Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

Happy birthday @SunshineCake, hope you had a lovely day.

I’ve had a better day bar a slight emotional breakdown and little quarrel with the gf (very minor but I feel rubbish as we never argue and I was very much taking my mood out on her), stress is getting to me.

Three days to go before life can settle down and become more manageable.
Pleased with food today
B - protein shake
L - wrap with veggie sausage, egg, cheese and mushrooms. Packet of sunbites
S - fruit salad and Cappucino
D - cabbage and mince casserole
S - caramel egg

Only rode the horse for exercise but got lots of steps at work.
I’m relaxing a little on the food front - as pleasing as losing 1/2 stone in under a month was, that’s too fast given I’m a healthy BMI and it’s vanity pounds I’m losing and it didn’t involve a big water weight woosh plus my brain was going funny about food.

I’ll step up the exercise again next week and hopefully this will keep me a little saner. Even if I only lose 1lb every 10 days, I feel like this is entirely sustainable which is important!

BustedDreams · 13/02/2020 09:16

Morning All

This might be interesting to some of you. I myself really needs to be mindful of the effect of extra calories eaten which take you over tdee. I’m especially measuring out butter & oil as it’s easy to misjudge. I am generally using less than I did.

Menu
Lunch home made soup. Pear.
Evening meal. Homemade flan and a massive salad.

Water, white tea, turmeric latte.

Have a good day y’all’s!

I have cycled 30+ km on the exercise bike. Had homemade soup and sour dough for lunch and dinner and saved cake for tomorrow. Hope I am rewarded.

fallfallfall · 14/02/2020 06:55

Hello everyone, my food choices are very poor. Temptation at every (well not quite) corner. But I’d not be so tempted if the stress was less...
Walking lots though 22,000 steps yesterday.
No time to spend on my iPhone.

RubySlippers77 · 14/02/2020 10:04

Well done @SunshineCake and @fallfallfall on the exercise. I'm still full of snot and finding it difficult to breathe, let alone move much! My steps are still around 15K per day but when I was dog walking too I could make it to 20K...

Haven't dared go near the scales yet. DP wants a takeaway tonight, his choice so it will no doubt not be a healthy one!

BustedDreams · 14/02/2020 11:27

Morning All

Stayed on point. OMAD today but it will be a Valentines Special.

Steak, mushroom, onion & pepper sauce. Veg. Few oven chips.

Red Velvet sugar free cupcakes (gluten free).

Glass of sparkling Grin

I wasn't rewarded. Up in fact. Grr. Blaming it on being late.

Hope everyone else has a good day. Mine is full of errands and appointments.

Foreverlexicon · 14/02/2020 12:03

I’m feeling a bit growly as I havnt had time to exercise apart from the horses this work set. Was sure I would fit in a run today but finished work 4 hours late and didn’t sleep properly so once I’ve ridden I’m going to need to prioritise a nap!

I’m not going to weigh for a couple more weeks though, I’ve probably eaten more at maintenance this week but it’s been highly stressful so mainly trying to survive at the minute!

Yesterday (which turned into a 22 hot day)
B - ryvitta with peanut butter, banana and honey
L - ham and cheese wrap, sunbites, 2 chocolate biscuits
D - chicken curry and rice
S - Cappucino
S - ryvitta with cheese and a caramel egg
Rode the hoss.
Calories were approx 2200 but I do think that’s about maintenance for me.

I’m going to get through the next two days - weekend night shifts - the best I can, I’m out for dinner on Sunday night and then plan to make another push to lose a couple of pounds before i weigh again.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 14/02/2020 12:39

Today is going to a bit of a write off as having KFC for valentines dinner.

B - fat free bacon rashers x 2 and 2 eggs
L - bbq chicken jambalaya wrap
D - as many pieces of original recipe KFC chicken as I can fit in me

Yesterday was good though

B - skinny latte
L - 1 pork sausage and veg cooked without oil/butter
D - chicken breast and veg
Snacks - fruit

DrDiva · 15/02/2020 08:15

@RubySlippers77 I hope your cold has calmed down!
And @Foreverlexicon is it today that things calm down? I hope so!

We have just lost every hard floor surface in the house to our enthusiastic builders, so I can’t weigh for a while Grin

BustedDreams · 15/02/2020 08:50

Morning All

@Foreverlexicon I hope work calms down for you. Stress is a bugger for weight loss. Is ‘22 hot day’ reference to the weather temp? I thought you were in the UK. It’s strange how we build a picture up of each other.

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 how was the KFC? I used to love it! Sadly can no longer have it as it isn’t GF.

@DrDiva is there an end in sight for your building works? It’s so disruptive when works are ongoing.

@SunshineCake here’s hoping you have a better day of it.

Yesterday was a write off Blush And I do actually regret it [don't normally] as it was totally stress based and me eating my feelings. I need to get it in hand as we have a few stressful months ahead and I’m at risk of undoing all my hard work. On a positive we didn’t have our planned sparkling wine as OH back later than expected so didn’t bother.

Brand new day today!
Menu
Lunch home made soup
Evening Fish & vegetables. Pear, strawberry fruit salad & Greek yoghurt.
White tea, water, turmeric latte.

Have a good weekend. What’s everyone doing?

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 15/02/2020 10:17

KFC was great while I was eating it but still weighing my belly down now, think it's because I've been low carb and salt for the last couple of weeks and it making me feel all bloated now.

