I'm starting CD on Tues. My main worry is how my body will adapt after being on a vlcd? Anyone due to start soon or have any experience of maintaining their weight loss on CD

Some days only the recomended minimum and other days about 4 litres, If I'm out alot I never seem to drink as much even if I take it with me and when I'm at work it isn't possible if we're busy and then I'm in bed the next morning and have alot of catching up to do! I'm working tonight and will take my water with me and pray for a quiet night.

Hi all,
Spooky well done, you will have the clients coming in very steadily I think!!
Your advice is so appreciated on here.
Hattie, keep you chin up.Hopefully you will have got through the adjustment of adding food now and have a good loss this week. You are doing fabulously sticking at it to the letter, you should be very proud of yourself.
I am having trouble this week.
I haven't managed to stop eating the protein [should have stopped Saturday!] ie. chicken , after my aam week last week.
I am telling myself its still well within the less than 900 calories a day so I should still loose weight. And I have only had that, nothing else [as carbs are a no go zone] ....I am soo disappointed in myself.....I think I need to have a serious talk to myself to get focused on the last 1.5 -2stone.I feel really guilty as everyone is being so good
Thought I may as well be honest to you all and maybe you can help me get back on the straight and narrow!!!!!
I so want to get it right this time and get to my goal BMI.

hattiejacques · 29/10/2007 19:10

Don't be too hard on yourself 2littlins. At least it's only protein you've been having. Sounds like you've already told yourself what you should be doing. Maybe after a couple of days of strict SS ing you'll get right back into it. When I've wanted to cheat (and I mean really cheat!) I try to remind myself that if I do it'll just take longer on the diet which equals more money and a longer period of deprivation! You're still doing really well. It's bloody hard work sometimes so give yourself a nice treat for what you've achieved x

do any of you feel that you had a problem with food before you started this diet, i think that is what i am most worried about as food seems to rule me so how will i live without it??????? even though i am desperate to break the cycle?

2littlins · 29/10/2007 20:39

Thanks Hattie,I am going to start afresh tomorrow with complete SS the rest of the week.It is hard isn't it changing habits of a lifetime.
Chocolate... our relationship with food and all the inappropriate times we pick are so glaringly obvious when you go on ss.Don't worry its easy to do ss you won't be hungry... its just working out how to work through the emotional relationship with food thats the challenge and resisting the reaching for food.

hattiejacques · 30/10/2007 02:57

Chocolate. Food has always been an issue for me even when my weight has been normal. I know that in the past I've used food to distract myself from difficult feelings and I'm determined to try to change it. It was making me miserable so wasn't really working!

Afternoon ladies, just had my 2nd weigh-in. Bit disappointed as I only lost 2lbs. I really wanted to get my 1 stone in 2 weeks. Spooky - well done on your 2nd client, Hattie - on 790 and still lost 2lb - well done. Keppt up the good work everyone

MatildasMummy · 31/10/2007 15:54

2littlins · 31/10/2007 17:34

MM... well done you really are doing brilliantly.I am sure by week 7 you will have lost much more than a lb.
Queen... I have oriental chilli everynight with the rascals when they have their dinner and I love it!!!! every now and then I get a couple of spicy tomato soups [but haven't bothered with any other flavours as I really like those two!]Hope you have got through the first day ok.

chocolatespiders · 31/10/2007 20:52

how has your first day been queen?

QueenBhannae · 01/11/2007 08:59

Thanks guys, Well first day is done and dusted lol I did not feel hungry, get headaches or fall off the wagon and drank lots of water. No trick or treaters out here as we are quite far from the village and my three nearest neighbours are all over 80 lol. Fingers crossed today will be as good-just had strawberry for breakfast in muffin form-nice. Yesterday I had oriental chilli, butterscotch and chicken and mushroom. They were all yummy. No seriously. The chicken and mushroom one I made half into 'crisps' for with my soup and it tastes like stuffing! I should have some of the briks though as it will be a pita when I go anywhere I think.

