Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

DD finished school on Tuesday and DS didn't go in yesterday so Monday won't make a difference to us as we've already taken them out but after a couple of weeks it will sink in more as by then I think we will be finding it harder and also things will have progressed.

I did the NHS questionnaire and it said it is quite likely I have it so to stay at home.

I'm not understanding the difference between self isolating if you may have it though as obvious you must if you do. There are no decent walks for my dog where we can avoid people so yesterday we played in the garden with her and she didn't ask to go out, probably because we didn't go near the front door.

At the moment we are all planning to not leave the house for two weeks.

Hope everyone is well and while we may have stopped worrying so much about our weights it would be nice to keep chatting on here.

Take care everyone.

RubySlippers77 · 20/03/2020 09:41

I hope you're feeling better soon @SunshineCake (and of course that everyone else is well too). Last day of school for us here and I am feeling quite tearful and not just at the prospect of months of home schooling. So much uncertainty in the world at the moment, the DC are confused and don't understand what's going on, and it's panicking them with the shops being incredibly busy.

I actually hope that they don't remember this period - or if they do, that we can make some nice memories - they are due to start Reception in September but who knows what will be happening by then?! They're going to miss their nursery class and I can't even take them to the park Sad

It would be lovely to keep chatting on here; TBH I know I still need to lose weight but am eating whatever's fresh at the moment and saving anything that can be frozen, just in case. DP is off to buy another freezer later! However I've also invested in a DAB radio and a landline phone after not having either for years. After a few days of dodgy wifi I realised how dependent we were on it, a back up plan was needed!

SunshineCake · 20/03/2020 13:20

I've been in my bedroom all morning and I have been doing lots of cleaning and tidying and I reorganised my wardrobe as per the style sisters piece on This Morning.

MrsJonesAndMe · 20/03/2020 13:32

Gosh @SunshineCake so you're not feeling too horrid then? I've been worried about you and your asthma!

I feel sad for DD as she's missing a London Stage show, her last few months of this school before moving and lots going off to different schools and her school trip abroad. (of course health being the main concern, but it's hard when you're a kid)

I've not had that much of an appetite in the last few days, but that has certainly been financial worry @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50, but fingers crossed, we'll be OK and better off than many!

SunshineCake · 20/03/2020 16:09

Tbh I don't feel great but I'm just doing things quickly when I feel okay but I am stopping now as I feel sick and keep going hot and cold.

DrDiva · 21/03/2020 08:47

Hello all, sorry I have been awol yet again - I work with many many international students and been part of getting them home. It’s nice to be able to say that they have all got home safely and are well.
So sorry you are feeling so ill @SunshineCake - I hope you are on the way to recovery soon! Do you have people to do shopping for you?
And to all the parents with young children on the thread, all the best for you too.
Flowers

SunshineCake · 21/03/2020 09:21

I have a friend who potentially might be able to get us so,Edina but so far we are okay, thank you. We will run out of fresh fruit and milk over the next few days but it isn't the end of the world. No tea for dh and ds and no cereal for anyone but we have other options.

It is frustrating as a someone suggested I drive somewhere to walk the dog but surely that is still risky for others if I am positive plus I'm shattered and while doggy is happy snuggled in bed with me with a few runs in the garden and indoor play time, surely that is he best option ? Plus I'm coughing a lot again.

MrsJonesAndMe · 21/03/2020 21:15

Well done @DrDiva that sounds like a stressful operation.

No, stay put @SunshineCake your health comes first (and not spreading it) hope you can have some fresh stuff delivered.

SunshineCake · 22/03/2020 08:02

Morning all

I feel like my cough has got worse, more in my chest but my eye looks better. Every cloud..

I don't know what to do as DS wants to go and get his stuff from university and I have a feeling unnecessary travel will be banned very soon. It is a 2.5 hour drive there, dh recovering, me not great but he wants his stuff and he has two bottles of hand wash that we are going to need soon. Need to talk to him. Waiting two weeks for dd to get her stuff from her friend but that is local, goodness maybe that will be cancelled too [frets about everything].

MrsJonesAndMe · 22/03/2020 20:54

What sort of stuff is it? Desperate things like his laptop to work and essential clothes? Can DS drive or not?

I'm glad you're getting there - apparently once the cough feels more productive it's on the way out... though who knows!

I will look at my silver lining - back to my lowest weight and 30lbs off again! Last 4 days I've been back on IF, last 2 nights I've done yoga again too.

SunshineCake · 22/03/2020 21:44

It's everything. Clothes, books, kitchen stuff, etc. He has to get it as the chances are he won't get back before the end of this year so won't live there again Sad. DS can drive but isn't insured to drive either of our cars and they are so powerful the insurers would only give a quote for when he is 19. He was 19 a few days ago. As it is dh is planning on driving him and making several stops but only parked up. DS will go in and do it all alone once he has checked there is no one there and then come home.

I felt really awful again today for a few hours and I am still coughing a lot. Had to use my inhaler twice extra today.

Weight wise, I'm up 1.5lbs. Well done on your yoga and weight loss.

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/03/2020 20:35

Oh dear, that's a big task for both DS and DH then. Hope that you feel better tomorrow.

I've stress eaten today and if we are curtailed further, I might balloon again!

