Apologies for the terrible title but I wanted to encapsulate the boss and how supportive everyone is.

well done sunshine on the activity!!
over here, yesterdays attempt at low cal was lower than usual but a long ways off 1000, closer to 1300 i will eventually get into the groove with little tweeks here and there.
meanwhile my mother asked me how much weight i gained....she thought with me being "ill" i may have lost my appetite.
honestly my eyes were shooting daggers her way, dh suggests i ask her about hair loss...

SunshineCake · 13/05/2020 19:40

I'm not counting calories but I'm trying hard and doing okay.

Ignore your mum but no need to be mean back.

I'm annoyed I can't run tomorrow.

I'm also feeling like I don't want to leave the house anymore, other than walking the dog, and would just get shopping delivered. Confused.

Step count - 10296 - thought would be a bit more.
Walked 7.91 km or 4.9 miles. 4.6 of those was walking the dog this morning. Yesterday I walked 5.2 miles just with her.

Good Evening you lovely lot ... A little story for you ... When I was getting washed & dressed for bed last night, to my horror I found a gluten free Jaffa cake melted to my boob 😮. Greedy Snack Dragon 🐉 must have put in there for later 😂. I do remember misplacing one when going from the kitchen to the lounge, I just thought I’d miscounted. Serves me right for carrying stuff around in my top and using my boobs as a basket.

So far today the Naughty Snack Dragon has remained in his cage 😬

I’m going to enjoy catching up on posts after my bath and when I get in bed. Feel shattered today.

Take care & stay safe x

MrsJonesAndMe · 13/05/2020 21:27

Now we can drive places, could you drive somewhere secluded for a zoom session @SunshineCake? Might have to be a "staycation" but at least he can rest a bit (and you) Sounds like you're doing well.

Yes, it's not very hopeful is it @RubySlippers77 I too would kill for that Costa visit!

How very rude of your mum @fallfallfall You will get there again.

That just made me splutter @therealhousewife Shock I haven't got a chest really so cannot fathom that people stick there mobile jaffa cakes in there.

Been a busy day here, ate more or less in the window, got a walk, had a yoga stretch, took my vitamins. Bought curtains for the lounge, work, school, wrangled with HMRC... cleaning - endless cleaning and washing.... Hmm

fallfallfall · 13/05/2020 21:47

I know everyone understands, she’s tiny but powerful. No fears sunshine, I’ll hold back from being nasty in return.
Mrsjones, my dh has been trying to file his taxes, it’s just been a real vicious circle trying to get a hold of HMRC (in Canada they are CRA, Canada revenue agency) and they are a scary lot!
Thereal....How very cleaver of the snack dragon.
I’m staying close to home and my activity is gardening. Loads to do!

SunshineCake · 13/05/2020 22:16

My tech knowledge is definitely not up to that, *@MrsJonesAndMe. I decided today I would wait to see her until I really can't manage and then I'll call for help.

Now I am loving the running I will use that. Desperate to weigh but I'll wait if I really can.

Hoping for a full nights sleep tonight. It does help. Could lose the dreams though.

Good night all.

RubySlippers77 · 13/05/2020 23:26

Night @SunshineCake... do try Zoom if you can, it is very easy indeed. Even my DP (a complete Luddite) got the hang of it in no time! Glad to hear you're enjoying the running too and that DDog is getting plenty of walks Smile

Grin Grin @TheRealHousewife... sounds like the sort of thing I'd do!!

Grrrr to your DM, @fallfallfall - if it's any consolation, my DM's speciality when I call her is to firstly say "you haven't called for ages" and then say "well I can't talk for long, Eastenders/ Emmerdale/ other random programme is on soon" - and then she'll wonder why I don't call more often, I can't get a word in round her busy TV schedule! And I fear we will have a nightmare with DP's taxes this year too; he'll get his tax bill towards the end of the year but it's for the tax year up to April 2020. Unfortunately of course since then he hasn't been earning as much with the coronavirus crisis going on so I suspect we will be quite a lot short in payments to be made...

