I'm starting CD on Tues. My main worry is how my body will adapt after being on a vlcd? Anyone due to start soon or have any experience of maintaining their weight loss on CD

MM you are doing so great, well done! That is amazing being able to physically lift how much weight you have lost...good reminder to keep going as well.
Roll on your next treat to you!I didn't make the decision to actually reward myself but as my old jeans don't fit anymore I treated myself to a nice high street store brand on ebay which fit really well [not too tight for a change LOL] Its just makes me soo happy getting into store sizes again.

Hi Spillage, I think the food relationship is something that is coming up a lot for most of us at the moment. You are doing really well so don't be disappointed, the scales are going the right way!!!

whoops · 17/10/2007 17:44

Hi everyone
I went over to see my cdc today to swap some soups I didn't like and she weighed me - I've lost 10lb
I am really getting used to this now although I do find myself thinking about what I'm missing a bit! Oh well it's got me back to the weight I was when I fell off the ww wagon!
MM my first reward is to get my hair cut at the weekend if my hockey match is cancelled!

2littlins · 17/10/2007 23:33

Yah.... whoops thats fantastic!!!

magpumpkin · 18/10/2007 11:18

Whoops ... fantastic weight loss, MM 21lbs in 3 weeks you are my inspiration to go on.....
Well day 2 for me now. Yesterday I think i spent all day on the loo!!! I had to walk away from the dinner table last night. The food smelt sooo lovely but I resisted. DH actually texted me and said he would support me wholeheartdly, so I said thanks you can cook the dinners for kids for next 4 weeks!!!!He does try.bless him. I tried the tomato soup last night yuk!!! I did not like it. I think I will swop my soups for shakes instead. If I need warming up i will have a black coffee instead.Keep up the great work everyone

helenhismadwife · 18/10/2007 16:21

wow I cant wait to get started!

hattiejacques · 18/10/2007 16:59

Isn't it great that everyone is doing so well. Fab weight loss mm. It's so worth all the hardship when the scales show such god results. I was telling my sister about the diet and found myself telling her how easy it is now but how I struggled initially and had to give myself a few good talking to's to keep going. But it really has become easier. As long as I never have to socialise again I'll be fine!! Keep going girls! I love to catch up with how everyone's doing

just flipped out slightly at DH this evening because i've had bad work day, screaming child (think it's teeth) and he was quite happily tucking into a large glass of red. feel bad and we've talked about it and all happy now.
whoops - really well done. 10 lbs so far is fantastic. try and find something that weighs that and you will realise how well you have done. having a daughter of the right weight is great inspiration. It's bizarre carrying her up the stairs makes me quite puffy and to think i was carrying the equivalent around all the time. think loss slowing down now, but happy if i can still manage a stone a month.
hattie - know what you mean about socialising. my nct friends are trying to organise a night out and i have had to cry off. feel a bit rubbish but i'm in this for the long run and i can always catch up with them another time.
magpumpkin - keep going. after the first week it will get easier and you sniffing the food will be enough.
anyone else starting soon good luck.

whoops · 19/10/2007 07:03

MM - imagining the weight does help. DD was 10lb 5oz when she was born so rememebering what she was like helped me realise how much I had lost!
I got my hair cut yesterday in the end as I had a free afternoon.
The only downside to this is that I'm finding myself very cold in the evenings and I hate being cold I even went to bed with a hot water bottle last night!
Oh well off to get through the morning rush
Hope those that are getting through the first few days are ok

MatildasMummy · 19/10/2007 11:30

i think being cold is one of the side effects of the diet. it's not helped by the eventual arrival of the autumn but i'm freezing at the moment. last night i went to bed in a sweatshirt and socks. have made mental note to self not to weigh myself wearing all these layers!

2littlins · 20/10/2007 17:59

Hello all,
Hope all you newbies are getting through your first week swimmingly.
I had a bit of a hopeless week this week. I'm happy to put it behind me and work towards the next stone off after my weigh in today.
Started with the night out, moved swiftly on to getting a rotten case of face throbbing sinusitus and ended with 2.2lbs loss only.Since it was the week I was allowed to aam, I decided it would be better for me to add it than not.I have had the pleasure of chewing fish, pork and a sneaky steak with salad in miniscule portions but nice all the same.
Its probably a miracle I lost anything to be honest!!! So end of week 5 is 26.2lbs down.

I am always cold now, and spend most evenings tucked up in sweat pants sweatshirts and a duvet! Have also started sleeping in clothes which is very unusual for me...
I read the cold feeling was because as we aren't eating food, our bodies aren't metabolising food as much as normal, which means we don't get the energy released (heat) from that process [which would normally make us feel warmer]Hope that made a smidgen of sense.

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend and keeping strong resolves.Take care.
x

whoops · 21/10/2007 13:30

Hiya,
Well I've got through week one and it is so much easier than I thought it would be!
I thought I'd have real problems sorting the kids & dh's dinners out but it has been nice sorting it out I even made some gingerbread biscuits and scones! Today I am going to make some flapjacks!
I just wish I liked a few more of the soups as I'm getting a bit bored of the same 2 everyday but maybe I'll be able to have a bar instead on week 3.
I'm also looking foward to my aam week already as I am slightly missing some foods!

hattiejacques · 21/10/2007 18:26

Well done whoops on getting through your first week. It does get so much easier because when you start having bars and mousses it adds a bit of variety and you forget what eating proper food tasted like! I'm thoroughly enjoying my 790. Had 6 quorn sausages and some yummy mushrooms for tea and am stuffed! I'm going to have a butterscotch mousse for dessert which is reminiscent of angel delight as had as a kid!

