Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

I'm just having a sit down as I've done some housework and are feeling knackered and in pain now. How are you ?

MustHaveBlankets · 10/04/2020 11:18

That's great it sounds like you've turned a corner sunshine!

All ok here except for dh using holiday so instead of him being tucked away at his desk he's under my feet and annoying!

We've been enjoying our daily bike rides and I've been really good with my calories but dh just went out for emergency bread and came home with wine so not sure it will stay that way!

MrsJonesAndMe · 10/04/2020 15:42

Be careful @SunshineCake it's easy to overdo as you've probably got a lot to catch up on now.

Oh well @MustHaveBlankets, moderation is key. Can you have one glass?

Had a bit of a quieter day - washing only just ready to go up as we stripped our bed, washed a duvet (inner), ran a service wash and now onto the washing. Played a bit of tennis, made granola, fed everyone a different lunch and now about to do pasta for tea with Eton mess for after.

Braving the shop tomorrow and just hope that with the BH weekend everyone else did it yesterday or today! Want to get ice cream as now you just can't run into a shop to grab some and tomorrow is meant to be even warmer!

Hope you're OK @Foreverlexicon haven't heard from you in a few days.

SunshineCake · 10/04/2020 17:19

I will try and do very little tomorrow as it is still wiping me out even if I do only one or two things.

fallfallfall · 10/04/2020 21:49

i've got more energy today, it's 1:48 and i'm really trying to avoid eating lunch. as i spend all day sitting...

SunshineCake · 10/04/2020 21:59

Count to 100 and if you're still hungry have some lemon water.

MrsJonesAndMe · 11/04/2020 08:04

Morning all

I hope you did eat something. Can you just have some soup maybe?

Off to do the food shop in a bit. Hope it goes smoothly. Finding it stressful and exhausting - not to mention expensive. I'm sure we're not spending more, if anything saving on eating out/coffees out, but because it's in one big hit, it feels bad!

Check in with you all later x

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 11/04/2020 17:22

Hello all, sorry lost this thread for a while.

Haven't weighed for a couple of weeks, between WFH meaning I barely get any exercise and eating everything I see, I know I've gained.

Honestly I'm in survival mode at the moment, just trying to get through each day with my sanity still intact.

DH and I are both WFH while schooling/entertaining a 5 yr old. My workload is increasing constantly and would have been impossible to achieve in a normal 8 hr day before all this. Now it means I start work at 8am and turn the computer off at 10/11pm and try to get as much done as possible between random crafting, maths worksheets and watching a tazmanian devil run circles of the garden.

So weight loss is on the back burner which is a shame but I just don't have the mental capacity to think about it at the moment.

Glad you're feeling better @SunshineCake and so sorry for everything you're going through and all your aches and pains @Foreverlexicon

SunshineCake · 11/04/2020 17:48

I think we should repurpose this thread as a support and chat one and only do whatever weight loss efforts we want too. I'm still not right and my main aim is to try not to eat all the chocolate in one go and rest more.

MrsJonesAndMe · 11/04/2020 21:04

Hi @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling. It's been uhm interesting here too, but not as much pressure by the sounds of things and both off for the holidays.

Feel free to vent/post as you see fit. I'm eating too much and the wrong stuff, but hey ho!

Wishing you all a happy, peaceful and healthy Easter Sunday (especially the broken ones @SunshineCake and @fallfallfall)

fallfallfall · 11/04/2020 22:48

Thanks ladies, I’m tearful.
Dh helped me to the bathroom, pulling up my pants I nearly tipped over...he’s going to buy me a walker. A WALKER, I’m 62 fit and very healthy...a horrible blow to the ego...yes I’ve eaten a slice of pie...but my rolling chair is 10ft away (totally out of reach) so the peanuts in the pantry are safe. And maybe the walker will improve my mobility and maybe it will be better in the short/long term 😔

SunshineCake · 11/04/2020 22:58

Wrap yourself in cotton wool now and you'll be back to fighting fit sooner. Don't rush the recovery.

MrsJonesAndMe · 12/04/2020 07:16

Oh sweetheart, that does sound tough. Do you have crutches as a compromise?

Happy Easter all, though it seems strange to be saying it at all Sad

Foreverlexicon · 12/04/2020 08:47

It’s been a bad few days for me. Emotionally and food wise. Just struggling being alone all the time and struggling with not knowing when I’ll be able to see my partner again, doing a rubbish job of supporting her through this because I’m hurting so much myself. Which I then feel guilty about. Completely binged on Easter chocolate the last 2 days.

Fresh start today. I’m on a late shift, I’m just having coffee then going for a run and a quick ride on the horse. 4 more shifts before I have 24 days off on reserve and I’m not sure how I feel about that.

SunshineCake · 12/04/2020 13:06

We are all doing great. We are listening to our emotions and feeding them the only way we can.

Dh bought me an Easter egg and tomorrow I am allowed out for the first time in nearly four weeks and will walk my dog.

I'm up a few pounds. It really doesn't matter. A week ago I thought I wouldn't go home.

Be kind to yourself.

MrsJonesAndMe · 12/04/2020 16:00

Very sensible words @SunshineCake Report back on your walk. I'm sure the dog will be so happy!

Sending you (((hugs))) @Foreverlexicon just do the best you can. No one can ask more than that.

