Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

I'm on day 16 of coughing and day nine of being in bed, *@MrsJonesAndMe.

You take care!

MrsJonesAndMe · 03/04/2020 09:31

Oh that's not great is it @SunshineCake. How are you today? Staying in bed I hope.

They look great @fallfallfall We have one small patch and no talent. Going to sew some lettuce and rocket seeds tomorrow - just in little pots for the window sill - then I can water them easily and keep them pest free.

Off for a quick walk now - don't want to because it's cold and I've spent 16 days walking the same streets now, so thoroughly bored, but I know how much like a spoilt brat I sound, so doing it regardless.

Feel a bit less broken this morning than I expected, but tonight's yoga will be very gentle indeed.

Catch up with you all later x

Foreverlexicon · 03/04/2020 10:12

Whether work helps depends on my mood Grin mostly it’s good, I actually see people and it keeps me busy but on a bad day I find it difficult - it seems strange to just be carrying on as normal, still having to care about and act on minor offences feels strange when the rest of my life is falling apart around me.

I’ve been getting very light headed from struggling to eat enough. I’m loving the weight loss that’s coming with it but trying to at least sip smoothies and stuff to get enough calories in to keep my energy up.

MustHaveBlankets · 03/04/2020 13:01

I've slipped up and stuffed my face at lunch, huge baguette crisps and loads of chocolate... going to have to try and do something this afternoon to make up for it, kids aren't feeling it today though and want to stay in front of the telly.

Really missing the hour I get child free on Fridays Sad booooo

MustHaveBlankets · 03/04/2020 13:03

Sorry should have read before I posted, I clearly have nothing to moan about considering what some of you are going through.. sorry..

SunshineCake · 03/04/2020 16:38

Hi *@MrsJonesAndMe, still in bed. MIL said good sign I'm fed up. Normally I'd let it go that she hasn't understood me but I replied not a good sign when I think it won't end well when I can't breathe properly. Not heard from her since.

Dh wants me to go downstairs tonight but I said no. Said I feel safe in my bed. Feel like I felt after I reacted badly to a general anaesthetic when it took me 45 minutes to leave the bedroom dh told me to go to my favourite shop so I did but walked in and took four steps then cam straight home.

Feel really unsure I'll come out of this okay.

*@MustHaveBlankets your worries are your worries and no less valid than anyone else's.

fallfallfall · 03/04/2020 17:19

I’m sorry to hear your struggling sunshine.
I’m partially afraid I’ll develop an embolism or have picked up the virus in hospital.
Subsequently my answer to the embolus issue is to not rest and push myself...like doing odd range of motion exercises at 0300.

MrsJonesAndMe · 03/04/2020 19:39

@MustHaveBlankets that hour must be very precious and you're allowed to moan about it. I normally have 9-3 during term time on a Friday and I'm certainly missing it!

Draw a line and tomorrow is a new day!

I get what you mean @Foreverlexicon. Thank you for keeping going! Please try and look after yourself as you'll be no good to anyone if you get weak and ill (least of all yourself)

(((hugs))) @SunshineCake does your breathing feel better, worse or the same as when they saw you at hospital?

You take care too @fallfallfall

Absolutely nothing to report here apart from my period showing up - fun times Hmm

SunshineCake · 04/04/2020 08:46

Hello

Feeling a bit better , except for hot and headache, but emotionally feel I can't leave the room. Feel too scared to. I want to get up and go and weed the garden but dh said no, sit on the sofa for a change of scenery. I feel like I would have to force myself rather then feeling like I want to or can.

MrsJonesAndMe · 04/04/2020 14:38

Physically that's progress. Reasonably sunny here now. Can you open the windows and at least feel a bit of sun? Maybe leave it a few more days before you venture out.

Been out for our exercise, been in the garden sowing a few seeds and baked some bread. Not great for the waistline, but good for the soul.

How are you @fallfallfall, @Foreverlexicon and @MustHaveBlankets?

fallfallfall · 04/04/2020 15:48

Hello, I’ve done well on the food choices and dh who really loves food has been understanding with my half portion requests!
On the 14th I have my first ortho appointment, I’ll need to be getting around on something other than my computer rolling chair...the pain is manageable.
Sunshine positive thoughts you feel well enough today to have a little venture into another room, maybe at the kitchen table for meals?
MrsJones, my dh has really mastered his new flour mix!! Organic Spelt :), mixed in with the white flour.

SunshineCake · 04/04/2020 16:06

Hello

Dh messaged and said he was missing me and suggested I sit on the garden bench. I got out of bed before I had time to fret and sat outside for an hour. My dog was so excited to see me and ran straight up to me and leapt into my arms I am really tired again and had to come in as felt breathless. I'll stay in bed again but tomorrow I will aim for lunch at the kitchen table. To be frank though, I am not choosing to stay in my room I am just too tired to move.

