Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

I hope you've had a relaxing day @SunshineCake - it would have been really helpful for them to test you for CV in the hospital but I'm guessing they weren't able to? I'd like a test myself - if they'd been rolled out to Boots etc I'd definitely have bought one - would actually be a relief if I'd had it after feeling rough for a fortnight now. Have you tried Rescue Remedy for anxiety? You can have a few drops directly or in a drink. (Boots sell lots of aromatherapy bits too if you find they help). Either way, please look after yourself and take it easy, glad you have your DH there to keep you fed!

Well done on your 1lb off @MustHaveBlankets! Such a difficult time at the moment - maybe the lovely sunshine will encourage us all to lose a few lb.

@MrsJonesAndMe we've been planting seeds in egg boxes, plastic containers, any plant pots we can find really! I went for mainly flowers last year but this year am going for fruit & veg, not because I think we can be self sufficient but even last year's crop helped. And the DC aren't even keen on going for their daily walk at the moment - I think because I have to keep bellowing at reminding them to move away from people, stop touching things etc - they'd rather play in the garden.

@Foreverlexicon sending you good wishes and hope work is keeping you busy in a good way!

I’m too unstable to stand, my left leg is in a back slab and tensor cast (which will stay in place till the 14). No hope of getting an accurate weight.
Pain remains tolerable in both legs. I enjoyed a long shower this morning, did dishes and prepped supper (1/2 spaghetti squash and 1/2 oriental noodles, green beans with honey ginger sauce. Gotta be low cal and high fiber??
I’m napping mid day daily. I’m sure partially out of boredom.
Unmotivated to decode my next set of knitting instructions.

SunshineCake · 07/04/2020 06:45

Today I will get up, have a shower, dh will change the bed and my goal is to write a note and tidy my dressing table. Feeling upset that even after everything some of my children aren't pulling their weight never mind doing extra. The boys are great. The girl will do what is asked but dh and I want her to not need asking all the time. I'm stopping them all leaving the kitchen before everything is cleared away after meals once I am downstairs againSadAngry. They are good kids but grrrrr.

MrsJonesAndMe · 07/04/2020 07:03

Morning all

That sounds like a good plan @sunshinecake. Clean sheets will be lovely. We have trained ours to clear their plates into the dishwasher, but neither of them really have chores beyond putting their own clothes in the wash and making their beds. Getting them both to do baking and help with cooking.

That's a great result that will hopefully spur you on @MustHaveBlankets I'm holding steady through my period and lock down and baking, so pretty impressed with myself!

Ah @RubySlippers77 it's probably better for everyone if they're in the garden, but maybe for your sanity go for a walk by yourself when they're in bed/DH home from work? We've managed to be quite lucky in that there's a field very sparsely used where we can go and play a bit. DS is very good with the new rules now and coming back and washing hands straight away.

Your body will need that rest @fallfallfall and your meal sounds delicious.

Will check in with you later!

Foreverlexicon · 07/04/2020 07:47

I’m doing good. I haven’t lost weight since I hopped on the scales a few days ago but given I’ve lost 4lb in 2.5 weeks, I’m fine with that.

I grazed on too much junk on my first night shift but beyond that I’m doing good. It’s been a stressful end to the set, very busy and one of my colleagues got rammed by a car and needed to go to hospital with some nasty injuries which was horrendous. My mood is pretty low, I’m off until Saturday now and I just feel blah.

SunshineCake · 07/04/2020 08:07

I need to weigh but I'm sure I'm up. I'm 12 days late with my period plus been in bed for 13 so it's not going to be down, is it? Sad.

SunshineCake · 07/04/2020 08:09

Hope your colleague is better very soon, *@Foreverlexicon Sad.

Well done *@[MustHaveBlankets.

*@fallfallfall take care !

MrsJonesAndMe · 07/04/2020 21:25

Goodness @Foreverlexicon I hope they're OK.

You don't have to weigh @SunshineCake just concentrate on getting better. How did your day go?

We've had a good day. A walk, some yoga, food - lots of it, but hopefully reasonably good and some experiments with the little one.

Check in with you all tomorrow.

SunshineCake · 07/04/2020 21:33

Rubbish day mentally/emotionally. Not all linked to feeling ill.

Stressing me I can't have my therapy appointment as normal and not comfortable about doing it by Skype.

fallfallfall · 08/04/2020 03:47

Would phone with no visual be more comfortable sunshine?
Hard to say if my food choices are good enough to compensate for full time sitting or laying in bed.
But pain (which I don’t really have much of) was well controlled. I actually enjoyed an ice pack on my weak ankle.

SunshineCake · 08/04/2020 06:33

No fall, we've already discussed how I would struggle with on the phone. It is about two weeks until my appointment so I will have to see if the lock down is extended for another three weeks as I expect it will be. I would argue very strongly this is a necessary medical appointment.

I'm struggling a lot mentally with the thought of going downstairs. When I went down yesterday I felt like it wasn't my house anymore and have felt for a few days I don't belong.

MrsJonesAndMe · 08/04/2020 07:25

That sounds very tough @sunshinecake and I don't know what to suggest.

Glad to hear it's better than expected pain wise @fallfallfall

SunshineCake · 08/04/2020 07:34

45 minutes ago I was in the bathroom and really felt like I just needed to get out of the house with my dog. I was told to keep SI but tbh I don't know why as I've been in the house for 21 days, they say my lungs are clear, wouldn't test me and we are allowed a walk.

It's not just being ill , and I'm ok with being in, but my MH is bad for other reasons today and by past experience it won't end well or be easy.

MrsJonesAndMe · 08/04/2020 11:32

I don't want to tell you what to do, but I can understand your feeling of wanting to go out. Maybe you can go with DH so you're not alone. I'm just worried that you'd go and then collapse!

Thinking of you

SunshineCake · 08/04/2020 13:38

Thank you for caring. I would love to go with dh when he walks the dog soon but I don't think I am allowed out at all. I just don't understand the point of sending me home, doctor saying I have clear lungs, nurse saying I might have it so stay in seven days, as it all seems to contradict itself.

MrsJonesAndMe · 08/04/2020 20:50

I guess that's the problem is no one knows because we've not dealt with it. Do you still have a fever?

SunshineCake · 08/04/2020 22:06

No and I never did. Even when taking my temperature as soon as I felt hot it was never anything but 35 something or 36 something. Still coughing a bit and very tired though. Headaches often too.

MrsJonesAndMe · 09/04/2020 13:24

Can you get DH or one of the teens to research when you're not infectious any more?

Hope that today will be better. Maybe sit out in the garden - nice and sunny here.

MrsJonesAndMe · 09/04/2020 13:27

How are you doing @MustHaveBlankets?

SunshineCake · 09/04/2020 17:00

Don't anyone faint! Except for lying down for an hour at half two I have been downstairs all day! I have done some bits in the kitchen, too much tbh so no more now.

Still breathless with back (lung?) pain and chest pain but I feel so much better while not feeling 100%.

Really looking forward to dinner. Chicken, leeks, onions, carrots, parsnips, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, sliced peppers and garlic slices with new potatoes on the side.

fallfallfall · 09/04/2020 17:10

well well well how cool is that sunshine!
i'm really enjoying ice packs on my weak ankle :), and am just about to try the crutches!
no supper plans yet, i'll review what's in the fridge or freezer.

MrsJonesAndMe · 09/04/2020 17:34

Well done @SunshineCake

How did you get on @fallfallfall?

We've had chilli and rice. It's our anniversary and were meant to go eat Moroccan, but nevermind. Have Eton mess and bubbly for later when kids quiet Wink
