Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

I try to have small portion and ideally 1/2 a lunch and 1/2 a supper. Thankfully no appetite but not enough exercise/mobility to sleep properly.
The Dr said I could do more stuff than the print out suggests (doing at week 2 what is listed for week 4-6) so I’m confused.
The discomfort is mild, the skin feels “sunburnt” but other than this odd nerve type pain the left ankle is painless. The right feels exactly like it is a healing sprained ankle.
I’m making cards for my crafting group!
Dh has been very good, I’m scared to push him too much but the veggie garden needs planting and I see weeds...in rockery where there should be none...

SunshineCake · 22/04/2020 07:24

Morning all.

Not weighed yet but will when I get up. Still in bed.

We are also using a lot of paper as dh is working from home but his boss dropped off a lack of it so that helps. DS needs lined A4 and I don't have any which is unusual. I put it on the shopping list but dh didn't go upstairs as said non essential. I've told him it is for when he goes this week.

I was due my therapy today. I didn't feel there was anywhere in the house I wouldn't be overheard, and felt I would get distracted in the car, so was ok about waiting. This morning I have woken up feeling stressed about it. I have specific things I really needed to talk about and I keep seeing the notes I made in my phone in my head and I feel it isn't good to have it hanging over me for no one knows how much longer. It must already be 5-6 weeks since my last appointment and I normally go every 2-3 weeks.

I know I need to keep busy.

Hope everyone else is well. Has anyone heard from *@BustedDream? I did *@ her a few days ago and also sent a WhatsApp but I haven't heard back.

Hi all

Working on a huge bid for work while simultaneously dealing with 'mummy can you help me make trousers for barbie from this balloon' or 'buuuutt whhhhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyyy mummmyyyy' might do me in!

Printer ink and paper is in short supply in this house too, school put up a load of worksheets across 11 seperate documents, ran out of paper so got more, then ran out of ink so got more of that, then sat the dearest darling down and she went through all 150+ pages in less than 2 hours so that was a job worth doing.

Turns out the worksheets are standard across the board and set to lowest achievement level so she's finding them too easy. She's a bright little button (although amazingly annoying at the moment) so was 'exceeding expectations' and working on next years stuff at school.

I've decided I give up on school work now. She can do the BBC daily lessons for the next year up and spend the rest of the day playing and that's that.

Weight loss - no clue but guessing I've gained, luckily all my clothes are elasticated and I'm basically living in PJs so no worries there Grin

SunshineCake · 22/04/2020 17:13

I was 1.5 lb down today so that has given me a lift. It helped I was busy yesterday so less time to eat chocolate! Having fish for tea with lots of vegetables and one roast potato Grin. I've done 13762. Steps today. Yay!

fallfallfall · 22/04/2020 18:48

Oh wow sunshine well done!
I’m not risking weight bearing (barefoot) on a scale yet...
tory patience and perseverance are virtues :), good luck!

MrsJonesAndMe · 22/04/2020 20:08

Well done to mini @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 Grin DS is bright, but he just doesn't really want to work. I've found little differentiation too. Spellings, 2 levels of comprehension this week, but giving them the choice of which one to do.

Saying that we got quite a bit done today, so will aim to do as much as we can. My laptop is seconded by DD during the morning - not that I have time to sit down at the moment anyway.

I must have jinxed it @RubySlippers77 because DH hurt my feelings badly on Monday and since then he's done his work and sat and read for hours while I've done 90% of house and kids Hmm Great stuff! We're both blanking the other - I just haven't the energy!

Well done on steps, weight and swerving the temptations @SunshineCake

No word from @BustedDreams, I'm hoping she's OK too.

Sounds uncomfortable still @fallfallfall. Can you ring their secretary to check if you're not sure?

I'm off again, but was nice to touch base lovlies, thanks for the support

fallfallfall · 23/04/2020 00:32

i'm sorry to hear about the household tension, it never helps on the food choice front.
no...he's a specialist out of the main hospital. i see him in 3 weeks. i figure i can fudge it till then...i'll just do less rather than more. the appt in 3 weeks coincides with the physio requisition i've been handed.
no progress on the cards but i video conferenced with a friend who set my mind at ease regarding my knitting project.

Foreverlexicon · 23/04/2020 12:28

I’m still very up and down. Not been able to exercise last last days as my ankle has been twinging but feeling better today so going to do the shred and just take it easy on the cardio moves.

Think I’ve probably been eating okay numbers of calories but some old disordered patterns are coming back in (stress always triggers them) so I’ve emptied my house of trigger foods. Which is sad as is a step back in many ways but equally, id rather stay relatively healthy and if that means avoiding some foods for a while then that’s an okay compromise with me.