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/03/2020 20:41

Oh there we go, just been announced Sad

SunshineCake · 23/03/2020 22:19

Dh and DS and all his stuff safely home.

I'm much worse. Really struggling with breathing, more than ever before. Still coughing a lot. Really think I must have it. No fever. Think that was a problem as I went out for three days longer than I should as I was only coughing twice a day and had no fever.

RubySlippers77 · 23/03/2020 23:15

Glad your DH and DS are home ok @SunshineCake but so sorry to hear how poorly you are feeling. I hope you manage to get plenty of rest now and are on the mend soon Flowers

@MrsJonesAndMe I was thinking the same about stress eating, I still have 37lb to lose! plus there is all the stress drinking with the DC at home

SunshineCake · 24/03/2020 11:08

Thank you @RubySlippers77. I'm wishing the next few days to go quickly as apparently day 10 and day 15 are crucial days. I'm on day 7.

I've just put wash load number 2 on, have ironed all the school uniform, dh has put fresh bread on to have with the soup I made yesterday and my next plan is to do my nails and write cards to my 83 year old friends x 3 to cheer them up. All live alone and are self isolating. Fortunately we live in a very quiet area with a post box at the end of the road so it is easy for dh or DS2 to go there safely.

MrsJonesAndMe · 24/03/2020 13:02

You're doing too much! No ironing!

SunshineCake · 24/03/2020 14:09

Smile I've done the uniforms and it was okay. I've written the three notes to my friend and dh has posted them. I plan to do nothing else and hope dh will cook dinner tonight.

How is everyone?

MrsJonesAndMe · 24/03/2020 21:06

Made it to the end of the day. Praise the Gods I'm off tomorrow, so only shopping and home schooling and cleaning to do Hmm

RubySlippers77 · 24/03/2020 21:36

Well, I've been feeling rubbish today so of course have been checking and re-checking the coronavirus symptoms!! I doubt it is, the DC are very snotty and I still can't get rid of my ear infection (six weeks and counting now!), I think it's more being run down and having to cope with small children all day

How are you doing Sunshine?

Hope your day goes ok tomorrow MrsJones. I probably need to go shopping at some point but am dreading it! I cleaned out the bathroom today and was really pleased I'd accomplished it whilst the DC played in the garden. Then I saw the mud by the back door and realised that I'd created another job for myself Shock

SunshineCake · 24/03/2020 22:12

I am not shaking this off. Much worse tonight. Even my inhaler hasn't helped.

Managed to organise the animals meds but no offer to post them to us or drop them off even when I said we were SI so dh will go and get them in a few days and then pick up a few bits.

This cough is horrible.

MrsJonesAndMe · 25/03/2020 06:51

I'm hoping that today will feel better for you @SunshineCake

That's the thing @RubySlippers77 I'm trying to teach the DC to clean up after themselves, so even DS scraping his plate meant that he then cleaned the knife off against the rim of the bin I'd just wiped, or grass on the floor that's just been hoovered, or mud in the porch as the wellies goes on etc etc etc.

I'm just wondering how shopping will look, because on the BBC it said to "buy essentials only" and "don't get more than you need" but also "don't go to the shop more often than you need"...so do I buy just what we need for say 3 days or do I try and do a weekly shop?

Will make my list in 2 columns and see what they say when I get there.

We've been snotty on and off in rounds since October really, so unless we get the weird cough or a fever, we will carry on.

RubySlippers77 · 25/03/2020 07:59

Hope you managed some sleep last night @SunshineCake and that you feel better this morning/ today. Our vet sent out a text saying they are open for emergencies only; perhaps yours doesn't have the staff/ facilities to deliver meds? (I know mine wouldn't and we are only 5 minutes' drive away!) But a pain regardless.

I've made a small shopping list @MrsJonesAndMe - things like bread and milk are high up on the list - other things like cauliflower would be nice but not essential. I could do it quite easily with a small Iceland online shop, for example, but they aren't even taking orders in our area! DP thinks his current job (utilities work, so classed as essential) will finish this week, he may do some supermarket delivery driving to keep the pennies coming in as they're crying out for drivers here.

And yes, so tiring when the DC create more work... I'm hoping it will be worth it in the long run!! I'm still coughing and a bit achey but it does improve when I take a bit of ibuprofen (not recommended for coronavirus I know, but I don't think it is). We have a few Lemsips knocking about but I'm saving them for when I really need them, no chance of getting more at the moment!

SunshineCake · 25/03/2020 08:31

Thank you.

Didn't sleep well. Still coughing, inhaler not helped as I couldn't speak in sentences, pain in my chest and back and feel hot but sure not a fever.

Dh has said I have to stay in bed today. I will try really hard too.

Did weigh myself for WOW and up slightly, about a pound, but while I'm annoyed I am trying to tell myself it really doesn't matter and I'm due on even though last months period lasted three weeks Confused.

Stay well everyone.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 25/03/2020 11:43

I went to Morrison's this morning, very quiet, only allowing small numbers in and everyone had to keep their distance.

Food was well stocked, no loo roll and gaps in the chicken/meat section but plenty of stuff to make up a full shop if you're not too picky. Lots of bread, milk and veg.

Up 2lb but also on my period so blaming that as well as lack of exercise.
