Modestandatinybitsexy · 29/04/2020 11:09

Have you done this? How have you done this?

I'm 5'8" and 19st.
I know I need to eat less and move more.

I have small children and I'm still breastfeeding. Apart from the standard chasing a toddler I'm pretty sedentary. I do all the cooking, not terribly unhealthy food but probably much too much of it.

Help me give myself a kick up my huge arse please!!

Hello everyone!

Lots of loses this week 😊 well done everyone! It is very motivational!

I have lost 2lbs! So i am very happy with that.

I really need to pump the tyres up on my bike! I got the bus to work last week because i didnt want to arrive at work a hot sweaty mess!

YellowPenny · 25/05/2020 10:13

@Nixi4 Congratulations you're doing so well! Make sure you're measuring yourself too as weight loss isn't just about the scales!

@daisyhead08 That's incredible! Well done.

@HoldingForGeneralHugs Incredible need well done!

I've just weighed myself and:
W1: 6lb
W2: 3lb (was 4lb but gained 1lb but did have a 'treat dinner' yesterday with two glasses of wine).
It's out of my system now though, I was craving a burger for 2/3 days.

I'm so pleased with the motivational posts! Well done everyone. Keep going!

ChequerBoard · 25/05/2020 14:11

I passed a major milestone today - I have now lost over 10 stone (10 stone 3,5lbs to be exact). It will be my 1 year anniversary of starting my diet on the 1st June, so one week away!

Namechanger0800 · 25/05/2020 14:21

10 stone!! Wow that's amazing.....any tips?
Are you close to your goal weight?

HuggyBuggy · 25/05/2020 16:52

Wow @ChequerBoard congratulations!!

How did you do it? What differences have you noticed? Do people comment a lot? I have to say I hate it when anyone comments on my weight at all. Has your life changed a lot?

Nixi4 · 25/05/2020 18:14

Wow @ChequerBoard that’s amazing.. like @HuggyBuggy I can’t stand the attention that weight loss gives. I don’t think it’s relevant unless I want to talk about it!

@YellowPenny - good shout about the measuring as I’m only wearing ‘stretchy’ clothes at the moment, really hard to tell. Almost dreading the thought of having to go back to the office!

Well done everyone, this is so motivating. I even went out on my bike today. I managed 3 miles, which considering how unfit I am is a big achievement. My shred dvd hasn’t made it out of its hiding place yet but maybe..

ChequerBoard · 25/05/2020 18:54

Thanks all. I've been doing my own variation of low carb/Keto since 1st June 2019. I Lee below 20g carbs a day but also watch my calorie intake - no mainlining cheese and cream!

I don't find people comment too much anymore. Mainly because I changed jobs at the end of last year so no-one I work with now knows me as 10 stone larger than I am now. I have lost another 3 stone or so since joining though.

I did lose someone I though was a good friend though. She just didn't like me losing weight, especially when I got to the point of being about the same or even slightly thinner than she was. I deducted she wasn't much if. friend if she only like me because I was bigger than her and it made her feel better!

Namechanger0800 · 27/05/2020 11:18

Gosh it's rubbish your friend wasn't thrilled with your weight loss. You are better off without people like that in your life. Probably very jealous.

How's everyone else getting on? I've done 30. Day shred today (level 2) ....bloody hard. Probably gonna go for a walk after lunch ...might pop baby in the sling instead of pushchair - she's blooming heavy but about the same weight (20lbs or so) that I've lost now which is a real eye opener when lugging her around the woods!

Got Thai prawn curry for tea with courgettes and some sort of a salad for lunch. Feeling motivated

daisyhead08 · 27/05/2020 11:23

ChequerBoard that is just amazing. You are an inspiration.

My weigh in day is Wednesay but I'm only down another pound since Sunday (or not at all depending on where I put the scales) I'll take it as another loss though and keep going.

W 1: 6.8
W 2: 3.2
W 3+4: 5

total loss: 15 lbs

YellowPenny · 27/05/2020 12:12

That's great @ChequerBoard it's interesting what you said about your 'friend'. I've only told my husband that I'm trying to loose weight as I have one family member who would continuously try to derail me in the past when I've lost some weight "oh I brought you a homemade cake, oh no I'm not going to have any. You eat it all." I really don't understand it?

It's quite nice that it's lockdown and I can't see anyone, or go to restaurants like I usually would with friends.

I appear to be stuck at the 15.12 mark (have been for the past few days) but I know I'm staying under my calories and exercising, so not getting too down. I've ordered a tape measure which will arrive tomorrow so I'll start measuring too. If anyone needs a tape measure i wouldn't bother with Amazon (all the reasonably priced ones were taking at least a week to deliver) but I got one in my ASDA collecting for £1.

@daisyhead08 That's amazing! Well done.

W1: 6lb
W2: 3lb

daisyhead08 · 30/05/2020 14:03

How is everyone managing this weekend? It is just beautiful here and all I can think about it is nice food and alcohol. I didn't have a great day yesterday foodwise, my eldest daughter loves to bake and made a giant cookie, with four different sections, mars bar, smarties, white choc and milk choc. She really wanted me to have some and I took a tiny bit, I really shouldn't have. I spent the day trying to avoid it with only some degree of success. I think I stayed within calories but I'd say only just.

I started at the beginning of the month so tomorrow is a full month. I'll be interested to see if I'm down any more. Even a pound!