I will see your excitement of curtain buying @MrsJonesAndMe and raise you my purchase of a laminator!! Fed up of the DC destroying all the printing!

fallfallfall · 13/05/2020 23:52

here taxes are calculated between december and december. and you have to file by the end of april and declare all your earned income. this year it's pushed back to august due to covid.
if they owe you money they really don't care when you file but if you owe them the interest rate is sky high (higher than a credit card and compounded DAILY) they do chase people and are almost untouchable should you think they made a mistake...they claim to never make mistakes...like the mafia.
but my hubby is having trouble logging in, special pin numbers have been requested, arrived and still no luck logging in.
generally the amount he owes is equal to the amount i get back so as a household it balances out. our honey business did well this year and we are entitled to a few extra exemptions and expect some money back from the business.
CRA is always updating their security system. and all the test questions my dh picked are no longer available from the drop down menu...
diet might be okay by the end of the day, over 3,000 steps in yardwork
no tea with milk/sugar, and no extra cheese snack.

MrsJonesAndMe · 14/05/2020 06:33

Sounds like a nightmare @fallfallfall and @RubySlippers77 I'm a bit worried about it all, but trying to catch up with paperwork and tax return is next on the list. Have done most of the book keeping, just need to finish off totals and deductions for the last few months (Jan-Mar)

@rubyslippers77 my mum is opposite. She lives with my dad and sister who are both very introverted, so seems desperate to chat at the best of times...and now there's no news because we haven't been anywhere or done anything really, it's hard to fill the half hour twice a week...but I do my best.

I'm glad you're enjoying the C25K @SunshineCake I really tried to get on with it, but never got past 20 minutes of running and have decided it's just not for me.

Hope you all have a good day. We don't have too much school work to get through, so fingers crossed.

SunshineCake · 14/05/2020 07:23

Morning a,k!

Just got all excited as I thought I'd lost an inch of my tummy already but no, still the same. Forgot the first measurement !

*@RubySlippers77 - it was about using Zoom outside the house. I wouldn't know where to start when out of the house. I am assuming Zoom is like Skype but with the option of more than one other person.

I'm enjoying my running, *@MrsJonesAndMe because I'm doing it in the woods where no one can see me or in the big field. I didn't get around to buying trousers but still need too. I'm running in jeans at the moment.

Foreverlexicon · 14/05/2020 10:15

Still ticking along here. Been sticking to my intake and exercising regularly. Might not weigh myself for a while as I suddenly lost a lot last weekend and if I stall then it might break my groove.

I’m heading off to see my gf tomorrow for the weekend so god knows what will happen food wise but we will be getting lots of hiking in and frankly I don’t care. That first hug is going to be unreal.

Plan to go for a run today. Quite fancy a long one but I did a long one the other day and I don’t have great ankles so I may not. I’ll see how I feel, and ride the horse.

Just hope I can keep this up when I go back to work next week as if nothing else, I’ve made great progress on the weight front during lockdown and I’m not a million miles from my goal now so would be great to crack it in the next couple of months for good!

SunshineCake · 14/05/2020 12:11

I'm so pleased for you, *@Foreverlexicon and yes, your first hug will be so meaningful.

I'm annoyed as doggy was so naughty I rang dh to come and get us in the car as she really didn't deserve the nice long way home and we were at that side of the field. I feel that I missed that extra 15 minutes or so but we were out for one and a quarter hours.

I've cleaned both fridges, put two wash loads on, made fruit tea cakes, have leek and pepper curry simmering on the hob and after homemade pea soup for lunch I will clean the oven. I'm going to take my dog out again as I want her to prove she learnt from this morning.

Hope you are all well.

OP posts:
fallfallfall · 14/05/2020 14:21

Holy Moly sunshine that’s amazing productivity!
forever the hug sounds so romantic, positive thoughts it’s a beautiful visit.
mrsjones just a bit scary at this point, use to be very stressful in decades past.
Pain in my ankle like I’ve never felt...so I might not be so active today.

SunshineCake · 14/05/2020 15:39

I'm just having an hour to myself. I took the dog for a walk with my son as I wanted to give her chance to redeem herself but sadly there were so many covidiots about we weren't out long. Before I went I cleaned both ovens and scrubbed all the shelves and put a wash on. I've booked the cats for their jabs and have added to my job list.

