of a virus turned up and starting wrecking havoc World wide.

Im blaming the stress of these unprecedented times on recent gains. Well you would gain wouldn’t you if you starting snacking with impunity. Cake, chocolate and all manner of yummy delights. I’m pleased to report I’ve caged the Snack Dragon 🐉 and I’m back on it. Turning the tide and starting over. I’d like to come out of lock down lighter than I entered it.

Take care & stay safe.

TheRealHousewife · 07/05/2020 20:14

@Foreverlexicon So sorry to read your post. Sending a huge hug.

MrsJonesAndMe · 07/05/2020 20:38

Welcome back @therealhousewife !

Have managed to maintain more or less though it got a bit out of hand last week.

TheRealHousewife · 07/05/2020 22:03

Well done @MrsJonesAndMe that’s great! I’m back on it so fingers crossed it comes off as easy.

SunshineCake · 07/05/2020 22:23

Every time I read the title I get more confused.

I think it was meant to say, It may be May already but there is no maybe about BustedDreams Girls keeping on being brilliant.

I'm so sorry *@Foreverlexicon for the loss of your MIL and your loss of weeks of hugs, etc. I thought it was Grandma who was ill so feels sadder somehow it is her mum. I'm so sad for you both for all of it. Take good care of yourself so you can take care of your girlfriend when you are able to be together. I'd be getting in the car tbh. You've been signed off. This is a necessary journey. Helping a vulnerable person is allowed and a woman grieving her mother is definitely vulnerable. Flowers.

I've been the same weigh for about a week which Is half a stone up since March. Not sure my head is in the right place at the moment. Struggling with trying to follow my intolerances and eat chocolate or sweets or crisps most days. Just can't deal with it right now and don't know why.

TheRealHousewife · 08/05/2020 06:27

Morning All

@SunshineCake you sound like you are the same as me. I’m sure my eating habits changed as a stress reaction to these unprecedented times. It feels so surreal.

The press aren’t helping as they continue to make sensationalist headlines. Government are flapping at the moment as this weeks headlines have alluded to significant uplifting of some lockdown restrictions which isn’t true. I feel the masses will take what they want from the headlines and go back to normal activity. In saying that in the area where I live a large number have gone about as normal (no police presence) since day one. I’m not a snitch but their arrogance is astounding. I’ve not been out since beginning of March as I have a spinal cord injury, kidney issues & several autoimmune diseases. Plus now I’m 1/2 stone heavier than I was. I wouldn’t stand a chance against the virus. We also have a couple of people near us who’ve got or had cancer and they are very concerned. Sorry .... a bit of long post.

TheRealHousewife · 08/05/2020 06:28

@SunshineCake forgot to say if you report your own thread via the report button on the first post you could ask MN to change the title if you prefer.

MrsJonesAndMe · 08/05/2020 13:59

Ah @TheRealHousewife that all sounds very scary.... we've had people here who have carried on visiting round each other's houses too and this week some who've obviously held off for 6 weeks, had grandkids round for the first time. Does make me cross as we've all followed the rules to the letter.
I'm not so much scared of getting it, but DH as things always go to his chest and he's a bit older (fatter)....and the added complication of SE status, so earnings already lower and illness would mean £0 for me.

We are celebrating VE day today so having a day off any worries and hoping to reign it back in tomorrow.

Thinking of you @Foreverlexicon

Hope everyone else also OK @fallfallfall @Galvantula et al

fallfallfall · 08/05/2020 14:23

Good Morning everyone :)

MrsJonesAndMe · 08/05/2020 15:07

I've just had a glass of prosecco, so you're good to get the corks flying @fallfallfall Wink

SunshineCake · 08/05/2020 16:17

Still fat.

Walked dog, put up the trampoline, weeded the front garden, usual kitchen chores, pegged out washing, played with the dog, rung my 84 year old friend (mum substituted), made cream of spring onion soup for lunch and pear flan for the kids for tea. Will make prawn risotto for our meal.

I've reported the title so we shall see.

Just seen the neighbours having a tea part on their drive with their little ones. Fine. What isn't fine is the three sets of neighbours going to see them and not staying the distance away. Grrrr.

I'm still coughing, have a bit of a cold too, this morning had the burning pain in the top of my back I had before I got ill. Really hope I'm not getting it again.

Your wish is our command. Smile We've edited the title now, as requested. It's a good'un!

Hi, I'm so bloated from all the delicious crap food!

Sounds like a busy day @SunshineCake sleep well x

SunshineCake · 09/05/2020 07:38

I woke briefly at 2 but didn't need to get up so bit of a result. Been awake since 6 something and have put another blinking pound on. Feel like crying. Look like the flor man from the 80s. Just can't see how to get this weight off. So hard to avoid stuff and don't even know if I am still intolerant as I can't have the test but I don't have any symptoms except putting weight on. I'm not bloated though so think I must be eating too much but I feel hungry such a lot as when I eat something extra I then feel okay. Dh said get on the exercise bike but even when exercising a lot I've never lost any weight.

OP posts:
SunshineCake · 09/05/2020 11:58

I'm doing 5K Grin

Dh gave me a talking too, nicely, this morning then made me porridge and raspberries. We walked the dog with DS1 and I did day 1 of 5K. It's a three times a week regime and I have a plan. I will try very hard not to weigh more than once a week and we will see how I go. DH laughed when I suggested taking a pregnancy test but I know he is right really that there is no point bit worried

Have a good afternoon everyone. We are about to have a picnic. I've put out ham, cherry tomatoes, olives and Brie and have made CPU's CPU's, pasta, roasted new potatoes, focaccia and quiche with mushrooms, onions, cheese and tomatoes.

@SunshineCake I would desperately love to be getting in the car but I’m waiting for the nod from her. She needs to be ready.

I’m struggling eating enough to be honest. Only managed a couple of protein shakes and a bowl of cereal yesterday. I just feel so low I can’t stomach anything. Not weighing for a few days so I guess at least I’ll of lost some weight.

Did Jillian Michaels and rode the horse yesterday. Nothing today, it’s too hot but hope to go for a run tomorrow and that might wake up my appetite.

Hope everyone is doing well

SunshineCake · 09/05/2020 16:26

Cous cous. I made cous cous not CPU's Confused.

Of course, *@Foreverlexicon. You must take your cue from your girlfriend.
