Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

I am due my appointment next week, *@MrsJonesAndMe but dh has said it won't happen. I'm worried the kids will hear me in the bedroom and I'm not sure it would be okay to sit in the en suite. Maybe in the car? I can't decide what is worse, having to do it by Skype or missing it for another three weeks minimum. Haven't been for about five already.

No luck on delivery so dh will go. I'm trying to gate him to wait until we need milk again as a lovely neighbour added a few bits to hers last night also we are okay for those bits for another few days.

MrsJonesAndMe · 18/04/2020 13:43

Sitting in the car sounds a good idea - though a weird thought. What strange times we are in. Or can you send them all on an enforced dog walk with DH and the dog? Lack of space/time alone is certainly an issue for me! I'm used to being on my own one day a week school hours.

Glad to hear you got your bits via the neighbour.

Just been for a walk now things have dried up. Legs ache from having played rugby/football in the park yesterday morning with DS.

Hope everyone else OK x

fallfallfall · 18/04/2020 14:59

Hello everyone,
forever I hope the horseback riding was enjoyable. sunshine the car will work, I don’t understand why your dh says it won’t go ahead though? mrs jones...legs ache be glad...
I braved over 24hs of no meds and didn’t feel much difference from the 1tablet so it might be time to give up the narcotic bit.
I’ve been practicing walking with the walker. And today have a concrete plan to play at card making. My attention span has been poor for 2+ weeks.
Food choices are healthy, but with so little movement I’m scared what the gain will be.
As I’ve whined before DH is a good cook and has a big appetite especially if he’s working the bees.

SunshineCake · 18/04/2020 17:03

Technically the kids should be studying as they are back at school but I think it is either bathroom or car. If they are open I will go to the office as I class it as an essential medical appointment.

Dh thinks because of social distancing

fallfallfall · 18/04/2020 17:06

well if the office is open that's probably the best but i suspect phone or skype is more likely.
but i agree that it is an essential medical appointment.
positive thoughts :) something works out

SunshineCake · 18/04/2020 17:26

Thank you Flowers.

RubySlippers77 · 18/04/2020 22:00

Hope today is going well for you @fallfallfall, and that you enjoyed the card making Smile

I think that all medical appointments are taking place remotely if at all possible @SunshineCake but I agree, very tricky if you can't guarantee privacy. My DC wouldn't care what I said but then wouldn't give me the peace to say it in the first place Hmm

I honestly thought my DP was useful and sensible @MrsJonesAndMe until we had the DC and he turned into the laziest man in the world. He spends 90% of his time at home playing on his phone and snaps at us if we dare to interrupt... he'd park the DC in front of the TV 24/7 if he could. His latest (unendearing) habit is to moan that he's putting on weight and that it must be my cooking - then to eat extra portions of everything that's cooked and have large snacks between too - I mean that's up to him but then he bitches about other people putting on weight Angry

I am really feeling the lack of fresh air and exercise by now, perhaps the lockdown extension has made me rebel unconsciously?!

SunshineCake · 18/04/2020 22:05

It makes me sad to read that *@RubySlippers77 and I really hope you sort your partner out as that is inexcusable. He chose to have kids so he has to parent better.

fallfallfall · 18/04/2020 22:20

dh/partners are funny creatures in a sarcastic way.
decent day so far although no card making yet. everything seems to be happening in half job segments which isn't a very peaceful feeling ie i updated my iphone software BUT i'm struggling to download my photos onto my desktop...
leg wise; my friend bought the arnica lotion and it felt amazing and i was able to trim my toe nails...a true embarrassment with residual nail shelac with sparkles from christmas...i've had no motivation to acetone/aluminum foil the lot...so again a kind of half job.
i'd not be comfy discussing deeply personal stuff with people nearby, even if they didn't hear, i'd get my nosy dh asking why and trying to play therapist...

SunshineCake · 18/04/2020 22:31

Nobody would eaves drop but I know I had a private conversation one time and ds heard. I really hope and think he couldn't hear the words but he could hear me talking. I just wouldn't feel safe.

MustHaveBlankets · 18/04/2020 22:54

Sorry I fell off the thread, I've been a bit of a mess as had some bad news with my father in law and it's breaking my heart that I can't give my mil a hug. Just feel so useless and lost

fallfallfall · 19/04/2020 00:42

Don’t beat yourself must I think most people are understanding that life sometimes gets in the way of online stuff.

Foreverlexicon · 19/04/2020 08:39

@MustHaveBlankets I completely understand that. It’s wretched not being able to support loved ones in the way you want to at the moment.

I’m still very up and down although did feel a bit perkier yesterday. Had a good day with food yesterday and ran 6km and rode the horse. Need to do a food shop today which should motivate me as I’ve got some nice meals planned and my cupboards are currently bare!

MustHaveBlankets · 19/04/2020 10:11

Sorry I was a bit exhausted and dramatic last night, Fil has a blood disease that is making him really poorly but they don't want to start on the meds needed as they will wipe out his immune system and he's already so venerable. They want him to go to the hospital twice a week instead but that's also risky. It's rubbish..

MrsJonesAndMe · 19/04/2020 15:44

Hi all

I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling @MustHaveBlankets it's such a tough situation. Are the ILs shielding then? I'm sure that the medical team will be doing their best to balance all the factors.

@SunshineCake I hope that you are continuing to feel better as the days go on (physically) and I hope that you'll be able to have your appointment in some way.

@fallfallfall that sounds very frustrating. Glad to hear the arnica cream feels good on there.

Good to hear from you @Foreverlexicon. hope you can get the shopping you need.

I've been running around a lot today sorting out cleaning, ironing, exercise with DS and dealing with a hundred requests for food/snacks.