Tomorrow I will run again, my fourth and do more cleaning and tidying.

Dh has said I won't lose weight through running but I am hoping it helps with my asthma and surely some weight will come off?? I'm really watching what I eat but allowing small treats and no starving myself. I slept all night again which is fab and thinking it must be the running and keeping more on the go. Lovely as it is to have everyone here I feel I am doing more.

MrsJonesAndMe · 14/05/2020 20:09

I just got some joggers from Sainsburys for about a tenner at the time. Otherwise M&S do good leggings - just normal ones 2 for about £18, but they and places like supermarkets all do sports gear too.

I'm not a techy person either, but you'd just work it on your phone, so it would use your mobile data for it.

Sounds like a busy day for you and sorry to hear the measurements didn't go to plan.

@Foreverlexicon enjoy that hug and take care of yourself. Safe journey.

Take it easy @fallfallfall

Period about to start, so I've had the snack monster here! On the positives, we've got through the work/school work/house work, had a walk, did a quick HIIT and a yoga stretch and took my vitamins.

Sleep well all!

RubySlippers77 · 14/05/2020 23:29

@SunshineCake your productivity level is amazing!! I was thinking today that I must find some new routes to walk the DC on; there's no woods near us, we'd have to drive, but it's that or the (busy) footpaths near us. It's definitely worth keeping going with your running regardless of weight loss, it sounds like you're enjoying it and it's having other benefits, must be worth continuing.

How is your ankle now @fallfallfall?

I find Sainsburys clothing really good @MrsJonesAndMe, I'm waiting for another 25% off sale and then I'm going to treat myself to some new socks. I know how to live Grin

@Foreverlexicon hope your journey goes well. Enjoy the hiking and of course the hugs!!

fallfallfall · 15/05/2020 00:13

ruby a quieter type of day; my walking was mainly indoor on flat solid ground. so dusting, vacuuming, washed the floor etc. i hope that helps as last night was unpleasant.
it's 4pm and i'm ready to eat, possibly too much. i need to be careful with the portion sizes.
getting kids into the bush is so helpful and easily a great learning experience but finding the right trail to match the age group might take some research.
so many trails i hear about i poo poo thinking they would be rubbish, but my dd from london found one that was amazing for the grandkids when she came to visit! dh was so skeptical it was tense but in the end was fabulous they picked and ate salmonberries (almost identical to raspberries) and found 1000's of tiny toads having newly come out of the ground.

SunshineCake · 15/05/2020 06:36

Morning all!

Measured and thought I'd lost again but the tape measure was a bit loose Sad. Probably the half a bar of chocolate I ate last night as I was very hormonal Sad.

Do Sainsbury's do delivery for clothes? I've found some on a fancy website but bit unsure about getting them, though dh has told me to, but I've remember I have some soft jersey type trousers and as I only actually run for eight minutes I will wear those today to see how I get on. I can't wear my exercise bottoms as they fall down. Actually, I am assuming I will run for longer today as I start week two.

When I looked in the fridge and it made me happy to see how neat it was I have decided to sort out the notice board today as it is a mess. I am also keeping a diary from today about my dog walks. I keep wishing I had then forgetting to write anything when I got home so now I will. I have a notebook with dogs all over it so that is perfect. I have just remembered I also have one with a dog's face on the front which is the same breed as mine so may use that. I am a bit of a published writer so no excuse really.

Tomorrow is weighing say. Eek. Worried I won't have lost, or even worse be up.

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 15/05/2020 07:07

Yes, they deliver @sunshinecake.
Sounds like a good idea to keep track of your walks/runs etc Try not to focus on the numbers (hard I know) but you're still recovering - yes really - because your hormones and cycle are all messed up too after being ill.

I sat down and ate a massive portion of food after kids went to sleep. I was hungry and tired and hormonal too!

Hope you got sleep @fallfallfall and that may be the way to go for now, slow and steady.

Rock and roll @RubySlippers77 rock and roll Grin My big spend has been curtains arriving today. Last month I spent all my spare cash on DH's birthday. Maybe next month I can spend some on me???

Work and school to get through and then baking scones. Not really setting myself up for success Blush

Thinking of you @Foreverlexicon though I imagine you won't be online for a few days now.

