Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

Sorry to hear the threads haven't been welcoming. Imagine them being clique-ey at a time like this Shock

I'm glad to hear you've rung 111 for advice and that they are taking it seriously. Update when/if you can. x

SunshineCake · 28/03/2020 19:49

Doctor just rang. Said breathing seems settled. Drink and rest.

That was it.

Didn't get to tell him about the tightness in my back and chest, the new odd pain I've had in my stomach for three nights, headaches, cough, sore throat..

MrsJonesAndMe · 28/03/2020 21:47

Oh great Hmm Sending you a (((hug)))

SunshineCake · 28/03/2020 22:02

Thank you. Hoping I'll feel better soon

Take care everyone.

RubySlippers77 · 28/03/2020 22:29

Hope you have a good night and feel better in the morning @SunshineCake. If you are no better on Monday could your GP surgery offer a longer telephone appointment? I had to phone ours yesterday and they were very helpful (far more helpful than when they're open!!), the doctor phoned me back a few hours later and arranged a prescription. It was only for DTS2's hand (his skin is sore and weeping now from too much hand washing and not drying them properly), but hopefully they might be able to spend a bit longer talking to you than a 111 doctor could?

And so sorry to hear your update @Foreverlexicon - tough times Flowers I know there are plenty of methods of communication these days but you can't beat actually seeing people! We are here if you want virtual company x

I'm still feeling rotten, but either it's mild CV or (more likely!) a streaming cold; I reckon it's only a cold as I don't have a temperature. DP did a supermarket shop by himself earlier - we couldn't both go as we couldn't take the DC - and I didn't want to cause a panic by coughing in there! His utilities work is still ongoing, which I'm pleased about, partly for the financial aspect and partly because he won't be under our feet all day long Grin he bought some sugary doughnuts and let the DC tear into them without him watching, then wondered why they'd eaten two each and were bouncing off the walls...

I'm not eating as much as I can't smell or taste anything - stuffed up nose rather than another CV symptom! - maybe it will help me lose a few lb?! probably not with my chocolate stash still around

MrsJonesAndMe · 29/03/2020 08:47

How was your night @SunshineCake?

That is true @RubySlippers77 DH has been popping to his empty office (very local and he's a key worker) to get some stuff done/bring stuff home, deal with stuff that needs dealing with and it has helped us to have a bit of space.

Sugar covered donuts are lovely but oh so messy - very brave Grin

My weight is quite stable at the moment, trying to stick loosely to 8 hour eating window, making sure I get some exercise, taking my vitamins. Fall down on the sleep though - really not sleeping well!

For bad hands, I swear by Body shop hemp cream, but too late to pop to the shops for some now anyway - how much have our lives changed in a week? Sad

SunshineCake · 29/03/2020 09:04

Morning @RubySlippers77 and @MrsJonesAndMe

I didn't sleep very well and when I did I had a nightmare with two bad events happening. I feel hot and my throat is sore again. Coughed already. I can't explain the tiredness. It is not like when one has had a busy day or up with a small baby. I just can't imagine doing anything today. A few days ago I was drawing pictures to stick to the windows for the neighbouring kids. Today I can't even imagine being able to pick up a pen, same as yesterday.

Haven't weighed yesterday and have started spotting. I am late anyway.

Have a good day everyone.

Foreverlexicon · 29/03/2020 11:03

I hope you feel better soon @SunshineCake

@RubySlippers77 if you have a snotty noise it’s very unlikely to be CV at least, there is a rotten cold going round too, I had it last week and it floored me!

I’m feeling slightly more optimistic today. Food yesterday was good and I went for a run. Focusing on this is helping as it gives me a bit of routine. They’re putting us on minimum numbers and putting a large number of people in reserve. Luckily I’m working the first wave but from the 15th April I’ll be off for 24 days on call ready to replace someone who goes sick.

RubySlippers77 · 29/03/2020 20:53

That's what I was hoping about my snotty nose @Foreverlexicon... I've been coughing/ sneezing/ sniffling all day and am tired out! My chest does hurt a bit and I can't smell or taste anything but again, think it's a cold rather than CV. There was a bitterly cold wind here today so I didn't go for a walk, did venture into the garden to do a bit of plant watering but that was it. Glad to hear that you're feeling a bit better about things today, it sounds like work is going to keep you busy?

Have you had a relaxing day @SunshineCake and are on the mend soon; I've heard that CV absolutely wipes people out (a chap I used to work with is currently recovering from it) so do take it easy and don't rush to do anything you don't need to do.

@MrsJonesAndMe if DP stops going to work I think I'll have to get a job ASAP!! He moped around the house all day today, whinged that he needed peace/ quiet/ a rest most of the time, complained that the DC wanted attention and wouldn't leave him alone (they're kids - that's what they do!) and then finally at bedtime decided that it was time to HAVE SOME FUN and wind them up... grrrrr. He just has so little patience with them and ignores them when he's on his phone. I'm actually looking forward to him going back to work tomorrow, we seemed to do better last week without him!

The Body Shop are offering free home delivery for orders over £25 but I assume that would be a large hand cream order to make that amount Grin

MrsJonesAndMe · 29/03/2020 21:39

Just spent 1 1/2 hours trying to settle with the clock change... took so long he was hungry again, so came down for toast and then finally went to sleep.

My DH is mostly great and we do spend a lot of time together, but it will get hard if it goes on for a long time.