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/04/2020 13:11

Thinking of you often @foreverlexicon It must be tough doing this on your own.

We've cleared the air, so feeling marginally better. Period just about to start, DS had an awful night's sleep with hayfever (as did I) so homeschooling was quite traumatic. We stopped, changed tack after a break and got some good stuff done. About to do a bit more.

Sounds like a good compromise to hang on till you see him then @fallfallfall I bet you're itching to get going!

SunshineCake · 23/04/2020 17:45

Hello everyone

Busy day so first chance I have had to check in. Weight same as yesterday but I am happy as it isn't up!

Naughty dog had us up three times in the night but considering that, I am doing okay. I walked her for just over an hour then just before 12 braved Asda. I haven't shopped anywhere for over five weeks so I was a little apprehensive as I drove there. I queued for only 18 minutes to get in and was served very quickly. Couldn't get everything on the list as it wasn't there or no room left in the trolley. In the next three weeks we should only need to go out for milk.

Glad you are feeling better *@MrsJonesAndMe. Hormones are a bugger and they effect me a lot. I'm peri menopausal as well just to add to the fun and I am currently four weeks late.

Really tired but I have had a good and productive day so I am happy. I was making cards before I decided to do the food shop and I am too tired now. I was planning on setting up an online shop to see if anyone wants any as I have too many made really but that is for another day.

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/04/2020 19:56

Sounds productive and very reasonable time frame for shopping these days. I went at about 5:30 the other night to Tesco and went straight in Shock

Tomorrow is a new day, DS and I have made a list of 4 things to do school work wise, so I'm hoping that's manageable for us both.

Yes, hormones indeed Confused Sleep well!

fallfallfall · 24/04/2020 01:52

I’m very new to the card making! Is there a particular company product line you prefer?

SunshineCake · 24/04/2020 08:20

I have no clue what that even means *@fallfallfall!Grin. I buy card magazines which come with bits and then use ideas from there as I have a lot of card and papers and stickers and beads and and and! As my confidence has grown I have come up with ideas myself. My latest is cutting out a candle and a flame in complimentary colours and patterns with a contrasting background. I also have a die cutting machine so have made a few cards with that too.

I'll be making some today as I. Am. Not. Going. Out. Naughty dog woke us up twice again and so I am not taking her out as that is two nights running she has had upset tummy in the night so I need to make sure she hasn't been eating anything she shouldn't. She has a garden, I I'll give her a new toy and she won't be neglected. She will ask to go but I will see how we get on. I can always go this afternoon if she is desperate.

Foreverlexicon · 24/04/2020 11:38

Yesterday’s eating was good and I did the shred although went easy on the cardio as my ankle is still a bit sore.

Been called in to work a random night shift tonight but my food plan means I’ll stick to about 1500 calories between now and going to sleep tomorrow. Getting excited about weighing in on Monday. Guess if there’s one positive from lockdown it’s that I’ve finally made some progress on my weight.

SunshineCake · 24/04/2020 16:57

It is lovely to see you feeling more positive, *@Foreverlexicon.

How is your GMIL?

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 24/04/2020 17:07

Oohhh what are you knitting @fallfallfall

I have a crochet blanket WIP but it's been sidelined, when I get a few minutes (or can get away with being on mute on a long conference call) I'm sewing up scrub hats and uniform bags for my local hospital.

MrsJonesAndMe · 24/04/2020 18:19

Hi all

How did the day go @SunshineCake?

Sounds like you're in the zone @Foreverlexicon

Very creative with card making you lot, as well as knitting and sewing. I am meant to construct a blanket for DS, but just cannot settle with it Hmm

Have a good weekend!

SunshineCake · 24/04/2020 18:59

Hi *@MrsJonesAndMe. I am really tired and feel a bit fed up tearful but had a good day. Made healthy cookies, did a wash load, hoovered up, made lunch for all but one of us, made dinner for all of us, made two or three cards, played with my dog in the garden and also walked her in the end as needed the MH benefits. I was also feeling guilty about her missing out. She was sick a little when we got home so I'm hoping that's the end of her having an upset tummy. I feel she has been a bit quieter this afternoon and early evening. I gave her a new chew stick earlier but she doesn't seem that fussed with it.

RubySlippers77 · 24/04/2020 22:34

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 is it easy to make the bags? I'm not bad at basic sewing (by hand - no machine) but only very simple stuff. I keep busy at the moment repairing the DC's trousers as they rip holes out of the knees on a regular basis... if hospitals are desperate for help I could give it a go. My DC are thoroughly bored by the work set by school - not by the standard as much as they are lazy little toads who need pushing - more because it's in a very boring format and they'd rather do the BBC work and other more exciting apps (which is almost all of them...) Like you, I've decided that as long as they're doing something on each subject then that's ok, we're doing some craft bits too but I really miss being able to take them out to the park and break up the day.