@RubySlippers77 I didn't realise how pants my 1st husband was till I gave birth. I knew I couldn't hack it long term so ended it.

My current DH is wonderful, but I'm even close to wanting to throttle him. 2 days of messing around with his camera and today it's been camera kit being cleaned and packed away and fiddling with DS's bike for ages. Nothing remotely useful bar cooking tea one night and sorting bed times! But it's all hands on deck again from tomorrow as we're both working again and kids need schooling and I know he'll step up.

Eating hasn't been great, but I've stuck to the 16:8 time scales for a few days now and the scales are inching back down. 13.9kg/30.5lbs down currently.

Catch up with you all tomorrow x

SunshineCake · 19/04/2020 16:16

I'm up half a stone since my lowest. Rubbish.

SunshineCake · 19/04/2020 17:54

I've just done about 15 minutes on the exercise bike but had to stop as I started to feel sick. It is a start and tomorrow I will walk my dog. Hopefully there won't be anyone around so she can have a good play. Dh had to carry her part way home today as she didn't want to come home Grin.

MrsJonesAndMe · 20/04/2020 06:31

Hope you feel better today and enjoy the sunshine. Mind it's meant to be windy today. I'm aiming to hit the park at 9AM Hmm

Hope everyone else will have a good day too x

Foreverlexicon · 20/04/2020 08:28

I had a pretty good day yesterday apart from major insomnia which led to some late night snacking. Which is frustrating.

However I weighed and down 1.2lb so I’ve lost about 6lb since lockdown started. Finally into the last stone although I will probably try and lose a little more as a safety blanket.

Hope everyone has a good day!

SunshineCake · 20/04/2020 13:33

Hi all

I was out with the dog for nearly two hours this morning and she still sulked about going home! I was gutted I didn't make 10000 steps but I have now.

I am half a stone up and hate myself. Finding it hard to eat as I should.

Today I have made soup. I followed a recipe but tweeted it slightly. It had mixed peppers, celery, garlic, sweet corn, leeks, mussels and scallops along with a small roast potato and a spoonful of mash, both leftovers. I also made apple and mincemeat rock cakes.

I was hoping to do some weeding today but I am shattered so I will try tomorrow as I don't think pushing to do more than I feel able to is sensible. I was awake in the night with chest pains. I will try and go in the bike later.

Hope you are all well. Take care.

MrsJonesAndMe · 20/04/2020 21:01

Oh please don't be so hard on yourself - it was only a week or so ago you were bed bound - quite literally through illness. Your body has worked so hard to get you back on your feet, it will take a while to get back on an even keel. Can you focus on nourishing? The soup sounds great.

Easy for me to say, I'm my own worst critic. Failure as a mother here, so you're not alone Hmm

Hope you sleep better @Foreverlexicon and well done on your loss.

SunshineCake · 20/04/2020 22:23

I just feel so hungry and don't know why as I did eat while in bed, albeit smaller portions. Dh is nagging me to start having breakfast again but then I'd have to do 17:7 and it would feel like a long evening without anything to eat.

The soup was delicious. Dinner was salmon, new potatoes, chargrilled sprouts, winter veg and sweet corn. An hour ago I had toast and marmite. I'm worrying the weight going in because I am eating what I want instead of avoiding the stuff I was intolerant too. But the test was months ago and I know from experience that I can be intolerant, don't eat it then at the next test I am fine to eat it again.

I did 1.5 hours in the garden so hoping something will have come off.

Good evening.

MrsJonesAndMe · 21/04/2020 21:36

Hi, how is everyone? I've only just sat down. Just trying to sort DS's home learning and we're already 2 days behind when we get up tomorrow. And sooooo much paper Angry Just ridiculous!

I've eaten breakfast at 8 today and when I was trying to look through all his stuff at 7pm I was eating Nougat and drinking Coke, so don't feel bad @SunshineCake yours sound angelic in comparison!

Thinking of you all @fallfallfall @Foreverlexicon @RubySlippers77 @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 and @MustHaveBlankets I'm about ready to crash, will check in with you tomorrow x

SunshineCake · 21/04/2020 22:41

I resisted crisps! Realised I was eating them because I was fed up/sad. Doggy not happy as she loves them but they stayed in the cupboard. Just remembered I had two squares I'd chocolate when I came up to bed but never mind, still did better than it could have been!

RubySlippers77 · 21/04/2020 23:23

@MustHaveBlankets sorry to read about your FIL. Awful in any circumstances but especially now Sad my DB is in a similar situation - he has a serious form of anaemia and needed a treatment called ATG - it was all scheduled when the lockdown started and now the hospital have decided that the treatment might be worse for him than just monitoring him and doing blood transfusions if necessary. No idea how long they can do that for, I think they're hoping that things will improve shortly and they can start the treatment after all.

Glad you had a lovely walk with your dog @SunshineCake and that you have your appetite back! Your meals sound yummy; I had to go food shopping this evening and managed to stock up on fruit & veg. They had DTS1's favourite ice cream too so he will be happy Grin

Oh the paper we have gone through @MrsJonesAndMe!! My DTs are still little so although they do do some bits on the computer, a lot of it is things for them to practise writing/ colouring/ games, which means I have to print it. My printer is in shock, it's never been so busy! Glad to hear that your DH will step up when it's needed (and that you got rid of XH when he didn't!) - I asked DP to finish a bit of washing up and clean the worktops and kitchen table whilst I was out at the supermarket. Do you think he did it?!

Good news about your weight loss @Foreverlexicon, I hope it's giving you something to concentrate on as well as enjoying your horse riding and running. I haven't dared step on the scales Shock