*@MrsJonesAndMe my herbs were forgotten so have got sunburnt but I am constantly asking dh and ds to sow some food seeds and plant a potato to grow more. Fresh bread has been my pick me up this past eleven days.

MrsJonesAndMe · 04/04/2020 16:06

Glad to hear the pain is manageable

MustHaveBlankets · 05/04/2020 18:59

Evening, I had a day off yday and stuffed my face but have been back on it today so not feeling bad about it, went on a family bike ride today and I didn't realise just how unfit I am! I also lost a shoe and fell off whilst trying to back up to get back to where my shoe was and hurt my hand and hit my head when I landed Blush

We spent the rest of the afternoon making a maze for the tortoise out of mega blocks Grin

MrsJonesAndMe · 05/04/2020 20:20

Oh no @MustHaveBlankets hope that you're OK - bet it's going to hurt more tomorrow.

I've done a yoga for stress video, so how did she end up making us do planks and crunches and sit ups (though she doesn't call them crunches and sit ups) - not many, but enough that I can feel my abs now.

I also ate too much yesterday, but today more in control 7 1/2 hour eating window.

Hope you are OK @fallfallfall @SunshineCake and @Foreverlexicon

fallfallfall · 05/04/2020 20:28

Just listening to the queens speech (x2) It’s undoubtably more pleasant than listening to our prime minister and the reporters who ask really annoying questions.

SunshineCake · 05/04/2020 20:31

Hi
Back from hospital
Hope you are all ok

MrsJonesAndMe · 06/04/2020 06:44

Oh no @SunshineCake hope you got some rest. Were they able to do something for you?

SunshineCake · 06/04/2020 07:51

I wasn't tested as my lungs were clear. I had bloods done in case of heart attack too. Nurse said everyone presents differently and I may still have it, or develop it but without a test it all seems a waste of time. I could have been tested and then we'd all know where we are. Doctor thinks I might have anxiety as he couldn't come up with any other reason why I am having so much pain. Any tips for anxiety would be good please as I'm on paracetamol for pain, Kalms for potential anxiety, another day in bed and feel terrified every time I can't breathe properly.

MrsJonesAndMe · 06/04/2020 14:35

Yoga with Adrienne does some alternate nostril breathing which helps to calm breathing down, but I don't know how much good that is for asthmatics.

I crochet and have in the past done colouring to distract me. Both could be done in bed.

Flowers Flowers

SunshineCake · 06/04/2020 15:49

I got up earlier to put a stamp on a card and then have had to sit for an hour Sad. I can manage about fifteen minutes reading my iPad before I have had enough though I've just read four posts, typed this and feel tired. On paracetamol all day for headaches and still have chest pain and the headache is back very quickly. This is so not like me. I'm normally constantly on the go. I haven't walked my dog for three weeks, I'm not feeling sorry for myself but I am feeling like I can't see when I'll be better when I don't know what is wrong with me. Thank you.

fallfallfall · 06/04/2020 16:00

Oh sunshine the unknown does sound difficult. How are you doing with fluids, being dehydrated can give you headaches. Are you opening up the windows and getting some air circulation? Anything new in the environment (carpets or paint) that you might be sensitive to?
Yesterday I had chocolate, but meals are half portion. Steak for supper, protein must be helpful?? I’m NOT eating sardines...but want to eat healthy healing foods.

SunshineCake · 06/04/2020 17:19

The windows are open most of the day and I always have a drink on the go, plus regular hot honey and lemon. I've been off my food since last Sunday and I am only eating because dh is making me and because I know I won't get better with no food. My blood pressure was much to low in hospital so that made me eat a sandwich. I has has very low blood sugars too when the paramedic came even though I had had a fruit salad for breakfast.

Tests showed I am intolerant to pet hair but I have had pets for over twenty five years and they have never set off my asthma. Nothing else has changed in the last three weeks other than not leaving the house.

I'm not sure how similar sardines and mackerel are but my kids used to eat tinned mackerel on toast when small and they now enjoy ready cooked mackerel fillets.

MrsJonesAndMe · 06/04/2020 18:19

People seem to be ill with this (whether it's Covid or not) on the Lungs on fire threads for weeks! Really don't know what else to suggest.

I'm sure protein will help @fallfallfall How is the pain levels now?

Been OK today. Food shop, cleaned the whole house, made granola and jam tarts. Eating window closed after 7 1/2 hours and will do some yoga in a minute.

How are you doing @MustHaveBlankets? Still going @Foreverlexicon? I hope you are managing to eat.

MustHaveBlankets · 06/04/2020 19:45

Thats sounds so awful I hope you feel better soon @SunshineCake

I managed to lose a lb! Happy with that but will aim for 2 next week, I'm usually yo yo-ing about a stone lighter than I am now and the extra weight has really made a difference to my face and chins!

Went for another bike ride today and my 10 year old asked to make it a daily thing so suits me!
