I'm starting CD on Tues. My main worry is how my body will adapt after being on a vlcd? Anyone due to start soon or have any experience of maintaining their weight loss on CD

I lost 4LBs with week, so that's one and a half stones in four weeks!

I am now under the 30 BMI mark, so I am very happy and looking forward to getting below 25 early next year. Yippee!

Patsy

MatildasMummy · 28/11/2007 18:40

well done patsy - that's great news! and fantastic getting your BMI under 30. I have got mine down from 39 to 32, but 30is my next goal.
2littlins - i'm still messing around with protein. how did you nail it?

2littlins · 28/11/2007 20:26

I can't honestly say I have nailed it.I want to finish sooner rather than later. My cdc said I am about a week behind the average loss for how many weeks I am at and I think that is down to my protein nibbles most days for the last 5 weeks.
I have refocused much more in the last 2 days and are just thinking of how well I have done.I think having the protein for me is my loop hole as an excuse to cheat.I am giving in to my emotional eating with just protein.
I have decided if I stick at it and have no further protein then I will give myself a complete days of on Christmas day and boxing day then concentrate on losing the last stone.
I am sure if I had a week of putting weight on that would be the short sharp slap I need.
Let me know how you get on.
Even so I am still at 44 lbs off in 11 weeks

MatildasMummy · 29/11/2007 11:28

i just can't seem to stop and it's getting ridiculous. i think i need to go back to the mind set i had at the beginning of not having anything. my poor metabolism is probably suffering what with all the messing around. i have to stop and it's really important that i do. yesterday i was eating ham with dairylea spread in the middle....! think i have solved the problem for today though as have come into the office for the day and forgotten all my food at home.... am on aam so might go and get some chicken and lettuce for lunch so i don't starve!

helenhismadwife · 29/11/2007 21:03

Im have had a terrible few days and Im not sure why, I have been desperate to eat and have been sneaking bits of chicken slices, cheese and ham. I feel so annoyed with myself, and I am absolutely freezing cant get warm at all help please before I go completely off the rails Im drinking loads

MatildasMummy · 30/11/2007 09:31

helen - stick with it. learn from mine and 2littlins examples don't get started with the protein as we are both finding it pretty hard to give up. re getting warm it is known that you feel cold and i have heard various reasons in that you don't have any of the latent heat that your body generates as a result of metabolising the food you eat. I have to confess i am still suffering from the cold so i now have the heating on most of the time, wear thick socks and also sleep under two duvets! the double goes across both of us in bed and then i have another single duvet on my side - that and sleeping in jumpers seems to be doing the trick!
keep at it.... and if you're struggling shout as there are lots of people here who will support you through times when it's not so good.

2littlins · 30/11/2007 09:58

Hi Helen,
If you are feeling ravenous maybe its because you are losing lots of weight and your body is trying to over ride that with the eat signals.
Try really had to not nibble any more and you may get a great surprise at weigh in!
Hope you feel better soon. The coldness doesn't go but you just learn to cover up more.

helenhismadwife · 30/11/2007 10:47

Thank you MM and 2L I will try to stop the nibbling now by keeping myself busy. The keeping warm is a real problem because we dont have central heating yet.

PatsyCline · 30/11/2007 11:05

Brrrh, feeling even more chilly having read everyone's posts. I have a thermal vest, a cashmere jumper on (only Tescos!) and a wool skirt and I am still chilly. Mind you, I do live in the Frozen North.

I started my AAM week with a bit too much gusto - I read the wrong page in the manual and ate what you are meant to have on the 790. Oops! I was stuffed. It was all so lovely - I had forgotten that broccoli tasted that good! Anyway I have now read the right page and I am back on the path to righteousness.

I hope that everyone's wobbles are over and that we all have great weekends.

Hiya,

Sorry have been quite busy! and this had slipped off my threads I'm on watch!!
after only losing 1lb last week I lost 6lb this week My total loss now since April is 4 stone exactly!!
I am feeling great and can't wait for the last 2 to go!!

PatsyCline · 30/11/2007 14:05

Whoops, what star! You must be so proud of yourself.

I have lost three stones this year, but sadly it's been the same one and half stones twice!

Patsy

whoops · 30/11/2007 20:30

lol patsy!
If I hadn't put 10lb back on when I wobbled on ww I would be nearly 5 stone off now! although I possibly wouldn't have started cd if that was the case!

PatsyCline · 01/12/2007 19:19

Bless, my friend took me on a pamper day and bought me some size 12 trousers for Christmas. I can't get them on yet, but they are gorgeous and should focus my mind nicely.

Earth calling, Orson. Come in, Orson.