Chocolate, ice cream, bread etc consumed and about to do home made pizza. Oh well! I'm really grumpy with being cooped up. Used my exercise slot to take the kids out and they just squabbled, so came home again. Tomorrow I will go for a walk on my own Angry

How are you @RubySlippers77 and @MustHaveBlankets?

SunshineCake · 12/04/2020 16:54

So excited to go with my dog but also apprehensive.

Ds is currently making pizza dough. I fully plan to have chocolate and crisps after soup but maybe not the wine as already feeling emotional and wine can make me depressed.

Hope everyone is okay. @BustedDreams @Galvantula @SheepSocks @Foreverlexicon @WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa @MustHaveBlankets

MrsJonesAndMe · 12/04/2020 17:13

Great minds think alike @sunshinecake 's DS Grin

No, maybe lay off the wine for a bit.

Meant to ask if you've seen the video clip from the respiratory exercise that's meant to be helpful for people with Covid? Deep breath, hold for 5, do it 5 times and do a big cough x2 and then lie on your front for 10 minutes? Meant to help clear lungs.

How is your breathing?

SheepSocks · 12/04/2020 17:23

Hi all,

I hope we are all well? Thank you @SunshineCake for asking after me.

I had dropped off here, I went through a very stressful time at work and that became my main focus and worry.

I need to jump back on the weight loss programme, I don't fit into my summer clothes. I'm about a stone heavier than I was last year,

I am looking forward to joint you all again and be inspired by you.

SunshineCake · 12/04/2020 17:24

I did do the breathing thing a couple of times Es but then forgot. My breathing is better today thank you. I'm still really tired but I think some of it is emotional tiredness.

MustHaveBlankets · 12/04/2020 21:20

Happy Easter everyone!

I ended up having half a bottle of wine on Friday and 2 beers and Pizza Hut yday so today I've been on my best behaviour and am well below calories to try make up for it. Not even hungry so bonus!

I did lose it with dh today as he was waving chocolate in my face and offered me a beer about 3 times so I exploded and told him he was a feeder and just wanted me to stay fat forever...he just eye rolled and said I was being dramatic. Twat.

SunshineCake · 12/04/2020 22:02

*@MustHaveBlankets Angry. Please sort out your husband. No excuse for this behaviour.

Nice to see you *@SheepSocks. I rank we've all struggled and so,s have gone up. I have about 3 lbs. up tomorrow I can have my first walk in four weeks so it starts again.

SunshineCake · 12/04/2020 22:03

Try again - I think we have all struggled and some have gone up...

RubySlippers77 · 12/04/2020 23:28

@SunshineCake - yep, I've definitely struggled and haven't dared weigh myself Sad currently horrendous AF time (think I am in peri menopause) and really all I want to do is sink into a lake of chocolate. Obviously that was convenient for today but from now on I'd rather have a bit more enthusiasm for healthy eating and exercise! I'm so glad you're on the mend though, and hope you have a fantastic walk with your dog tomorrow. And wise words about repurposing the thread; I agree, everyone is finding it tough and we're all trying to make the best of a tough situation.

@Foreverlexicon hope you enjoyed your run and ride today and that a bit of time off helps with your mental health, that sounds really tough. Please look after yourself Flowers

@fallfallfall sending you all good wishes for your recovery! Could your DP buy you a shopping trolley instead of a walker, if that makes you feel better about it? I've actually thought about buying one for myself (I'm early 40s!) as I genuinely have no idea about how to carry loads of stuff once my DC are out of their buggy Grin

Welcome back @SheepSocks. I was hoping to be out of my size 16 elasticated waist summer clothes by this summer but apparently not, you are not alone in still wanting to lose some weight... although @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 has it with the phrase 'survival mode', I'm trying to home educate (ha!) my 4yo DTs and keep the house relatively clean and tidy whilst cooking and shopping when I can, I have zero hope...

@MustHaveBlankets is your DH usually such an arse?! Or just a bit insensitive at the moment?

@MrsJonesAndMe hope you enjoyed your anniversary, albeit in strange circumstances! We were due to go on holiday in a fortnight but obviously that won't be happening, I guess it's all about adjusting your expectations at the moment; we're relatively lucky in that our family are all still healthy for now. Have to admit that I haven't been to a big supermarket for weeks now - since before lockdown - we've made do with a Morrisons box and picking stuff up from small shops. The queues here were enormous over Easter weekend Shock

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 13/04/2020 06:54

It's a very strange set of experiences at the moment.

On the one hand it's brilliant spending so much time with DD 5yo, I'm watching her evolve and change by the minute, she loves spending so much time with me and her dad although she's missing her friends.

On the other hand, the constant influx of news, death, illness alongside all the worries about work/income future recession. The amount of thought that goes into things that just a few weeks ago were done off hand, like getting food, finding somewhere that has printer ink and paper in stock, supporting extended family.........It's overwhelming and it makes it hard to hold back the anxiety.

We are trying really hard to keep positive, to enjoy the time together, find new ways to keep DD occupied, learn new skills and such but it takes a lot of mental and physical energy to achieve that.

I've started keeping a blog which I'm finding helpful, the main purpose of it is to give DD some first hand memories she can look back on when she's studying this in social sciences, biology or history class in 10 years for her GCSEs, but it's also nice to take some time at the end of the day to think about what has been achieved, the good, the bad and the ugly Grin
