Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

DD is going bright red and I am going purple. Not bothered about grey hairs I just dye my hair as it quite often goes orangey after a while and I can't bare the orange! Thought I might as well have a bit of fun since we are all indoors Smile.

MrsJonesAndMe · 16/04/2020 13:53

Hope it went well.

My aim today is to eat within the window - sounds easy, but I've let it slide again recently.

How is everyone else?

RubySlippers77 · 16/04/2020 13:56

I haven't seen my natural hair colour for many years. Much prefer it lighter than mid brown! Let us know how it goes @SunshineCake Smile if I was a bit braver (and had access to hair dye and some time to do it!) I'd love to try a mermaid colour!

Had a very energetic day yesterday - plenty of gardening, trip to the pharmacy, did the food shopping - and am exhausted again today Sad DTS1 has been 'challenging' to say the least - constant moaning, hitting, breaking things - and I just want to lock myself away somewhere peaceful for a few hours and not have to referee arguments/ help them do a wee/ make dinner. Aaarrrggghhh.

Your food looks very yummy @fallfallfall!

RubySlippers77 · 16/04/2020 14:00

Hope the shopping went well @MrsJonesAndMe! I went at 9pm yesterday and the supermarket was reasonably well stocked apart from a few things I didn't think they'd have anyway (flour, frozen veg, cleaning products) - I imagine they go as soon as they're put on the shelves!

Really am very tearful today - no idea why as I was ok yesterday - but every time I get one thing tidied, the DC have made a mess with another three, it's never ending...

SunshineCake · 16/04/2020 14:16

I think dds hair looks great but she's moaning a bit. Apparently more bright on the top than the rest and I missed some. I've offered to buy her another box, we used two, but she's said she's fine in that way I know means shut up about it.

I'm sat in the bathroom with my hair dye on and regretting it. If it is awful I'll order a colour or cut it off.

I have planted kale and pea seeds as well as chrysanthemums and geranium seeds, started tidying in the bedroom, made a card for Captain Tom and had homemade veg soup.

How old are your twins, *@RubySlippers77? I am grateful mine are all teenagers during this time but worried for their education. Don't worry about tidying if you can leave it a day or so.

MrsJonesAndMe · 16/04/2020 20:15

Sending a (((hug))) @RubySlippers77 It is hard at the moment without adding in possible SN too.

Shopping went well. I've got plain flour, SR flour and bread flour and dried pasta & passata! Only thing is the oven died on Monday, so can't really bake bar Welsh cakes and pancakes, so guess that's the plan for the next few days.

I have managed to do 15hrs fasting and 6 hours eating to get myself back into my proper window, but I'm hungry now. Teeth brushed, standing firm!

I'm sure your hair and DD's is fine @SunshineCake. Sounds like you've had a busy day. How is your chest/tiredness now?

Waves @fallfallfall hope recovery is going well.

fallfallfall · 16/04/2020 21:04

Bored to exhaustion! Highlight so far; I’ve folded laundry...next after a rest with my legs up I may tackle DUSTING....dh away tending his hives. Supper will be lettuce wraps. Day all planned out and it’s only 1pm.

SunshineCake · 16/04/2020 22:20

Today I have felt much more myself apart from a slight panic this morning when my nose started running and that was now my illness started before. Hasn't developed so hoping I'm properly on the end.

Hair looks good. DS wants to dye his now but only brown.

A lovely neighbour offered to add to her shopping being delivered tomorrow so if she's able to get us some milk we can last until Tuesday at least, depends on how much milk she can order really. DH said I was cheeky asking for a couple of baking bits too so I hope I haven't committed a faux pas in front of my other neighbour and friend. If I was offering to add a neighbours shopping I wouldn't mind what they asked for tbh.

fallfallfall · 16/04/2020 23:06

of course a good neighbor friend won't care what it is your in need of.
i asked a friend, to find me some arnica cream (i gather it has some healing properties for the bruising). dh was really out of his comfort zone in the pharmacy.
i actually walked a few steps (like 10) with my walker!! dh would be cross as he specifically told me to stay put while he was away...

RubySlippers77 · 16/04/2020 23:14

Glad your hair is looking good @SunshineCake! Your DD's reaction made me think of all the many hours I used to spend with those triangular boxes of Harmony hair colour, which instead of the desired colour only ever used to turn my hair a bit orange Grin

I can't see an issue with you adding two or three bits to your neighbour's order? If you'd come out with a list as long as your arm then maybe that would be cheeky, but milk and (for example) flour and eggs should be fine - even assuming that the shop have any!

I do think it's a lovely idea to send cards to Captain Tom, might get the DC to do it if we can ever get any stamps. They are 4.5yo and just hard work in general really; can't occupy themselves for long, need watching all the time, don't give me a minute's peace etc etc. And that's before the squabbling!! Separately they would be much more enjoyable but together...

Thank you for the hugs @MrsJonesAndMe! I am super jealous of your flour purchases. Can you get your oven fixed? There are a few repairers working round here still - we had to get a chap out to fix a boiler leak last weekend - bit of a pain but at least the weather was ok so we could all go in the garden whilst he was in the house.

Hope the recovery continues to go well @fallfallfall!

fallfallfall · 16/04/2020 23:19

Ruby how hard it is to get basics? i've not asked my daughter lately. she too mentioned flour and eggs.

