Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

No, it really doesn't matter sweetheart. Sending you a big hug. I read this morning that you should call 111 if you've got past day 7 and you don't feel better.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-51711227

May be worth thinking about.

we've had a good day today @RubySlippers77 so it has helped the morale. Trying not to think about finances too much, but pleased your DH may have that option.

Went to Waitrose in town as I (rightly) suspected it would be quieter than the local Tesco... how such a big town only have 2 big shops, I don't know! and it was very well stocked and civilised - apart from the obvious. No dried pasta, flour, tins very low, toilet roll and tissues very low, no paracetamol, freezers still low on some stuff.

I got pretty much everything on my list

SunshineCake · 25/03/2020 15:03

I'll give it another couple of days as I haven't moved from my bedroom today and have no done nothing but sit, eat and paint office nails. I'm not sure there is much they can do but thankfully don't feel I need a doctor yet. I was hoping a day in bed would help.

RubySlippers77 · 25/03/2020 18:24

Hope your day in bed has been lovely and restful @SunshineCake!

Far too much telly here today, but DTS2 has been full of sniffles and grumbles and I wanted to go through the fridge, so it was a necessary evil... made a few meals and frozen some fruit & veg we hadn't got round to eating and am pleased with that.

I haven't dared go near a supermarket - don't think you're supposed to take children unless you can't avoid it? - but DP got bread and milk today which was all we needed urgently. No-one near us seems to be taking lockdown seriously, I'd rather not go out if I can help it, but of course the online shops have massive queues to get on their websites...

SunshineCake · 25/03/2020 18:40

I have so many things I would like to do but just can't. I am so tired but can't even work out if it is emotional or physical. My eyes are sore again as is my throat. Had to take paracetamol as I had another headache and have just had a honey and lemon drink. I feel confused and scared. I'm on about day seven or eight where I have been coughing a fair amount but I as a few days before that when I was coughing once a morning and once in the afternoon. DD is the only other family member to have coughed but she seems a lot better than me and not really unwell.

I've currently got two cats sleeping on my bed with me and I have also had my dog snuggled in at times which is chaotic but lovely.

My breathing is worried me but I'm just taking it a day at a time and hoping for the best. Relieved that dh and I haven't received a vulnerable person letter and accepting we will be in for the next three weeks as per the rules from the government. DH is only going out for shopping on Friday because he has to go out for animal meds so is out anyway.

SunshineCake · 25/03/2020 18:41

Don't be worrying about tv, ruby. It's a day at a time and tv is fine.

MrsJonesAndMe · 25/03/2020 18:44

Best to just rest then @SunshineDays1

Glad you got supplies @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50

Telly won't hurt - we've relaxed the gaming only at the weekend rule and had a bit every day @RubySlippers77 but my youngest is slightly older than yours.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 25/03/2020 19:04

@SunshineCake do you ever suffer from hay fever at all?

Sore eyes, scratchy throat, general tiredness and cough are signs that mine is flaring.

I find end March to May the worst as that's when the tree pollen is out.

SunshineCake · 25/03/2020 19:18

No, not hay fever. I have asthma.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 25/03/2020 19:50

Do you have any anti histamines in the house that you could try (as long as ok with any other medications of course)

I'm 36, first hay fever attack was when I was 31, nothing before then.

If you have any and can take them, give it a shot and see if you feel any better. I do find the 1 a day tablets, only help for about 4-5 hours but they do help.

SunshineCake · 25/03/2020 19:57

I haven't been outside for a day and a half and I've had conjunctivitis so I am sure it is just that.

Dh just offered me a Baileys to help me sleep but I've said no. Not sure it is a good idea!

MrsJonesAndMe · 26/03/2020 06:57

Hope that today is the turning point for you @SunshineCake

SunshineCake · 26/03/2020 07:53

Thank you. I've woken up with the cough on my chest more, a sore throat, hoarse voice and a headache but I did sleep all night which is positive. DH has said another day in bed for me but I will get up for a warm shower. No appetite and my drink tastes weird.

Hay fever suffering dh confirms I don't have it.

Hope everyone else is well.

MrsJonesAndMe · 26/03/2020 21:40

Hope you sleep well again and that you enjoyed your shower.

SunshineCake · 26/03/2020 22:11

Hi, how are you?

Another day in bed and I can't see myself getting up tomorrow either Sad. I worry about my dog. She is used to being with me all day. She does come up in the day to see me but doesn't always stay long.

Still having breathing trouble and pains in my back and chest.

Had a few tears tonight when I saw the pictures on line of people clapping for the NHS appreciation demonstration. DH and I clapped from our bedroom window and quite a few neighbours came out then someone set off a load of fireworks in the road and frightened two of my cats and my dog.

Tomorrow dh is going out to get vital meds. Worried about it tbh.

RubySlippers77 · 26/03/2020 22:39

Sorry to hear you are still poorly @SunshineCake... if you have a comfy sofa could you snuggle up there tomorrow instead with your dog? Or would you rather be in bed? If your DH is collecting pharmacy meds could you call and see if they will deliver instead, most of the ones round us do?