Galvantula · 15/05/2020 08:01

Morning, sorry I've been missing as usual. It's been a busy week as I'm still at work full time for now plus trying to tidy the house 🙈

I'm still not over my 60kg limit. ✊ Still feel like I'm snacking more but managing to average out around maintaining weight calories. Will try to catch up later...Flowers

RubySlippers77 · 15/05/2020 15:54

Well, it's almost the weekend (not that it makes much difference!) but I am having a spectacularly crappy day. The DC have squabbled every 30 seconds, the house is a shit tip, I can get nothing done without them both then talking at me VERY LOUDLY and DS1 has been especially loathsome - I was in tears earlier because he will not stop hitting/ scratching/ pushing whenever he gets annoyed. When he's calm he gets it, but then the red mist descends and he turns feral... no idea how he will cope back at school.

I have shouted A LOT today and am not proud of myself plus there has been a lot of chocolate eaten but they have pushed me right to the edge. So, so bloody fed up.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 15/05/2020 16:59

@RubySlippers77 I feel you, sorry you're having a shitty day.

My DD was 6 yesterday so a day of fun filled craziness, today has been the come down after the crazy. She has also spent roughly 30 seconds playing with each new toy before discarding it, just had to embark on a mission to find the living room floor. Basically just scooped, dumped and swept it all to the side.

SunshineCake · 15/05/2020 17:07

Hello again

Today I had to run for 90 seconds and then walk for two minutes. I was surprised how easy it was and even easier than Wednesday when I ran for sixty seconds and walked for 90. I only needed my inhaler once instead of twice too. There was a great tip for breathing and it did help even though I'm not sure I did it 100% correctly. The soft trousers are okay but fall down a bit so I may invest in proper ones but not quite yet. Still the odd cough but nothing too scary.

Breakfast was two shredded wheat and a small squirt of honey as over dh recommendation.
Lunch was home made leek and pepper curry, no rice, but I did have soda bread with it. I made vanilla cupcakes for the kids and had a small one.
Dh wants pizza and chips for tea but I'm going to suggest half a pizza each and a few chips.

*@RubySlippers77 are your twins four and do you have more children? Would the time out step/corner work or 123 magic? I used that on the kitten yesterday and only got to 2Grin.

Can you get out for some fresh air every day, even if just in the garden to see who can find the first ten daisies or the first dandelion, count the different trees, bushes, flowers in bloom, sit quietly for a bee, butterfly or bird to appear?

Morning baths
Story time
Sorting toys

Mine are 14-19 so I can't think of anything new but I'm sure you are doing your best and some times kids are little sods and some times they need a drink, snack, cuddle, change of scenery or room.

Hang in there. It's nearly bed time.

I spent all day in the kitchen. I've cleaned out all the cupboards, tidied up the notice boards, moved stuff around as it wasn't working where I had moved stuff too, cleaned all the cupboard and drawer fronts, taken down all the stuff bluetacked to the cupboards - that immediately made a huge difference.

DH is going to Asda again as one prescription wasn't ready yesterday as I knew it wouldn't be and I don't feel I want to go out. I'd be happy just going out to walk my dog and not go out again. I'm definitely changing how I shop in future.

OP posts:
fallfallfall · 15/05/2020 18:35

ruby i've been there. positive thoughts once they are in bed you get a few minutes to regroup.
sunshine some of those ideas are fab!! i could have used those hints decades ago and may yet with the grand kids!
calorie counting going well and i'm pleased with the numbers i'm seeing on the scale.

MrsJonesAndMe · 15/05/2020 20:37

Sending you a big (((hug))) @RubySlippers77 That sounds like a lot for you to deal with.

Well done for maintaining @Galvantula you must be running around like a blue arsed fly Wink

Oh bless her with a lockdown birthday @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50

Busy day again @SunshineCake glad your jog went well and trousers falling down is definitely a worthy reason to shop!

Well done @fallfallfall

I've had a busy day with a brisk walk and football session mid way. Cleaning, work, school and baking. Now all showered and feet up!

Tomorrow, I need to go shopping and tackle the weeds and plant some seedlings.

Sleep well all x