Good luck for Monday's weigh in @Foreverlexicon Smile please send some of your weight loss motivation this way! I don't even get to go for a walk most days and have only been out without the DC to go to the supermarket. I've been to Aldi and to Tesco and both were fine actually - I didn't go till 9pm ish so not busy - but I did get a bit panicky when other people weren't observing social distancing.

Glad to hear you are recovering well and enjoying the card making @fallfallfall!

Hope you are feeling a bit less fed up now @SunshineCake, your day sounds very productive. Fingers crossed your dog isn't up in the night again and that she's all better now.

Aaarrggghhh, sorry to hear about your DH @MrsJonesAndMe! DP is currently snoring loudly in bed, but thankfully he has fallen asleep in the DC's room, I'm hoping he will stay there and then I can have a good night's sleep without him Grin

I do hope @BustedDreams/ @MissDream is doing ok...

fallfallfall · 25/04/2020 01:56

Hello, 4 cards but no knitting.
Card wise I’m trying to find my style, this isn’t quite it. Aiming for classic but not too granny. Lots of tools and techniques to learn. 3 meals..no snacks, but being chairbound the weigh in will be shocking.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 25/04/2020 06:11

@RubySlippers77 the bags are really simple, just 2 rectangles 50x55c,.

Stitch together on 3 sides, then fold over the top to make a channel and use ribbon or cord to make a drawstring. I use a machine so only takes a few minutes to whip together.

Lots of people are using old clean pilllowcases, cutting off the envelope top and using that end to fold over the channel and put the drawstring in.

Im on a local Facebook group that have had hundreds of requests from NHS staff for scrubs, hats, headbands and uniform bags from our local hospitals so we know they're going to people who have asked for them. If you look at 'for the love of scrubs' on Facebook they have a list of hospitals who have made requests.

MrsJonesAndMe · 25/04/2020 12:14

Hi all

Hope that you are feeling better today @SunshineCake and the dog too.

That's nice @fallfallfall I usually spend ages looking for the right card and rare to find one, so making your own is probably a good way around that.

Sounds simple enough, but my sewing skills are none existent @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50

Did he stay put and you sleep well @RubySlippers77 We're OK now and DS's hayfever wasn't quite as bad as the previous 2 nights, so feeling more rested today. I've now walked away from DS's school work. He had 2 things to finish off today and he hasn't Hmm Also wish the school would make the work available in advance - I don't want to have to try and sort his new week's learning while making sure the big one is coping and working all at the same time on Monday morning!

Hope that you're holding up OK @Foreverlexicon

I snacked all day yesterday (pre period starvation mode) and we're having Dominos tonight Blush I really wanted Chinese! but they are shut Sad so we'll have to make do. I really need to have one night off from cooking or even planning and letting DH cook. Even if I have to order and pay!

Catch up with you all later x

SunshineCake · 25/04/2020 18:03

This afternoon I am very pleased to announce that SunshinecakeDoggy slept through!!!!!!!! I woke up very confused when I saw it was 6.25am and I hadn't been out of bed.

I'm just going to waffle.

I've tidied out nearly all the kitchen cupboards, listed all the food we have in the cupboard and baking cupboard, moved the pans and dishes around - kids not happy 😂 and walked the dog. I've made everyone's dinner too.

I may have had wine...

SunshineCake · 25/04/2020 18:09

When this is all over if anyone would like a handmade card let me know. Actually, I could send sooner as we are allowed to the post box.

RubySlippers77 · 25/04/2020 22:25

Thanks for the advice @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50! I joined the Facebook page but my local Trust aren't asking for scrubs at the moment (no idea why as they are perpetually moaning about being underfunded, but there you go) - I'll keep looking.

Ha, DP snored all night @MrsJonesAndMe Grin he didn't even remember going to bed as he'd had a few drinks! I completely agree about the school work (and my DC aren't even in Reception yet) - their teacher is only putting up work for the week on a Sunday night, which doesn't give me much time to research/ print/ dig out craft stuff or desperately go on Pinterest for suggestions before we should be starting it. I left it up to DP to sort out dinner today as like you I was sick of planning, prepping and cooking - he went to the chip shop Hmm

Glad your doggy (and you!) had a good sleep @SunshineCake, what a productive day! Sounds like you're feeling better? I've been making Excel lists of our fridge/ freezer/ cupboard contents too. And on a Saturday night... what have I become?!
