I'm starting CD on Tues. My main worry is how my body will adapt after being on a vlcd? Anyone due to start soon or have any experience of maintaining their weight loss on CD

I ended up going and getting weighed tonight and I've lost 4lb so that's a stone in less than 2 weeks
I made the muffin by adding a couple of tablespoons of water to a pack then mixing it into a thick paste, I put it into a ramakin dish then into the microwave for about a minute and half if it looks a bit gooey still try if back in for about another 10 secs and then you should have a muffin!

magpumpkin · 25/10/2007 12:18

Morning Ladies, Chocolate - I would love to lose 3 stone, not sure how long it might take but I am detemined to do this - with the help of my MN friends. Whoops 1 stone in less than 2 weeks - fantastic , your muffin sounds divine, is it really moist? Question to ask (excuse the TMI) my monthly has come early by 1 week, has this happened to anyone else? Not worried about it just think it might effect my weigh in next week as I bet it'll come again!!!

I have to do this this way as I need the discipline of it.
Good luck Ladies-heres to us x

QueenBhannae · 27/10/2007 14:52

Chocolatespiders-I will hold off to start on the same day as you if you like? as I think having someone at the same level could help with the emotional progress
email me at [email protected]
Thanks for the immediate support guys
2littlins-amazing loss, how long have you been on cd?
Novacane-you are doing so well, how long did the headaches last?
Lisa x

chocolatespiders · 27/10/2007 14:57

that is so kind of you but please dont wait for me....i will soon catch up.!!!!
what day you planning to start?

i have heard it is good to cut back on carbs a few days before starting... to help with the withdrawal symptoms? it must be gard though as i imagine the day before starting wanting to pig out!!!

I will be cutting back this week in preparation and may even lose a few pounds this week

2littlins · 27/10/2007 16:47

I did an atkins type diet for a year and a half and lost just over 2.5 stone.Put on a couple of kilos and started CD 6 weeks ago.
I have to say I think its the best thing ever.Really quick results and I have not got any unwanted saggy folds todate...not counting ruined boobs from breastfeeding bubs...they are beyond salvaging!! LOL
I have only had one migraine but otherwise headache free, and a day of tummy cramps which I think is the carbohydrate withdrawl.
Otherwise not hungry and the weight keeps going in the right direction.
I did think before I started I would be on sole source for about 12 weeks and it is all working as they say it does.
I have had my moments of weakness but its easy with this to move on, put it behind you and get serious again.
Chocolate they do say if you have a last supper with this diet you have worse withdrawl so get the last supper out of the way about a week before you start then try to cut out as much of your carbs as possible.
Good luck and keep us posted. It really helps chatting on here, all being in the same boat, the support is fantastic!!

2littlins · 27/10/2007 16:49

Queen...thanks for the encouragement, you'll be there soon!!!!

QueenBhannae · 27/10/2007 17:44

My addy is sewing mad [email protected] (keep lines remove spaces)

hattiejacques · 27/10/2007 20:35

Hi everyone. I've had a really busy week and haven't been on mn and can't believe how many of you have joined in the past week!! It's great all the 'oldies' are still going strong and that others are inspired to start too. My sister is into her 2nd week and lost an incredible 12 lbs in her 1st week! I'm doing well on 790 but am a bit worried my weight loss has really slowed down. I don't think I've lost anything this week despite sticking to it rigidly. There were a couple of days I only drank about 2 litres of water compared to my usual 4 so I don't know if that's made a difference. Good luck to all those of you just starting btw

QueenBhannae · 28/10/2007 15:19

I am so excited now-really can't wait.
My concellor has lost 8st in as many months and is a dj so bound to be a good laugh
Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait lol.
Wish me luck ladies and hope you are all doing well today x

MatildasMummy · 29/10/2007 11:17

Hello to all the new people. Same as you Hattie haven't been on the thread for a bit because I was off for half term and it's great to come back and see lots of new people about to start. I have had my Add a Mouthful last week and I think I was bit naughty and had too much, but hey ho. My scales say that I have lost a 1lb this week but I'm not too gutted as still all going in the right direction and I can get on with back to normal this week.
Spooky Mad Mummy - very exciting that you have your first client. Can I ask you a quick question. There have been a few days when I haven't had my minimum of water. Is this going to have a bad effect on me. What happens to your body when you don't have the minimum? Also AAM week I only had 2 packs when I should have had 3. I didn't feel hungry enough to have soup and the thought of it wasn't very appealing when I could have savoy cabbage for tea (who would have thought!!)
Anyway, am away from home today so won't get my WI but may check in with my CDC tomorrow.
Well done everyone with your loss so far and hello to all the newbies.

SpookyMadMummy · 29/10/2007 15:21

MatildasMummy..
Very important that you have all your packs! Have a look at maybe making something different to soup or milkshake! Frozen tetras make good ice cream or look on minimins for recipes with foodpacks sticky on the Cambridge forum.
Water.. if you are having tea and coffee then if you don't have the bare minimum water then its not so bad, but try and keep up with the water!! I usually have 5 litres a day and the first is over and drunk by 8.30 am!!
Its shouldn't have too bad an effect, but you need to bear in mind that the packs are nutritionally balanced and having them all will stop your body going into starvation mode. If you do go into starvation mode your body will hold onto everything it can and your weight loss will stop. Hth! Feel free to add me to your MSN

Btw thats 2 clients now another rang me today!!

hattiejacques · 29/10/2007 18:20

Well done spooky! You'll be too busy to post on mn soon!! I had my wi today after my 2nd week of 790 and I've lost another 2lbs. I know I should be pleased but I keep thinking it's not much for such an extreme diet. I lost 2lbs last week too.

OP posts:
SpookyMadMummy · 29/10/2007 18:23

Never too busy to post on MN
Hattie, 2 pounds lost is 2 pounds lost, some weeks on 790 are better than others! Maybe you have a little water retention?? how much water are you getting through a day?
