Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

Star @fallfallfall

SunshineCake · 29/02/2020 06:49

I'm awake. My asthma didn't wake me but is stopping me from going back to sleep. It's blowing a gale and chucking it down. Not sure I'll get out promptly with my dog. DH was also hoping to leave the house for the first time in six days but we will see.

@RubySlippers77 getting our dog has been one of the best things we've ever done. I have at least one walk a day, have made friends, got closer to my neighbour, she gives me a reason to get up, (the dog not my neighbour Grin}, absolutely loves me best which is great as upbringing was crap and never had that and has helped my bad MH immeasurably.

SunshineCake · 29/02/2020 06:51

@fallfallfall this week I've made butternut squash and greyer cheese soup plus a white bean one which was much nicer than expected. Good luck with yours!

I had too much chocolate yesterday which put me at around 2000 calories. And I didn’t exercise. I had a massive dip in my mood, feeling sad at the prospect of a LDR and spent most of the day moping.

It’s silly as we don’t live in each other’s pockets anyway but I have some major attachment/abandonment issues that I’ve actually recently started therapy for so the prospect is making me pretty sad. Any LDR tips? I don’t want to spend the summer pining. I’ve made plans to keep myself busy and I’m going to join the gym and really focus on losing this weight but beyond that...

I dare say as much as I’d like to lose 5lb before the 21st, I’m going to find this month very difficult so it may end up being more damage control but I’m going to keep trying and will exercise when I can.

SunshineCake · 29/02/2020 10:38

Oh dear @Foreverlexicon. I am sorry you are upset about a LDR. That is what Dh and I had for nearly two years but we did speak every day, saw each other at least once a week and always had something to look forward to. It isn't forever and it isn't because she doesn't want to be with you more. Plus brownie points for being kind.

I used to walk to work in a Monday telling myself it is almost Tuesday which means Wednesday isn't far anyway then Thursday is great as it is the day before Friday. Got me through Grin.

I confess I weighed myself then nearly passed out as though I'd had gone up seven pounds. Turned out I was down two. I here by announce I am 12 stone and one pound which is the lightest I have been in ages. My last lowest was 12 1.2 in October 2019. October 2018 I was 14 stone 2.

MrsJonesAndMe · 29/02/2020 16:57

Hi all, just checking back.

He's home is he @SunshineCake? Glad to hear it.

I've eaten carbs carbs and more carbs.

Uhm, no advice on LDR, but I guess with work and the horse you'll be busy enough and time does fly by. (((hug))) anyway

fallfallfall · 29/02/2020 17:35

forever sadly no hints. but i like sunshine's hint of looking ahead in time.
so one batch of soup made and onto another recipe, i'll need to pick up a few ingredients: yellow split pea.
i've not braved the scales but will have to tomorrow, will have to aim for a perfect walking month etc etc etc. back to my reality of needing to get into the healthy bmi zone.

SunshineCake · 29/02/2020 20:19

Yes, DH is home @MrsJonesAndMe. I cant believe it was a week ago yesterday it all happened. I'm still getting breathing problems and chest pains but hopefully they will stop very soon. I'm hoping I will sleep better soon too.

Had lovely dinner of turkey, courgette, garlic and red pepper stir fry with salad and avocado on the side. The boys has theirs in a wrap but I didn't.

RubySlippers77 · 29/02/2020 20:45

Glad your DH is home @SunshineCake. It can be pretty hard to rest in hospital, hopefully it will be easier for him at home!

@Foreverlexicon sorry to hear you are feeling down Flowers do you have a meeting date to look forward to? I haven't had an LDR since my boyfriend at uni (many years ago!) but obviously things have moved on since then with FaceTime, WhatsApp, email etc to keep in touch - we didn't even have mobiles! It did help me to write to him - actual letters at the time - and count down the days/ weeks till we met up again.

Hard day here as I'm still under the weather and DTS1's behaviour has been challenging, to say the least Sad must brave the scales again soon but have just eaten toast and Nutella

RubySlippers77 · 29/02/2020 20:48

And I would love a doggy - just the company aspect as a SAHM would be so appreciated - but often we are out for the whole day, it probably wouldn't be fair on them at the moment Sad

NorthernPowermouse · 01/03/2020 11:23

Hi all, I’ve had a better week, not brilliant, but haven’t had chance to weigh. Did Jnr park run for the first time in I think four weeks today though (and I didn’t want to die which is amazing!) and I’ll be back to Pilates after missing it for a couple of weeks on Tues, so hopefully that’ll inspire me to make healthier choices. I have just eaten Nutella out of the jar though 🤦‍♀️

Hope you’re all ok, sorry no time to namecheck, need to put dd in her bed then go and make a roast. I can hear dp clattering around in the kitchen which is never a good sign...

fallfallfall · 01/03/2020 15:34

UP 7.7 lbs!! Unbelievable....or totally believable. Nose to the grindstone time vs in the cheese platter. It’s a new month, positive thoughts for everyone.

