Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

@busteddreams basic idea is that non starchy veg and fruit is zero points on the WW plan so you can eat as much as you like.

They have a list of all zero point foods here www.weightwatchers.com/uk/article/complete-zero-point-foods-list-weight-watchers

I cook down finely chopped onion on low heat, no oil, if it sticks I just add a drop of water.

Then add in
Sliced carrots
Baby button mushrooms, as many as I can fit in the pan
Baby corn
Green beans

Then 2 cans of chopped tomatoes, I cheat and get the ones with herbs/spices already added so I don't have to think about seasoning. Chilli and garlic today.

1 cup of water

Then let it bubble on low for 30 mins or so.

As long as you don't use oil and stick to zero point veg you can eat as much as you like apparently. I did a breakdown once and a full cereal bowl was about 200 calories. I use lots of mushrooms and don't cut them small because that way it seems more filling.

Hi all

Safe flight @fallfallfall and I've been freezing, but compared to your temps, the UK may feel mild!

Gosh, @SunshineCake that's a long delay and a big mess on the road no doubt. Have you got some nice plans for your birthday?

Thyroid check apparently "fine" and dosage to continue as is so a bit stumped as to why I feel so frankly crap! Maybe just winter blues!

Eating is so so. Been busy doing boring sit down stuff, but walked to school and back and will do yoga tonight.

Have a good weekend all!

BustedDreams · 07/02/2020 14:58

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 thank you! I might give that recipe a whirl on my next batch of soup. It will be hard to not add butter and oil. I know I have way too much and if I reduced what I had I could eat more solid food. Thanks again.

@MrsJonesAndMe it’s good there’s nothing wrong with your bloods/levels but not so good you feel pants. Have you tried a day light light bulb or one of those alarm clocks that wake you up naturally? Do you think you might suffer from SAD ?

OP posts:
SunshineCake · 07/02/2020 19:54

I'm definitely going to make your soup @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50.

No real plans for my birthday as everyone will still go to work and school but I won't be cooking and I will eat cake Grin.

SunshineCake · 07/02/2020 19:55

@MrsJonesAndMe you need a dog! Nothing cheers me up like a walk or cuddle with mine. Wish I'd got her years ago. Might have saved on the medication Sad.

DrDiva · 07/02/2020 20:03

Evening! Still here. Just about.

@BustedDreams I did OMAD for 9 months at the start of last year, really successfully. Just can’t get my head into the right space at the moment. Don’t quite know why.

Hope you are all ok. Have a lovely weekend, and I hope you have great weather to enjoy it in!

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 07/02/2020 20:52

It is a very tomatoey/acidic soup but I'm a fan of tinned tomatoes on toast so like that Grin you can add less tomato and use chicken stock and other veg on the zero point list like peppers if you prefer.

MrsJonesAndMe · 07/02/2020 21:07

Oh I couldn't cope with the extra work or cost involved with a pet on top of everything else @SunshineCake though it's a nice thought.

@BustedDreams a SAD lamp really wouldn't work for mornings as DH sleeps later and DS wakes me in the mornings -5:30 today, normally about 6, but can't cope with the thought of any of us being woken earlier! I do struggle with the dark winters so make a point of getting out in daylight every day. Just going to push on. Taking Vit D, iron and b12, but might look at a higher iron content as I know iron also low.

Have a good weekend all x

SunshineDays1 · 08/02/2020 01:58

Hi all, Lost 3kg in January. Holiday coming up in 2 weeks, so let’s see what February holds for weight loss.

Foreverlexicon · 08/02/2020 07:48

Weigh in for me today and I’ve lost 2.8lb Grin

This means I’ve lost just over 7lb since 10th January. Very pleased! This puts me back into a healthy BMI.

Not sure what I’m going to eat today yet but exercise wise I will be riding the horse and plan to go for a 6k run.

NorthernPowermouse · 08/02/2020 09:46

Well done ForeverLexicon and SunshineDays! I’ve not weighed today, was dragged out of bed early by kids. Was going to take them to a local NT place for a walk and some fresh air but neither of them are particularly well. So the picnic I made will be consumed on the floor of the living room. So that’s a cheese sandwich and some mango for lunch and prawn stir fry for tea.

We aren’t talking about yesterday 🙈 😬.

Have a good day all!

MrsJonesAndMe · 08/02/2020 14:56

Well done @Foreverlexicon and @SunshineDays1

Hope they are better soon @NorthernPowermouse

I'm holding steady which I guess is the aim of maintaining Wink

We were planning to go to London tomorrow, but the weather forecast has made us reconsider, so just trying to find something indoors. Nothing in the cinema that suits both age groups Angry

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

fallfallfall · 08/02/2020 17:14

I’m in the zone, time zone that is.
Lots of steps over the past 24 hours, but loads of bread products and sugar. I’ll need some serious detoxing at some point.

DrDiva · 08/02/2020 18:06

Welcome, @fallfallfall !

Did a bit more walking today which is good - DS is back in form with two arms and a working stomach Grin so I had to work off some of his energy

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 08/02/2020 19:50

Evening all!

One full week of work down and I'm completely exhausted. Sleeping well though which is a bonus.

Bought my first choc bar this year today, because I saw it on offer (coffee dairy milk) but I don't actually want it. My tastes have completely changed in the last six weeks.

My daughter has been doing aerial classes with the local circus. They also do adult classes and I'm really tempted to put my name on the waiting list for when I'm thinner. You need so much upper body strength though. I suppose I could be working on that now?