Way to go @Foreverlexicon

How are things @SunshineCake?

SunshineCake · 29/03/2020 22:04

Hi everyone

Still bad I'm afraid. I went to the landing to see dd and felt like I'd gone to the moon. I've had pain in my chest and back in my left side then tonight I had burning in my right side/breast. I'm just so tired. Have done my inhaler twice extra. Still coughing. Still shattered.

MrsJonesAndMe · 30/03/2020 07:14

Can you contact your GP surgery today to review the asthma situation at least? They may prescribe more/different or ABs too.

Thinking of you x

SunshineCake · 30/03/2020 08:09

I will see how I am today. I feel they have enough on. I will use my inhaler more as I suspect she'll say use it more even when I say it hasn't helped. I did feel a dose last night helped a bit for the first time.

Have a good day.

Foreverlexicon · 30/03/2020 08:24

Hope you’re feeling a bit better today @SunshineDays1

Food was good yesterday and I did Gillian Michaels as was super windy. Decluttered the kitchen. Felt pretty low after seeing news expecting this to go on 3-6 months but played online risk with the gf which managed to cheer me up. I’d give anything for us to be annoying the shit out of each other, I am in no way cut out for a LDR, let alone one where I can’t see her at all.

SunshineCake · 30/03/2020 10:47

Can you FaceTime, *@Foreverlexicon. Sorry if too stupid a question.

New symptom today as I can't face eating. I'm also urinating a lot and I don't think I am drinking as much as I used to never mind more Confused.

MrsJonesAndMe · 30/03/2020 12:59

(((hugs))) to you both. Pootling along, trying not to think too far ahead either lexicon

MustHaveBlankets · 30/03/2020 13:18

Hi, mind if I join? I've weighed myself this morning and plan to be nowhere near that amount by the time we're out of lock down!

SunshineCake · 30/03/2020 16:46

Everyone is welcome to join but we seem to have lost a few and those left are posting less about about our food, weight etc. Understandably. Dh has already told me not to be worrying about my weight while I try and recover.

MustHaveBlankets · 30/03/2020 17:44

Sorry I try not to read big threads like this as it feels like prying so I just read the OP and post! (Yes I'm weird I can't help it!)

SunshineCake · 30/03/2020 18:59

Get stuck in as much or as little as you want.

MrsJonesAndMe · 30/03/2020 21:10

Hi @MustHaveBlankets what are you following to loose the weight? Have you got an idea of a target?

I've lost 2 stone between July and Jan with Intermittent Fasting. Been maintaining since.

Think very few people are focusing on weight/diet at the moment, but it would be an ideal time to take charge if you can get the mindset right!

How has the day been @SunshineCake Mine's been pretty bleugh. Stuck to 8hr eating window and did a bit of yoga. Planning a big walk tomorrow. Need to get out even if it's not very nice out there.

RubySlippers77 · 30/03/2020 22:18

Welcome @MustHaveBlankets Smile as @SunshineCake says, there's less of us at the moment and food/ diet has gone on the back burner for now, but feel free to join us! Are you following something like SW/ WW or your own plan?

We went out for a walk today @MrsJonesAndMe during the only bit of sunshine we got! I know we should go out but it's not very enjoyable with small DC, trying to stop them running too near people and watching their disappointment at not being able to go to the park Sad we've explained why but of course they don't really get it.

I'm still feeling pretty rotten and wheezy, could be doing a lot more with the DC but I really don't have the energy - getting no break at all at the moment. I found out today that a chap I used to work with has very sadly died of CV, which put it into perspective; he was only in his early 40s. So a lot bit of Peppa Pig isn't too awful in the long run, if it's what we need to do to get by for now.

MrsJonesAndMe · 31/03/2020 07:14

Ah no @RubySlippers77 that is very sad news.

We've just been going to the green so we don't have the option of the park and using the basketball court to play a bit of tennis or kicking a ball.

Feeling better after sleeping better.

Check in with you all later - (((hugs))) @SunshineCake and how are you @Foreverlexicon?

MustHaveBlankets · 31/03/2020 07:32

Morning, I get that it's not a priority atm but I feel like at least it's one thing I can actually control! I'm just calorie counting and trying to move more, dug out my Fitbit yday so can keep track.

Ideally I would follow Sw from home but 1 it's expensive food wise and 2 I'm not organised enough to get everything without going to the shop multiple times a week and I obviously can't do that.

We have Peppa on repeat here too, dd has a melt down seeing the park but not being allowed to go in it so I'm doing what I need to to stay sane!

SunshineCake · 31/03/2020 08:56

Morning all.

Thank you for your kind wishes.

*@RubySlippers77 I am so sorry to hear about your friend. It is such a scary time. I've just read about a woman of 26 who felt off colour for a couple of days and has died if CV. No fever though.

I'm half a pound down. Only ate yesterday as dh made me. No appetite again today. Slept badly. My breathing was much worse again yesterday and it is terrifying as I'm so exhausted I just want to lie down but it crushes my chest and makes it hard to feel I am breathing enough. Dh has ordered another inhaler for me, rather early, but I am worried I will run out as I am having to use it extra. I also don't know if I'll get my asthma appointment in just over a week so need to be prepared. Normally I wait for inhalers as I have to pay for each one and I need at least two different ones at the moment. I used to go months without needing them so often would go out of date but now I need them.

Take care of yourselves everyone and there is nothing wrong with a lot of tv. All the rules have gone. It is unreal times.