MatildasMummy · 21/10/2007 22:31

well done on getting through week 1 whoops - you already know you are 10 lbs down, when are you next being weighed?
i have been struggling with my water intake so yesterday went out to buy an old fashioned kitchen timer and setting it to go off every hour, drinking 500ml each time. It's amazing how quickly 5 glasses goes down and then it's all a bonus. only problem is it ticks really loudly and scared the bejesus out of my cats when it went off this afternoon!
hattie - 790 sounds good especially if you can have 6 sausages! you must only be a stone of your 25 BMI now then. how much more do you want to lose?
my weigh in tomorrow and then add a meal. i have cheated everyso slightly and had a teasoon of low fat cottage cheese tonight. it was just a taste and it was heavenly - who would have thought that cottage cheese could ever taste so good.... will let you know how i get on tomorrow and keep up the good work everyone.

CayKon · 22/10/2007 00:56

Hi everyone

I did cd for a while before my wedding and lost 3 stone, felt great on the day, but havent got back on track since. ( That was a couple of months ago) I have put on about 7 lbs.

So now in total I have about 2.5 stome to loose. Today I am planning to get back on ss and sgift the rest. I know I can do it, but just need to get my head back in the right place

whoops · 22/10/2007 06:47

MM I'll probably go and see my cdc on Thursday night, Good luck with your weigh in today.
MM at least you cheated with cottage cheese and you know it won't do any damage I was naughty yesterday as I made flapjacks and couldn't resist nibbling I thought I'd gone out of ketosis but I've tested this morning and I'm still in at least I didn't think 'oh well I've blown it now! and just carried on and had my soup for tea.
I'm really going to stick to it 100% from now as I do want to shift this weight.
Hi CayKon , Good luck as you restart! It's good to hear stories of people stopping for a while and not putting too much back on, that is something dh worries that will happen to me but I am determined that it will come off and stay off this time

magpumpkin · 22/10/2007 09:40

Morning ladies, well day 6 for me, the weekend wasn't too bad. My hunger pangs are not to bad. I just can't believe I havent eaten anything for 6 whole days. I had to swop som soups for shakes as I didn't like them at all. DH says my breath stinks (blush) can I spray any breath freshner?. I brush my teeth about 5 times a day at present. Hattie I am so jealous(envy) of you 6 sausages sounds lovely. I hope you savourd each & every one!!! Whoops keep up the good work. Caykon your weight lose last time will get you back on track. My 1st weigh in tomorrow, fingers crossed.

whoops · 22/10/2007 11:27

magpumkin - you can have sugarfree polo's I have a packet with me in case I know I will be talking to someone! Don't eat to many though as they can have a laxitive effect!!

hattiejacques · 22/10/2007 18:21

Well I've just been for my wk 7 weigh in and I've lost 2 lbs which I'm happy with because I'v just gone up a plan. That brings me to 2 stone in total. In answer to your ? magp I think my bmi 25 is about 10 st 8 lbs and I'm now 10 st 11 lbs. My original target was for around 9 st 7 but I might stop before that. Don't want to look too wrinkly and gaunt!
How did your wi go mm?

2littlins · 22/10/2007 22:54

Hattie you are nearly there, thats so great you must be very happy. You will be done in no time.My mouth starts salivating everytime you mention your yummy meals!

Good on you all for getting throught the first week.It is going to get easier for you and around the 3 week mark, that constant I want something but don't know what does fade.

I was sorting out recent pictures on the computer today are were pretty embarassed by a lot.Saved them anyway as I thought it was a good way to remind myself how far I have come and great incentive to stick at it!!!

Excellent to know about the polo's.
CK you have done it before and know you can get to the end, good luck for when you start again
MM can't wait to hear how your weigh in went.
Good luck whoops and and mags for weigh in day!!!!

MatildasMummy · 23/10/2007 08:26

Morning all

WI last night and I have lost another 3 lbs. Not as much as I would have hoped this week but my CDC said it might be a bit slower this week because of TOTM. Brings my total in 4 weeks to 24 lbs which I am very happy with.

Now on AAM week and my CDC calls it Add A Mouthful so I was suprised by how much 50g of chicken actually was. I had chicken with spinach and garlicky mushrooms. I sat down to eat with my DH for the first time while he tucked into his chicken in a white wine and cream sauce with piles of gorgeous looking mashed potatoes... oh well. he has said he might join post Christmas as he could do with losing 3 stone in time for the cricket season!

I know I probably won't lose much (if anything) on AAM so my next goal is 2 stone off by week 6.

Hattie - you've done really well! you must be really happy with how far you've come.

Mags and Whoops - good luck for WI and let us know how you get on.

Everyone else keep at it.

Just a thought. I wonder as a group how much we have all lost since we started CDC? It's got to be a whole person by now!

magpumpkin · 24/10/2007 09:35

Morning ladies, Well had my 1st weigh in yesterday.....11lb off and 1 inch off my waist.. yippee. I was so chuffed. My CDC laughed at me, I have been drinking 4ltrs of water a day not 4 pints, doh! no wonder I couldn't get off the loo. MM fantastic weight lose 24lbs in 4 weeks, hope thats me in 3 week time. Whoops how was your weigh in?
Hattie. any nice meals for you this week?. Is your weight still coming off?

MatildasMummy · 24/10/2007 13:57

whoops · 24/10/2007 18:14

well done magpumpkin and you MM 24lb in 4 weeks is fab!
My weigh in is tomorrow night but I don't think it'll be too great as I'm due on this week!
I have had a couple of dodgy days where I have had a couple of nibbles of things but i'm back on track today and had nothing but the cd units! I made a muffin out of a chocolate shake this morning - it wasn't too bad!
I had some psyllium husks arrive this morning so am going to try them tomorrow as I need something to help regulate me

chocolatespiders · 24/10/2007 20:38