Hope everyone's having a great weekend.

RubySlippers77 · 08/02/2020 21:44

@SunshineCake I would love a dog! Hopefully once the DTs are a bit older and can appreciate how much work they actually are, rather than just pestering to get one...

@MrsJonesAndMe there are very few meals we all eat together either! Both DTs used to enjoy spag bol - today DTS1 decides that he doesn't like it any more and won't even touch it. Aaarrgghhh Confused

I am feeling utterly rubbish this week and all I want to do is eat cake and drink hot chocolate. Partly a streaming cold and partly things at home are making me sad. Not a great weight loss combination!

MrsJonesAndMe · 09/02/2020 06:20

Welcome @fallfallfall

How old are your twins @RubySlippers77? that must be a handful! At least today is a roast dinner which everyone eats most elements of. Here if you need to get stuff off your chest.

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa I'm sorry to hear you're so exhausted from work. I think you're very brave to put your name down for those classes as I wouldn't be comfortable to put myself out there!

Not enough sleep and restless as the wind kept waking me. Keep safe everyone!

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 09/02/2020 10:45

Buggering bastard fence is down again, every year I lose a couple of panels, every year I get new ones, every bloody year!

Foreverlexicon · 09/02/2020 19:28

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa I used todo aerial silks, it’s fallen by the wayside a bit due to shifts (although you’ve given me a kick to see about going again!) and it’s SO much fun. Really really recommend!

I’ve had a decent enough couple of days although it’s included my ‘setly’ treats.
Yesterday;
B - toast with Dutch chocolate sprinkles
L - walford salad and 2 satsumas
D - pizza, halloumi fries and ice cream Blush
5.5k run and rode the horse

Today
B - Cappucino
L - lunch out, I had tacos with bbq pulled pork and spicey chicken. It was a reasonable portion with no cheese or sour cream etc so think it was okay.
D - chilli aubergine stir fry
S - dairy milk chocolate bar

I’m not going to weigh for a few weeks partly as I was very anxious about the pizza so just need to watch my mindset and partly I’m out for dinner before my usual weigh in day and I don’t like to weigh on a work day as my sleep is messed up - I know what I’m doing is working so as long as I keep going then the scales will go down whether I see it or not!

SheepSocks · 09/02/2020 21:42

I've started to come down with a cold, bleurgh! I've taken DD swimming today and I'm hoping the half an hour of carrying a 2 stone toddler up and down the pool constitutes as exercise.

Ate a revolting bright green soup which I lazily bought from Asda after swimming. Then I've done a full round of sit ups with a weighted ball this evening. If I don't start t lose weight soon I will weep!

I'm giving up 2 full months then going to ask the doctor for some tests. I don't think I can change my life style with better food and tons more exercise and not lose weight after two months.

BustedDreams · 10/02/2020 08:17

Good Morning

@SheepSocks I was you. Doing everything right but the scales were going up! I was eventually diagnosed with thyroid disease and I’m still trying to get the dose right. The weight has stopped going up but seems stuck iyswim. I’m carrying on with my regime as otherwise I’d be gaining. Hope you see change soon!

@Foreverlexicon nice couple of days food there! I totally get your thinking around the scales. Well done on your loss, If the overall trend is downwards your winning 👍

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 Sorry to hear about your fence. Yes, the wind was very destructive! I’ve lost a terracotta pot as it got blown over and smashed. I’m making your soup today without butter or oil. That’ll be a first for me as I use it in everything. 💡 moment ... is that why I’m not losing? Doh!

@RubySlippers77 hope you feel better soon!

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa how brave! I don’t like heights and my upper body strength isn’t great so I’d be no good at Aerial stuff. Well done in regards to your daughter doing it.

@fallfallfall welcome to the uk. Glad you’ve arrived safely.

@DrDiva I need to up my walking. Not done much at all this weekend as I had a really painful migraine. Now I just feel totally shattered.

@MrsJonesAndMe yes I can understand that. I’ve read being out in the real daylight helps circadian rhythms.

@SunshineCake sounds good to me! 🎂

Have a good week peeps.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 10/02/2020 10:20

@Foreverlexicon really? I'm quite excited to try it! What did you do/like?

I've measured today for the first time since the start of January. I've lost a total of 28cms over my body, including 7cms off my hips. 👍🏻

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 10/02/2020 10:40

Cheeky weigh in this morning because I had a good weekend and wanted to see if it paid off and I'm another 3lb down from last Wednesday so total loss since I started of 5lb so far which is motivating.

Does anyone have one of those portable steppers, like this https://www.decathlon.co.uk/stepper-ms500-purple-id8505066.html?utmm_source=rakutenmarketing&utmmedium=affiliate&utmmsource=RakutenMarketing&utmmedium=Affiliate&utmmcampaign=3354356:RedBrain&utmcontent=15&utmmterm=UKNetwork&ranMID=45219&ranEAID=pfxNKSnglIM&ranSiteID=pfxNKSnglIM-YfgqspcZDm0IoqMS47dyQ

Are they any good? On my travel days for work I easily hit 15,000 steps but on my work at home days I barely hit 2000 so thinking I could step while I read?

BustedDreams · 10/02/2020 16:31

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa that’s a great result!

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 👍 Sorry no I don’t have a stepper. Someone else might be along soon who’ll be more help.

OP posts:
MrsJonesAndMe · 10/02/2020 18:19

Amazing result @WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa

Still here and aiming to eat inside 8 hours, yoga, drink water and being kind to myself.

Will check in with you all, have a good week.