Chocolate-monday will soon come around for you.Woo hoo

Start weight 16st 3lb (bmi 37) Goal weight 11st 0lbs (bmi 25) Intermediate goal-lose 2 stone by christmas(8weeks from start date)

chocolatespiders · 01/11/2007 19:29

thats fantastic

well done on your acheivment....

PatsyCline · 01/11/2007 20:58

I've just finished my first full day of CD. I am so hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did a big workout at the gym this morning (always do on a Thursday) and I guess that I used up at least a couple of hundred calories. My tummy is rumbling and I could eat a horse, but I have stuck to the Sole Source plan rigidly all day.

I am sure that my tummy will shrink soon and I won't feel quite as hungry...

Patsy

MatildasMummy · 01/11/2007 21:36

patsycline - welcome to our ever growing thread! well done on completing your first day, the hunger pangs will only get easier as you get through the week and when you get on the scales it will certainly be worth be feeling a bit hungry at the beginning. if you're still hungry drink lots of water - it helps!

queen - keep it up. i've not really experimented that much with cooking packs. i made a biscuit once but i thought it was a bit odd so i haven't bothered since. i might persevere.

hi everyone else - keep up the good work

PatsyCline · 02/11/2007 10:53

Thanks MM.

I've just been to buy DH's Friday Night Curry (usually our Friday Night Curry)- he had a health check this week and was pronounced practically perfect in every way, the swine.

I am feeling a bit headachey but determined to do give this 100% ang get to my first weigh in on Wednesday.

whoops · 02/11/2007 15:11

HI everyone
Sorry been really busy atm!
Spooky well done on your second client!
Well done everyone one else on your losses, I lost 6 3/4lb this week so in 3 weeks I have lost nearly a stone and a half I think this diet is fab!!
dd has been sent home sick this afternoon so I am at home on here rather than working that I should be doing!
Hi to the newbies and hope you are getting through the day ok!

2littlins · 03/11/2007 09:19

Hi everyone, you are all doing so well!
Whoops thats impressive for week 3.
I had WI thismorning and have lost another 3.7lbs this week which I am very happy with.
That brings my end of week 7 total to 34.5 lbs.
I have set myself a goal of getting to the 3 stone lost by my birthday in 3 weeks which I hope will be achieveable.
I have been back up in the loft fossicking in my bags that haven't seen the light of day for nearly a decade. I can now get on a size 14 versace pair of soft brown velvet jeans and are ecstatic.....again, couldn't possibly bend in them for fear of rupturing something LOL, but they are completely done up.....I hope to wear them out on my birthday!!
Hope you all have a great weekend and are looking forward to the next round of WI's.
xx

2littlins · 03/11/2007 09:22

Patsy...hope its got a bit easier for you now.I usually find if I drink lots when my tummy is bubbling it does help.
Good luck with getting through your first week.

PatsyCline · 03/11/2007 13:48

Thanks 2littls. My tummy has stoppd rumbling but I have been feeling very tired and had to have a short lie down earlier! However, I am very encouraged by the fact that I got through a normally indulgent Friday night and that I feel much less bloated than I did before I began to on the plan.

I will keep on keeping on - my weigh in on Wednesday will be here in no time...

hattiejacques · 04/11/2007 05:43

Hi everyone. Another busy week for me. Have caught up with all your posts and it's great you're all keeping going and doing so well. If I'm honest I'm a bit despondent because although I've been sticking to the diet rigidly since I've been on 790 my losses have really slowed down and this week I've lost nothing. I really really wanted to be at goal by the end of the month but I've still got around a stone to go. I've been wondering whether to come off the diet completely and do healthy eating to shift the rest but am equally worried about gaining weight by increasing my calories. So all in all I'm a bit fed up with myself. Sorry for moaning. I need to have a good chat with my CDC on Monday when I get weighed.