This weekend is an indoor weekend thanks to storm Dennis.

Your menu for today looks nice @BustedDreams

BustedDreams · 15/02/2020 10:43

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 thank you, looking forward to soup. At the moment I’ve got a hum dinger of a headache. I’m sure it’s blood sugar related. I seem to get headache every time I have sugar (in gf bake). Same here re: Dennis the Menace storm. Wind howling, raining. Proper pants weather. Dogs hate it when they do go out.

Hi

How does everyone cope with hormones ? I'm happy that my son has come home from uni to surprise me for my birthday but I've felt flat and tearful for the last few days. I feel hungry and a failure as just eaten eight nuts. No energy to go on the bike but have just walked the dog. Weight is up from two weeks ago and I've been eaten things I'm intolerant too as I'm fed up of the restrictions. Feel I hate myself for being useless.

BustedDreams · 15/02/2020 16:21

@SunshineCake hormone fluctuations can cause havoc with feelings, emotions and appetite. Nonetheless 8 nuts = about 100 cals. Don’t beat yourself up, that’s a good snack choice as nuts are full of fibre and protein. Enjoy your boys visit Flowers

SheepSocks · 15/02/2020 16:51

I'm doing well today after eating a massive chocolate bar yesterday!

I went for lunch with my lovely gran today who still makes lunch like it was made in ww2, I very much enjoyed my rations and looking forward to a healthy heart stew for dinner.

SheepSocks · 15/02/2020 16:56

@sunshinecake - yesterday was a hormonal day for me too. I ate a giant chocolate bar, I figure one day of in 28 days won't kill me. It also means I won't kill my husband.

SunshineCake · 15/02/2020 17:09

Thank you for your kindness, @BustedDreams and @SheepSocks. I did go on the bike for half an hour but have eaten half a bar of dairy milk. Period is late. I'm exhausted. Did have a lie down for 3/4 hour and just watching tv for the day. DH will go out in the horrible weather to get DD. Ds goes back tomorrow. Much as I've loved seeing him and his GF who has popped over today, it makes it harder when he goes back. He's been gone since September and I'm still not used to it.

MrsJonesAndMe · 15/02/2020 19:49

Ah, sending you a hug @SunshineCake I deal with it by eating all the wrong things! I've had all the wrong things this week thanks to being tired/stressed, a bad cold, bad back and the start of my period and I've been rewarded with a 3lb gain... I will just dust myself off at some point and get back to it.

Thinking of you too @BustedDreams you do amazingly well 99% of the time, don't be too hard on yourself.

waves to everyone else

SunshineCake · 15/02/2020 20:06

Thank you @MrsJonesAndMe. I really need a hug today. Just remembered ds going back tomorrow. I'll write off the weekend then start again on Monday.

Galvantula · 15/02/2020 21:25

Hello

Sorry I've been ignoring you all Blush

I was in a bit of a downer/panic that I put on 2kg. Turned out it was only the 1. I just needed an.. Ahem.. Clear out. 😂

Shift work does play havoc with my daily routine, or lack thereof.

I had a nice day with the family today, we managed to get out as the weather is meant to be even crappier tomorrow!

I've been hitting around maintenance level of calories, or a bit over. I guess at least I'm aware of it...

BustedDreams · 16/02/2020 08:26

Good Morning All

Storm still raging here. Going to stay home and cook a roast chicken dinner.

Stayed on track yesterday. Took all day for the headache to pass. I’m sure it’s sugar/insulin related. I was tested as pre-diabetes last year and I’m concerned I’ve developed diabetes. I need to discuss with nurse and see if I can get blood sugars tested. I really hope I’m wrong!

Pleased to see you @Galvantula ... I agree, nothing like a good clear out. Thumbs up for poophoria Grin

Wishing everyone a great Sunday! Coffees on me !

@busteddreams I'm coming to a similar conclusion, after KFC and chips Friday and pasta bake yesterday I do not think my body can handle carbs. I hadn't realised how much better I was feeling over the last 2 weeks without them. Had bloating, headaches and gnawing hunger immediately after eating last couple of days.

I had GD when I was pregnant 6 years ago so more susceptible to T2 diabetes.

Going to stick to no carb, have much more energy and feel generally less weighted down and achy.

Lyndsey9390 · 16/02/2020 12:59

Hi everyone,

What an awesome post, never seen anything like it!

I've been trying to diet for months, and I go to bed every night with the best intentions and by lunch time it's ruined. And I'm eating biscuits!

But ideally my plan is IF 18 -6, drink more water and eat cleaner. I don't eat chicken or eggs. So protein is a little difficult for me. But I swap for quorn a lot. I also eat fish and red meat. But I try not to eat too much red meat.

Exercise wise at the moment I am just walking.

When I get on the IF wagon I do amazingly at it :)) just need to get my motivation back.

Looking forward to reading other positive posts.

MotherOfLittlePeople · 16/02/2020 15:42

How's every one doing so far this month?

I didn't get weighed last week so due to get weighed tomorrow and DREADING it so much. Hoping last saturdays off plan tea (although I was sick after from all the grease, doesn't agree with me now)

My scales have now gone down slightly but I'm hoping groups scales show a bigger loss. On a plus note I went to buy some new jeans today and I actually ended up with the size smaller so a non scale victory there 🥳.