PatsyCline · 05/12/2007 16:50

Ok, only lost one pouind this week. Have had filthy cold and had to have some Lemsips which apparently is what will have scuppered me.

Now I am aiming to stay roughly the same until after Christmas... Put that mince pie down, woman.

MatildasMummy · 06/12/2007 12:33

i didn't get to my weigh in until yesterday where i had lost 4 lbs so i have now lost 3 stone and 1lb in 10 weeks. will aim for another 7lbs before Christmas but not sure that will happen. having a shocking day at work today and already had 3 celebrations....stress plays havoc with my good intentions!

chocolatespiders · 06/12/2007 16:19

MM that is a fantastic loss how much are you hoping to lose in total

you have done fantastic

MatildasMummy · 06/12/2007 18:06

if i'm being true to myself, then I need to lose the same again. I'm comfortably back into my size 18s now and some of the 16s are looking vaguely possible. slightly jealous of those people talking of size 12 and size 14s but I know my time will come and i will soon be back in my post baby post wedding wardrobe.

i've decided i'm not totally to blame for being overweight. my conclusion is it's also the men's fault. before i met my husband i was a size 12/14 and nicely curvy. after we got married the weight went on with contented eating, and i wasn't living and working in london as i moved to be with him so i walked much less. then we got pregnant and i ate to feed the baby, then couldn't diet (effectively) as I was feeding. so it's not just my problem its his too... directly and indirectly!! although i wouldn't change him or my little girl for the world.

i will be a yummy mummy soon

PatsyCline · 08/12/2007 15:02

I blame my DH too . We got married two years after we met and I had put on two stone by the weddding!

BaggyBick · 18/12/2007 20:41

Hello all, I'm hoping to start the cambridge next week... is it ok if i join you?

2littlins · 18/12/2007 23:09

Hi Baggybick.Good luck with the first few days, the first week will fly once you are in the swing of it.

hattiejacques · 28/12/2007 20:58

Just thought I'd let you all know I haven't disappeared into a big vat of chocolate!! In the past month I've managed to reach my goal and maintain my weight throughout the festivities which Im completely thrilled sbout. I had 3 glorious days of stuffing my face and am now back to being reasonably healthy. So for any of you that need some hope - yes - it can be done - I still can't believe it myself and you can come off CD and eat normally without piling it all back on. And I bought some size 8 skirts in the fat face sale today!! And they fit!! Keep going everyone. You can do it and it's so worth it.

Hi all,
Been off CD for 3 weeks and surprisingly haven't done that much damage drinking copious bottles of bubbles and eating chocolate and whatever else I fancied whenever I wanted. Thoroughly enjoyed christmas but have been back on SS for about 5 days. All is going well,24 pounds to go.

Hattie well done! You must be thrilled to be finished and down to your goal.Congratulations girl!!! work that size 8.

Hope its going well baggychick and christmas didn't hit you too hard. How much have you lost now?I am happy to stay in touch on here with you as I know how much support and encouragement I got from others...it really helps.

How is everyone else, finished, given up or restarting after the holidays like me?

Take care and all the best for a fantastic lighter 2008

MatildasMummy · 09/01/2008 12:55

Hello All

i too had time off for christmas. i finished sole sourcing on the 11th december and i'll be back on from this sunday. i have put on a bit but i didn't deny myself anything and had a great time. great news is that my husband is going to join me on the diet and we are hoping to get to the end of our ss phase in the next 8 weeks. the only thing i'm not looking forward to is the journey back in to ketosis but it was relatively pain free last time (did it in less than 48 hours) so i'm hoping cutting back on carbs in advance of starting might make it a bit easier. getting quite excited about the restart and seeing the scales going in the right direction again.

well done on getting to goal hattie. it must be so nice to be finished and through the plans.

good luck for anyone else who is carrying on after the festive period. 2 littlins stay away from the protein - i'm resolving to be good this time!!

2littlins · 12/01/2008 12:11

Hi MM Good to see you are sticking at it.Hopefully will be easier for you with hubby keeping you company and maybe on the straight and narrow.

I am happily a size 14 at the moment and want to lose another stone and a half.
I am really struggling to find the motivation to finish. The problem is emotionally I am really happy and it seems to interfere with the stickability factor.

When I started it was because I absolutely could not go another day the way I was, my motivation was huge and it was not an option to deviate from exactly what was required to get the change I wanted.

This has just dawned on me for why I might be hindering my completion. I am sure I aren't the first to struggle with this, so will hopefully be able to come up with a solution with my CDC on tuesday.

Have a good weekend and let me know how the back to ketosis goes for you