MrsJonesAndMe · 01/03/2020 17:57

Hi all

Not too bad @fallfallfall

I'm eating all day and carb carb carbs, so will definitely need to pull my finger out for March. Healthy habits need to be the focus.

I'm hoping @BustedDreams @MissDream is OK. Should we start a new thread????

fallfallfall · 01/03/2020 18:13

Oh mrsjones I tend to only loose a pound a month with meticulous weighing of food, portion control and exercise...this may be very very bad.
I did indulge BUT 7 lbs over 3 weeks seems a bit exaggerated.
Breakfast: 1 boiled egg, 1slice of wheat bread (homemade 2/3 white 1/3 organic spelt), and a few grape tomatoes. Multivits and hot water with lemon

RubySlippers77 · 01/03/2020 22:43

@NorthernPowermouse I may have done the same with the Nutella Blush

Sorry to hear your gain @fallfallfall. Does seem unfair!

Oh gosh @MrsJonesAndMe, I so need to get back to basics with my healthy habits. This ear infection has really laid me low; took the DC out on their bikes and scooters today and I was exhausted when we got home. Usually I would have tried to cook something healthy but at the moment it's just anything easy! Hopefully I'll manage a big shop this week and find my cooking/ dieting mojo again Smile

Foreverlexicon · 02/03/2020 05:17

Things have gone from bad to worse - gf’s mum was recovering from cancer (part of the reason for the move) but have just found out it’s back. Find out the prognosis today. I’m very worried about her and have not been on the wagon over the last two days. I’ve not been terrible but I’m trying to give myself a shake as I have just under 3 weeks before I have 2 weeks off which involves a lot of occasions and a couple of trips away so I want to put some work in before then.

Back on it NOW and hopefully I can lose a few pounds before then.

RubySlippers77 · 02/03/2020 09:45

Really sorry to hear about your GF's DM @Foreverlexicon, what sad news. Sending you Flowers for the diagnosis today.

I'm up 2lb - pah! No real surprises as I've been eating like a pig. I'm just so utterly, thoroughly exhausted and can't be bothered to do anything about it. Bit of a vicious circle of course as I eat less healthily, have less energy and then can't be bothered even more - but perhaps when I'm (finally!) feeling better then things will improve...

SunshineCake · 02/03/2020 13:11

So sad to hear that @Foreverlexicon and I hope the news isn't as bad as feared.

I'm so close to my goal of dropping to the next stone level but right now I onset feel well at all. Still worrying over dh and doing 99% of everything. Just been out shopping and that was stressful as couldn't get everything I wanted and just tired me out. House is a mess, bathroom needs cleaning and I just feel like crying. Asthma still not great.

MrsJonesAndMe · 02/03/2020 13:12

Snap @RubySlippers77 Just want things that can be shoved in the oven.

Sorry to hear your GF's mum is unwell @Foreverlexicon. That does add a whole new layer of stress to things.

How are you @sunshinecake???

SunshineCake · 02/03/2020 17:19

See above @MrsJonesAndMe, we posted at a similar time Smile.

RubySlippers77 · 02/03/2020 20:54

@SunshineCake I can well imagine you're exhausted, you have been through such a lot recently. Is there any way someone could give you a hand with the cleaning just to get that off your mind? I hope your asthma improves soon too, it's been freezing here, definitely doesn't help with things like that.

Awful day here with the DC, very challenging behaviour... I am very fed up Sad

SunshineCake · 02/03/2020 21:26

I'm sure my PIL would come, @RuubySlippers77 but that would stress me more than the dust does.

I've done my inhaler lots today but still feeling very bad.

DD is stressing about the caronavirus as it seems someone in her class has been to a relevant country and is poorly. Just so tired. Can't think straight

Hope your DCs are less challenging tomorrow.

MrsJonesAndMe · 02/03/2020 21:37

Oh no @sunshinecake Wish I could come round and help you. I get what you mean about the in laws though. Would be more stressful than helpful.

Can you afford to let DD stay at home? She's probably had an awful shock too. Get her to push the hoover round, you wipe down surfaces and then you cuddle on the sofa with a movie?

RubySlippers77 · 02/03/2020 21:57

I know what you mean about PIL @SunshineCake Grin my MIL would love nothing better than to come round and clean whatever she could (think Mrs Doyle from Father Ted) but it would drive me absolutely loopy to have her here...

Hope your DD is ok, must be a stressful time for her. Maybe a day off school and a rest for you both would be a good idea as Mrs Jones suggests?