I hope you're all enjoying the weekend.

Nixi4 · 30/05/2020 15:33

@daisyhead08 it’s tougher some days than others, I’m determined that I don’t self destruct when I slip.. I haven’t yet, but it’s a when 🤣. I’m making some sugar free jelly for later as it’s a lovely substitute when everyone else Is having ice cream. I will be grateful when I don’t have an extra 7 stone to carry around in the heat! Xx

OhioOhioOhio · 30/05/2020 15:44

I think I'm going to join you.

Namechanger0800 · 02/06/2020 07:39

Morning all - I'm still on track but only lost a 1lb last week. To be expected I suppose as Id had 3 weeks of good losses but still frustrating as I want this weight gone.

Has anyone read the obesity code? Read over the weekend and wow....a lot of it makes sense and I think my weight is about an insulin issue so am now slowly adjusting my plans to the solutions in the book. The thing that really struck me was the - I'm not fat because I overeat, i overeat because I am fat.... all boiling down to insulin issues. For years I've thought it's because I'm a greedy pig with no will power, but the books suggests it's actually hormonal
Issues

pinkyboots1 · 02/06/2020 08:19

Hi, I'm 4'10 and gone from 21.5 stone to 10.9 .. it's taken me two years of hard graft but it can be done. I did calorie counting at first but needed a bit more motivation and support so joined my local Slimming World, that works for me. I would say that the most important thing is finding something that is going to have maintainability. You'll be learning a whole different system of eating etc that you'll need to stick to and the mental side of it can be tricky too. You can do this x
The pics are me after loosing 2 stone and then with my friend in the same top just after Christmas

Namechanger0800 · 02/06/2020 18:35

Wow pinkyboots1 - amazing job well done

U look fabulous and so happy

pinkyboots1 · 02/06/2020 21:14

Thank you x it was definitely worth all the changes I made 👍🏻

daisyhead08 · 03/06/2020 10:07

pinkyboots 1 that is an amazing transformation. It's brilliant to see your photos, it gives a real sense of your achievement.

Super loss Nixi4 and you're right, I have to focus on not feeling like the heat is too much for me and keep my eye on the prize and the lovely clothes I'll be wearing in the future.

W 1: 6.8
W 2: 3.2
W 3+4: 5
W 5: 1

Total loss: 16lbs

I'm only down a pound this week. I'm trying not to be annoyed over it. In the past this would have been the thing that made me eat my way into a gain next week out of sheer annoyance and I'm determined to focus on having a better week next week.

HoldingForGeneralHugs · 03/06/2020 10:18

Hello everyone hope you are all well!!

Pinkyboots that is an amazing loss! Well done!
I like slimming world out of all of the diet things as its not really a diet and made me more aware of what im eating.
I cant afford to do it at the moment but might try on my own.

Nix4 they are amazing losses well done!

I put on a pound 🤦‍♀️ but it was hubbies birthday and we had five guys and cake so i was expecting more to be honest.
But i have started slimfast, i use it to trick my mind into breaking my habits if that makes sense. So ill do it for a few weeks get back into a habit of eating healthily and tracking what i eat and then ill be so happy to be free of it something like slimming world seems like a breeze. Seems weird but works for me!

I did cycle to work today! Only took me 10 minutes and wasnt as bad as i thought it would be (a few little uphill bits, i hate any form of uphill 😂) im a bit annoyed with myself as i should have done it sooner, i used to cycle everywhere all the time but since i put weight on was too scared of being the fat one on a bike.
But i did it! Hubby will be pleased it means im home quicker 😂

HoldingForGeneralHugs · 03/06/2020 10:20

Oooo daisy i missed your post!

Dont be downhearted you have been doing so well and its still a loss 😊

buckeejit · 03/06/2020 11:17

Can I join up please? I've been being healthier since start of May & down from 18st to 17st 6lb at last Monday weigh in.

I've been doing 10k steps a day & it feels like a lot of effort for such little reward, but I feel physically better already so that's something.

I'm just trying to be healthier with a bit of Slimming world of old rules. Not a fan of exercise & will have to try to increase what I'm doing to do more than walking. That might be July's plan. I was used to having big losses at the start of SW the last few times I've done it. I'm over 40 now & it's difficult!

buckeejit · 03/06/2020 11:19

Meant to say, although technically I should lose 9 stone or whatever, I'm aiming for 2 stone loss initially to keep me sane! I doubt if I'll ever be 10 stone & quite frankly, right now, the thought of being 14 stone delights me beyond measure!

Artartart · 03/06/2020 11:28

I'm 18 stone and 5.6. I'm on the pathway for barriatric surgery. I'm terrified but have some issues with insulin resistance, an underactive thyroid and some medication I take which makes weight loss very difficult and causes lots of hunger. For me I'm not bothered about looking slim I just want to be healthier and have read lots about the impact even losing a bit of weight can bring. Surgery is just a tool not a fix it solution. For those with lots of weight to lose this might be worth considering.

buckeejit · 03/06/2020 12:27

@Artartart have you tried conventional diets? When do you think your surgery is likely to happen?

I don't think it's a good fit for me as I'm sure if I knuckle down I can lose some at least, it's just slow. Honestly though, even though I've only lost 8lb so far I can already feel the physical difference. I don't feel the sluggish digestion that I used to presumably due to healthier food intake.