I'm full of a cough, aches and pains and runny nose but think it's just a cold, no temperature here. DP isn't working this weekend so I thought great, he could look after the DC for a couple of hours whilst I rest... no, he's decided that he has man flu which will no doubt necessitate him lying in bed for hours and not being able to do any childcare Angry

Been making a shopping list as we're nearly out of fresh veg, I've cooked and frozen some soups, curries, pasta bakes etc in case we're ill and have no energy to cook. No money for takeaways though so perhaps I'll lose a few lb even under lockdown?!

MrsJonesAndMe · 27/03/2020 07:19

Morning, I had a full on sob at 8pm after keeping it together all week. My family also in lock down now for 3 weeks under much tighter restrictions than here, so counting my blessings and worrying about them.

I will also be going out to get a prescription, hay fever meds and supplies.

Sounds like good going @RubySlippers77 I'm working on the basis that we won't be ill at the same time and have just made sure early March that the freezer and cupboards contained enough for 2 weeks. This was before it all got serious here, but now at least I have some peace of mind about it all.

Again it would just be easy things like fish fingers, pasta and sauce, chicken curry and bolognaise - at a pinch the teen could cope with prepping those.

DS just said he's looking forward to the weekend so he doesn't have to do any work Grin He's not been made to do much!

SunshineCake · 27/03/2020 07:39

*@RubySlippers77, morning. It is meds for the animals dh is going for and they won't deliver.

I've woken up feeling worse so will stay in bed. I'd rather be here than downstairs as I have the en suite for the loo and I've stopped using the downstairs one, so would have to keep coming upstairs, as it is recommended we don't share towels.

I don't think a fever always happens immediately and as for your husband, don't let him take the piss. One year dh and I both had the flu so we did half a day each with the children who were all small. Why should he get to fully rest when you are poorly too and probably feeling worse than him?!

MrsJonesAndMe · 27/03/2020 15:18

Hope you're safely snuggled. Ben and en suite sounds very sensible.

I missed you both being poorly skim reading Blush @RubySlippers77 he definitely needs to pull his weight, but also low standards: TV, easy food, skip the bath etc

2 hours it took me to get into Tesso, shop, pay and get in another line for my prescription and back to the car. Now I've got that, I will not set foot in there again. The shop haven't done anything wrong - in fact, they were all amazing, but due to the town set up, it's the shop everyone goes to. Will be back to Waitrose next week - situated in town centre where fewer people live.

SunshineCake · 27/03/2020 20:25

I went downstairs to get a bag and ended up emptying the washer and dishwasher this morning then reloading both. Wiped me out. Every time I've done something I've had to sit or lie down. Still coughing. No temp. Tightness around chest and back. According to another thread should be over it by now Confused.

Foreverlexicon · 28/03/2020 09:30

Hi guys
I’m sorry for disappearing. I’ve found the escalation and change very difficult to deal with. Took my partner down to Cornwall last week and said good bye expecting to see her in a few days time for my birthday and now shit has hit the fan and with her mum so ill and me being at high risk of coming into contact with the virus due to work, we decided it’s safer if we don’t see each other (even before lockdown). As is, it could be months before we see each other 😔

It’s taken a few days and I still feel rather fragile but trying to dust myself off and get on with it. Seems like a good time to lose the weight now I can’t do anything fun which is likely to lead me astray so here I am. I’ve only gained 0.8lb since I lost a fair chunk on February so I’m going to crack on.

I hope everyone is managing okay in these strange times

SunshineCake · 28/03/2020 12:45

I've been wondering how you are yours are, *@Foreverlexicon. Sorry to hear things are so difficult SadFlowers.

I've been in bed since Wednesday even though I am on day ten of coughing, and apparently over it, there is no way I am fit to go out if we could. I haven't been downstairs since yesterday morning very briefly and even standing up makes me feel wobbly and shattered.

Symptoms have been headaches, sore throat, cough, conjunctivitis, tight band around my chest and back, hurts to swallow and a weird pain in my lower abdomen.

MrsJonesAndMe · 28/03/2020 15:23

Ah @Foreverlexicon I've been thinking of you. I have links with some Met police and local police, so have lots of sympathy for you. Add on top your poor GF... sending you a big (((hug)))

Oh @SunshineCake that really doens't sound great. Have you been reading some of the threads detailing symptoms and does yours seem to be following others' timeline? Still think contacting 111 is a good idea, think they've given lots of people some ABs to just guard against any infections taking over.

Here, we've been OK. Weather not very pleasant, but went for a walk anyway. Just pootling about for the rest of the day.

How are things @RubySlippers77 I hope you feel better today!

SunshineCake · 28/03/2020 15:30

I have tried to join in with threads and have posted symptoms and it is like my posts aren't seen as no one replies. I feel that as I am coping I shouldn't take up 111s time but I have been poorly over seven days so not sure where that time line has come from.

SunshineCake · 28/03/2020 16:38

I've spoken to a lovely woman on the 111 service and she's asked that someone call me back within the next two hours as she is worried about my breathing. I have used my inhaler twice extra today and it hasn't helped.