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/04/2020 06:37

@fallfallfall it seems patchy - but things look better than last week. Whole shelf full of toilet roll so I could get Andrex I normally buy rather than just whatever is there

Arnica is good for bruising.

I'm sure your neighbour wouldn't mind at all to help @SunshineCake I certainly would for others.

We've ordered an element, just waiting for it to arrive. Luckily DH is very handy and provided that's the problem it should be fixed quickly.

When you combine 2 children it's often when the problems start! Got luck @RubySlippers77

SunshineCake · 17/04/2020 07:42

*@RubySlippers77 I am happy to PM you Toms address if you'd like? Well, the address to use! His birthday is April 30th .

Weight wise I put the two pounds back on Confused. So hoping it is now because I have given up in the avoid certain intolerance foods thing as I did for ages and now don't have any symptoms when I eat them. Except weight gain?!

SunshineCake · 17/04/2020 07:48

Hoping it is NOT.

Foreverlexicon · 17/04/2020 08:40

I’ve had a couple of bad days but hovering around the same weight.
Massive pity party yesterday on my first day of reserve. Today, I’m trying to be a bit more positive.

House needs a good tidy and I’m going to go for a run and actually ride the horse.

SunshineCake · 17/04/2020 11:40

Just back from a long walk with my dog and I've got home made vegetable soup for lunch. Ds is making chicken for dinner. Fed up weight wise but I think I need to ignore it tbh. Mentally it isn't going to help.

Hope everyone else is okay.

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/04/2020 14:00

I think you need to focus on health for a while @SunshineCake

You can do it @Foreverlexicon Hope the horse ride/run does the trick to give you a boost.

I'm on course to stick to 16:8 today, but lets not fuss too much about the chocolate and pop corn that's been consumed! (In my defence, doing painting and maths with a stroppy 7yo warrants it)

SunshineCake · 17/04/2020 17:33

I think you are right, as usual *@MrsJonesAndMe. . I am trying to do 16:8 ish as that is more doable than calories. I'm just so hungry some times. Ds is making dinner and I'm worried he won't make enough as he only got out one pack of chicken and there is five of us to eat

SunshineCake · 17/04/2020 17:59

Worried over nothing. He had got out another pack of chicken and we all had enough to eat. Was delicious. I am definitely feeling more hungry and I don't really know why. I was out for two hours with my dog this morning but other than that I have only been pottering about. Missed breakfast and lunch was homemade veg soup and home mad sour dough bread.

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/04/2020 19:43

I think your system is catching up after your illness when you weren't hungry. 16:8 is doable. What did he make with the chicken? We eat a lot of chicken! Risotto tonight, it was delicious. I've never made sour dough.

Closed my eating window in just under 8 hours, so happy with that. Took my vitamins, did my yoga, shower, shave and teeth brushed Halo Wink

SunshineCake · 17/04/2020 19:50

It was a sticky chicken with rice.

I'm wanting to comfort eat. Dh has worked 8-5.30, stopped for tea and has been doing DIY since. Feeling quite tearful that we'll get no time to watch a program together or even have more than a minute together. I'm so tired as it is so it isn't helping.

MrsJonesAndMe · 18/04/2020 06:32

Sounds delicious. I'm guessing he has a lot of work to catch up with? Hopefully he can stop now it's the weekend so you can have a bit of time together.

RubySlippers77 · 18/04/2020 11:06

@SunshineCake I hope your DH managed to sit down with you for a bit and that you're feeling better today! I imagine that eating more is your body's way of letting you know that you're on the mend and will be doing more every day Smile just please take it easy too, get plenty of rest.

@fallfallfall it's very tricky to get flour, eggs, cleaning stuff and tinned/ frozen food here. The shops are doing a brilliant job of restocking as often as they can but obviously some things are going as soon as they hit the shelves! DP managed to get some flour yesterday in a small local shop - it's a more expensive type but we were grateful to get any.

Hope you enjoyed your horse ride @Foreverlexicon and cutting yourself a bit of slack is fine!!

@MrsJonesAndMe DP used to eat a lot of chicken - he has gout so isn't supposed to eat red meat - doesn't like pork - gets away with a bit of bacon/ sausage but doesn't like turkey. He told me he was bored with chicken and wanted to eat something else that met his dietary requirements. I pointed out that there wasn't any other meat which did but if he thought of something let me know and I'll get it. Still waiting Hmm

SunshineCake · 18/04/2020 11:42

*@MrsJonesAndMe he does have lots to catch up on but I didn't expect him to go back and start doing full days immediately.

Dh and I did talk, *@RubySlippers77, but he thought I was carrying on arguing and being negative so it took time plus having to tell him stuff from my childhood. We then watched tv and we are okay now.

Had an hours walk with the dog and now I'm just pottering and doing housework. I'm also checking online trying to get a delivery slot for food.

Hello to *@BustedDreams. Hope you're okay. Did you get my WhatsApp?

MrsJonesAndMe · 18/04/2020 12:08

Morning you lot

I'm glad you've cleared the air a bit @sunshinecake. Have you contemplated resuming your counselling in a virtual form? I hate video and phone calls enough when it's just my mum/dad, so would find it impossible to do something as emotional as counselling on the phone really. Sending you a (((hug)))

Ah, he sounds like he has no idea @RubySlippers77 I'm really lucky (2nd time round, but got there in the end) that DH is very useful and sensible. He cooked last night which makes nice change though he's spent about 8 hours in the last two days trying to take a photo of a water drop Hmm
